Ya so many people QQ about warrior is OP till they try to play one. Warrior is like the jack of all trades master of none and as such makes them very specialized and not very flexible. Its a flexible class that isn’t flexible if that makes any sense. Becasue there are way too many dependencies in the trait lines, too many traits that don’t significantly help us, and not enough points once you get done specing for a specific weapon to build a balanced character. Too many bugged skills, too many skills that are lack luster or have too long of cool downs.

Then there are a few weapon skills that are awesome, with the rest being lackluster, bugged or not really that helpful.

The problem you run into in Orr is all the mobs CC immobilize, put conditions on you and knock you down. I don’t like off hand axe at all except for tagging mobs in parties.

I like mobile strikes for breaking out of immobilize because you can get away fast if you need to run away, or If your attacking something you can use it to close the gap and do damage.

You need Mobile Strikes to Survive? Since when? We already have a crapton of ways to break immobilize:

• Charge
• Shake it Off
• 6 Soldier Runes with any Shout
• Mending
• Restorative Strength

My proposal would be to move some of the weapon specific traits to 10 points instead of 20. As well as combine some traits like mobile strikes and warriors sprint. I really don’t find it game breaking that 1 trait will make a warrior run faster and movement skills breaking out of immobilize in a single trait.

Warrior’s Sprint it already made rather useless due to easy access to Swiftness from Charge and Signet of Rage.

And some of the weapon-specific traits are clearly too strong to be 10 pointers, such as Forceful Greatsword, Merciless Hammer and Axe Mastery. And it would bring a lot of imbalance, as you could do something like Quick Breathing + Lung Capacity + Vigorous Shouts.

The separation of traits to Adept, Master and Grandmaster is there for balance reasons.

Change how some skills work why do we need to trait restorative strength for heals to remove immobilize when other professions heal skills already do this. So some skills I think need to become independent of traits in ways that remove conditions automatically.

Requiring Restorative Strength? Use Charge or Shake it Off or Mending or Soldier Runes.

Charge simply isn’t a viable way to remove Immobile in pvp. If you have to swap weapons to use a skill from a supportive weapon to remove immobile and then swap back your already dead.

Shake it off only removes 1 condition but not specifically immobilize, if u have 2 conditions on you GL with that. If you remove immobile with it and get immobile again GL again.

Mending removes 2 conditions but not specifically immobilize again if you have lets say bleeding poison and immobilize you may only remove bleeding and poison and still be stuck, that and healing surge is superior in that you not only get full adrenaline but the heal is substantially more.

I already touched base on restorative strength.

Soldier runes are only good for shout builds, in which case your forced to put 30 points in tactics. Which supports my original argument. Also the key is they remove a condition not specifically immobilize.

Please before you try to argue my points do more research thank you.

I prefer soldier gear>knights>berserker>everything else.

Heres why.

The way the warrior traits are are very messed up and this is why warrior is so bad compared to some other professions. The weapons you chose force you into putting massive amounts of points in trait lines to work effectively. So you lack enough points to trait defense.
If you spec Defense your attack will be kitten and will have no power to kill any other players.

If you go berserker you will lack in defense and vitality. Making you very squishy. Trying to make up for that in runes, traits, or accessories will kitten your build and toon.

If you Go knights the better option you will lack in Power, and Vit and crit power. However, there are a lot more offensive runes and ways in accessories to make up for power, crit and Vit. For example you could go knights with a crit power Rune that also adds vit like rune of the Wurm. And use a mix of accessories that will balance out the build. Making this a way more balanced build.

Lastly Soldier, your missing out on precession and crit power. Which is very easy to compensate for there are dozens of ways to get fury and add crit power and precision. So I believe for the strongest build its soldiers or knights, if your looking for the most balanced build.

Anyways if you go Knights or Soldiers and have accessories that give you toughness as well you can get away with not specing toughness and vitality in your traits and will be a lot stronger than a berserker that had to trait them to survive or didn’t trait them at all.

That is does stack in duration if you cripple 3 targets for example its duration is X3.

XD that might be ok idk maybe try it with 0 strength. The discipline trait line is kinda a necessary one if u want to run faster. Or want to use mobile strikes to break out of immobilize, but the stats it gives are very small. If you didnt care about running faster there are better ways to get 9% crit power with gear. If your using a shout build with solder runes shouts remove conditions so when u shout u can simple remove immobilize. Simply adding 3 stones to accessories would do it. I kinda feel anything less than 50 crit is too low at 50+ the base of 150 your doing double damage with 200. Anything less your doing less than double.

Thats pretty cool never noticed that. in order to do it though would have to extend the arms tree out another tier and drop the power tree and shout trait. which would be cool though cause would free up a new utility for something like on my mark or endure pain.

yeah thats the beauty of it you can drop the strength tree to 10 without a noticeable nerf because at 25 points of arms the minor trait attack of opportunity increases damage to bleeding foes by 10% when combined with the 1st minor trait of arms at 5 points precises strikes, you have a 33% chance to cause bleeding. So that negates removing slashing power at 20 points of strength the 10% great sword damage.

What u end up with is a build thats better for using multiple weapons instead of being constrained to 1.

Ill tell you a secret. If you promise not to tell anyone. j/k If your after crit theres a niftly little trick you can do with traits. In the arms trait there is something called opportunist which gives you fury when you immobilize a target. There in the Tactics trait there is something call leg specialist, apply a 1 second immobilize whenever you cripple a target. When you combine the 2 traits, you get fury every time you cripple something. So if you use blade trail on a GS or the cripple of an axe. u get fury, and it immobilizes and cripples all at once.

So I don’t really use for great justice at all, forceful greatsword gives me a ton of stacks of might and i get fury when i cripple.

I think the 2nd build with 2k armor is really too low. The 1st one with 2.6k is fine but I prefer something around 3k myself for dungeons. I mean with no points in my defense trait I have 2.6 k

Both your links are broken. I use shout build with soldier runes, but not with clerics gear I use soldier gear. Neither of these builds are high DPS despite what your stating. But they are high survivability with the Shout build being higher survivability than the other.

For warrior I like the Pow/toughness/vit armor you can buy from the temples in Cursed shore. You have to visit arah, grenth and malandru to get all 5 pieces. Each temple has a mix of stats and dont offer the same pieces at each location so like you can get certain pieces from different temples. The only piece you can’t buy with karma is the helm. You either get one from WvW with badges or use a knights or berserker helm. I use knights. 44k karma a piece. Best armor in game for warrior in my opinion. You have to replace the runes.

For weapons I like berserker weapons for damage only weapons like GS, for conditon weapons like longbows and swords I like rampage’s.

Yes, it applies to the sword. There is also a bug that will allow you to keep reflecting projectiles for the entire duration. Instead of just reflecting one.

Its not a bug. it only stops blocking when in melee range. Working as intended.

Is anyone really hitting this high? I assume most people know the last number u see is the total damage of the skill. Not all the numbers added up together. Normally HB for me does 8-15k depending on how many stacks of might and how many criticals. On average I’d say 10-12ish.

Its not 2+4+6+8+10 or whatever. Its whatever your last hit was the total for everything.

Last thing I will say is stop crying for warrior nerfs. Warriors dont have pets, clones, stealth abilities, insane healing, 3 or more dodges, stealth finishers, perma quickness, portals, warping, or any of the cool stuff that other professions have. We dont have skills that allow us to run around like sissys and attack at the same time depending on weapon and in this case kill shot. We don’t have versatile trait lines that apply to multiple weapons and builds. When a warrior has a specific build they are speced for that one thing and are mediocre at everything else.

All warriors do is damage that’s it if your going to cry for nerfs on warriors everything I mentioned that warriors don’t have needs a huge nerf as well. LTP

It wont be nerfed. 1st of all that skill takes around 2 seconds to cast and it roots the warrior in place. So not only cant move at all but it can be dodged. 2ndly those are not average damage numbers. The target has got to be a glass cannon build or a low level with bad gear… 3rdly it requires full adrenaline to pull off decent damage and its only decent if it crits and the warrior has very high crit damage. So folk it wont change. Learn to play and stop calling for nerfs on skills that arn’t game breaking and require a lot of things to happen and a forgiving RNG to play.\

Lastly as always peoples damage calculations are way off.

Nice thread, that touches base on the basics and as Daevinia stated most of the people who need to read this wont and ones who think they know it should read it anyways, you may not know as much as you think you do.

Yah we destroyed TC the last time we played them. Literally within 2 hours after reset they had packed it in for the week, I think we scored 515k that week.

For as much as I dislike playing against an opponent whose prime is different than mine, I would much rather face even competition than someone who we’d bury at the start and have nothing to do all week.

Just an opinion and from personal observation that was about the time and shortly after SoR received a lot of transfers, and was during the Mad King event. TC is the unofficial role playing server and as such were really into that event :o. Our guild came from Dragonbrand along with a lot of others came from other servers that I know of. SoR if I recall right started out at T5/T4 and shot to T2 in a matter of weeks not months.

I could be wrong about this and don’t quote me or hold it against me after the few weeks of being dominated by SoS a lot of players jumped off our server. Since then we have lost more and TC has received quite a few transfers since then that I know of.

It would be an interesting battle if we were to fight again provided there was no event for all the RPs on TC to forget WvW over, coupled with the current scores. TC isnt really a bad server they have just a lot of casual WvWers and a big RP pop.

Well lol I haven’t been there so I can’t say for certain, I’m sure there is some merit to the accusations, that being said though just because someone says something doesn’t make it true, especially when opinions with no hard evidence are being asserted. Seriously though guys this is getting a little ridiculous if you have proof that someone is hacking report them, If you don’t have any proof don’t be drama on the forum. less QQ moar pew pew.

That makes me chuckle a little because it soo evil. On the other hand this doesn’t sound like a valid tactic, more like the act of desperation. Some people say spying is a legit tactic too. I think it is in real life its s legit tactic to spy as it requires skills, in this game all it requires is a 1 minute free transfer. Which shows how broken this game really is and not the serious PVP game it was advertised as.

We should stop the speculation until the person who took the screenshot talks to Hollywood and they get a statement from the thief in question. If it is a game bug, it could be pretty difficult to recreate. In the screenshot, I couldn’t see him inside the tower, it just looked like a dead person in a very reachable spot. Let’s not assume things.

I agree that’s the purpose of that screeny showing me hiding inside the wall. I was able to recreate it. I’m tired of coming to the forums and seeing things posted accusing people of cheating though. This is not the place to do that. As far as the learn to play comment this game is very complex there are many intricacies about it especially in WvW. I never knew I could hide here till I tested it on my own. Just saying I don’t know if this guy was using fly hacks but the screen shot doesn’t prove that he was, and based on my investigation the screen shot proves nothing. Can you elaborate on what I’m supposed to see here? I see a dead player and no indication of foul play. Post screenshots of consequential evidence if you are going to accuse players, or an entire guild for that matter, of cheating. We’ve been over this before, but those who cheated were kicked and the situation was handled. Let’s not make the mistake of one, generalizing a whole guild as cheaters and two, assuming anyone who appeared to be hiding in a tower or keep was cheating. Let’s keep in clean here. The report feature exists for a reason and if you think he was cheating let the powers that be make that designation. I see one player there and not a guild so let’s not go calling out a group of players who had responded to the transgressions by former guild members.

Any server with a strong Oceanic presence. Note some higher tier don’t have strong oceanic presence they just have one the 2 are not the same.

OP thought if his character was naked and guildless that other players wouldn’t kill him in the jumping puzzle. OP was wrong and got killed and thought that if he went to the forum to QQ that would make them stop killing him or he could figure out why he got killed in a PVP zone.

Some people out there wont attack you in the JP they say they do it out of the goodness of their heart or whatever lol. In fact they themselves just dont want to be attacked in the jumping puzzle so they dont engage hoping that others wont engage them.

Been great this week. SoR has a lot to learn about defending. BG got a tarnished reputation due to the acts of a few, lets hope next week is different and we don’t see insane point increases due to cheating. IOJ they are like the little engine that could, Awesome I hope next week we will be better for everyone.

Its not fair to lay the blame on an entire server for exploiting. However there is plenty enough blame to go around it seems. Its also not fair to blame 1 player or 1 guild when multiple players and other guilds are knowingly participating. Don’t try to scapegoat BlackGate.

I enjoyed playing with Lun, GSCH, TW and CDS guilds on SOR but I can no longer be on a server with a SPQR a-h guild leader I hope you understand…whats sad is all the camps I upgraded (1 fully upgraded) were reflipped by me to bg the moment I transferred.

My old guild was SOB so you can see he tried to insult me directly as I was standing a couple of feet away from him still looking in my inventory when he posted that in the chat on purpose and trust me I’ve done way more for SOR server then he ever has. I’m done with him let him talk thinking he’s high and mighty I’m going back to wvw to headhunt SPQR members.

It’s sad to see what happened to you, and sorry to hear that however, It sounds to me like this was the last straw for you and there are other reasons besides this one to leave. So it bothers me to hear that you would go on the forums and make such a spectacle of this.

lol pugs can either be either extremely useful and effective or totally underutilized and mindless with no direction.

Small guilds not so much they can take camps, scout, defend towers without a commander leading them. Taking camps is one if not the most imporant thing to do in WvW.

Pugs on the other hand need to be commanded properly by a commander with good judgement, communication skills are a must and that understands tactics and WvW game mechanics. (majority of commanders I have seen do not fit this mold) When there is no excuse for failure (out manned etc) and your squad fails badly badly look at your commander and see why. Its because all the commander is, is a pug magnet and a place to congregate on the map, so what that commander does effects everything.

Guild Wars Lore was about the 3 human civilizations fighting each other I think correct me if I’m wrong.

Its played out in WvWvW… Areas in WvWvW as well as points of interest and stuff are named after places in that historical event.

These are two very different things. Vengeance is a number 3 skill and has a very long Cool down before it can be used. It is useless 99% of the time. The 1% of the time it is of any use is when the player who killed the warrior does not finish right away.

If you get knocked down while finishing a warrior and you started to finish right away. You still have time to finish a second time before Vengeance is ready that is how slow the skill is.

Not only Can warriors all most never get the skill off in time but when they do they still die unless they have it traited and were lucky enough to kill something which is almost never the case. As almost no warriors trait it, and when its not traited they have a very very very small chance of staying alive if they kill something per RNG.

Eles skill is a # 2 skill it is totally different they can use it almost right away, and if they manage to get away and self res they get to stay alive.

You are mixing apples and oranges. Learn to play the game. Learn to finish people and quit QQing on the forum asking for nerfs because you are a bad player and don’t know what your talking about or doing.

After seeing a similar thread I had the Idea of asking these questions to get an idea of who hates Ascended gear and why. Put a 1 if you agree 0 if you don’t next to the questions.

I was 80 in the 1st 3 weeks of game launch and fully geared in exotics by the time the Trading post had started working. I have never spent a dime on this game and have 3 sets of exotic gear and every weapon is exotic.

This game is so easy to level and make money in. I think like a full set of Exo gear is what about 15g? I can farm 15g in like 15 hours probably. People didn’t rush to end game content its that it just doesn’t take that long to reach it. If you took your time and were slow fine. But you didnt need to do that. By the way I have 100% map completion so don’t say I didn’t experience the game and rushed…. It just isnt that hard.

Call it a touch of alt-itis if you like, I have 2 80s, a 58, and a 26. I never said leveling was too hard or too long, I only said I thought I would have more time to grind out dungeon skins. The two issues are not connected.

Find a large PVE guild and join it. Or go to another server where a lot of PVErs are at. Some server have huge PVE populations and PVE guild other servers are more WVW orientated.

Not really you never wondered why there was no legendary armor but there was legendary weapons? Or why when you look on the map all the areas are not done? Crystal Desert comes to mind there is a asura portal to it but no map? They spent 5 years developing the game no everything shipped with it.

As for “free content”, nothing is truly free. Don’t think your time is without value.

Ya guess who it is costing a-net. a-net doesn’t require you to spend time on the game you do that of your own free will.

This content did not come with the game. Its free content unless you have to pay to experience it. You are not required to buy gems. Nothing is free it costs AN money to release this content, it cost you nothing in return. If you chose to buy gems it was for the gems not the content.

Edit: Just because you bought gems does not make you entitled to anything as that was voluntary.

Before precursors only came from Mystic Forge. Now precursors have a chance to drop from mobs and chests its not exclusive to the event.
