sorry folks. functionality that existed in gw1 and previously in gw2 was fine. thanks for jumping in my post and pointlessly trying to wreck what was my suggestion by trying to make it sound like i was trying to say something that i wasn’t. class act.
bought another account tonight. so an entire years worth of effort for my character gone gg (i’ve started a whole new one under a new account so the minor could continue to play his under this one and mine goes to waste :S ).
& btw… “sharing” accounts and having a minor whom you are 100% responsible for as a parent click on the launch icon on your computer (as he has no clue what the password is… if it fails to log in, he doesnt play… and therefore wouldn’t quite be considered “shared” anyway) are I think 2 different things. way to blow things a bit out of proportion there folks. had he been somewhere else, playing on another computer, and i given him my account, he used it to log in and we had to coordinate who was playing & when yea… i could see that as a problem. splitting hairs. problem solved. mods feel free to lock this thread.
It takes a little more than a day to make a new level 80 character and deck it out in exotics. What exactly have you done that took a year of play? Even making a legendary only takes about a month or 2.
Unfortunately the rules are the rules. They are not open for personal interpretation. If protecting your assets was a priority in the first place, and the kid had all his gw1 stuff linked with this account… YOU should have made a new account for yourself before you even started playing.

So then the OP is mad that arenanet didn’t cater a content update to his rule breaking.
I ignore up levels unless they attack me. They are still learning and I don’t think it’s fair to ruin their day.

I personally would like a more competitive and skilled gaming environment. There is nothing I learn better from than someone beating me severely. So when given the opportunity, I will punish a lesser skilled player severely, in the hopes that they will learn something and become a better player.
Games these days allow lesser skilled players to have easier access to success/rewards and thus, they never need to grow and get better. I am not an elitist, I used to be terrible at video games. The only reason I ever got better is because older games were very unforgiving and if you didn’t learn quick you were going to have a bad time.
I’ve often have players request to join my party. On rare occasion they are nice and we share advice and information. When they are mean spirited I will troll them to no end. The best way to do this is to offer them legitimate advice on how to beat you, and then watch the next time as they don’t heed your advice and get stomped again, and again.
Also if I am playing an uplevel, and I am beating a capped level 80 player, you can expect me to humiliate them. A good /dance or flute party usually does the trick. Don’t have any uplevels currently though, time to get more character slots!
I punish anet staff because….. I don’t feel like they care about me.

Implement an angle of view limiter in wvw.
Spvp has different skill values, durations etc. wvw has more stat variety, build variety, use of foods to synchronize with builds, etc etc.
It has been added to the anet bug fix list. I will be patched soon after skill lag and a cabbage patch in harathi hinterlands that has far too much cabbage.
Please stop saying Anet have just screwed up another thing etc, and let’s try to give constructive feedback so they can fix or rollback the update quickly. This is the best way to get a result.
Like when we suggested a rollback when players duplicated thousands of siege (including omegas) and didn’t get banned for it?
Oh wait they didn’t do that for us.
Also WvW isn’t meant to be balanced.

Yeah always thought it was strange when using 2 of th same weapon and your one arm hangs limp if you aren’t using those skills constantly. Pistol pistol thief and engi look very silly.
Still waiting for the emergency wvw patch so we can see effects. Oh wait it’s not pve so it’s not an emergency. My mistake.
+1 to the idea of anet testing these massive game changes prior to release.
There is not enough Diminished Rewards and daily-limited content.

Remove all Global Cool-downs from traits, food buffs, sigils, runes. Just turn them off. (Except Quickness ones. :P)
This would make WvWvW a bit crazy mind you, but it would be a direct counter to Zerging, if I am able to become really powerful alone and take on some people (which IMO, is how it should be.) then people would zerg a bit less and it would make zerging a bit harder. This is how it used to be, because someone with Omnomberry Pies could heal up from a bunch of people who stacked up.
This would also make AOE procs and damaging abilities a lot more damaging the more people inside them.
I’m really glad you don’t work on this games balancing team.

I disagree with this statement. I understand what you mean but here is how I would phrase it:

All game companies should be constantly trying to refine their game. Japanese business philosophy “kaizen” meaning constant improvement. “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” doesn’t work in this modern world.
Yet that server is in second place. O what happens during the day?
Maybe it’s because they didn’t like that you exploited a bug which allowed you to duplicate thousands of golems, and that arena net didn’t ban anyone for it.

LOL at Don Foe, the “asura commander” I am referring to does get rallied frequently in all engagements, but it’s more fun that way, as each time I down him he has progressively less hp and eventually just falls over dead. Then his zerg tries to mass res him and hands the enemy a free wipe of the fear ball. It’s very entertaining and predictable. It’s great having that much power as one player. More often he just runs away though now after the fist 2 downs. It’s learning.
I also enjoy when he uses different guild tags to try and avoid it, like that’s fooling anyone.
P.S. don’t point that “chest thump” finger around…. You might not like where that finger ends up! (Hint: OP of this thread and the entire FEAR guild)

Nope. Entire game designed for being on foot. If they added mounts they would need to take away swiftness, make larger maps, make quests take longer, etc etc. Won’t happen.
The real problem is revealed not popping on whiffed attacks. If a thief presses an attack button they need to leave stealth immediately. Fixes BP/HS and Backstab all in one go. Brings the really good thief players into line with every other glass burst roamer, and brutally destroys all the bad ones
erm no. This isn’t how it should work. I believe if you hit a block however, it should revealed debuff you. But that’s an entire block system overhaul. Which I doubt would happen. Stealth only lasts so long, and thieves are very predictable, it’s just about what weapons they are using.
It’s not about what the thief can do, it’s about your lack of knowledge of what the thief can do….. GW2 is a game of counters. To know how to counter someone you need to know what their class is capable of. You need to be able to read what weapons they are using, what their secondary weapons are, what utility skills they use, their skill cooldowns, and very good players can even read what build an opponent is using.
I’m so very tired of people who know nothing about their opponent talking like they should be able to beat them…..
d/p thief is a one trick pony build. Stand in their black powder to force a revealed debuff or force them to stop stealthing. Or just kite when you see them blackpowder. It’s incredibly tedious for them to do it. So just keep kiting them forever and laugh everytime you see the blackpowder circle. Or drop a stealth trap on them and laugh maniacally as you pummel them into the ground. Thieves for the most part are not intelligent enough to know when they have hit a stealth trap. Watch with glee as they continually try to re-stealth and waste all their cooldowns and initiative.
/point and /laugh at them to amplify the entertainment factor.

While what I want a sexy male equivalent of each sexy female armor set, preferably making them look much more similar, this could also work the other direction. There are many male armor sets that you may think look awesome, but the female equivalent shows far more skin. I think that each set should look the same, show comparable amounts of skin, on both males and females, so that players don’t feel they are left out of an awesome armor set just because of the gender of their character.
Have to agree to this. I have only one female character, out of 16, and it’s a charr… which doesn’t count. The reason I don’t have any is because I really don’t like how all pieces of armor have to look pretty/fluffy/skimpy on females. If I have a female warrior, I want her to look like a seasoned WARRIOR. Not a cosplay girl….
I deleted a few female characters because of this, and as a result I have none now.

There are 2 different vendors. 1 sells for some badges and some gold. The other sells the OLD gear (soldiers stats) for just badges, which is a lot more badges.

I’d love to see them add more uniqueness to the races. I don’t like how they made all of them the same, with the exception of racial abilities (which are a joke, and are impossible to balance for each profession)
Yup, with 16 characters there is no point for me to ever buy dyes. If they were account bound I would most certainly invest in some of the nicer ones. But for now… I buy nothing.

I think condition removal order is based on the order in which they were applied, but I forget which way it goes.
I don’t believe this to be true, at least not with torment. It always gets cleansed last, every single time. I cannot get it to cleanse until it is the very last condition left on me.

I personally have always enjoyed in MMOs when classes have an armor skin set or 2 that are unique to the class. Everyone just looks the same, no matter what class they are…

Anets proposed ideas look fantastic to me. If you earn your MF you will still have it.
Torment seems to be last in line for cleansing, unlike it’s brother bleed damage which has high priority.
When skills are used to convert conditions into boons (like traited warrior warhorn) the torment condition goes away, but isn’t converted into anything.
Wondering if the trait “Shrug It Off” procs the condition cleansing of a full set of soldiers runes, meaning it would cleanse 2 conditions. I hear it will proc the heal from shout heals, was unsure about the runes though.
I don’t even play flamethrower engineer, it’s just an example of skills that need balancing so they can function in wvw. There is no reason why flamethrower should proc 10 hits every auto attack. If they lowered it to something like 3… it would be fine.
I guess “playing clever” is never using your auto attack with a weapon kit, ever, for fear that ONE person in that group of anywhere from 2-60 players might have retaliation. Or even better, be running a 100% retaliation uptime build. I’m sure that’s the way the game should work. End sarcasm.
I don’t concern myself with the opinions of tier 3 and 8 EU players on game balancing.

You SHOULD lose your stacks when you change to a new map. It would be unfair if you moved a large force into a new map and everyone had 25 stacks….
If you are so worried about your stacks, get a secondary set of weapons (mainhand and offhand) with your stacking sigil in both, equip them, kill stuff fast, then go back to your main weapons. This is what dedicated players do.

Large forces map hopping is already a big issue that is dragging down wvw. If people retained their stacks servers could just megazerg karma train and map hop with even more power.
Imagine yourself on the receiving end for a moment… how would you like it if all of a sudden a huge force zones into your map all with 25 stacks?
Play clever, I have never had trouble with retal. They nerfed the damage by 50% it is fine now.
Go use an engi flamethrower on 2 guardians with retaliation. 8000 damage to yourself every auto attack….
blue items also wont soulbind. I’ve even used greens. don’t buy white items from vendors to do it, won’t work.
What you are describing is the same affect as shooting without a target (arrows go straight down into the ground).
Actually this isn’t how it works. It’s just that’s where your camera is pointed. You CAN manually aim in this game. I find with my character set to default center, the point in which projectiles will fire on most characters and races is right where their head is located on screen. So if you place your characters head over what you want to shoot at…. it should hit that general area. I have used this rarely to set up things like a manual piercing killshot, but it’s risky and difficult.
It wouldn’t be for no reason, it would still be a convenience item, as it has been since its creation.
After a while you’d get tired of transferring them around and say to yourself “Gee I wish I had just bought a few of them back then so I didn’t have to move them around all the time…” oh but wait! you already did!
And yet people would still feel cheated by the fact that they were “forced” to buy several of them and then suddenly that would no longer be the case.
