yes exactly. This is what i would do it. I don´t mess around with water :-). But this is propably more personal style. Earth is a lot damage mitigation and if you need water to heal/survive you have already failed …
Necro is a good example. You winn by killing him before he releases his third corrupt/condi bomb, then you die. Bind, bolt, knockdown, lighning storm, phönix him dead, while you swallow by block and cleanse the second wave …. He either panics and dies or you melt :-). Keep obsidian for the savestomp …
Condi mesmers are painful …. You can only beat them if you don´t loose target much. So its a heavy L2P issue and even taht won´t help against good mesmers …

Late game solo condition build?

My daughter is using an easy to get illusion build without cronomancer to do map completion. All of this includign backpack is about 200 gold. Most of it is the backpiece. Air sigil can be cheap blood sigil too.
Basicall this maintains three illusions out and shatters only as long as it can maintain constant three out.

Never recorded a video (for anythin. have to look at a tool). But i can try.
It basically destroys power builds but has troubles with condi mesmers, but this might also be a L2P issue. Also traiting for diamond skin can be better in many cases …

Guess is will try raids to get a trailblazer or viper amulet here to finalize it.
I usualy use precision oil because it ads greatly to damage potential. Food varies.

And well i think durability rune should not have an area effect sharing its boons. It´s OP with that …. The build shines in very small scale combat. I win 2:2 with a friend quite easy. He usualy has the potential to catch someone fleeing which this lacks. Perma swiftness and FSG is its only mobility.

The rune is very powerful itself. The Area effect should be removed and only be self … Maybe you can add 1 or 2 seconds to its resistance as compensation ….

I also use a gaming mouse (rocat). I have F1 + F4 on the top latch and bound F3 + F2 near my arrow keys which i use for moving so i can hit them with my little finger.
so i move with arrow keys and did bind sourounding ones to things like targeting + jump + F2/F3 On the mouse i have 0-9 + F1/F4.

I run a total hybrid. But it´s very personal and maybe not everyones taste.

Basically i mixed viper + celestial with durability rune for having a good mix of survivability and hybrid punch. I did cange a rabid ascended to viper in the forge and use mostly celestial trinkets + backpack.

A damage ele just disintegrates if more then one tarkgets him or a thief want´s his head …
I play a damage oriented ele and while its fun and can somtimed be amazing, it just vaporizes against a good oposing team …. And don´t talk about below average skill because a good player in a high damage build against them will be like a fox in a hen-coop.

Give us profession based mmr, no class stacking in queues even if people are premade, and no class swapping.

It will create much better matches and will make it impossible for players to stack a match so the comp is in their favor. Plus it will allow other players to get used to new classes before competing at a level their main is at.

Completele support this. Well maybe one class can be +1 (out of premade) to compensate class distributuion because if 30% in Q are one class matchmaking for them won´t work annymore and you can´t or should not force people to abandon the class they like to play.

I know that condi ele can´t kill bunker ele well … In high level play where you always face another ele in a teamfight it looses much potential … In WvW i don´t play pure condi, because it´s damage is often to onesided and low.

Only the condi mesmers are a nemesis for this one. Unfortunately they are very common :-/. I am thinking to use cele rings too but the round numers are so nice :-).
It´s an allround build without water that plays well for me. And it still has good regen uptime without water or torrets. Seems arcane gets forgotten after hot … And the CO bug on OL when swaping sucks …

Hi Dahir. :-). Condi ele is fun to play and it rips others appart by surprise.
In pvp when facing enemy condi builds i do run sage like you. Just that i always run soldier rune with shouts in PvP because its just to good and wins you the teamfights.
And i run scepter/focus. The ability to use range combined with OL und cleansing flame close is a good tactical advantage.
Meta? No definitly not but i can play it and win with it. Just played wvw with a freind´s nero riping apart 2:3 and 4 … Well in those outnumbered fights obsidian flesh savestomp is a winner …
But i run it difrent. No water in WvW. I get killed by mesmers due to that but the rest is very good to handle.

It´s a bit of work … I did it despite being something like 70% WvW, 20% PvP and 10% PvE.
Lately i did Auric Basin meta events to get my gear. ombined with a 500 tailor and gold from WvW and PvP i crafted rabid gear changing pieces in the forge to viper… And i got the durability rune… Trying to get aurillium only from PvP would have needed eons … I would realy like more of the zone currency for WvW or PvE tracks …

I would definitly go for three diffrent borderland maps alpine/desert/X and rotate them through the three realms each day. X can even be a reworked EB and EB completely droped ….

Quite happy with defence/strength/zerker and i don´t use endure or defy pain ^^.
Kill or die :-). But i still need a lot training and build optimisation adapted to me. I don´t care about meta, i catch by surprise and play what i can master best.

I am not shure if S3 is so bad. Well it more or less forces you to 50/50 which gets grindy …
But when your MMR goes down not only your team gets weaker players, also the oposing team (even if its a bit above you). So if you actually good with your class you can be the winner and even carry. In S2 when you got paired with very high MMR´s compared to your team you had been doomed to loose.
And don´t balme matchmaking for player bahavior. AFK ing, playing for backpack or daily with untrained classes is not a matchmaking issue. Well its a design thing puting rewards badly …
So basicaly i would say if your skill with the currently played class is above your MMR, you will win more and with your MMR going up it will move to 50/50. If you play below your MMR you might loose more and not only you.. the entire team.
I think ist mainly in human nature. Best would be all play the class they are best with, and also try hard till the end if in ranked… In reality you won´t have 10 people doing this and only one can loose the match for his team …

Condi mesmer is freaking strong and anoying in WvW. Something like wanderer + perplexity is hated by most ….. It´s the only class/build i usualy can´t beat in a duel …
I fear its quite unbalaced … A good warrior might get it sometimes a thief

I enjoy tempest and i play my personal hybrid build which is nearly finalized now.
I do have weaknesses and it is made for small scale combat. I have no fear to duel. I can´t fight perplexity mesmers(crono) with it in a reasonable way but thats more or less it.
And of course there are better players out that will beat me but i usualy catch good players too by surprise. After they are down its more or less WTF was that it looked like fresh air, felt like cele bunker and killed me like a condi zerker?

I am also not a mesmer professional but levling mesmer and playing him solo in PvE to do map completion plays easier then other classes for me.
Did it with staff + Sword/Sword combination. I recomend staff and thus learning to use it´s nr2 teleport which is great.
No special equipement till 80 just what i got from levling and drops … Keep power/precision up and if you have condition damage too fine.
Then do a bit crafting and if you like to train PvP you can get books there.
Basicall my build works with illusions and is based on doing lots of critical hits shattering no very often to maintains three illusions out.

i don´t know your build. Thief depends on it heavily.
With focus i beat dragon hunters quite easy, but you need some punch to actually kill.
This is a training issue. Fight dragon hunters and use swirling winds and especially magnetic wave at the right time. With tempest you might have another reflect.
For traps doge, obsidian flesh if you want to assault him or even earth overload works well.
Thiefs are hard to beat. They disengage more or less at will. Against a thief you need to hit him very hard at once to actually kill him. My first month i lost most fights. The thief attacked, disengaged, attacked, disengage, attack … kill … Now the don´t kill me anymore but good ones just escape. So don´t be sad if you get low thief kills.
What helps against most thiefs is a bit of armor and earth atunement. I regulaly beat them using stone heart, but in earth you can´t kill him if he cleanses the bleeding (like cleanse on dodge). So agaisnt a thief you need burst (condi works too) to actually kill him or he will reset as he pleases. Flash freeze is a good spell if the thief cloaks. I keep it for that moment to eiher slow him and in addition to get a clue where he is.

Things I tried:
-timing/spotting burst with Earth Overload or Obsidian flesh
Against DH this works well to mitigate his damage. For thiefs it only buys you a few seconds. The earth overload can catch him with luck.
-switching to water but not Overloading right away to bait an interrupt (though thieves still shut it down)
Water is quite weak in this fights. For me all feels to slow. Sometimes the interrupt from comet is nice but the only reason i go for water OL is when there is no other option left or heal the team. For me water often feels like consuming to much time. In duels or unter high preassure in general its more of a finish me call.
-putting distance between us, with lightning flash, when I need to heal
This doesn´t work well aginst good players wit gap closers and thief + DH usually have that. You can´t kite this classes well. Kiting DH is for avoiding traps but otherwise not helpful.

But i play a more offensive hybrid. I attack them as much as possible. I use fire/air/earth most of the time and water only very short inbetween to fetch a regen or interrupt. This means wait for ele goes water OL fails against me ^^. I mitigate damage while constantly trying to hit and don´t put on permaregen.

Yes you have mesmer, necro and warrior as condition calsses and two of then is very common often more. But i had on today without condi ….
Its pretty balaced in mix and this means you always need to deal with power and condi
Th shout CD nerf was evil. I hate it as long as we don´t get -20 CD on souts in tempestous aria, which might make a non bunker build useful…. Maybe not enough for meta but playable …

For me mace is a control weapon with average damage and should not be condi.
So replacing the daze and and all condition with a 2sec stun woul perfeclty fit it. Less damage and lower stun duration then normal F1 but in zerker more often.

Agree to BrotherBelial. I am an OK ele player but not very good with warrior. And here i notice it. I bring down a bad player quite recless and fast with my CC and gap closers, but am outplayed by the good ones unless i hit somthing like head but at the right time by luck …

this is what many suggest. Lower CD for arcane shield or put the ICD of blinding ashes back to 5 sec (I know its unpopular because if its random/passive nature but it fits).
A stronger CD reduction of -33% on elemental surge and maybe -20% swap time red instead of -15% might give arcane a chance. It´s mostly in fire and arcane line to give back more offensive builds (air is in an OK spot except glyphs, and water is strong since i can remember …). Arcane is a more hybrid with all the boons, but it´s the line where you need L2P for getting most out of it. I recently did go back to arcane and enjoy it again, but it still lacks and leaves me with shouts.

Well condi meta is easy to play. You land the burst save for healing and apply enough dangerous conditions. Unless there is an ele or someone build against conditions you win in the long run. In addition you have good CC.
While i am not against conditions and think they should have a place, it feels misplaced on warrior. I prefer CC + burst warior.
Warrior is a hardcounter to conditions himself when using berserkers stance. Only necromancer with boon corrupt can break this, but he is often susceptible to CC and i did feel it myself when i chainstun one to death which goes quick with power warrior ;-).

I should fight one. I expect a very long fight but i guess he will loose. In PvP this might be a problem due to extreamly long fights and so point holding even in 1:2. Don´t realy know because i don´t meet them. Even P/P seems more common ….

I am wondering why skull grinder is so condition heavy. Not only that it doesn´t fit the weapon it supports the rising condition builds which feels a bit much.

So what would happen is skull grinder is similat to skull cracker. 20% More direct damage with 2 sec stun not three and no conditions?

As soon as you build ele as glass cannon, you get killed with two hits. I prefer more offensive hybrids.
Protection is the base for ele to survive, but with the low health this won´t rescue him unless he heals. I personaly can hold myself using weakness and not regen but without a good heal on 6 i would stand no chance with and offensive/hybrid build. I tried a lot and only wash did work well. I prefered arcane briliance before but the damage did increase and the healing from it is not sufficient. Glyph and signet are also to low and aether renewal is to slow, i need the time to do preasure not to run in circles …
So power creep killed all heals except wash …

HoT Open World PvE D/D help please

If its pure HOT PvE shure. Go berserker + scolar and evade damage.
I would go fire or air/arcane/tempest for DPS using traited arcane with perma ferocity buff + glyph of storms. Force + energy sigil should work well.

Make conjures elemtalist only.
When conjured elementalist gains the conjured weapon without charges and elemental swaping gets disabled.
Lasts till droped, which gives back ele swaping.

Then change conjurer to give with a 20% CD reduction instead of charges.

I now try axe/WH instead of rifle. It´s because i needed speed in WvW and now learn to play it. Not so happy being pure melee but seems to work well enough. the hits can be devastingly huge. I swap berserkers stance in dependign on oposing team. From playstyle i prefer shatterstone but from environement i have stance in more …
I this succsessfuly you with stun or knockdown you are mostly done …
An taunt realy helps in this build. the build doesn´t have high stunbreak or stab but just enough for the assault.

HoT Open World PvE D/D help please

I think marauder(at least parially) is better then zerker. Especially when you want to go to WvW sometimes. I am not a friend of scolar rune. But it´s high damage for PvE.
So i would prefer marauder armor with hoelbrak rune and do might stacking to have one set PvE + WvW but this is my personal preference not to swap armor sets for game modes and do a bit less damage in PvE and it´s more staff oriented. If you want to go maximum DPS for raids scolar is a propably the best option. Other good damage runes are strength or pack.
I personal run scepter + focus nearly all the time with a mix of viper, celestial and rabid.
Its not dps maximized to power or condi but a powerful all rounder which i can run around and solo with ease.

Indeed double warrior is getting quite common. But it doesn´t feel so bad as double necro last season. But i agree that the sustain buff was good, condi output from some weapons is not aproriate. Burning fro LB, bleed from sword and gunfalme is OK, the rest doesn´t need condies and it results in nearly all builds spaming conditions.
I play power warrior and i ask myself WTF when i strike with skull grinder … Its a power weapon. The daze seems reasonable but the conditions ?
Well at least i kill the condi warriors with the power version quite easy ^^.
Since i play only ele and power warrior, condi warriors don´t realy hurt me, but the increasing numbers like necro last season might be a sign ….

duo – pray you don’t fight against a 5 man team and your other 3 team mates are okay
tri – pray you don’t fight against a 5 man team and your other 2 team mates are okay
quad – LETS DO THIS!

solo q in s3?
pray real hard that your 4 other team mates are okay while the other 5 opponents are below your level and your team mates level.

I think if you want to progress in a reasonable time this is reality ….
If you just want to have resonable good matches then its OK to solo. but don´t expect much more then 50:50 …

Remove confusion from mace primal burst and increase power damage scaling and its done there. For the bow i don´t know, i rarely use it and i also have no problems with warriors conditions, i have more problems to break their sustain now … fights are way longer.

You mean its wrong to not completely swap gear?
Indeed if you want to play staff ele serious then yes. But i rarely use staff. I do it if i need the extra range for a moment. I basically dislike playing very large fights and avoide blobs ;-).
Or did you mean something else?

I still can´t say if they are over the top. Their survivability got a heavy boost. I have a hard time killing them so they are quite bunkerish now. On the other side if you bring good condi defence they are far less dangerous then power warrior and can´t kill me.
So it moved from something like 50:50 to a stalemate. At least for me.
When i play it myself (just power not condi) I now can perform much better. Always had a survival problem which is now gone and i die to bad play not by sustain lack.
They needed a buff but not realy shure this version was the best choice. Maybe for A-net by narrowing down builds and boosting zerker so defence + berserker is now madatory and thus balance is easier ….

Just adding is to dangerous. It will add to power creep which we don´t need and controling balance would become harder.
But opening elite slot for normal utility will open flexibility without serious power creep. But don´t be blind. Even this might give more power to some builds/classes.

You missed my point entirely.

There are people who only want their wins.
There are people who just want to “have fun and goof off”.

Their goals are different. Pairing them together is a recipe for disaster. In the end people will get at each other’s throats and nothing good will come of it.

It should work if divisions seperate players per skill… but this process is not finalized and a mess… And the multiple profession thing causing players to use multiple professions burns the cake … I am a good examle. I main elementalist and can stand against most very competative. If i play my alt warrior i would not dare to say i am worth saphire + and if i use anything else more then amber is to much ….
So lets say i made it to diamond with ele and then want the backpiece ….. Hooray …..

I usualy go into a teamfight front up (covering myself with obsidian flesh if focused) setting swirling winds to cover the team aproach + firing rebound in earth afterwards to kick in magnetic aura after winds end (then i fall back to range support and healing). This results in 10 seconds of missile defence for the team and will decide the outcome if oponents try to use projectiles …
And if traps were set up i just trigger them. There was a match against three DH.
I called to the team let me go first …. It was forest and we came up the stairs the DH´s waiting on the point. I did go in earth, fire rebound overloading straight through the point firing obsidian flesh when reaching the point (stab from OL coverd my aproach!)
Magnetic kicked in after invul when i reached the other side and shooting after me was pointless …

Game over. All traps triggered, DH´s focused down by the following team within seconds …

I think this one of the main causes for ranting. But you will find it in unranked too and you will always have toxic people around.

One of the best solutions would be to give all gear and daily related rewards only in unranked…. (reward track for both is OK)
For ranked i would give skins depending on division reached and thats it.Not a legendary backpack requiring multiple classes in ranked … this was a bad idea mixing all reward and often PvE oriented players (and forcing them into classes the can´t play) with competative PvP players … Lots of People will always hunt rewards and don´t care about the rest …
