Just stick to your ascended Berserker’s gear. As others have said, it has trouble with moving targets, which is most enemies in the new areas. Regardless, craft yourself an exotic set if you have spare coin and curiosity for it and carry both sets in your bags.

Personally, as awkward as sword is, it’s like most things on Ranger: close to hitting the mark but falls short. It would be fine if they removed the leap range from 1b and 1c, upped the targets 1b can hit from 1 to 3, lower cripple duration of 1b from 2s to 1-1½s, and add ¾-1s of Super Speed to 1c so people can still pursue targets without getting locked.
The distance with super speed falls about 30 units (range) behind the current 430 while in combat, but without the “stick.” It would be like a compromise for both sides (I guess). No stick, allows dodge in the auto chain, keeps the unique animations without changing it to the standard ones, full cleave on the chain, and retains a decent measure of catching up to targets.

I still would be fine if no CC was compensate for the damage loss, BUT give more utility like reduce its CD to 35s, and it also removes chill and cripple. I personally use it more to create distant than for its stunbreak.
Pretty much this. Remove the damage and have LR also cleanse cripple and chill. CD can even remain the same.

Still waiting on this…
We are, indeed, reading.
We particularly take time to read the constructive and well-crafted feedback posts.
I don’t want to make promises, which as many of you have pointed out can go horribly awry for a variety of reasons, but we are hoping to make some changes to the old ranger shouts (pre-WHAO & SotP).

Anyone tried Condi Ranger yet on Sabitha or Gor? Thinking the stationary and bigger hit box, respectively, a (condi) Ranger would fare better there.

I like most of the new pets overall. I’ve found a use for 4 of the 5 of them. Fire Wyvern… not so much.

Stone Spirit and Spirit of Nature’s boons from Nature’s Vengeance actually does scale. I’m not going to argue this point, but I will say that those boons have a 1s base duration, which makes it difficult to judge if it is working with boon duration or not.
Images below are with 76% boon duration. Protection and Stability are increased to 1¾s.

Except that Staff auto has no functionality without a target. Literally the tip of your staff lights up.
Same as Mesmer GS. Just lights up and doesn’t deal damage unless there’s a target for the beam. Can’t gain AF on full health targets anyways, and can’t hit anything with no targets on Mesmer GS. Might as well lock Spatial Surge and watch the Mesmer players flip out.

Bug has been reported months ago, but I guess it’s low on the priority list. Of all the Spirits so far, only Frost and Storm do not have their boon durations affected when traited for Nature’s Vengeance.

While I agree with the reasons (to an extent) on why Spirits Unbound should return, since Anet was against it, if it were to come back, it would come with a price.
Most likely outcome is the removal of the health buff from Nature’s Vengeance. Which, for better or worse, might be fair.

HS already gives condi cleanse. Why would you want it to give Resistance too?
Was, more-or-less, a reply to what Mcrocha posted. I personally want Vigor attached to it as there was a Ranger trait before that applied Vigor when you used a healing skill, and with HS, it gave it to all allies. I wouldn’t mind seeing that quasi-revived as part of TE for HS.

Worked out nicely. The daze with traps providing AOE damage to proc Ancient Seeds to also keep targets in the traps was the main purpose when I threw this together. Geomancy was icing on the cake.
Activating “Strength of the Pack” for raven summons prior to traps and staff swap for might I could bum off my pet with “We Heal as One” made solo encounters in HoT maps and story segments much shorter.

I did a budget healer-condition set for soloing open-world and personal story on my 2nd Druid. I don’t use it anymore, but I was in the same situation as you are with a full Cleric’s Druid, and changed it up so I could kill stuff (faster) when solo.

Wiki is outdated on the Bristleback stats. In game, Bristlebacks and Devourers have equal toughness, vitality, and precision. Wiki is pretty outdated on a lot of stuff concerning Druid on a whole.
Edit: Bristleback stats on the wiki were taken from the reveal during Twitchcon/BWE3.

Kind of wanted HS to give 3s of Vigor when traited for TE, only because Anet is so protective on giving out Resistance, so I know Ranger will never ever receive it.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
have you guys actually played at all today?
they apparently fixed the bristleback F2 terrain issue in the patch
Noticed this too. They changed it from (wonky) “free” projectiles to projectiles that travel along the ground (like Path of Scars) so it can reliably hit.

Doubt Irenio hates the class. In my view, he’s done more good for the class than the rest of the balancing team has done in the 2 years Ranger had no dedicated developer for it since Robert Hrouda was laid off.
Unfortunately, the balancing team doesn’t allow individuals assigned/charged with a certain class have their way. As Robert Gee once mentioned in the Mesmer forum, changes he wants to implement on his professions (Mesmer and Necro) had to be pushed for approval.
Whether that approval is a group thing or a single person (Lead Designer), heads need to start being unjammed from their own kitten.

Last I checked, if you can handle the dual role of tank & healer, cleric is fine. Zealot (and all other mixes of gear with healing power without or little toughness) are those that want to just heal.
I’ll say that if one prefers/is comfortable with the tank & healer setup, skip Cleric’s and go Nomad’s.

If the 10s ICD is kept, up the scaling with healing power. If not, reduce the heal and remove the ICD. Only way I’d ever use this Spirit.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
Would rather have the base immobilization upped from 1½s to 2s and the number of targets increased from 3 to 5.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
Trait for mobile spirits, sure. But first, they still need to fix Frost and Storm Spirit boon durations to work when traiting for Nature’s Vengeance.

Might as well remove the damage from Solar Beam at this point. This elite spec can only get worse.

Didn’t see anything there about the circle on SC, but I’ll take their usual word for a fix coming… soon™.

Apparently the devs are aware of the problem and trying to fix it.
Source? Or do we have to check Twitter again…

So, basically, they slapped a 12s ICD on a trait because they couldn’t be bothered to program it so it would proc a bit after to prevent exploits. Awesome.

They sure do love placing 12-second ICDs on Ranger traits. Shocked that they didn’t place an ICD on Wilting Strike, too. Ah, who am I kidding. They’ll add the ICD on that for us for X-mas. Will be our gift =3
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
I don’t know, the scaling seems okay for now, assuming they nudge it up to match the tooltip @ 0.08. But this is Anet, they will just correct the tooltip to match 0.06 instead.

Not sure. I’m pretty content with the fire-and-forget nature of Glyphs so far. If anything, I would rather have the initial and max tether range of Unity be 600 and the option to ground target Alignment.

Not mine but it demonstrates my point. I used staff and Apothecary gear. The auras are good though aren’t they?
Indeed. I’ll try and get an apothecary set for my Tempest to try this out. You have my interest piqued.

As Kodama said, it won’t be a nerf but a fix since its vitality has been messed up since BWE3. Bristleback damage was also nerfed before, but it took place before BWE3 went live, since its auto attack was shown to hit twice during the reveal at TwitchCon.

Wiki is incorrect. It’s 0.08 scaling. My 2nd Druid has 1475 Healing Power and Live Vicariously heals me for 325.
Edit: After some testing. The wiki and tooltip on the trait panel is incorrect. The actual scaling is 0.06, but the tooltip shows a 0.08 scaling.

Might as well toss this into the bug forum in the Ranger Bugs post ran by Taverius. It would be a nice “bump” due to the plethora of other bugs arising since Heart of Thorns release that pushed the topic to the 20th page.

I’m probably within the minority. Simple and elegant solution (for me) would just be a bump for Astral Force on damage to 1% and on heal to 2%.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
That and boon duration only seems to affect Water Spirit’s regeneration when traiting for Nature’s Vengeance. Durations are too short for me to tell on Nature and Stone Spirit, but it’s noticeable with Storm and Frost. It’s like they don’t want Spirits to compete with Heralds :o
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
I’m most likely in the minority on this one. I think Staff 5 is fine as is. On the other hand, Staff 4 could use a minor buff, but not with the addition of extra effects or increased cast time. I would rather the immobilization increased ½s longer so its default duration is 2s and up the number of targets it can affect from 3 to 5.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
Cleric’s or Nomad’s if you don’t mind healing and tanking (assuming you have the highest toughness). Magi if you don’t want to manage both and focus on just healing. I started out using Cleric’s but now I prefer Magi. Experiences and preferences will vary.

I said it before that once the expansion released, communication would dry up, with new bugs piled onto old ones because they will be working on other stuff with the feedback window closed.
Have to wait until the next expansion to give feedback, but even then, look at how that worked with Rangers trying to address core issues while Druid was being tested. Another 3 years, boys n girls!
Or just wait until the need for another Ranger/Druid CDI – and for those that were here during the CDI – we all know how that turned out!

Pre and aftercasts. Lots of pets have this issue of also returning to a default position/stance before they can perform another attack. It’s more apparent on larger and slower pets such as bears and wyverns.

Not even sure if Irenio’s still around. He’s been rather silent since the smokescale change. Hope he didn’t end up like Hrouda and moved to creating temporary living story content, only to be eventually “let go.”
