North Keep: One of the village residents will now flee if their home is destroyed.
“Game over man, Game Over!” – RIP Bill
They’re taking out repair cost in the upcoming patch on the 15th so you won’t have to worry about that soon…
As for your eotm side, all the servers in the same colors are linked, maybe the players in your side are giving up early in eotm matches and switching to another eotm instance. Commanders on your side just need to step up and get counter zergs rolling too.
Eredon Terrace is ranked on the bottom 3 of the NA servers, which means you don’t have the population or coverage to compete with most other servers you may be matched up during the season. For week 2 you are matched against 3rd place servers from matchups which means you will be facing a server 6 ranks higher. Nothing can be done about it now, it’s swiss style tournament rules for the next two months.
They had opened free transfers to the last 3 servers, but unfortunately they also opened free transfers to the rank 13-15 servers so no one was going to move to the last place servers. They’re not going to answer to you, and they will continue to screw around with transfers and never attempt to decently fix the population problems. My advice is to move to a higher ranked server when you can, many guilds and players have woken up and done the same before the season.
Yeah I noticed it was going to be delayed to cities, just really don’t see a need to include it in the megaserver structure at all. Cities are more for banking, auctioning, trades, and social gathering, there is no need to pile people from other servers in there.
And yeah they should have presented the idea months ago and got our feedback instead of rushing this into the feature pack. One day of feedback and they’ve already held back on cities getting it.
I’m sure it’s been mentioned already, not going to read all 18 pages lol, but I really think the major cities should “not” be included in the megaserver system.
Those areas should be left as a space for players to meet with their fellow server mates, they would serve as areas for roleplaying, guild recruitment, wvw call outs, server community events, easier guild meet ups, etc. Without those areas it forces people to go to wvw zones to get access to those functions, and all that will do is flood the wvw zones for no good reason.
The main purpose of the megaserver really is to make the leveling zones more alive and easier access to do the hearts and the dynamic events, it’s definitely needed but not for every single zone in the game.
I’ve leveled to 80.. an elementalist, ranger, necromancer, warrior, another necromancer, and just recently a guardian and that was hard to push. I’ve gotten an engineer to 54, mesmer to like 34, another guardian to like 35.
At this point I’m sick and tired of leveling, most of us cheat and just do tradeskills, or use the books to get to 20 and then extra levels, or do wvw upleveled anyways. I don’t need to go through 80 levels again to learn a class, the first 80 levels was essentially used to learn the game. I only need my class at 80 so I can gear up and play in wvw properly. Some of you forget you can already be level 80 in spvp from day one of the class so already skipping the supposed 80 levels to learn the class.
I would welcome an instant level 80 gem, make it available after getting 2 or 3 characters at 80 if you need to. Right now I have no motivation to level anything else just too boring and painful.
Well, i do agree with you, but whenever someone say “forced” it makes me laugh, like “HAHAHAHA” kind of laugh, its player decision to use something or force the use of it on others, i never felt forced to use anything in this game nor i ever used anything that i didnt want to, the “forced” bit is all just in your head.
So of the 4 titles that were used as an example which of them would you use mostly?
Reason why you wouldn’t allow stats on titles is because some of the titles are limited to the content they’re present in, like needing meta achievements from an event, some might not even be available to get again. With the couple that you could get easily you then force a lot of people to use those titles.
I like the idea, but maybe it would only be limited to a few titles you could get easily at any time. But then you go back to what doggie said, it forces people into using titles they may not want to over others just for a bonus. I still use my Emissary of the Mad King title which I think was only available for the 2012 halloween event.
(edited by Xenesis.6389)
Sorry but I don’t agree with attaching anything else to titles.
Would be nice to have more titles available in game though.
Not sure how necromancer is getting rated so high from some people, #2 fear gets countered most of the time (it really only works like 1 out of 10 times), #3 is pure garbage, look out I’m going to poison you so you don’t heal while piking me!
They should have just made the #2 skill the same for every class, a knockdown of some sort, and #3 the class defining skill, and necros should be aoe fear instead of poison or let me use the rest of my lifeforce for another deathshroud form.
(edited by Xenesis.6389)
I have my aoe loot button setup for the [alt] button and press it often when in fights especially when I see the yellow exp text flashing up. It’s still a pretty kitten system to not have loot automatically go to your inventory on a kill though.
The leagues for NA is broken up by Gold rank 1-6, Silver rank 7-15, Bronze rank 16-24. EU is all 9 ranks.
PVE AP hunters will be in there for the first couple weeks, it will die down like season 1, plus yeah eso next week.
But yeah HOD queues were higher than SoS wtf? lol
Hm the new reward system has gotten me interested in spvp again, dungeon tokens through rewards = nice, now if only some of that would spill over into wvw. Nice changes to make spvp feel rewarding and part of the rest of the game again.
Then those same players rage at Arena.net for not being “transparent” and not letting them know what’s going on until it’s kitten near too late.
It’s lose/lose with you people.
Look, last week when they put up that announcement that the april feature patch was coming, they could have told us the highlights for it at that point, instead they choose to take a week worth of mini blogs to announce parts of it. That is on them trying to hype it up, so whatever built up rage that comes falls on them for that, not the player who they left hanging for a week or more.
As for not letting us know what’s going on I’ll use account wxp as an example. They announced that they were working on that 5 months ago, not a single word on the progress of it was made during that time, except for rumors during eotm testing.
They said no major changes will be made during season 2(ha), they announced season 2 mar 7th no word of account wxp, they gave points reset last week no word on account wxp, now they wait a day before season 2 to announce they’re releasing account wxp. Why did they let us sit here waiting on the number 1 feature wvw players have been waiting on for at least a week, because the announcement blog was last week, but I’m sure they already knew it would be ready at least a month ago.
They are causing the hype and not dealing with it properly, it’s there fault if there’s player backlash. Next time tell us what’s in the patch when you announce it, and go into the details the week after if you want.
Lastly I did not speculate on any of the things they were announcing because I already know that leads to disappointment.
They both have the same points to spend whichever way you want to spend them. So they both will have 150 to spend. Your wxp from then on are pooled so each point you gain on a character, every other character on your account gets it too.
If they don’t want players rage than don’t make vague announcement titles a week before.
It’s really that simple.
Nice, passing off the blame to the company
If YOU speculate about something so much that YOU get hyped up and YOU get disappointed when the truth didnt live up to YOUR hyped up expectations, who’s fault is it? If you missed the hints, it’s yours.
It’s basic psychology. People see whatever the hell they want to see. Take the “Solid Foundation” blog for example. Some people (and highly unrealistically) see it as an announcement for player/guild housing. Yes, because anet can suddenly fit 500 people onto a single map. Some people think it’s to deal with the pre-game of guild wars, the levels where you learn your character, and how to best use them the way you want. Much more reasonable than player housing. Hell, I see it as the announcement to the total overhaul of the guild system so that cross-server and multi-server guilds now have the same benefits (aka upgrades) that single-server guilds can have.
That’s one future discussion, 3 different people (at minimum) with 3 different ideas (at minimum) on what it’s going to be about. All of them could be right, a couple of them, or NONE of them could be correct. It’s our own fault if we get so hyped up over our own delusions that the actuality doesnt meet our expectations.
edit: Quite whining about it not being a “Feature Pack.” We still have over 2 weeks until it’s released, and have no idea what else it’s going to include.
No the blame still falls on the company because they are the ones releasing vague titles trying to hype their announcements in the first place. They want us to sit here happy with glee speculating on what they are bringing. Then they release something like no more repair cost for a blog titled Removing Restrictions, which frankly most people would think big on that one.
They could have been more considerate to their customers and taken at most 2 days to blog about the release, not a week, and announced it earlier. This is just them trying to hype this patch as much as possible to counter eso release, which at this point is too kitten late.
They kept their mouths shut for far too long, so it’s hard to get excited for most of the changes at this point. Certainly didn’t need to drag the announcements out over a week.
Also this makes outmanned buff in wvw even more useless.
Don’t you see, this whole trolling, slow-rolling, drip-dripping rollout is entirely and exactly timed to coincide with ESO early access opening. That by the way is at 7 a.m. ET on March 28. Regular access ESO launches on 4/4, the same day ast the last scheduled GW2 blog post reveal. Coincidence? Yeah, right…
It’s called marketing. It’s not trolling, this is how the entire World work.
Except it’s too late and people have already committed to getting eso even for just the free month. Wvw players have been jerked around enough to try something else for a change. Maybe if they had announced this as late as two weeks ago they could have gotten people to cancel their preorders and got some of that money in gems.
About kitten time they announced it, should have announced it to start the blogs.
Thank you very much ANet.
A new class would bring a new set of skills and traits to learn and master. A new race would bring new personal storylines and newbie zones. At this point in time since we have already been receiving new zones and stories through the living story…
I have to say YES to a new class. Bringing a new class adds something new to all groups in the game, pve, wvw, and spvp.
No wonder there’s no one, this game is dying… Even on Desolation, the biggest server, there are fewer people nowadays.
Why people continue to think this is beyond me….this boss has never been a draw, ever. Please see this from NCSoft’s earning report filed the beginning of this year:
Guild Wars 2 earned 33.6 Billion Won = 31.58 Million USD up from Q3s 22.94 Million USD and exceeding sales expectations for Q4
Trust me, this game is doing fine.
To the OP, I am really sorry you got that close, it is sad indeed though me thinks there was a bit of anger as well.
Not sure why you think because their earnings are up that it means the population is fine, this isn’t a subscription game, it just means more people are buying gems for money from them, plus the usual box sales which at this point which isn’t going to be much.
When you look at the actual zones on the servers you can see activity is down. Whether or not more people are hiding in other instance parts of the game(fractals, spvp) who knows, leveling areas are empty though, and numbers are down on many servers for wvw.
One features release patch on the 15th, they will be discussing parts of it in their ready up every week until then. I don’t see mentions of commander tag or account wxp, and if they are coming in that patch but holding back announcing those at this point they’re skitten.
I bet Anet starting to care when ESO goes live.
If they really cared account bound world xp would be in with this patch.
I really hope the “Big” patch will be released in the next few days instead of promises.
Even the patch notes were quite vague this time around.
Not even your double post has enough power to make that happen XD
Edit: could have swore I saw a double post lol.
Seriously though, if they had planned on releasing account wxp before the season there’s no reason to reset the points today.
The arguments on why it should be done have already been discussed to death, hence why they announced they were working on it. They chose to put eotm and the tournament as top priorities, eotm probably because of the china release, and the tournament to help keep people interested in wvw during the Elder scrolls release period.
Account wxp should have been top priority because it is something every single wvw player wants, which the same cannot be said for either of the other two. Until they make the change I do feel like I’m stuck playing my highest ranked character, and wasted time on the others.
Starting to think they really only have 1 developer for the entire wvw section.
T1 servers will hammer the T2 servers because of population differences, moreso when players get their 10 meta achieve for the season reward and then move to teso.
The only chance the bottom 3 servers have is if there’s some sort of double team with another T2 when matched with a T1 server, but that will never happen lol, too much hate for SoS from FA, TC, MAGS.
NA Gold league cuts off at the top 6…
So no SoR won’t be in gold.
Would love it if they offered something like this, bonus leveling for playing in the game mode I love. But wvw is always last in consideration for stuff like this. I think they view badges as badly as they view karma now, too easy to get, and a starter currency that they don’t want to add much to anymore. Look at how many currencies they’ve added to the game since the beginning to avoid using karma.
This has come up before, and my response then was also no, you cannot limit access to players because of their time zone, too many people play from different time zones and play at different times. You will never be able to balance the wvw population of servers unless you manage to get the servers to max status and all maps queued all the time, like T1 is pretty close to, but even then there are coverage gaps.
Anet has little control over the population, they can offer transfers but it will never be balanced. What they do have control over and can change according to the situation is the points given, they give bonus points for stomps when you have the bloodlust buffs, well expand that to the outnumbered situation as well.
They don’t tell us stuff because then you end up with a situation like…. account bound wxp, still waiting on that one for five months and getting very restless about it.
Everyone shouldn’t get their hopes up for “expansion type” content either, which frankly would be large such as a new race or profession, new zones, new weapons etc. Only looking forward to three announced things, account bound wxp, extra 2h sigil, runes reworking, maybe for a features patch before the tournament who knows.
But stop dreaming up stuff for expansion sized patch, you’ll only disappoint yourself more.
http://gw2wvw.de works and the map display isn’t as “busy” looking as gw2score.
For a game that’s suppose to be driven by armor appeal, they certainly don’t do a good enough job with it. There are of course a couple sets that look cool in the game, but the majority of them don’t, especially male light armor. I looked at every one of the male light armors they sell on the black lion trading and none are appealing at all.
Don’t even get me started on one sided shoulder pieces.
Or weapons… about the only special weapon that looks good usually is a two handed greatsword and that’s probably due to it’s size, I wish staves and two handed hammers were bigger. Real shame when I look at a game like WoW and think they have better looking stuff.
You won’t be jumping leagues during the tournament. I’m not sure if they will continue with the points variations or put it on hold during the tournament, as only wins and losses will determine matchups during the tournament.
They need to start patching an hour before reset, not after, when it’s NA primetime on reset night. I can understand emergency fixes for bugs, but they’ve done this a few times already.
P.S that 3 min warning is no where near 3 mins long before they boot us!
(edited by Xenesis.6389)
I don’t agree with their pricing either which is based off the division of the tournie, but the long term effect will be that certain servers will get screwed from this after the tournie. SoR looks like it will be caught in the wrong rank and miss a chance to recover a little.
If rank 13 and rank 20 are free, why would I choose to go to 20 over 13? better chance at tickets? meh you’re going to be able to get the weapon either way, 13 would obviously have more population to play with and better to move to in the long run. If I was down on the bottom half of the rankings I would take this opportunity to move entire guilds out to the top half for free.
If I was on say BG I would probably be looking to jump all the wvw guilds down to 13-15, to get away from their now pve heavy population, yet keep their wvw core together and easily move that server to the 4-9 range.
They probably should have done the 1-9 servers with 1800( 1+ 2 you can’t even move to anyways), 10-15 with 1200, 16-24 with 0.
More than any server below us, and apparently more than Maguuma (we haven’t fought SoS or FA recently enough to know).
At this point looks like maybe only SoS Sea/Ocx would be a good challenge to yours, sounds like you guys are in the same position we were in not long ago before the new transfers, with the amount you can queue up for NA. Would certainly be interesting to fight Dragonbrand in T2.

You get the skin for finishing scarlet in the story instance anyways.
Another waste of time pve content.
What? Tc and Sos didn’t split Sir, Tc and Jq split Sor up.
Sos wants no part of T1, we only have inflated points because of the bad matchups lately.
BG can keep their spot.
GW2 is one of the worse rewarding mmo’s out there, that’s why I won’t bother spending much time on big events like Tequalt or Marionette, just not worth the time doing repeats. Opening 88 chests from one of the big raid bosses in the game deserves more than just 1 exotic, that’s beyond pathetic. RNG is RNG blah blah blah increase the drop rates, happy customers are more willing to spend money on your product customers.
Necro(well)mancer, pretty much only play this now, miss it too much when I play other classes. Not good for roaming in this build, but fun in groups/zergs.
Plaguing! miss miss miss miss miss miss XD
Most level 80’s are still sitting in exotics for their gear, ascended gear is a real grind. Best thing about exotics is the number of ways you can get them, karma, gold, wvw badges + gold, crafting. Depending on your build but you may have to spend mostly gold to upgrade. I’m sure you will be able to pick up whatever pieces you need even with just gold, runes and sigils cost vary depending on the build you want. Can use your laurels to pick up ascended trinkets.
If you want to quickly build up badges I would suggest eotm as they drop like candy in there, and lots of places for your mesmer to throw people off. Even running around with the zerg in wvw will net you a decent amount of gold.
As for your build you will need to decide which you want to play mostly, the condition clone builds are good for roamers, might want more toughness if you’re going to run with the zerg which in itself requires certain skills up like veil timewarp, portals for golems.
Anyways good luck, it really wouldn’t take long for you to gear up a character for wvw.
I agree, probably would have been better for them to get something like say account wxp done sooner than eotm, and saved eotm a couple weeks before spring tournie. Don’t get me wrong the map was needed, even if there isn’t queues for any server, it’s another option for wvw players if their matchup is going badly. Now they just need to make the reward drops for both areas equal, 10 badges off a chest for taking a supply camp in eotm but 3 badges from grub in ebg? lol.
I would also probably preferred if they developed another borderlands map that they could rotate out every week with the current one, so that it keeps wvw a little fresher.
Same type of rewards as pve pretty much, maybe slightly less rate than normal pve. You can get champ bags from tower and keep lords, heavy loot bags from players, karma, badges, wxp, crafting mats, chance for rares and ascended from rank up chests. Use your badges to buy exotics.
EDIT: and yes of course…
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women! XD

They’re testing what little conveniences they can move and charge for at this point. Travel will probably be the next thing to mess with.
If you want to remove spell aoe, then you need to remove all aoe that includes cleave from melee, also aoe condition removals, aoe heals, and aoe fields because they are counters to aoe damage.
Then all you’re going to create is the /trainassist zerg. Great for roamer types I’m sure, but if you turn this into a single targeting game I might as well just load up call of duty.
Hire, GC confirmed and maybe Helioz is moving to TC from SoR.

You need tailoring, leatherworking, or armorsmithing at level 500 btw, and a vision crystal, in order to craft the ascended versions, it will tell you on the recipe on the vendor. Making it to exotic level doesn’t take much, unfortunately they saved the glowing versions for ascended only.
/sigh
Yeah it’s really annoying the hell out of me.
If I wanted vertical progression I would have stuck to WoW, their game was built for vertical progression and is a much more rewarding experience. I came to GW2 to play wvw and the happy thoughts that I wouldn’t have to upgrade my pvp gear every season, like you need to do in WoW every 6 months, but two months into release and that illusion wkittentered.
Now every time I step into wvw I always have to think about obtaining ascended gear, because sooner or later enough people are going to have enough pieces to make a difference in battles. Why oh why was this game not build with spvp and wvw systems separate from pve.
I guess I have one of the lucky accounts, got a ascended ring last week at level 20, yeah I’m a noob at WvW.
I’m assuming you mean wvw rank 20 and not xp level 20?
I assumed the rank up chests still only give you level appropriate rewards, been saving the rank up chests on my guardian until I get to 80.
