Axe still has kitten sustained damage. Axe #2 didn’t need a buff — it was axe #1. Axe #1 could do with a 50% increase in damage.

If they weren’t stealthing off your pet they would stealth off you. Atleast this way your not taking the inital damage.

I dont see you shutting down a thief ablity to go into stealth no matter what you class are.

You can dodge CnD, your pet can’t. I’ve done it many times, and it kills me that even though I had the skill to pay attention to the animation and dodge it, the thief can just turn around and go cnd off a pet that won’t dodge.

I’m playing ranger in tournaments and trap ranger and BM bunker ranger are just too strong atm.

All of a bunker ranger’s damage comes from the pet. Kill the pet and the ranger is mostly harmless. Kill the ranger’s second pet, and suddenly he’s petless for at least 40 seconds.

True, but goodluck killing my pet within 15 seconds while he has 500+ hp regen a sec. And I can heal him aswell. + If you can kill him you wasted valuable cooldowns you need to kill the ranger. BM bunker ranger can easily last 40 seconds with all the evades anyway.

It’s called aoe. A single well+ mesmer shatters will still hit player targets while taking out your pet as collateral. 500 hp regen won’t save it.

You seem to think our pets are like necro minions or mesmer clones (or our spirits) and just go “splat” if you sneeze on them. Most of our pets have the durability of a player. Canines for example are more durable than a glass cannon thief or elementalist.

A single well will tickle a pet. Mesmer shatters will do about as much to a pet as they do to a player. They hurt a lot but they don’t kill on their own.

Especially pets like drakes, canines, bears, devourers, and pigs you would have to make a concerted effort to kill the thing.

A mesmer shatter takes out half of a player’s healthbar. Pair that with a blurred frenzy and the other cleave from the team, and it is not that difficult to take out the pet.

People just don’t strategize shutting down rangers because to be honest they are not that common, and trap rangers are supremely better for a team scenario anyways and they don’t rely on their pets to get a job done.

This ought to cover necro minions and maybe illusions, but this is particularly egregious against rangers, because the kitten pet is 30-40% of the ranger’s damage. If you’re BM, the pet actually does more damage than you.

A pistol dagger gets permanent condition cleanse and on demand stealth opener spam by virtue of facing a ranger.

I know people will retort to call the pet to you, but ranger damage won’t scratch anything without an active pet— imagine any other class having to halve their damage just to avoid facilitating the enemy’s strategies.

Some will say to run ranged pets to make it less difficult, but ranged pets are terrible — their projectiles are slow and like the necro and guardian projectiles have trouble hitting targets compared to pistol shots. Most of all, even ranged pets will stand still in place shotting allowing for a thief to get only as close as he has to to hit it while hugging the safety of range.

This goes for all thieves, pistol thieves and sword/dagger thieves. You can use the skill to deny a cnd on yourself, but the thief can just turn around and hit the idiotic pet that will neither dodge or block.

I know the trouble with thieves is more than abusing pets, that they can abuse culling to close or create distance even after stealth breaks or to get away, that they have overpowered heals that remove conditions immediately baseline and everytime they stealth they remove conditions and continue to do so every 3 seconds. That they not only have shadowstep but another traited one and blinding powder stealth when cc’d so they can pretty much escape any spike attempt and retreat.

But this would go a long way to making encounters with thieves less annoying: Just make cnd not work on pets/minions. You are unjustly punishing a class with a mechanic they have no say over that happens to take away half of their contribution with bad ai, bad survivability, and on top of that actually helps the opponent many times instead of hurting them.

Power Necromancer or Thief

Why is this even a question?

Necro is only good/great for team fights for boon stripping, garbage for PvE.

Thief is mostly good for roaming, bad/inefficient for team fights (of more than 5 people), and decent at PvE (only warrior does more damage in PvE, but thief utility like shadow refuge is potent especially in fractals and a venom share build with basilisk is very strong as well).

The only reliable way to beat a p/d thief is basically be skirting out his range. He has a gap closer in steal for a crutch cnd, but after that he needs to maybe burn his shadow refuge or shadowstep to catch up to someone who starts to kite him. Their ranged damage is crap if they can’t land their stealth opener, so save your dodges for when they are about to open with their stealth attack.

If he can’t cnd, he’s dead. That’s the problem with the necro though, that because he has no mobility like blink or Burning Speed or RTL or many of the ranger’s evasions (Monarch’s Leap away) he can’t create effective range to break the thief down.

Also, staff does crap damage at range on a power build, please. It even does crap damage to a single target on a condition build. The mesmer greatsword, ranger shortbow, warrior rifle, engi pistols/rifle, and thief pistols or shortbow outdamage it by a long shot, and it has to do with the projectile speed of necrotic grasp and its low damage.

The only ranged weapon that may do as low sustained single target or burst as the necro is the guardian’s crappy scepter. And the necro staff has aoe so the guardian scepter is indeed worse.

I would love to know that engi’s build.

It’s understandable that as an ele that engi gave you trouble. Ele wins by attrition, not burst, and a good engi is very good at controlling and stacking boons while laying out powerful conditions. So he can control your damage delivery well, which is small to begin with compared to a mesmer/thief.

I would advice you to save your dodges for his static discharge burst, which happens whenever he uses a tool belt skill (that lightning bolt you see shot at you).

I would probably expect a good mesmer with boon removal, or any class with the ability to remove boons to go in for burst to be able to deal with engis. Boons are too string at the moment, so a thief stealing boons would be pretty good and so would a mesmer or coruupt boon necro.

Power necro is too easy to kite — you will be countered by hardhitting ranged weapon users like any competent rifle warrior/thief and even ranger or ele.

Power necro only works on people that don’t know how necros work — they don’t dodge spectral grasp or Dark Path’s obvious cast time and don’t move out of wells.

I suggested making Dark Pact like the attack orrian necromancer mobs use where they teleport in a black swarm to you. Add the root after it hits and it will be a better gap closer. Necromancer projectiles in general need to be a lot faster.

Also, power necromancers simply need a 1200/900 range option or the staff needs a better direct damage component to scale with power, because power necros don’t have ranged options (no, a 600 range axe is not it).

Either way, this will do little against thieves so long as stealth stays the way it is+culling. A cnd thief can pretty much negate damage at will since he will remove conditions in stealth so marks are useless against him and thieves only need cnd and autoattack to wear you down. Thief autoattack actually hits hard and it can take a while before they render when they hit you.

This class ... maybe time for a change?

Passive condition removal is stupid to begin with. Imagine classes passively ignoring direct damage every 10 seconds without doing anything, or when switching weapons/attunement negating a direct damage attack. There’s just too much condition removal.

Conditions are weak because they take too much ramp up outside using cooldowns for quick stacks, they scale horribly with stats compared to power/prec/critdmg, and on top of it all there is so much condition and group condition removal.

Conditions like poison are also pretty weak right now since so many classes have heals that remove conditions — that should be specific to necromancers and maybe rangers. What’s the point of putting poison on a thief when Hide in Shadows will remove it anyways. Ditto for warrior heal (the condition removal happens before the heal kicks in btw).

This class ... maybe time for a change?

Disagreeing on a lot of this.

2. Not true. A guardian knights/zerker style build with life steal food and healing traits is very VERY hard to deal with as a condition necro. Maybe it is different for power/mm, but that isn’t the case for conditions. Too many clears and too much healing, and too much DPS.

Possibly, I could see if you ran into a really good one in wvwvw. I am guessing they are more difficult in wvwvw. My experiences with them in wvwvw, have been I mow them down without any difficulty. In tourney play, guardians are easily dispatched by necros even condition ones.

3. There are ranger builds, especially those that use GS and troll urgent/avoidance that are nearly impossible to deal with 1v1. You don’t have the sustainability or burst to bring them down and they have too many evasions. I would say this is true of all necros. Just because you haven’t hit someone running this build, doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. I have tried dueling this build numerous times in spvp and wvw and my record was like 25% win rate.

The Greatsword avoidance builds are not BM builds. He stated BM Ranger which is the shadow panther sword/wh/GS berzerker build that absolutely train wrecks a lot of classes in one big burst. You are referring to their bunker build, and yes it’s tough, but they are so rare to see, and the ones I have seen while they are buggers to kill, they die alot easier than those bunker trap rangers.

BM builds ARE bunker builds. 30 WS, 10 NM, 30 BM with either greatsword or mainhand sword/torch+shortbow. There is nothing Berserker about it because the pet does not depend on gear stats so most rangers run with around 2-2.1k toughness while their pet is still critting for 6-7k and gets haste on swap.

And I don’t know what you are smoking about destroying bunker eles. You corrupt their boons, and in less than 10 seconds they put them back up. They can put up boons and heal far more frequently than you can spike or corrupt boons. Elemental Harmony gives them a boon every time they switch attunement plus 2 auras that give them fury and swiftness, a trait at 50% health that gives them prot and stability, and they run cantrips anyways to get prot and stability back up once you strip them. Corrupting their boons also doesn’t matter since a single switch to water attunement and a cleansing wave will wipe all the conditions off.

What do you guys think about the incredible negative feedback you got for Trahearne?

Narrative Designer Scott McGough and I talked about this very topic some time ago. In short, Trahearne was intended to fill a very specific role that, in terms of both gameplay and story, the PC could not fill—an order-neutral character with extensive knowledge about Orr and the magic of undeath who could coordinate a global war effort and make the necessary plans, thus leaving the actual gameplay up to the player. Further, Trahearne’s character design was intentional in that he would be a reluctant hero who, through interacting with the player, evolved into someone who could step up to lead the Pact.

This didn’t resonate well with some players for a variety of reasons. We’re comparing external feedback with our own, since we have plans for Trahearne and other existing characters in future live updates and expansion content. We won’t spoil what we’re discussing, other than to say we’re looking at many different options for his current implementation and beyond.

Do you use the feedback you got to try improving the writing for future storylines and their characters?

Of course. We want to improve our storytelling and characterization so that it complements the great gameplay that our designers work hard to create.

I don’t think the reluctant hero angle was ill-received. I think it was the delivery that fell short and made people dislike it. Trehearne’s lines fell flat, his voice work did not come off nuanced (mind, I don’t think it’s necessarily the VA’s fault — maybe the VA’s lines were edited in poorly, leading to the monotone and lack of emotional integration that I think turns off players).

Moreover, I think a variety of gameplay decisions also affected our view of him for ill. He takes Caladbolg when we do the footwork for getting it back. In one of the story branches, our brave norn partner dies while enslaved by the krait because Trehearne called us to his mission instead.

As an NPC, he suffers like the Destiny’s Edge members in that he was weak and useless. Because he was designed as a weak NPC that couldn’t even kill a mob on his own, he wasn’t conveyed as powerful enough, and players grew to resent having to respect someone that hadn’t shown why he deserved respect (hero NPC’s need to give the impression that they are powerful and wise, not puny).

Also, to be honest, a greatsword on a necromancer? Why make it a greatsword instead of a weapon for a necromancer? And, really, as a sylvari I would have loved to bear Caladbolg for myself, not let someone else keep that unique weapon skin who didn’t even use that weapon type.

Warrior hammer is just fine — it’s just not as OP as greatsword or mainhand axe so nobody uses it as much. In WvW hammer warriors are CC factories with great damage to boot, unlike the other CC heavy class like the engineer.

Given that this is an ongoing problem, the ANet staff SHOULD be on top of responding to try and keep the client calm. As if it were not bad enough they refuse to give the ability for us to have Telephone Support, they even ignore or take their time to respond to eMails and to respond here about this ridiculous problem.

So much easier to just blame us and say “It’s your firewall … It’s your router” instead of fixing an issue which is blatantly and very obviously on their side.

What else are they going to say other than “We’re aware and trying to figure it out”?

You think because you have a phone line that the minute you call they’ll have a fix? When my internet goes down, I can call Comcast all I want and the anwer remains “We have detected problems on that area and are working to fix it”.

Phone support would be great for in-game issues. Technical issues will always, like most companies, be blamed on your hard/software while they work behind the curtains on complaints. It’s normal.

So after you finish slapping me for no reason … are YOU able to log in successfully? Or are you just one of the suck-ups who feel its ok for a Company to give sub-standard treatment to the Client.

Why is it unreasonable to expect them to at least have the decency to post a SHORT response every few hours saying “We are (now) aware that the issue is ongoing, and are doing our utmost to fix it and have you back in-game as soon as possible.”

Hah, if you were to go through my posting history, you’d know I’m no suck up (some of my critical threads were even closed down by trigger happy mods).

I cannot log in still. I’m just telling you that phone lines would change nothing when it comes to service interruption, because it’s a server based issue and not something individual.

Telling you they are working on it with some posting update would also change nothing. This is a 20+ page thread — obviously they are aware and keeping track of the situation.

Just don’t expect for updates everytime YOU have a problem. The reason for updates is if they have anything new to say. Apparently they don’t. I’m not telling you to sit idle and enjoy your inability to play — I can’t play either and it pisses me off — just that neither an update or a phone line will do anything. I’d rather they just fix the kitten servers instead.

Switch to GS and let guardians do hammer, it’s what they excel at.

Guardian GS is way better than hammer in dungeons.

But they’re good together when you have to kill mobs. Pull the group together and keep them in place, so your team can maximize their AoE damage in the focal point you created. This makes my PuG runs so much smoother because there’s less targeting chaos and kiting.

I prefer my greatsword+ mace/shield/focus because I actually do substantial healing with the mace and it allows me to stay in melee for high level fractals longer, when mobs can hit you easily for 8k and Ascalonian Mages+Warriors will pretty much 2-shot you if you don’t string blocks together.

The make map completion leveling in areas that are currently ghost towns, especially completing heart rewards, far more xp efficient than they are. People do alt switching because leveling outside WvW objective farm and dungeon swapping is such a boring, slow process comparatively. People leveled in PvE through DE chains, but now that the population has matured in levels the lower level areas outside maybe the human ones rarely see enough DE’s going on to give efficient xp/hour.

Besides, people can just ask that the people in the group don’t skip cinematics at the end so they can switch at 8-10% instead without fear of missing the reward.

The necro is squishy because it has crap recovery options. Your heal is on a 25 sec cd, your access to regen is kinda small and doesn’t compare to the healing of other builds like ranger, guardian, or ele; necro damage is plain terrible if you have played any other class.

Necro is a team class for aoe chill/poison/conditions with epidemic and wells for boon removal. It is not a 1v1 class or a farming class.

I got permanent regen, every well pulse AND hit heals me, and i got healing well. every attack heals, i use Dagger so thats OFTEN..

please learn the class before complaining.

not to forget my second life bar that refills every 5-10 sec and my already huge life pool, and unless you run crappy glasscannon build you got enough toughness to stick around forever.

Don’t be an idiot. The life siphons are negligible. Please play a kitten elementalist or healing ranger before you feel like opening your mouth again.

And if someone is not kiting you when you use daggers, which is stupidly easy to do considering your only “gap closer” is a root with a cast time and obvious animation anyone can dodge, then they deserve to die.

It’s not my fault you feel big because play against ignorant people in WvW. I mean, what non-idiot chooses to stay in your wells while you spam dagger 1 on them?

If you want, we can meet up with my ranger or elementalist and I will show you who is the better survivalist. No good dd ele/BM evasion ranger will lose a 1v1, sorry. These are the kings of 1v1, perhaps followed after by a good p/d or s/d thief (s/d mostly because they abuse culling stealth to just run away whenever something goes south).

I was killing sentries for the daily event achievement.

20 seconds into the fight, the Flesh Golem was still standing there doing nothing regardless of whether I ranged or melee’d the sentry, or whether it hit me.

Gotta love crap AI being tied to so many classes.

Then you have randomness like engi elixirs and mesmer condition weapons/specs that make those aspects of the classes completely useless.

These staff escape skills have slow activation times allowing for plenty of reaction time to the opponent or are slow projectiles…..

Meanwhile…. a Warrior kneels down for 3 seconds to channel a single attack!
Meanwhile…. a Warrior does a cute spin on the spot then charges in the wrong direction because you went left then right.

Meanwhile, Warrior does a Whilrwind Attack and crits a player with 2100 toughness for 6-7k still. All is balanced.

Just as I have posted on another thread:

There will be so many implications and this may create a great impact if the fractal progress will be changed to an account-wide progress.

How would you feel if you have exerted too much effort in getting your characters to high-level FOTM and suddenly there was a change to make the progress account-wide?

How would you feel if you are stripped of more chances for fractal rewards just because you can only do a few dailies (tier-based dailies), instead of multiple dailies (separate dailies for each toon you have)?

I believe we should look into the Pros and Cons, and not just on the advantages.

How would people feel about a precursor scavenger hunt? I had to pay kittenloads for my legendary, but when it kicks in it will be good for people.

Why do you feel entitled to make others suffer because bad game design made YOU suffer? The idea is to make things better for everybody in the future.

If you need to repeat multiple fractal dailies for multiple reward chances, then the problem is with the RNG scheme, not with making account wide progress. They could even make rewards character bound, just like you can wait 2 hours and do an explorable path again on a different character and get 60 tokens again.

Depends on how much time I feel I have. If I’m in a hurry, only 80’s.

It also depends on the dungeon. I will not do TA or SE with lower levels, simply because the mobs really aren’t tuned that well for lower levels (they may be DOABLE, but it’s such a horrible hassle that it’s not worth it imo). CM either — Riflemen autoshots (not the snipes with casting time, I mean the autoattacks) already can 2-3 shot lv80’s.

AC, CoF, HotW, and CoE I will do with lower levels.

Eh…with this hug mechanics coe is now faceroll dungeon. Sniff.

Thus why I will do it with lower levels. Even with no hugs, if you learned your dodges and brought Vigor boon to CoE you were fine.

No way. Without hug, they would die instantly. Honestly, even for a full 80 lvl group, alpha without hugs is a Huge Challenge. I can kite him for a while, but, eventualy, he would still get me. I mean path 2/3 alpha. Path 1 is easy.

You can pretty much dodge every attack of his with vigor up. Every attack of his is both staggered and heavily telegraphed. The autoattack is rough but even then some people can help rez quick if someone can’t handle it.

Like the people said you can’t expect a company to cater to just you. And they announce builds 95% of the time. Have maintenance less often then any other company in mmo history. You might as well walk away from this one its a battle you won’t win lol.

As far as account sharing that wouldn’t even of matter in the case of a new build. Once the build started and you reset everything you was doing live is finished. Because from a programming aspect your on a node. And that node got removed for a new one. Which is why every game in history tells you do nothing and go somewhere safe when a incoming patch happens.

No, when you are inside a dungeon instance the game gives you 3 hours instead to finish that instance. You are not forced to update until then.

If progress is accountwide I could have just stayed on my alt and gotten rewarded for my main’s personal reward level.

Make the other bosses harder instead, please. This boss is one of the few good things about Fractals (and in-game) for challenge-seekers.

There is no challenge here.

You stay at range so his arrow misses all the time while you strafe, and when he’s about to shield you just drop a chill and send the guardian to pull mobs in and the mesmer laysdown a feedback, time warp if the aoe is slacking.

It’s not a hard boss. It’s just a PuG destroyer because it requires a specific approach — and pugs don’t do specific or have the guarantee of a guardian to pull kitten in.

Depends on how much time I feel I have. If I’m in a hurry, only 80’s.

It also depends on the dungeon. I will not do TA or SE with lower levels, simply because the mobs really aren’t tuned that well for lower levels (they may be DOABLE, but it’s such a horrible hassle that it’s not worth it imo). CM either — Riflemen autoshots (not the snipes with casting time, I mean the autoattacks) already can 2-3 shot lv80’s.

AC, CoF, HotW, and CoE I will do with lower levels.

Eh…with this hug mechanics coe is now faceroll dungeon. Sniff.

Thus why I will do it with lower levels. Even with no hugs, if you learned your dodges and brought Vigor boon to CoE you were fine.

I’m pretty sure it’s a technical limitation. Once you update to a new build you’re segregated from the old one. The new and old build run simultaneously for a while until everyone currently online updates.

At least, that’s how I understand it.

Yeah, I suspect as much, which is why I think the account wide progress is a better solution than making it so you can go back in after builds (though that doesn’t help if you d/c after the build is announced).

At least they should announce the build before implementing said build to the client to give people a chance to prepare for it.

Evidentally, you do also. That is why you are switching your character out to manipulate the system to get better rewards than you are entitled to.

Kudos to you. You have found a loophole in the system and are an exploiter. Don’t come here and complain if you miss out on your ‘well deserved’ rewards.

I’ll leave my sympathy for the people that are actually missing out on their hard earned rewards.

LOL, exploiting? It’s been in for a while, people have been doing it with no pronouncement of exploits or threats of banning, and that same reward scheme has existed in explorables since the beginning of the game.

Your thread is a complaint on the fact that a “new build” or maintenance or whatever you want to call it has screwed over your swapping to an alt. There is a huge yellow text that goes across the center of your screen whenever these things occur. Whether you are blind or ignorant to notice it is beyond help. If you really wanted to make a suggestion about having account wide progression / rewards, don’t use the premise that you got booted off for swapping alts due to a server maintenance. The suggestion isnt stupid, the reason for making the suggestion is.

Why is it so hard for people to read? IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHETHER I SWAPPED OR NOT. I hope that makes it clear — you lose the reward whether you swapped or not.

This instance is EXACTLY why account wide progress should be advocated for. It’s an example of the ways not having account wide progress in the game can screw you over. Because if account wide progress had been in, I would have gotten my reward. Full stop right there. If you’re just going to keep talking past people instead of to people, because you simply want to call someone on the forum a whiner, you can just stop replying instead. Calling me a whiner is not going to stop me from making these threads — I have thicker skin than that, thank you very much.

iMage sucks because illusions conditions are not affected by +condition duration traits or stats, so its confusion doesn’t benefit from the +%33 confusion duration trait or +cond duration stats.
illusions are affected by every other dps stat in the game (cond,power,presicion,crit dmg) so this is causing a huge balance issue as so much of our damage comes from illusions.
This is also one of the main reasons why condition mesmers are not viable in sPVP atm.

Confusion sucks in PvE anyways. And a 3 sec 3 stack confusion will never match, even in WvW, the damage of a 5-6k iBerserker or Swordsman hit.

So they either need to give the iMage a large initial hit in addition to the confusion, or actually give enough confusion and confusion duration for the damage to be comparable.

And let us use abilities during The Prestige.

Oh, and if your ALT is only Fractal level 21, then your reward would have been tiered down to level 21 regardless of whether or not you were doing a level 38 fractal. That is kind of pointless, tbh.

You do fractal on alt.

You switch to main with the proper higher personal reward during Jade Maw. You get the updated personal reward. You can check that by the amount of total fractal relics given to you by the daily chest — they vary by difficulty level.

Please stop posting until you care to inform yourself on how things actually work.

This thread discusses account wide progress because if it were in, I would receive my reward, with the added benefit of getting to use any of my lv80’s like I can in explorables. You know, in this supposedly alt friendly game.

Doesn’t mean it’s good policy, just like restricting fractal progress to characters or not letting you join fractals after a new build is bad policy in my opinion, and last I checked I have the freedom to discuss bad policy that lessens my enjoyment of dungeons.

I would love if you did a DE, got a precursor drop and a build did a rollback, that suddenly you would be fine and dandy with being denied your reward because they don’t schedule their maintainance around your convenience. Maintainance should not have as a feature screweing over people of their rewards, especially when they don’t make the effort to announce the set time for maintainance so people know in advance at what times not to run a fractal.

You can switch, just not when there’s a patch. There’s a f’n warning telling you that there is a new build. If you haven’t learned your lesson in explorer dungeons, then you just sound like the kid that wants to yell at everyone who doesnt agree with your demands.

Inside dungeon : New build is ready in 3 hours.
Outside dungeon: New build is ready in 3 minutes.

If you choose to log out your character after getting those announcements, you do so at your own risk. Quit kittenin about your own mistake instead of asking to get catered.

You do realize it doesn’t matter? A 21 alt reward is nothing I want, the same as not getting it. Not sure about what inane point you were trying to make with that since I was screwed the moment they announced the build, which they have no warning about.

I was not getting the 38 reward regardless of whether I logged out or stayed in. Try to let that sit in, because unless I’m clairvoyant I’ll have to do every 38 fractal on my alt under the fear of a maintainance build suddenly turning up and denying me my 38 reward.

Warrior, Guardian, Ele, one mesmer. A good thief is accepted as well. Don’t want rangers — they’re bad outside gimmick self rez in fractals (I own a ranger). Don’t want necros in dungeons, since they do no damage.

Since apparently discussing the irritating occasion of not being let into a fractal after you switch due to a new build merits infraction for “complaining”, I’ll reframe the discussion:

Make fractal progress account wide so people don’t spend an hour and a half doing a lv38 fractal, of which you find few groups during the day, only to not receive the end rewards because new builds are pushed in by the time you need to switch your main in for the personal reward (the “alt” in question has 30 AR due to ascended pendant vs main’s 25 AR, but is lv21).

It’s not good when people get their rewards denied to them because the game is having “log in server error” due to new build instancing.

That type of things happens. You should’ve seen the new build warning and not tried to switch and just simply accepted the reward on your current character.

They are not going to reschedule their whole maintenance/build schedule around your preferences. And you should probably stop before you get infracted again or banned if your post was infracted before.

Which is why this post is discussing the possibility of making account wide character progress.

Not an issue if you are not trying to switch characters and receive rewards on a character that did not participate in the dungeon.

Your rewards were ‘denied’ because you are trying to manipulate the system for your benefit.

…… I, the PLAYER, participated in the dungeon. I, the PLAYER, qualified for the reward on the main and got the second toon enough Agony Resistance to play; I, the kitten PLAYER, completed the fractal. Manipulate the system for my own benefit? You mean, playing on whatever toon I felt like playing instead of the mesmer I didn’t feel like playing on?

Get real. I would have finished that 38 on that mesmer. I would have finished 48 as well. I have already done it before. I don’t need you lecturing me about manipulating systems — what a horrible argument. I can switch during an explorable to an alt and get the reward on him at the end, and not once have I been laughably accused of manipulating the system for my own benefits.

It’s called playing the alts designers had told us we would be welcome to use.

If you think cripple is not useful against the ascalonian grtoups, and that immobilizing a charging warrior so he doesn’t 2 shot people in your frontline is not good, I don’t know what to tell you.

The ele weapons have problems. Water attunement non-heal abilities are weak and a problem. But control is not one of them. Air staff doesn’t suck because it has no CC — it sucks because it does no damage to make up for the fact that Fireball hits higher and is aoe while lightning bolt is limited. Damage and applicability (Dragon Tooth, Eruption, Shatterstone) are the problem with ele skills, not utility or CC.

I hate personal stories. Did I fail the game?

It just annoys me that my personal story has no impact/meaningful rewards for the experience of the game. I could play the game without doing the personal storyline and not notice the difference. It bears no impact to my character, and it has no integration into how I see the world after the events.

I supposedly healed Orr with Trehearne and killed Zhaitan, yet the entire Orr map is the same. The NPC’s behave as if I hadn’t achieved any feat. I get nothing extra from how the game world responds to me for finishing my personal storyline.

Best CC is engineer and ele. The guardian cc you talk about, nobody wants because knocking a group back or dividing mobs is undesirable when you want to bunch them up and aoe them down.

An ele can pull with earth shield, has 2 knockdowns, aoe cripple/chill, aoe blind on dagger/dagger. With Powerful Auras you also give your group aoe stun defense (very useful in ascalon and drege fractal) and chill to help light armor kite away.

yes if only ele had 4 hands..
2 for daggers and 2 for a staff

D/D has some decent CC on long CD paired with attunements CD…..(but no reflects)
Staff has 1 decent C/C (water 4) on long CD and 1 reflection skill that needs a grandmaster trait to be good?

And even so wouldn t be comparable to guardians because ele cannot pull enemies.

DD CC:

Updraft, EarthQuake, AoE Shocking Aura, AoE chill Freezing Burst, chill with Frost Aura, aoe cripple with Ring of Stone, aoe cripple with churning earth. AoE blind with Glyph of Storm in earth attunement.

Staff CC:

Gust, Static Field, Shockwave, Frozen Ground, and Unsteady Ground. Powerful Auras gives a magnetic aura to your group that also applies swiftness and fury with Zephyr’s boons. And btw, the fury from Zephyr’s Boon is pretty much the longest group fury buff available.

You talk about grandmaster traits, but then don’t consider that Guardian CC is tied to weapons or utility. So, you either remove useful guardian shouts or wall of reflection to accommodate Sanctuary, or you switch to subpar weapons like the shield or hammer for CC when you could be running greatsword and offhand focus/torch instead.

The necro is squishy because it has crap recovery options. Your heal is on a 25 sec cd, your access to regen is kinda small and doesn’t compare to the healing of other builds like ranger, guardian, or ele; necro damage is plain terrible if you have played any other class.

Necro is a team class for aoe chill/poison/conditions with epidemic and wells for boon removal. It is not a 1v1 class or a farming class.
