I have done it all, when Teq came out I went and killed him with a zerg in about 5 minutes, if you call that “endgame” I can see how you don’t understand where I’m coming from.
I think you’re talking out of your kitten on this.
When Tequatl was redone it was a pretty big deal that Blackgate killed it the day of the patch. My server took a day or two to nail it, and others longer than that.
That fight is impossible to clear in 5 minutes, and if you akitten during the fight I would almost guarantee that you died…. a lot. So, I’m not going to go with the others here and say that it’s just endgame content you don’t want to do… I’m going to call you a troll that is making up circumstances and events that never actually happened to make your side appear more legitimate.
Either that, or the fact that you’ve never gotten decent loot from Tequatl is testimate enough that you don’t even try to play the game; just auto pilot. You might have even just gotten killed by the giant tidal wave after you fail to kill the boss, got the worst loot, and thought “Hey, I beat it”.
But like others have said anyway; none of this content requires your participation. You can just quit the game and play when they add something in line with your interest rather than complaining “what about MY needs”.
Content so hard it took a whole couple hours to be beaten.
Give me a break dude
Although this might be a very out of place remark but the forums have a lot in common with American politics, everyone’s hovering around the extremes of their believes and ideologies and no one is willing to give a inch of admit they’re wrong. Which makes attempting to prove the other side wrong pointless.
Those that think GW2 is dead, with no end-game will always think that, those that think GW2 is doing fine with plenty of things to do at end game will always think that.
Arguing is futile.
There really is no endgame in GW2.
I can level to 80 then run CoF till my eyes bleed for a couple days and be in full zerker exiotic. Then there is no reason whatsoever to do any other dungeon unless I want the skins.
Then you move onto fractals, do about 300 of them and get the back piece.
Then you spend $50 dollars on the gem store to buy gold to craft up to 500 to make ascended gear, or you spend 500 hours on the jail train in FSG for that cash.
then you are done.
This is terrible progression.
If they wanted to kill champ trains they could simply just adjust the re spawn timers in FSG etc…
So this change was for something else.
Ah okay, so basically it’s:
“They added all this stuff but I don’t care about that. So, it doesn’t actually count.”
Riveting stuff.
The only thing that could be considered remotely an addition to endgame was the 5 fractal paths, which if you were already lvl 50, there was absolute positively no reason to do them, most people by then are absolutely sick of fractals.
So it’s obvious that is loads of new endgame content added in the game but you just don’t want to do it. Right
I have done it all, when Teq came out I went and killed him with a zerg in about 5 minutes, if you call that “endgame” I can see how you don’t understand where I’m coming from.
And there it is, so you just admitted that this is not the endgame content that you want. You should edit the OP to reflect this change, because what you are saying is that there is not endgame content added in 1 year 5 months 11 days. At least if you are going to add numbers to things have accurate statements to back it up.
Ya you sure got me! Teq sure is one of the hardest things to accomplish in the game, I almost squealed in joy the 1st time we downed that sucker XD ! LOL @ those noobs who think Arah is hard !
And the loot… simply EPIC, nothing will EVER give me that rush again.
I cant wait for more worldbosses, who needs stinky dungeon or proper raids?

The Jungle Wurm was added very recently, on January 21st 2014, just 2 months ago.
5 New Fractals (2 boss, 3 normal) were added on November 26th 2013, about 4 months ago.
Aetherblade Path was released on October 1st 2013, about 5 months ago.
Tequatl was released on September 17 2013, about 6 months ago.So one permanent endgame content addition nearly every month.
The jungle wurm (new and hard) and Teq (not new and not as hard) aren’t end game content. One of the paths replaced an existing path, so that’s a wash.
Otherwise you’re mostly right. The have added some new content. I’d agree with the OP’s overview that not much is different though.
Tequatl has completely redesigned mechanics, it requires way more people to defeat and more coordination. The old version was a joke. So in that sense it’s new, you may don’t like it but it’s new, and it IS end game content since it gives the highest quality gear, not to mention it is the hardest content in the game.
The new path replaced another path, so that doesn’t make it new? Seriously?
It’s 4 new endgame content in 6 months no matter how the OP, or you, twist it around.
So they changed Teq from a joke to a laugh? I STILL afk him and collect loot. Hes not hard, he requires no coordination, hes a loot pinata just the same as before, this time with a little more bite than bark.
And I’ve done teq maybe about 30 times since he was changed, never once received an upgrade or even a better skin than i had from doing 2 year old dungeons.
Ah okay, so basically it’s:

World bosses are still loot pinatas, where I stand still, turn on my auto attack, check facebook, then collect my Anet™ approved 2 boxes and open the chest to find 3 blues and 4-6 silver. They could of added 1000 new world bosses and it wouldn’t matter, it’s a complete faceroll and waste of time for most people.
The new wings of those dungeon were nice, but could hardly stand on their own.
Yeah SweetFX looks rubbish,i dont like it.Cmon Anet gogo for DX11! i will go every day to the church to pray.
DX 11 isn’t going to change how the game looks drastically, unless they actually do add in tessellation etc… The only thing we might see a performance boost.
SweetFX looks fine, you just need to play around with the settings to get something you like. The shaders it comes with add very personalized touches that cant really appease everyone.
Since the last major permanent endgame content release…
While this next update is definitely one of the better ones to fix the core game, but it adds nothing original, and for players who strive for endgame PvE/PvP content this game is getting really stale. I’ve been back after an almost half a year break finding myself doing exactly the same thing I did before.
I like the ever changing / updating living story, or the idea anyways (not a fan of the writing). I don’t see why Anet cant find the time to at the very least introduce new challenging dungeons or raids once or twice a year with updated rewards (ascended gear / new skins)
It would also be nice to see existing dungeon be re tooled / bug fixed. Exploits are rampant and the same ones have existed for longer than a year. Trash exists only as something to be skipped, and for new players this can be a huge hurdle to overcome especially in the longer skips in arah.
adding a couple new wings to an existing dungeon (fractals) and adding a 1 in 1000 chance to receive the new tier of gear doesn’t constitute a major update.

A phantasm speced mesmer is the premier 1v1 class. If you have trouble beating anyone 1v1 its a l2p issue and not a class issue.
This was such a constructive, helpful post that helped further the discussion. Thank you for that. Let us know if you have any other pointers to share.
Don’t respond to trolls, there’s a pointer for you Timmy.
-and the OP didn’t give us any information at all, as far as we know he is using lvl 40 weapons and PvT gear with no traits, and only using 1 skill all while being an amputee. Unconstructive OP’s don’t deserve constructive replies.

Wont work, will still be a DPS only meta.
Encounters need to be created that require group cohesion besides dealing damage and on a personal level not taking any / dying. But becuase there is no trinity, making an encounter like that is impossible.
The only 2 exciting ecnounters in the entire game is lupicus and the flame shaman fractal. The main theme being both these fights can be quite long, and a series of 1 or 2 mistakes can lead a quick death, and the fight becomes harder the less people there are (harder hitting attacks hitting the same person with higher frequency). And honestly thats as hard as I think PvE combat can be in this game, but Id love to see more bossses on par with those 2.
In fact I’ll say the flame shaman is hands down the best fight in the game. It forces everyone person to think, and tool accordingly to the fight, to use abilities not whenever they are on cooldown… but coordinate them with the party.
tl:dr the game needs more flame shaman type fights, and the zerk/dps meta will never be broken as long as the trinity doesn’t exist.
are u kiding me how they gona sell stupid backpakcs in the store if they give u this xD

No it IS pay to not grind. I was fine with the cash shop at the beggining, becuase gold gave you no stat advantage, running dungeons gave you exiotic gear in a very respecatable amount of time to discard worries that being able buy gold with real money to buy full exiotic gear was a problem.
However with ascended gear the grind for a person starting with no gold is…. absolutely immense, its a freaking mountain to climb compared to the hill that exiotic gear was.
Thats when the real money to gems conversion became Pay to Not Grind.
I will never EVER obtain a full set of ascended gear simply by doing things I like (End game dungeons / SPvP ) , my chances of winning the powerball are higher.
There are two ways to get ascended gear.
1. Pay real money
2. Spend HUNDREDS of hours in a champ train praying to god almighty i get decent drops, and maybe lightning could strike twice and a precursor could drop.so… pay real money… or spend hundreds of hours doing something I’d rather not do. That’s not playing the game that’s grinding and you know it.
That’s how MMOs are though. The only option is to make the gear obtainable using different methods though all will end up being time-consuming, being considered grind.
Yes but they dont allow people to simply buy that gratification. I wouldn’t mind riding the champ train if I knew everyone else had to.
As sad as this sounds, 1 hour of minimum wage = 50-75 gold
And when that 50-75g can buy me a stat advantage over people who are having to spend 100+ hours in game, that’s a problem.
Gear should be obtained by overcoming challenging content in game, not by grinding or paying money…
Chellenging content gets casual after trying it few times, ending up in grinding again. There is nothing called challenging or fun content, it all turns to grind after trying it for once or twice, it is just an ilssuion, nothing more, nothing less.
Thats why MOST devs add new endgame content once every 4 months at the very least… Unlike ANET who apparently thinks its OK to keep fractals up for 1 year 7 months? as the endgame dungeon.
So ya if you have almost 2 years to practice something it becomes pretty dang easy, but in most games you given a few months at most.
but I mean we would miss out on gems like the scarlet arc if anet wanted to do somthing like add more dungeon / raid content.

I don’t know how many times I’ve said this but…
ArenaNet traded the trinity for the… Singularity.
The singularity means that any spec, any class, in any group makeup can clear any content.
So what does this mean for the meta?
Well lets take CoF p1. Certainly 5 toughness speced staff mesmers could clear the dungeon without a problem, but it would take them around 40 minutes to do so.
Now lets do CoF with 5 zerker GS warriors…. just like the mesmers they cleared the dungeon, but wait! They did it in FIVE minutes.
Why on earth would you want anything else besides the highest DPS spec/class for any PvE content?
For competive players the meta is and always will be “How can we get X instnace done the fastest?”, and as long as GW2 keeps their class system and encounters like they are now… that will NEVER change.
You need healer/support classes, you need tank/damage mitigation classes/specs and fights tailored around having a group with those things in them, but that will never happen in GW2.
Zerks, and maybe condition specs if the cap is removed from PvE will dominate always.

IDK people on both sides are going to fight just like in this thread, best solution and oldest one is just to have PvP realms.
Players who want openworld / duel PvP can have their own server, and players who just want to PvE and see PvP as a minigame to be joined from SPvP or WvWvW have their own.
How about no?
Dueling will never be a problem. It is that the anti-dueling is driven by ignorance.
Possibly, a compromise is always better than nothing.
I also think a lot of people in this thread think dueling means Open world cutthroat PvP, which is were the ignorance part is coming from.
Or you people are the vocal minority and the rest of the players really wants dueling.
The number of people crying to not add dueling vs. people wanting to duel does not matter.
Correct. What matters is people who want to duel can go to PVP and duel. There’s no need to add another feature when the neccessary framework is already there.
Duel servers exist for me to grief there!
You admit griefing in closed PvP arenas but somehow you would not grief in open world PvE areas. Makes sense.
Who said I would not try to grief there? ANet should design it so I can’t.
Now I feel really good about some of the examples I pointed out against PvE dueling in this thread, you embody it.
I embody the state of duel servers. Duel servers allow me to grief there by design, so I grief there. Dueling, if done correctly, wouldn’t allow me to grief there by design.
It will be a lesson for ANet to do it correctly so I can’t grief there.
Why are you guys even talking about griefing and dueling in the same sentence?
griefing refers to open world PvP where you are both flagged for PvP by design, where one person kills you repeated over and over.
You guys really have no idea what you are talking about lol.
IDK people on both sides are going to fight just like in this thread, best solution and oldest one is just to have PvP realms.

Because it’s a useless feature? Why do we even have to repeat this over and over and over?
The game is not balanced for 1vs1, save us the amount of endless QQ on the forums about it. There is already enough by WvW roamers, we don’t need more.
The game is about cooperation, how is this dueling thing going to interract with boons and mobs? What about Dynamic event scaling? The potential to ruin the cooperating experience is there, so is the potential to grief others and abuse the system.
We don’t need more of this, there are already stupid DPS check encounters in the game and Zerk-jerks in Dungeons, no more.
I think plenty of things in this game are useless features but im not gonna protest them just to spite those who might like them.
No game is balanced 1v1, but different specs and tactics and most importantly skill can make huge differences in 1v1 fights, but i wouldn’t expect someone like you to even begin to understand any of that as its obvious you are a PvE player. And there will be endless QQ on the forums about class balance with or without dueling.
As for Zerker gear in PvE, thats a meta enforced by the games ’abolishing" of the trinity. All PvE encounters are balanced so that they can be completed by any group makeup / gear setup. Meaning that if you are skilled enough to clear said content in Zerker gear, then there is no reason not to, as the only thing you lose is time. Non zerk gear serves only as a crutch for unskilled players to fall onto when they make mistakes, and its natural for them to progress into zerker gear as their skill improves.
Oh yes I’m a PVE player. I’m a PVEr because prefer to PVP where it is best to do so, winning in PVP tournaments, in an actual setting that requires at least a little bit of skill. You just want to use your 1vs1 optimised cheesy build and run around looking for duels. It’s not like that takes any kind of skill.
And still you didn’t counter any argument of those I posted, at all. Saying no game is balanced around 1vs1 doesn’t mean anything. There isn’t any QQ about 1vs1 class balancing, thank god, but if they ever implement something like dueling there will be. We can be spared that.
I was talking about the zerker mentality and the gear checks, 5k+ AP check etc that are all over the place in dungeon runs. Calling names and accusing others of team failures is another thing. We don’t need more of that in the game, have enough already.
Sounds like you need to git gud dude, how can you in one sentence claim your are a pr0 SPvP player who laughs at 1v1’s, then cry about PvE elitism in the next.
No one wants to carry pugs in non zerker gear in dungeons, they do 1/3rd the dps as a zerker and just slow the group down. Notice I said PUGS before you say anything. It’s a totally different situation with friends/guildies.
Because it’s a useless feature? Why do we even have to repeat this over and over and over?

This is the biggest carebear thread I think I have ever seen in my life.
" We don’t need dueling because people might get their feelings hurt! >:( "
Dueling would be an extremely convenient feature, doing so in empty custom battle grounds seem really jerry rigged, and time consuming. Even the most PvE centric MMO of all time had dueling for Christ sakes so don’t use that argument, and it really pains me to see GW labeled as a PvE game (I know its true in 2014 but it does hurt).
None of these things are that great.
Maybe if they said something along the lines of “Ascended gear can now be earned in from Dungeon/WvWvW in the same way exotic gear is obtained” or “We going to revamp SPvP” then I would be worried.
This has been done WAY before maplestory, but yes the commander system is beyond terrible. It feels like an afterthought tacked on to a very bland RvR system.
Guild Wars a PvP game? Give me a break OP!
I do not understand why people think traits on the gem store are totally impossible.
Because they said they will be available from an NPC, dude. But I agree with what someone said. It’s funny how people believe this look4pay bullkitten. GW2 is obviously p2w from the moment they allow you to directly buy gold.
Except that anything you can buy with cash, you can buy with Gold that you earn by simply….playing the game.
For something to be Pay2win, it needs to be where the gem store does a couple of things, which Anet’s shop doesn’t do.
They need to sell items that give players a huge advantage In the game over players that do NOT spend real cash.
They need to sell these items ONLY in the gem store, where ONLY real world cash can be spent.
There needs to be NO way that these items can be earned purely through in game play.
Let’s look at these each.
Are there any items in the gem store thjat give a HUGE advantage to players that spend cash, that are also NOT available through purely in game play?
Well… except for Gold. Maybe you can make an argument for xp boosters etc… except those are also available purely through Playing the game, they drop off chests, they are rewards from daily, monthly… bags that drop off Mobs etc…. strike 1.
Are there Items that can ONLY be Purchased through the gem store, that can ONLY be purchased with real world cash?
No. Because you can trade in game Gold, earned purely through playing the game, for gems, that can then be used to buy anything in the store. Strike 2.
Are there any items that can ONLY be bought for cash where there is no way to also earn them through In game Play?
As far as i know, as Long as Gold can be traded for gems..NOTHING On the gem store… qualifies. Since Gold can be earned Purely through In game Play. Strike 3.
I see a lot of people try to make the argument that " Guild Wars 2 is pay2play"
It amazes me since making gems purchaseable with ih game gold, totally goes against the spirit of some games that ONLY sell some items through the cash shop.
I do remember many posts by the OP, that seem to be negative, or present Gw2 in a negative light to those NOT familiar with the actual game. I just wonder why I never remember any positive posts from the OP?
- “They need to sell items that give players a huge advantage In the game over players that do NOT spend real cash.”
Real money to in game gold is unacceptable, if you think otherwise then I weep for the future of MMO’s. Recent updates namely ascended crafting have multiplied this at least 10 fold.
The rest of your argument is based on the fact that you can get most of the things that matter from the gem store by playing the game… and transferring gold to gems. But just how MUCH do you have to play?
Which pretty much translates to… GW2 isnt P2W, but its for kitten sure PAY TO NOT GRIND. Which is just as bad.
5) New Fractals = Fun! Love fractals!
It only took years for new ones!
They still have an arbitrary cap!
This has been the endgame dungeon for ONE AND A HALF YEARS?
I’m not even gonna get into the others
Ascended gear isn’t important. It provides a small stat boost and takes far too long to acquire. As long as they don’t start balancing future content around ascended gear, I really don’t care about it.
For those of us who actually participated in original game… PvP and a level playing field was what made GW stand out in the MMO crowd at the time, which was mostly PvE grinding, and potentially massive power level difference in gear.
GW2 has gone against almost everything it predacesor established, but at the very least it had kept it’s promise of NO GRIND, I loved the fact that after a week or two of somewhat dedicated play I could have a character with BiS items, and then all i had to worry about was… playing the game.
But with ascended weapons… idk if there is armor now? There is a marginal gap between exiotic and Ascended.
Going from rare to exotic could take you a week or two at the most. But going from exiotic to ascended not only requires a massively larger amount of time, but also RNG or REAL MONEY. You cannot feasibly get the gold required through normal play to get crafting skills to 500, you either need to be terribly lucky with precursor drops for a quick cash out, or spend real money on the NCSoft™ Fun money store.
noticed that i had to rip boons off of a guardian in order to soften it up with S/D on my thief…was with another guardian, we were against a mesmer and a guard. both repplaied boons without a problem, really glassy however i dont see where S/D Larcenous needs a change at all if its a negative change…if anything it needs a buff , a slgiht buff to actually assist in softening up targets more, theyll just easily reapply buffs without a problem..
WHERE…is Larcenous “OP”…seems to be Underpowered if anything.Pretty much this exactly, in its current state you can burn all your resources cleaning someone of boons, and 3 seconds later the guard/ele/eng/mesmer will have full stacks of everything again while your at maybe 20% initiative. Thats why it was not a worthwhile counter before the buff, and it will again be worthless if its changed as suggested
That is just not true.
In its current state its a pretty decent bunker buster, and I really like running it. But if they take it down from 2 to 1, ya it will be literally worthless since you will run out of ini before you can strip stuff like prot etc…
If the changes take place thieves will be pigeon holed into only using D/P since its has amazing DPS and defensive applications. The only thing s/d had going for it was destroying bunker specs.
(edited by Zepidel.5349)
a combat log that actually logs kitten will be nice
But then you would see underground dps meters that would show how unbalanced the game really is, espeically in PvE.
I guarantee you if a DPS meter did come out thanks to working combat logs no one would ever want a mesmer (TW got nerfed into the ground unless you are doing CoF p1 its better to just have another warrior)/ranger/ele – guard (except in fracts) or any non Zerker dps for that matter.
The crying would be off the charts since casuals would only be able to find groups for dungeons amongst themselves, and those runs would be awful.
Thief
Venomous Aura was complete garbage, as the radius was fairly tight, and venoms are not worth using at all. We’ve now increased that radius a bit, so that it’s easier to share worthless venoms with allies without huddling closely together! We’re also looking at Destroying Flanking Strike, so that it now only removes 1 boon instead of 2, now thieves wont even have to worry about Sword/Dagger spec.
Also, pistol main hand may see one of its skills reworked into a worthless support ability (since support thieves are epic). We have middle school graduate brazilians paid in bananas working 25 hours a day to achieve maximum support while keeping pistol main hand totally useless for anything else.
FTFY
So you guys are going to barely buff 2 terrible wep kits/specs, so that instead of being garbage that no one uses, it will be garbage that maybe 1 guy in 1000 gets tricked into using.
Then you are going to nerf the only reason ever to go s/d (stopping bunkers from stacking 10000 buffs / stripping stuff like prot off in PvE on bosses)?
What you need to fix is the kittenty meta were it doesn’t matter what spec or gear you are in the content is so easy it doesn’t matter, which actually just favors full zerk gear since instead of a 1 hour dungeon run its a 20-30 minute run.
Sure you can put on your tank/support gear and pretend you are doing something special, but when its all said and done the only thing is accomplished is wasting peoples time.

I thought the mats weren’t tradeable as well?
That mats to begin with aren’t tradeable, but after you refine them then you can sell them
Doesn’t break the 200g barrier per crafting prof.
atm you could buy all the tradeable mats for a wep for around 50g + whatever a vision crystal and inscription would sell for (25/50g) so your looking at 75-100g a weapon, realize this is the FIRST week/month of ascended weapons. Prices would drop like a rock after 3-6 months. When people with only 1-2 characters to gear out finished, then all the mats they gain are would of been for profit.
Only thing I can come up with is Cash Shop revenue. It literally costs 2x more to make all your weapons than it would to buy them (and thats during the 1st month). You could except to pay 10-25g a wep 6 months from now. Crafting boosters / ppl getting fed up with not having 200-400g to level 2 crafts (gem conversion into gold).
So why exactly is it exceptable to have legendaries tradeable, but not ascended?
And would it of been so hard to sit down and actually put some effort into your game? You could of made crafting profitible, and made it so it wasnt cheaper to just buy your weapons. As it stands now crafting in GW2 is two things… A way to level an alt extremely fast, or obtaining endgame gear for ~350-400g for everything.
The game PvE side anyways was a carrot on a stick already enough… but now you are tailoring content around maximum cash shop income…. Its disgusting ANET, and the sad part is you probably made bank on ascended weapons, which means armor is going to be just as bad.
“Whats the points of making new dungeons and content for new sets of gear when we can just rehash content and make a killing off these dumb goys!”
Seriously I’m never playing an MMO that has a cash shop with Real money > In game money conversion / items ever again.
You got any proof buddy?
I did a little digging, this is the best I could find.

The problem with that post is it was posted before the food nerd which added an ICD. Can’t Anet just stop being lazy and actually take the 2 minutes to put information in the game that needs to be?
You got any proof buddy?
*See guard with condition damage great sword in fractal 48
*Insta kick from party
Thanks for making it easy Anet!
Do they stack? For instance Blood/Air/Fire Sigils w/ Something like dragon candy roll (heal on crit)
Stack as in… they wont interrupt each other internal cooldowns.
It’ll cost a quarter of what it does now in a couple weeks. Getting your ascended crafting to 500 is the latest and greatest thing and tons of money is being thrown at being there first; crafted exotic sell prices fell below 1g each shortly after the patch hit, as material prices exploded to keep up with demand to hit 500 at any cost from the player base.
Exotic prices will recover. A month from now, maybe two, and you’ll be able to craft up to 500 at a profit.
there is no way you will make a profit crafting to 500, after a month it will still costs around 100g and stay there for a long time, the only things that have risen considerably are wood and ore.
Unless you plan on buying almost all of your Deldrimore Steel and Spiritwood Planks, using that guide to get level 500 is absolutely pointless. It’s a complete waste of money and materials for something you most likely can’t even use yet. Follow it to 450, then toss it aside unless you want to buy a lot of Deldri Steel and Spiritwood, plus grind t7 Obisidian Refinement mats 24/7.
Rely on Obsidian Refinements (Bloodstone, Dragonite, Empyrean) after level 450. You’re going to need 5 each of the refined versions (500 of the dropped material) before you can make a weapon. You’re also going to need quite a few Deldrimor Steel and Spiritwood, which are once daily crafts and also give you crafting XP toward 500.
Good idea except refines gives almost no xp past 475, id literally need to farm champs for hundreds of hours and get over 3m karma for obsidian shards to do enough refines for 500.
@ everyone saying just farm the mats yourself, how about HOW LONG does it takes I’m pretty sure its over 100 hours of gathering mats… again a massive grind.
I’m backing up my 200g claim with a real source were is yours?
200g? The amount I spent was no where near that number. I just refined ori and ancient wood I gathered, made some sharpening stones and crafted a few exotics. I think I spent less than 25. Also the 200g on the website is due to the inflated prices that will eventually drop. oh from 450 I just refined ascended mats I got from champ loot bags.
Yes 200g. You speculated in wood/ore, as did I thankfully. Regardless its 200g.
“Play how you want”
“Equal playing field for all”
“No grind”
Ya right… There is only 1 reliable way to obtain ascended weapons… Crafting? Why… name a single game were end game gear is obtainable only through crafting. Not only that but you decided to go ahead and add 100 crafting levels, BUT were too lazy to add 425/475 recipes resulting in forcing people to use 400/450 recipes to level, making it cost so much that the majority of players will never earn that much. How much? The cheapest is just around 200g for ONE profession. Source: http://gw2crafts.net/weaponcraft_400.html
Not a single thing this patch addressed the major problem with crafting… the fact that you cannot in any way shape or form make money from any crafting prof, before it was just a means for rich players to level an alt to 80 in a day, now its just a means to grind for ascended gear.
Why were fractals completed ignored? Now we have 55 AR max but you were too lazy to remove the 50 cap (which was stupid in the first place, i cant even think of a logical answer for putting the 50 cap on fractals). Asceneded weapons could of cost 15-25 relics, giving people who like somewhat challenging PvE content a way to acquire asc weapons.
WvWvW? How about making ascended weapons purchasable via badges?
I mean this game pretty much became P2W/G2W after this patch, you can whine and say its only a 5%/10% increase, but its still goes completely against the GW philosophy to give rich/lucky/gem buyers a sizable advantage over the general population.
And this is coming from someone with 500 wpn smith / 472 soon to be 500 huntsman.
And before you say “B-But it can drop” realize the chance is somewhere around getting struck by lighting, but not only that you want to get struck by the lighting you want (stats). It’s nothing you would rely on.
Good job not making any 425 recipies ANET.
It will only cost us a cool ~250-500g to get those 25 levels thanks to 400 bieng the highest craft till 450. Inscriptions are at 5g bieng the cheapest, giving about 20% of a level.
I don’t play WvWvW because I played DAoC and I cant take another watered down version of RvR esp after Warhammer Online.
But the greatest thing IMO about GW1 was that it completely separated PvP and PvE. So why in the hell is WvWvW a part of PvE?
All you people complaining about Ascended weapons in WvWvW should really be asking Anet to bunch WvWvW in with SPvP, as in instant 80 buff, same gear, glory, rank, etc… Now you wont have to worry about sub 80’s bringing you down, or people running around in magic find blues etc… OR some nerd in full ascended with a sizable advantage against you, that’s not skill based.
PvE NEEDS gear progression, and hard content to challenge you in that gear, the reason I even cared enough to post this is because I’m sure its going to effect me PvE wise if you guys whine enough.
