You lose a good deal of dps going 0-30-0-25-15 instead of 10-15-0-25-20. % increase dmg only applies to illusions if the source specifically states its does, the grandmaster trait you are grabbing isn’t worth it all. You are losing 15% phantasm damage and 20% recharge for a negligible dps increase for your attacks not tied to phantasms. We already lag way behind other classes dps wise, and we lost a tons of group support with the TW nerf, no need to kitten our damage even further.
Let me tell you what all these threads always come to
Basically 1 camp want to have a DPS for legitimate theory crafting purposes, and I don’t think anyone disagrees with them, or whether or not they should be able to do so.
But 2 camps are pretty much at war with each other, the ones who follow and expect pugs to be in the most efficient (best) gear for PvE (Zerker), and those who want to play in whatever gear they want.
But the argument always boils down to: Do I have the right as the creator of the party to enforce a dps/gear check on randoms/pugs that join.
As in, if a make a party “LFM zerker gear 6k DPS only” and someone joins and does 4k dps you kick them for underperforming.
and why are people mad that these topics come up? The whole point of the forums is to have discussion on things, especially controversial things. If you just instantly delete threads like these and suppress any kind of outside thinking then you have an echochamber not a forum.
The other threads were deleted because they spoke about using an illegal third-party program to monitor the DPS and devoled into TOS arguments.
This thread will likely be fine if people stay on-topic and avoid insults.
On-topic: I am fully in support of combat logs, but not meters. A log showing attacks from your entire group (without damage) is just fine to me. This would help others to see how much they get carried in a fight, and I think this would be very beneficial to the game because the “elites” would see how much they get carried.
Yes, it may turn back into “You didn’t heal me!!!” like in other games instead of “You’re not doing enough damage so I died!!”, but its better than nothing.
I really wish Anet would release an official statement on DPS meters. A lot of the discussions about them on other sites had valid arguments of why they “weren’t” necessarily breaking the ToS, and that it was completely up to interpretation (on anets part).
I know one of the devs said they wanted to work with app/mod developers in the future, but what have they done? I sure some anet is just afraid of giving an OK on a mod that could potentially become a hack tool if the author wanted it to (not officially overseen). But on the other hand they don’t want to work with someone on their dps meter because it could come off as they condone the elitist attitude that will come with it.
It would be nice if anet did start working on proper mod support, like almost every other MMO. Could add a lot of good things to the game besides a dps meter.
If you don’t want to be a leech, wear full zerk and run 10-15-0-25-20.
Use Timewarp, and use it only when your team has stacked might up to 25, this means you may (a lot) have to use inspiration signet to stack them up that high.
Use condition removal mantra, and null field on bosses/trash were its needed
Use reflects (traited focus 4/5 and feedback) were needed.
Use inspiration signet unless you absolutely need that 3rd defensive utility slot, and use it smart. At the beggening on fights if you have an ele most of the time you will have 25 might stacked, after that runs out most groups will hover around 8-15, using sig when you have 13 stacks will bring everyone around you back up to 25 for that duration.
start leanring how to use focus 4 and gs 5 to “wall” trash and bosses for FGS rush and cleave for fast kill times.
Thats the jist of it.
you rely on phantasms, sword and gs attacks, always melee if you can. As you get better you should find yourself in melee most of the time (its more dps and puts you closer to buffs like combo fields etc…)
It may be harder for a new player to run full zerk, but you will be better for it in the end. I highly recommend using heal on crit or heal over time food to help with survivability.

If posts in the forums, and actual participation in hard content (Tequatl for example) are any indication of what the GW2 population wants, then your suggestions would be bad for this game.
I also can’t imagine anyone fighting Ginva and thinking to themselves ‘This fight is cool, but it should be harder!’. That guy already takes way too long as is.
Teq isnt an example of hard content. Its an example of taking something that should be an instanced 20-40 man raid and turning it into a giant mess that requires 120 people and an empty server to guest to to purge out pugs. Guilds like TS have it on farmode 3 times a day like clockwork, and there is no requirement to join, its not an elitist HC guild by any measure.
Givna takes a while if your group isnt full zerker thats for sure, but its around 2 minutes in a proper group, probably under 30 seconds in a HC meta group. And he does need to be harder, whens the last time you have EVER wiped on him? He only has 1 dangerous attack that’s extremely easy to avoid, and guess what? EVERYONE ignores the fight mechanic, they just dps him with all 4 totems up (I don’t imagine the guy who designed that particular fight meant for it to be that way).
Recently in the dungeon subforum someone complained about the difficuluty of TA Aetherpath. The puzzles are distinct and the mechanics are strictly enforced. All the mobs must be fought and it’s pretty hard to just shrug off the mechanics of every enemy since they all hit fairly hard. The path itself is decently challenging.
Also, no one runs it.
The thing is, people hardly run dungeons at all. And the dungeons that do have uniquely hard mechanics or are challenging in any discernable way are just never run by the general community.
ANet has no incentive to create interestig enemies at a small-scale level because players have proven by their own play habits that by and large they prefer easy, grindy, mindless content, whether that is open world champ training or getting to fight in a huge zerg in WvW and run over people and call yourself a great PvPer. The entire system of GW2, for all of its great possibilities of small, precisely timed and skillfully played combat, truly encourages people to play at the lowest common denominator, and their attempts to make small content that is difficult has been spurned by the community in favor of more zerg farming and easy path farming if they actually DO dungeons. Sorrow’s Embrace might as well only have Path 1 and Path 3.
Anet can make unique and hard content like you said but why would they do that when most people would rather just do the easy and straightforward? Remember when AC2 used to be the most run path in the game. Now people hardly ever play it because the final boss actually requires a bit of effort, and people don’t want to put that in. ANet wants to make content people will play, not content that they won’t. There’s a reason they’ve abandoned dungeons.
It’s Anet’s fault.
TA aetherblade isn’t hard, you just need voice communication, or a group full or vets who know what to do. And the final boss is one of the easiest bosses in the game, its way too easy to res dead people in the fight due to the size of the room and how slow the boss moves.
The problem is why run that path when it takes 3x longer, and requires a good group when the rewards are exactly the same as F/U?
What we need is extremely hard dungeons/raid content that rewards ascended gear with it’s tokens.
Ranger must use spotter and frost spirit (those that don’t are a waste of space honestly, and there are A LOT of you out there)
Spirits are useless they die very easily and u have to trait for them to be movable. Not everyone specs into marksmanship. That kind of build is only good for COF P1 and frost spirit would be bad even at SE P1.
This is why no one wants rangers in their group, they camp bearbow and dont have anything at all to contribute to the party. Spotter is 6-8% crit chance… thats HUGE in a zerk group dps wise, and badly placed spirits will die… you need to learn how to use them, they have 1k radius not like you need to be placing them at the bosses feet.
I mean at that point you a just a warrior camping longbow and not using banners.
GW2 PvE is a (failed?) experiment in no trinity gameplay.
All classes can survive any encounter without need of outside support, with base vitality, and base toughness…using only dodge and skills that actively mitigate damage. Meaning that all stats should be pumped into dps output.
Classes have roles, mesmers and guardians are “support” with reflections, condition removals, and skills only available to their class like time warp or virtues. Every class with the exception of necromancer and engineer also have support roles that need to be fulfilled. But just because they are “support” doesn’t mean they need stats in anything besides dps, all the things they use to support work just as good in zerker as they do in clerics, the difference is 2-4x more dps output (faster fights, less time to mess up, allows to ignore some mechanics compeltely… and lets face it faster is always better.)
Ranger must use spotter and frost spirit (those that don’t are a waste of space honestly, and there are A LOT of you out there)
warrior must use banners
ele must stack might via fire fields
etc…
To “fix” this the core game has to be completely redone from traits to stats to the encounters themselves. The crit dmg changes are not solving anything and is an extremely lazy response to terrible players crying about the “zerker” meta.
GW2 is not a failed experiment and the Trinity actually simplifies mechanics, not makes them more complex. This is due to the design of the Trinity – it is a ‘pew, pew’ mechanics and if you can’t taunt (the tank) the team wipes. THe Trinity also forces less build choices (Rift was a great example – they are many unique builds in the game but only one for each profession was usually used for RAIDS) and that was NOT by design but rather forced by the players.
They are redoing the traits, hence the patch tomorrow. They are redoing Crit damage because it scales improperly and you should not be able to have over 100% (IMO). That is why ‘zerker’ is the build of choice for the uniformed player. And many ‘zerker’ builds are glass cannons and that is why in WvW and sPvP they are not prevalent.
‘Zerker’ meta was picked by lazy players not the design team (although they said it does max damage at a cost to other things).
As far as conditions, it is OP in WvW/PvP but can be mitigated, if the build is more balanced. In PVE, if the conditions get more impact, they will also impact more on the players – it is a two-way street. If that happens, zerker will die because they really can’t handle all the conditions.
I guess every single hardcore PvE guild is misinformed. I guess relying solely on active mitigation and dodge is more lazy than relying on an extra 3-6k ehp buffer when veterans can hit for up to 9k. I Guess condition removals don’t exist.
Less builds? Are you serious? There is no diversity at all build wise in PvE meta at the highest level of play. Hell some HC guilds wont even let you use ranged weapons at all.
You can CHOOSE to play a heal stout warrior, but did anyone ever need the heals to begin with? Would it of just been better to be full dps and clear it that much faster. There are build choices, the problem is there is a clear cut best spec that if you aren’t running you are just a burden to be carried.

edit: there’s a reason why there is a question mark behind failed people. The reason I believe it to be failed is there is an optimal spec that never changes no matter the instance, or group comp. The only changes come from changing 2 or so utilities based on the fight if needed (do i need more condition removals? reflections? etc..). There is no healing mesmer, phantasmal tank, medic engineer, protection guardian, control ele, hexmaster necro, etc… there is just dps X , and certain things expected from them. Because using any of those other specs is just slowing your group down immensely.
(edited by Zepidel.5349)
IMO critical damage how it is is Very overpowered. My guardian runs:
3400 attack, 98% critical damage, 92% crit chance (with fury active), 1629 Toughness, and 18K hp (in WvW). Running alongside meditations I think this is incredibly overpowered and beats most other power/crit based classes.
I will be looking forward to this nerf as it will increase the length of my fights and increase the level of skill required to execute the same burst (e.g. using 1 extra skill in the chain). It will also force me to replace some of the armour I wear now with more zerker type items or change the way I run my traits.
This will make me squishier in the long run and also maybe intice me to try out a different type of build….maybe an immobilize guard…who knows!
iir that build wont be nerfed at all, you aren’t even over the multiplier cap that will be in effect come the 15th.
For some odd reason anet has decided to change critical damage multiplier into ferocity, and nerf the maximum amount of critical damage attainable. Their reasoning from the official post is.
“Ferocity is being introduced to make bonus critical damage easier to understand, more easily scaled across the whole game, and to help foster a healthy balance environment that encourages players to experiment with their builds.”
How is +10% increased critical multiplier, harder to understand than 150 ferocity? Were is the logic there? I have a feeling this is a low effort solution to the constant whining about the zerker meta, which is really just the meta in this game that says you don’t need any defense at all because a skilled player can clear any content with base vit/tough/hp, and just pump stats into dps…while relying on dodge and abilities to stay alive.
Now the 2nd part of that quote says they are also doing this to encourage build diversity. How is only changing the armor, and not the encounters themselves, or the core mechanics of the game going to solve anything. What is going to happen is people are going to use zerker till 100% crit damage (the new cap) then stack on assassins gear. Essentially nothing has changed, except for now the most damage possible has been nerfed by 8-18%(?)
Less dps means slower dungeon runs, which is going to actually make people hate others using non zerk EVEN MORE. And the newest generation of illegal (against the ToS) UI modification has the capability of snooping through the games memory and giving players information on peoples HP around them, thats right… people can now tell what gear you are wearing using these 3rd party programs (there’s been several threads on reddit now((deleted, dont bother looking for them you will get banned)). Anet you really dropped the ball here, these two things added together are going to make finding a dungeon group outside of a full zerker setup even harder after the patch.
I’m starting to get tired of only playing a “dps” mesmer in PvE. All that is expected of me is to dps, use reflect, remove conditions, cast time warp, and use insp. sig. Why cant I play a lockdown CC mesmer? Or some kind of fun healing build, a phantasm tanking spec or…
And to everyone saying no one will use zerker anymore… take a look at ANY of the hardcore PvE guilds and look at what they are running, its not PVT, its not a zerk mix, its pure zerk or your wont even get in and for good reason.
somthing simple, maybe a mini? for participating in so many tests.
Good idea!
Maybe give them out once a year for helping with the testing. And maybe a booster, and a level-up scroll, too!
Sorry, I’m a bit snarky today, but my point stands. They’re already “rewarding” us for playing the game. That includes dealing with the bugs that make it past their QA.
And yes, I know that it’s impossible to catch all of them. I do think a public beta server would still be a good idea, ESPECIALLY for things like the upcoming feature patch. There’s no plot to ruin here, just stuff that’s going to need a lot of people testing it and trying to break it.
I think a booster is the best idea actually, since it would enhance your time on the live servers for spending your time on the test servers.
somthing simple, maybe a mini? for participating in so many tests.
Anet made the loot system to mostly bypass MF (champ bags / chests are not effected by MF), so even tho at 400% MF you would think you are getting 4x the loot, but its much much less.
It would depend on what server you’re on. People have basically abandoned the weaker servers in droves due to free transfers and the WvW tourney.
Im not too sure about ESO. Personally I’m enjoying the game, but I don’t think it compares to GW2. And the metacrit score for it seems to agree with that.
I agree with the comment about ESO. ESO is a wannabe game. Let’s see what happens at the 3 month mark. People were to max level in ESO in 12 hours, so the game is that small. I got to lvl 20 quite easily and was bored with the game.
The new D3 content, well that is not an MMO so you really can’t equate GW2 with D3.
New MMOs aren’t the problem, the problem is when someone wants to come back to GW2 they see there is no xpac, not even an announcement almost 2 years in…that’s a bad sign. And when the only content getting released is temporary/cash shop/grind related they don’t have much reason to come back even if they are dissatisfied with WoD/ESO.
It feels like ncsoft has but this game on the backburner/maintenance mode ever since wildstar was announced. And yes they do play a major role in what goes into GW2 ($$$).
If Anet did have an xpac in the works now would be the best time to reveal/announce it (ESO is out / WoD on the horizon). But instead were are getting a QoL patch.
2 years without any sizable content release will do that to any game.
I would also really like this. Every other mmo lets you move stuff around, but not this one.
think of the implications this would have on the GW2 ESPORTS™ scene if players were allowed to use heavily modded UI’s to gain an advantage!
CAN YOU SAY SCANDALOUS?
SPvP is dead, if they used a real balanced MMR system the ques would last for hours.
I always looked at MF gear as hard mode, harder fights for greater rewards, but the zerker-only-good-for-trash-mobs players nagged Anet to death till it was removed.
you killed monsters and bosses much slower than in zerker, so much so that it was more loot in zerker. especially considering MF doesn’t effects bags/chests.
Fractal weapons are the real legendaries, you cant buy them and they are probably 10x as rare. And at least requires some kind of skill to obtain rather than mind numbing grinding.
I knew there was a lot of people using the chinese gold sites to buy legendaries early on which turned me off of it completely. Anets/NCSofts decision to make them BoE was extremely greedy, and a middle finger to those who did get them legit.
Thief
Deadly Arts – Revealed Training : Gain up to 200 power when you are revealed, based on your level. (duration is that of revealed)
Critical Strikes – Invigorating Precision : You are healed for 5% of your critical hits.

Acrobatics – Assassin’s Equilibrium : Gain 1s of stability when you are revealed.
Trickery – Bewildering Ambush : Stealing applies 5 stacks of confusion for 5s.

INVISIBILITY IS NOW INVINCIBILITY
theifs are getting some of the nicest buffs next patch, idk why you are crying about crit dmg changes that effect all classes.
we can have like 80AR now and the hardcap is still 50 WHY?
No you are cleary a sadist, There nothing I hated more in SPvP then going against the flavor of the year class that is ele. the mobility and bunker they are capable of makes them ideal for objective based battle grounds which unfortunely all spvp is.
Wow eles getting mad. Care to stick around to tell me how insanely hard your class is to play, and how every other class is ez mode?
Also the mesmer build I described only makes the mantra 33% better, nullfield, the light fields, and arcane theivery all still function the same in any spec.
for 15g thats 3 runs at 20 minutes.
3 runs bonus gold is ~11g counting the chests and everyting
rares yeild about 33s
salvaging blues and stuff gives about 3-5s each
15g is possible but only because of the bonus gold, you can do this any longer than 1 hour because the amount of gold decreases greatly over 50%.
I’ve got a better guide lol
1.) Apply for minimum wage job
2.) Work until you get a pay check (2 weeks / 80 hours)
3.) Collect your ~650 dollars and quit
4.) Buy 650 dollars worth of gems (80,000)
5.) Exchange 80,000 gems for 5200 gold
6.) Buy a legendary or two after two weeks of farmingEZ ~50 gold per hour, much higher than this guide!
See it doesn’t apply everywhere. With my job (that actually doubles minimum wage where I live) calculations would be as follow:
1.) Doubled minimum wage job
2.) Work until you get a pay check (4 weeks / 220 hours) (I get payed once a month, 10h a day + kitten saturdays)
3.) Collect your ~730 dollars (that is what I get if I exchange the currency)
4.) Buy 730 dollars worth of gems (7*8000= 56000 – not sure where did u get 80k from)
5.) Exchange 56,000 gems for 3640 gold
6.) Buy a legendary or two after one month of farming~16.5g per h. Oh well… Maybe Ill just spend it on something else.
So yea, about 8g per hour with a minimum wage job as you suggested, does not look appealing to me and also… Its not how we’re suppose to play the game.
I just found this topic yesterday, great job Vol, so bad it will not work after the patch anymore. I feel like every little way of gold farming that we find out is being hit in the face by ANet, sometimes directly, sometimes by changing something else. Not sure WHY do they not want us to farm gold in the game but either play TP or exchange top up to get some gold (well I know they get money out of buying gems but the game is not about that is it?)
Minimum wage is 8 dollars here in the states (varies state to state). Were is the minimum wage that low lol?
I did the math in another thread, Lets say you never get a precursor drop (pretty likely you wont.
1.) Apply for minimum wage job
2.) Work until you get a pay check (2 weeks / 80 hours)
3.) Collect your ~650 dollars and quit
4.) Buy 650 dollars worth of gems (80,000)
5.) Exchange 80,000 gems for 5200 gold
6.) Buy a legendary or two after two weeks of farming
EZ ~50 gold per hour, 10x the rate of regular play 5x the rate of poopsock grinding. And probably much more fun.
So whats really pathetic? Grinding or spending real money?
theres a couple dead servers, which is why next patch they are testing their new “not server merge”.
Just guest to one of the “very high” population servers and see if its better. The problem also is at this point in the games life most people are extremely burnt out on leveling and avoid it like plague using crafting routes and instant 20 scrolls etc…
You may also find that leveling in WvWvW is a lot funner, surely you will find people there.
ITT everyones mad
a good chunk of legendaries are from gold buyers, dont delude yourself into thinking they arent, or that a legendary bought with gold is any less then one from spending 1000 of hours of grinding.
Anet made legendaries BoE just so ppl would spend money on their cash shop. Why do you think asneded in account bound, because they make more money on gems and crafting boosters that way.
standard high level dungeon tour. nets around 50 to 70 gold per tour
tour lasting about 3 hours.
Dungeon touring still is, and SHOULD always be the best way to make gold in the end game. outside of economics and the trading post.
In what bizzaro world are you making ~20g an hour doing ANY dungeon?
Speedruns, although 20g is only if you have lucky drops. However 15g is more than doable.
Through what dungeon? 20 minutes would be pretty kitten good for any path of arah x3 that’s 6g + crappy drops. Im not seeing it, You are going to have to explain the times and what dungeons/paths.
If you are like in the top 0.1% of meta groups clearing arah in 5-10 minutes with 10 second lupi kills even then i don’t see 15g an hour, after 30 minutes you run out of your 3g a run bonuses and are basically just farming crap out of chests (~15 chests an hour?) And again this is with the best possible team makeup with the best possible players going at 110% efficency (no fun allowed).
I do 17 dungeon sets on my days off. I made 20-30 gold average on JUST the TP profits. Factor in the raw gold from the dungeon, some from the champ bags, along with regular loot… And that’s decent money.
~3 minutes a path is pretty impressive
(edited by Zepidel.5349)
Why do I always read that conditions are amazing / borderline OP in PvP? Are these just scrubs spouting this?
My experience with condition specs has been god awful in PvP, let me explain.
Mesmer: Literally HELL mode for me, They have a mantra that can instantly remove 3 conditions instantly 3 times with no cd (this effects all allies around them too), Null field basically makes anyone standing in it immune to conditions for the time its up, a phantasm that removes conditions. and any projetile that goes through the fields they pop up removes conditions. Then they have a skill that trades 3 of your boons for 3 of the conditions they have onto you.
Necro: their main heal removes every single condition on them and heals them for more depending on how many they had, most use this in conjunction with plague signet to pull all conditions from nearby allies to themselves. well of power turns conditions into boons (you are buffing the necro when you try to deal damage). And there’s some I’m missing I’m sure.
Gaurdian: Can turn all condition on himself into boons, can remove a boon every 10 seconds passively, 2 skills that remove conditions on self and allies on relatively low cds (15 and 20 seconds).
Ranger: With bear pet in my experience they are pretty much shake off most conditions ever 5-10.
Ele: Whenever they are in water form im pretty sure they are just immune to conditions completely.
Thief: Any sword speced thief has a 0 cd condition removal and return, out side of sword their removal isn’t to hard to deal with.
warrior: not much here
engineer: not much without the elixir gun… I think? I’m probably wrong.
All classes seem to have a trait to remove 2-3 conditions when they use their 6 heal.
With a good majority of classes having tons of utility to remove conditions, and with most of them specing for just that in PvP…. how do you deal with it? I tried playing a condition necro, and condition mes, and a condition engineer. But every time I faced those classes my conditions just melt off, or get turned into boons.
A power spec only has to really worry about protection, invuln skills, and blocks. Which are far and few between compared to the amount of condition removal mechanics in the game.
Do I just need 2 git gud? Or is this a real problem?
Almost all of my fractals are pug runs, out of the probably 200 or so runs I have only ever seen a couple people be kicked for being REALLY terrible, or afk for 5 minutes.
Everything in OP’s post are things that are really wrong with the game, and yet every post here is kissing anets kitten.
People generally play games because they like them. I really don’t understand why it would be surprising for someone to prefer the current state of the game they play, to ideas rather more reminiscent of other MMOs, which they perhaps do not play.
People do play games the like, but that doesn’t stop them from playing imperfect games. Theres plenty wrong with GW2, but not enough to stop me from playing.
GW2 is far from perfect, maybe even far from good… the problem is in the sea of crap that is MMO’s right now, GW2 manages somehow to be the best. Which is disturbing because for almost a year and a half now the game has been uncontested, and they almost have nothing to show for it post launch. And now when a real competitor shows up all they can scrounge together is a cheap QoL patch on the same day as its release.
WvWvW isn’t serious PvP by any margin, PvE elements could make it a lot more fun.
And don’t even kitten me, for 90% of the players WvWvW goes something like this…
1. Look for blue chip on the map, run to him and hope nerdo gankers don’t kill me.
2. Follow random people I don’t know from objective to objective avoiding the other 2 realms wile we rack up loot off… PvE champs
Sure is PvP!
I think if Anet made the game you want, OP, most of the people playing the game would leave. The very stuff you see as “stuff to do”, I see as a waste of time.
It’s not the the game is bad or good. The game isn’t for everyone. It works for a whole lot of people and doesn’t work for other people.
Pretty much like every other MMO in existence.
You would stop playing if they fixed the PvE meta allowing for roles besides dps? If they made world events and bosses have a meaningful impact on the game word? If dungeons were fun and rewarding? If there was more armor skins to choose from that didn’t come from the gem store? If… give me a break
Everything in OP’s post are things that are really wrong with the game, and yet every post here is kissing anets kitten.
He didn’t ask for things like “oh I wish we had flying mounts” or “oh I wish we had open world PvP” or “oh I wish we could buy instant level 80 scrollls” etc…

Dungeon touring still is, and SHOULD always be the best way to make gold in the end game. outside of economics and the trading post.
In what bizzaro world are you making ~20g an hour doing ANY dungeon? Selling spots for arah barely makes that much, and requires you to solo the entire instance, then find people to buy the spots etc…
The current best way to make money in the game is Orr farming on a guardian with MEGA AUTISM regarding server changes and knowing what events to do and were using an API / overlay etc… and thats 12g an hour?
The game is rigged to make you either…
1. Get lucky with drops, you need to of gotten at least 3-5 precursors. This is really only possible when anet does things like the karka events were they were dropping like candy.
2. Get away with exploits, early on there were people super rich within 1 month of release with karma exploits, snowflakes, vendors, then they are people exploiting arah and selling spots since anet never fixes their PvE content.
3. Spend ur scheckles on the ncsoft fun money store like a good go- guy
This is something only roleplayers really care about, which means the modding community picks up here…. but gw2 doesn’t allow modding for some reason. My guess is it might tarnish it’s reputation as the leading ESPORTS mmo.
Some people have dual legendaries. Like two incinerators, but with this new update you can have multiple skins of the same weapon. So, will all those people with dual legendaries get 1 free legendary to compensate? It’s like 1 of their legendaries just disappeared. People that have for example Eternity, get both Twilight and Sunrise, but dual wielders don’t get anything like that.
By playing an MMO you acknowledge that things can change without notice, and forfeit any right to compensation outside what the managing company chooses to give out.
The reason people with Eternity get both sub-weapons is because it’s a case of “if they have this, it’s because they had the weapons to make it.”
The legendary grind is the biggest (most disgusting and shameless) grind I HAVE EVER SEEN in an online game.
2500 gold = at best 5-13 gold an hour, so lets say 10 and be real conserverative about this. thats 250 hours of pure non stop grinding at maximum efficiency (no fun allowed). For most people 5 gold an hour is smoking along and thats 500 hours of champ train farming, now lets take playing the actual game (having fun) you make about 2g an hour, that’s over 1k hours of play to afford a legendary.
compared to ~25 hours of working a minimum wage job to convert gems into gold to buy any legendary you want.
Not only do you have legendary stats, but they are now account bound. You aren’t losing anything.
I’d be more understanding to someone who bought multiple 100g+ dyes for multiple characters. Or 8 of the same T3.
you are losing 2500 gold that could of been spent on another legendary?
No biggie I guess I make that much gold in a week
How are you losing 2500g? I’m quite confused as to how you come to this conclusion. Honestly.
No one is taking your item away. It will still be able to SWAP STATS. You chose to make it. You’ve enjoyed the item, that’s why you made it in the first place, you didn’t make it because you didn’t want it, you made it because you wanted another. You will continue to enjoy using it even after this patch.
Where exactly are you losing anything, let alone 2500g?
pre-patch you spend 4-5k gold for 2 1h legendaries to dual wield them.
Post-patch you only need to spend 2.5k or so for one.
This is not about stats, stop saying that. 1 ascended weapon costs about 75 gold in mats if you have 500 craft. 500 craft is about 200 gold. So if you really want to be stingy about this it costs 2.8k or so instead of 4-5. IDK about you but losing that much gold is pretty crappy.

A pastor at a church I once went to said something that lead me to a 5th suicide attempt. So yes, I am very well aware of the term ‘sticks and stones’, and quite frankly, it’s the worst lie this world has ever been told, because words can hurt just as much as physical pain.
If you have had 5 suicide attempts due to words then you my friend are simply a person who is not capable of playing online games. Your psyche is too fragile. You cannot and will not change people for the better. You have to have your own personal shield from the nonsense. That is the skill you need before you should play this game.
There are support groups that work on this skill.

ESRB has already told you what to expect. You chose to ignore that as well as not using the tools provided by ANET to limit your exposure.
Sorry, but this doesn’t justify bigotry. “Bigotry is OK because it’s a video game that many people play. You are too sensitive!” Ask ANet if bigoted comments are OK in public chat.
I do not agree with the OP’s suggestion, but those players should have all been banned permanently from the game. Hope they were reported, and that they no longer get a chance to spout their hate in the game (it’s NOT funny in the least.)
Telling others “your psyche is too fragile” is out of place, because you are not them. Basically you are saying that you are better than they are for having a “stronger” psyche-you are “equipped” to play online games, he/she is not. I bet even you would break in game with the right, negative trigger words.
And learn personality types-would help you a lot before judging people that are different than you. No personality is worse than each other, they are just different. Some people are almost like stone, some are “sensitive”, but both have their validity, and none is superior to each other.
Bigotry is, in any case, idiotic and unacceptable, whether you are sensitive or not.
“Don’t judge people!”
“Unless they do/act a way I don’t like!”
you cant have your cake and eat it too, if you want to accept all people… that means even those who use the word gay in any way they wish. You guys are just trying to push a leftest agenda under the guise of tolerance when its really just rampant hypocrisy.
Make all legendaries bind on equip after the patch so people with multiple of the same legendary can sell theirs.
But who are we kidding that wont happen, ncsoft would lose money.
Considering TSS is the single most point of contact for people wanting to have success at this event, what does ANet gain by sabotaging it?
Theres too many dead servers, and instead of doing a proper server merge (they are afraid it will make the game look bad, which it will server merges are always a sign of a dying game), they are masking it behind MEGASERVERS, a side effect of which is the problem presented in the OP.
The only way to fix it is to allow guilds to create their own instances and to start scaling the encounter at say 30 – 150 people.
Looks like you forgot to post this on your echo chamber OP, its ok we all make mistakes!
This is one of the side effects of Mega Servers (glorified server merge due to low pop), They are still too lazy to instance teq/wurm, because that requires actual work and doesnt make them scheckles on the cash shop.
There is no reason not to, a group of pugs will never down these bosses, they need to just turn them into completely instanced guild raids that start at 30? (2 groups per wurm head) people and scales up to 150, allowing non guild members to join as long as they are in a party with a person from that guild.
This means joining a mega guild like TTS wont be necessary to have a chance in hell to even complete this content, which is kind of absurd in the first place.
GW2 suffers from the same thing…
WAR did coming from DAoC
Post WotLK WoW did coming from pre WotLK WoW
Mass Effect 2+ coming from ME1
Dragon Age 2 coming from DAO
D3 coming from D2
the list goes on….
The original games were sort of “niche” meaning they appealed to RPG fans, and semi-hardcore gamers. Casuals and your average person would find a hard time jumping into the world and just having everything known/handed to them. But for those who “fit” in the niche it was an amazing experience.
Fast forward a few years and thanks to the success of industry once only looked at as for nerds/losers it became apparent that video games are the next big thing, the biggest thing in entertainment…bigger than hollywood.
So now all the big companies are run by businessmen instead of nerds/gamers like some of us (EA ACTIVICSION…NCSOFT) and video games are about “How many people and how much money can we make?”
So the marketing budget becomes bigger than the budget for the game itself, the core gameplay is made for the lowest common denominator as to appeal to the most people possible, and after a game is released it is severely neglected till the next cash in at an Xpac or DLC (see ncsoft diverting everything they have to Wildstar release instead of making GW2 better).
The only hope is “indie” devs like CDPR, who can pump out AAA titles in house, have no DRM, and release frequent and free updates, and generally care about the games they make. But TW3 and cyberpunk will tell if stay on this path.
but then getting ascended gear would be slightly easier and people might not use the gem store to buy gold so they can get 500 crafts!
how are they going to make money if they just make new armor skins that are earned in game instead of you having to spend money to get them
You go- guys sound so entitled, if you want free armor every new update go back to WoW.
