Should just make it so venoms will remove boons. Then thieves can be useful in the zerg w/ venomshare and we now have an incentive to use it while roaming.

Venoms are terrible because there are much better offensive alternatives, and adding a stun breaker to them isn’t really going to entice me to use them over our much better defensive utilities.

I stopped reading there, you couldn’t possibly be more wrong. The meta is Zerker Gear and traits + Skillful use of active mitigation, dodges, Condition removals, invuln, aegis, block etc…

There is also group composition, for obvious reasons guardians are amazing to have, even terrible ones at least contribute something. Then there classes like thieves, which are only valuable to the team if they are really good, having a terrible/average thief on your team is pretty much like fighting a 4v5, you know that feeling you get when there is 3 thieves on your team…ya.

1. Since I can teleport normally to some places, where the trap can’t port me, I call it buggy since that’s what I understand as Shadowstep, those “rules” are simply a result
of that bug.

2. Are we playing the same game,condi … garbage? Also there are three heals, I might
have my reasons why I don’t use a certain one. Healing amount/cd/evade and most importantly cast time Also it’s just one reason I like Shadowstep more, since it has a
wider variation of practical applications, also it has the best utility cleanse.

4. Yes to one preset location, there are various situations where it’s more usefull to go to a point you haven’t set your trap on prevously.

Condition are garbage, A guardian/Warrior/Ele will turn your condition into boons for themselves, NECROS (nuff said), Every mes worth a kitten will run NULL FIELD meaning again GG conditions in any team fight that mes is in, I could go on forever, but those are the big 3 things that come to mind.

3. Why would you be fighting on your trap? The whole point is to fight on 1 objective and have the option to escape from a losing fight / or instantly port to the other objective to deny the guy there the capture.

4. That “preset” location is 1 of the 3 most important locations on the entire map.

anyways I’ll give this 1,2,3,4 arguments about another 3 goes before I quit, you better b ready m80!

Go and play Thief with this spell one hour, come back and say again "omg this spell is OP ! " because this spell failed 8/10 attempts.

Ive been using it for a week, and Its only failed once. Wile your here how about you tell me the wonders of PvT or magic find gear in PvE or you baddass tank/condition spec!

…Is the single most overpowered utility in the game, and I’m absolutely mind boggled that i don’t see EVERY thief using this in SPvP.

The thing is alot of this stuff seems unintended, I’m almost afraid Anet will fix alot of it. But who are we kidding anet doesn’t fix anything.

Thieves are great in GvG, you just need a bit more of brain to play them, meaning on avg you would probably take any other class over a thief. The same reason we used to see ZERKER GEAR ONLY WARRIOR COF RUNS$$$$$$ was because you didn’t need a brain to 100b spam, even though a BS thief can do more DPS than a 100b warrior, its just finding THAT thief in a sea of terrible pug thieves isn’t worth it.

I honestly think we have the best AoE weapon set in the game, and like its been mentioned before with the amount of teleports we have destroying someone outside of the group is a possibility with out burst.

In full zerker gear your cluster bombs should be critting for 4-6k a piece on top of 1.8-2.5k auto attacks, which isn’t too shabby considering CB has no target limit. Add that into the fact we have unlimited blast finishers into water fields, and SR saving people left and there’s no reason to think thieves are bad in large fights.

It would be nice if anet gave us back 1200 range tho. WTF did they even take that away from us for? It took 3+ seconds for that crap to land at that distance anyways.

1. Reworked PvP rewards, introduction of arcane converter.
-Besides Laurels, PvP rewards are some of the laziest slopped together things I’ve ever seen (just recycled PvE gear given at certain levels, and doesn’t even mirror PvE progressions((Arah gear is easiest to get???)))

2. Spectator Mode.

3. Leaderboards.
- Again who cares? Solo que is literally a lottery of “Did i get on the the team with the least amount of idiots?”, then we have “team” que which is either 2/3 friends teamed with each other, casual guild 5 mans, OR 5 man teams all in voice chat that destroy any unorganized team. Leaderboards wont mean jack until there is GvG (Why is this game even called guild wars?)

4. One on One Tournament Team Matches.
- Something that should of been in from the start?

5. 3 PvP maps introduced.

6. Solo Queue.
- A terrible one that uses no matchmaking (why am I qued with lvl t1 people at t4?) Anet can say they implemented matchmaking all they want, but until I see my MMR I’m not believing a word of it.

7. Permanent finishers.
-Something that should of been from the start, Purely cosmetic, and is now used as a cash shop gimmick

8. Several UI polishing, including displaying PvP rank and minimap adjustments.
- Something that again should of been in from the start / Easily fixed if Anet allowed 3rd party mods

Things coming out by the end of this year:

1. PvP Legendaries
- Another 2000 hour grind oh boy!
2. PvP reward system completely reworked.
-This would be nice, but im pretty sure its just going to be more recycled content.

Idk for real probably like 25g a day, if you play like 4 hours. Thats doing the champ rotation in FSG, really boring stuff.

You will obviously be crafting lvl 400 stuff to go from 400-425 if not 450. Common sense stuff.

And if that stuff is also gated? If you can only craft 5 lvl400 things a day, for example……then what was the point of hoarding as it will take you and every other person doing it the same amount of time? I didnt think this was out of the realm of reality, given the crafting gating now with home instance farming and combining those.
I don’t believe we know if this is the case or not, do we?

I’m pretty sure only ascended gear will be time gated.

So its no secret that t6 mats are set to rise soon with the crafting update hitting possibly next week. I was wondering what exactly it is people who have already prepared for it have bought?

I grabbed around 1k Orichalcum ore since its basically used with every profession, and will most likely be used alot. I was also thinking the cheaper t6 mats, and ectos etc…

Or even the zerker stat related t6 mats in hopes they will be combined to make the new zerker ascended gear?

Look how much quivers and books cost to craft, now those use mats that have been around for a year, imagine what brand new mats are going to cost.

If they dont add some kind of way to obtain new ascended gear in Fracts 50-100 then your looking at around 250g a piece for gear, not to mention they are time gating it aswell!

Theres so many pieces I had tried playing but due to the insane cool down on notes its impossible to play anything besides some nursery rhymes or some really slow pieces.

An extra octave on the flute would also be very appreciated.

I could post the list of over 50 skills that remove condition then explain the meta to you and everything, but im not.

Just put on zerker gear and spec 25-30-0-0-0 and toss 15 points were ever you want, use D/D in PvE and D/P in PvP.

Then you are asking the wrong question. IT WILL work on all gathering nodes, you just want to know if t7 mats will be gathered via nodes. Delete this thread and remake one asking the right question, or you are going to get off topic posts 99% of the time.

Ummm…. lol. No. I dont care how T7 mats are gathered. I want to know if the gathering tools were designed with the intention of working on all nodes even nodes that will need to be gathered in the future.

This is my last reply to you as I forsee this turning into an argument over nothing and you provide nothing to the conversation that is useful.

But i severely doubt it.

We can argue why it is or is not worth it, the point is it is unclear, and ever since the first tool was released it has been a question if it will cover all nodes forever. Yes, I agree it really should, as I stated because they cost a lot. The point is to clarify it so a few people that are a little hesitant to buy will then buy it.

For feedback on the fact thakittens not that convenient, or its not worth it… Yeah I know, that’s why I’m on the fence on buying it or not. Tell me for sure it will be good for T7 mats or mats in an expansion, and I’m not on the fence any more, I’m buying it.

TBH they’re more of a rip off than the copper o matic.

It’s not that much of a convenience since buying a single Ori pick lasts long enough already that’s it’s not big deal, and you still have to manage picks whenever you get a bunch of high quality low quantity tools anyway.

That and the unlimited pick is worth like 800+ ori picks in gold lol.

AND it’s not account bound (insane).

The copper o matic is atleast account bound and has atleast some convenience in replacing 25 charge basic kits and freeing up inventory space on white items once in a while.

That plus w/e possibility you stated, I think unlimited ori tools are the biggest scam they’ve pulled so far lol.

I found the unlimited gathering tools to be a worthwhile purchase. I spend a significant portion of my play time in non-level 80 zones so I would previously keep tools of multiple tiers on hand. In some cases multiple tools of multiple tiers. This would tie up more of my inventory space than I liked.

Account bound vs character bound ? No difference to me.

Of course value is subjective. What is an appropriate value to me may not be to someone else, and of course the reverse is true as well.

Most people don’t see a reason to ever gather anything unless it for daily, or orichalcum ore if its right next to them, as they can just do something else and use the gold made from that to buy w/e mats they need.

Think of it as a survey to see the type of people who post here. Keep it at 10 things, and as least complicated as possible. Try to cover a spectrum of things.

1. Loot tables in dungeons changed to reflect their difficultly more, to counter the growing trend of mindless open PvE zerging.

2. Every Dungeon/World boss now has a small chance to drop a mini of themselves, along with unique gear that only drops from that boss at a small chance (BoE not BoP, give people a reason to do those obscure dungeons).

3. All Dragons revamped, they no longer scale with the amount of people and take a server wide effort to take down, the frequency of dragon spawns is lessened, and the loot changed accordingly

4. GvG PvP, along with rewards and titles etc… specific to GvG.

5. Downed state Removed from SPvP completely.

6. WvWvW revamped to something more similar to DAoC.

7. Dungeon Challenge modes (think gambits for dungeons?) And implemented in a way to discourage farming, maybe a daily rotation of certain challenges.

8. Revamped Commander toolsets, and a /commanders channel

9. Revamped Guild Tools, including keep/Town claiming, A guild calendar etc…

10. A PvP/RP server, as in Open PvP outside of WP settlements and major cities. It would give us PvPers / Hardcore players a nice little server to congregate on and there’s alot of possibilities for fun / guild rivalries etc…

Classic nerd rage, saved these for posterity sake.

Any ways D/D is in almost all cases inferior to D/P. There’s ppl who spam heartseeker like noobs, and there’s ppl who use it smartly, to close a gap, or to create one quickly. If you use the later the 1st thing that will come to an uneducated players mind is “OMG HS SPAM GET GUD SCRUBLORD!”

In a game with only 5 skills its hard to have much variety, this ofcourse leads to why GW2 PvP is a daycare/seseme street tier, I would literally rather watch a WoW PvP match.

1. You mean squad, not party.. And squad chat is the least used channel of them all.. So only showing the drawing of the commander to people in his squad? Well, he can make some nice drawings for him/herself then..

I’d really like to see something like permanent drawing on the minimap with different colors (an eraser tool aswell for obvious reasons), and a /commanders channel for each zone.

Unfortunately commanders are also players, so that means you have some griefers underneath them who will draw some very nice pictures on your map (and don’t erase them at all). Not to mention the /commander-spam you open yourself to..

Commander icons need to be reviewed and improved, but certainly not removed..

Commander tags were very lazily slopped together by Anet. The tool set is beyond shallow / uninspired.

The only reason I even bothered buying one was so people could see were stuff was going on in PvE.

I’d really like to see something like permanent drawing on the minimap with different colors (an eraser tool aswell for obvious reasons), and a /commanders channel for each zone. A PROPER raid party were I can see at least 4 other squads on the map and a /raid or /warband were all the squads under my “command” can talk to each other.

These small changes would make commander 10000x better and honestly should of been in the game from the start.

GOOD JOB OP!

Here what I and most terrible people like me will be doing.

- Kill my 8th champ
-Leave for the next camp I can get drops at
-Now a handfull of people are left fighting a ton of mobs
-They all die
-Event fails
-Tons of kitten ensues in /m

STOP nerfing peoples ability to make money, your idea is backwards.

What we need is champs spawning at EVERY event not just pirates etc… theres a reason hardly anyone bothered with minions (5-10 chests vs 1) that’s a real hard choice!

Money is this game is HARD to make, theres a wall that almost no one can pass until they get a precursor drop, otherwise your average person makes ~5g a day, especially now that emberfarm and deadeye are gone.

If you’re looking for a balanced build, you might want to try going with less crit chance. The mathematically ideal crit chance is 41.9%, so you’re wasting a whole 10% that could be put into something that would benefit your build more, like vitality or healing power.

Sorry can’t imagine myself playing something that needlessly glassy.

Have you not be in the 1000’s of threads were its basically proven that active mitigation via dodging/invuln/stealth etc…. is a million times more valuable than passive mitigation via more HP / toughness?

You might be able to shave 3-5k off of that backstab/eviscerate/heart seeker with toughness and vit, but you can shave ALL of it off with 1 dodge. Meaning the better someone is the more the tend to higher dps gear with more active mitigation.

Don’t condemn yourself to mediocracy through vit/toughness gear, and instead learn how to get better at that game. This IS the side effect of no trinity.

I absolutely understand the sentiment and have no intention of standing like an idiot while ppl are taking swings at me. Dodging and evading its 100% damage mitigation and plan on using the mechanic to the fullest whenever possible. I just feel that I’m losing far more than gaining by going fully offensive. Take a look at the build I just posted and let me know what you think. Has more zerk pieces btw.

Something that is rarely if ever discussed is approach. You need to survey every fight before you engage, and engage properly based on that.

For instance in just about ever 1v1 situation you might find yourself in imaginable your D/P is your best choice, just go in and do your thing. VS a mesmer for isntance you might want to use sb for obvious reason till ~30 when you can drop the big HS burst in combination with some form of CC / or knowledge that he can’t evade / stealth out of it.

In a 1v2 situation you use a sb and pressure, you aren’t trying to kill anyone, keep SR ready to get out of dodge if they go for you.

2+v2+ again its best to let your friend go in wile you rain down clusterboms and poison fields, until again you see an opportunity to burst someone down. SB does MASSIVE dmg to groups, and should be what you are using in a TPvP match 60% of the time, unless you are roaming solo between points picking off people.

1v1 balance should not be ignored.

1v1 balance for what? the 1v1 SPvP modes or duels? LOL

The game should be balanced around 5v5 teams, meaning some builds should smash others. I bet you think DotA should be balanced 1v1 aswell.

LoL is an example of a game were they try to make 100+ builds balanced somewhat on a 1v1 level, what you end up with is 100 different builds that are pretty much the kitten same / boring as hell.

Tons of other MMORPG’s did it, so your argument is invalid. And let me clarify that I mean balance that the majority is happy with, not PERFECT balance, as that is, indeed, impossible.

Lets just make every class the same then

Have you not be in the 1000’s of threads were its basically proven that active mitigation via dodging/invuln/stealth etc…. is a million times more valuable than passive mitigation via more HP / toughness?

You might be able to shave 3-5k off of that backstab/eviscerate/heart seeker with toughness and vit, but you can shave ALL of it off with 1 dodge. Meaning the better someone is the more the tend to higher dps gear with more active mitigation.

Don’t condemn yourself to mediocracy through vit/toughness gear, and instead learn how to get better at that game. This IS the side effect of no trinity.

GW2 tries to appeal to everyone, and ends up with a watered down experience for everyone. A hardcore player and a casual certainly can play this game and have some fun doing so, but not near as much as a game catered to their individual needs.

Essentially this game is becoming a cash grab catering to the lowest common denominator instead of making a really great game a group of people will really enjoy, GW1 brought me in because I was a hardcore PvP fan, though the PvE wasn’t 1/2 bad either.

this is why I have a rule to never play alts in RPG’s and rather just have 1 good character. Its not all your fault, Anets daily design is pretty garbage tier.

I’m not sure that is meant for young kid.

Cooking people in a pot is a classic feature of bedtime stories for young kids.

The average 8-12 year old plays CoD/GTA, knows every single curse/racist slur in the book, and is probably no stranger to pornography. I severely doubt a mention of someone getting cooked alive with corrupt their pure souls. Welcome to 2013.

so condition builds dont kill an opponent in 3 seconds, sorry but I actually look for fights and WANT my opponent to fight back. I swear some of you backstab thieves act like if we dont hit 11k backstabs we’re practicing withcraft or something. . I win more than my share of fights despite that list. I guess I just fight nothing but “brain dead” players all the time

No sarcasm required, thieves are thieves stop trying to play a subpar necromancer with stealth. Its not about doing MLGPR0 DEEPS its about using the best spec available to us and learning how to use it well. You can keep trying to be a special snowflake, but you will always have done better as a zerker D/P thief in any PvP situation.
