They would have won, but that guy has bad internet connection. Its the same guy dc’ing. Its not like player a dc’s then player b dc’s than player c dc’s… same people dc’ing.
If its a server issue you will see multiple/possibly all of the people get hit at same time.

He was pointing out that in exception to one time, you referred to both teams as “blue”

This is absolutely sickening, If anet wants to hold a proper tournament, they need to have the appropriate systems in place to hold one.

I can’t ask for LAN/Wired connection methods, but at least postpone your tournament until your current server issues are resolved.

The players rely on your servers, in combination with their ISP, 2 very fickle systems. And I just witnessed a game go 4v5 from the very beginning of the match, no intervention from admin, and they simply just gave the match away rather than restarting.

I don’t know about you, but this is unacceptable behavior from the admins and to be honest, the casters seem completely oblivious to the fact that this creates a massive unfair divide. It was almost as if they didn’t care, or feel that they may as well fight a 4v5 “just because”.

These tournaments are becoming a disgrace to proper #esports

Proposition:

When a player selects to join spectator, they are locked into spectator for 1 minute.

Problem:

In Hotjoin matches, players who are in Spectator are considered “active players” by the server architecture.

Example: So lets say there are 10 total players in the server, 1 in spectator, 4v5 playing. the “play now” feature automatically searches for low population matches that have just begun.

This server now becomes exempt from the “play now” feature, and this is one of the primary reasons for 0-500 4v5 matches. The only way more players will join the server is if the match is within the first couple minutes of starting, or if they manually select the server from the server list/browser.

This needs to be addressed first.

What’s the better option to have in my secondary weapon slot, and why? I mainly ask because I see many warriors with bows, and many with rifles. There doesn’t seem to be a huge bias one way or the other

I see far more warrior with longbows than rifles. But I also play more PvP than PvE, and the warriors I do see with rifles, tend to die shortly after I see them in the first place.

I will make a video, for those who did not play GW1, a lot of this is already in full concept.

The announcement information was seen when you login (not in a launcher), and was also available in-game from NPCs. The HUD was fully customizable and there were just much more freedom given to player in regardless or how they accessed information about the game, and how they viewed it. Oh and they had a further back camera zoom which was also awesome >.>

skill sets are not designed as combos….and never have been, they are organized via cooldowns (Lowest <-> Highest)

But… they have identical cooldowns…

So? they were never designed to be in any particular combo order is the point I was trying to make. They could have been swapped, but that is completely up to the discretion of whoever was in charge of that design choice.

It is just some minor personal preference things for me on GS

I run bulls over bolas, hydro/battle on GS, Air/Fire(or ice…ive been testing ice alot lately) on LB.

And just trait changes really, I run last stand in the last defense spot, mobile strikes (3 movement skills on the build), dogged over sure footed, and hoelbrak runes over strength.

Really just little preference changes overall, it all depends on your playstyle.

When an enemy is under pressure, a Bulls > Fan of Fire > Weapon Swap (hydro/dmg/chill) > HB can be devastating.

Would you rather know that you an immob available when you use one of your weapon skills that applies cripple OR do you want to have it randomly proc when you crit with any skill/utility while you have that weapon set equipped? Personally, I would prefer the former of these scenarios.

I thought of this too….Especially when thinking about the weapons this would be good with.

Rifle*******for great kiting and kill shot.
Axe******** for landing the eviscerate almost guarantee
Great sword*******so they can’t move away from 100b and burst skill

Rifle and Axe have great cripple skills, especially rifle. Greatsword on the other hand doesn’t the cripple is only on the way back. and not as reliable.

I think Rifle is the correct secondary weapon though because it’s adept trait is the perfect trait to take on your wait to opportunist.

I’ll have to test to confirm, but I am almost gauntanteed that Bladetrail cripples regardless of it going out or coming back.

EDIT: Definitely cripples on first and second hit

I still strugle, Idk if it is the learning process is more difficult than I expected or the spec is not worth it and easy to fight against.

I have been running GS/Bow for ages (before Cleansing Ire was added), and that is pretty much the same as what I run (bar a few changes) and I still find plenty of success with it.

You know you can have both right? essentially, if you want to guarantee immobs then you use your skills/utilities, and the leg specialist + 60% chance on crit gives you MASSIVE sticking power in between….also remember that little update that made immob durations stack? ya..that is still a thing.

Would be absolutely amazing.

The strategic pvp aspects of Gw1 with customizability of the Dojos would be great, but probably near impossible, and I am unsure which of the 2 would be more beneficial. I would lean towards the PvP side since that instantly turns into viable End-Game content for players.

Perhaps a combination…Full customizable Guild Halls akin to the Clan Dojo, but with a combat arena built into the instance for Guild vs Guild action. the best of both worlds

Most people don’t realize how much the trinkets actually add!

at max level, a full set of ascended trinkets + backpiece gives more stats than an entire set of armor.

It is nearly a 50/50 between them.

So missing those 2 earrings is the same as missing 2 pieces of armor all together, and noone would run around without armor pieces if they have access to them right?

Get some rare trinks/rings the armor can be greens with some rares until 80. But you always want to occupy stat slots (armor AND accessories)

I have been running GS/LB since before they added Cleansing Ire (quite a while) and have enjoyed every second. Still run it, and still love it :P

I must be one of the few people that don’t actually have that much bad luck with Bulls (rush never works though) so it is one of my go-to Utilities.

I still prefer Balanced stance due to its lower CD without traits, and you can’t really say swiftness is a bad thing to have.

The extra toughness is nice, but I use my stability in 2 ways, either to setup a burst (prevent interrupt) or to stomp someone downed. Since I need it for both of these, the lower CD helps me much more than a temporary bit of toughness.

But it all depends on playstyle, and what you need it for.

the reason is simple, if you can determine which one is best by simply making 2 opponents dueling each others then just figure out its result, it ruins game itself actually. if you are game creator you probly dont wanna making your game look cheap by makinh dueling arena so people can find fastest way to conquer the game balance design & system itself. it should leave something abstract and undeterminable to make customer play the game longer i mean. Anet need to ban all custom dueling arena to make game their game valuable.

Short answer: No.

Long answer: The players are in control of the dueling servers, not Anet, they purchased the tokens, they get to choose how the arena works. Anet did not create anything related to dueling yet, it is all player made.

And on top of all that, you want them to BAN the players who are giving them a source of income? good luck with that buddy…

No, not really, this isn’t about the clock game, it is just about a basic progression across a map, everyone can participate to it just by doing events anywhere on the map. Pavillion was a zerg run, clockwise scramble against a clock, nothing the same if it is built right.

One problem I see with this suggestion is that some of the Dry Top events fail even with a fair number of people. If every map had similar mechanics, there would not be enough players in all of them. How fun would Dry Top be if only a few people were there? As it is, some maps have things for small numbers of players to do. Sometimes I prefer playing like that. I would not want every map to require a mass of players to get things done.

This is not an issue with the reward system, it is an issue with how the events are designed, which can potentially be changed on the fly, so it should not be an issue.

It is the same template as pavillion. Wih all the same quirks and same “if its not gold”=“if its not t5+ map” crap.

And no, redesgning whole map with events cannot be done “on the fly” lol

What happens when dry top indeed becomes….dry top (and how its set up its self destructive system). 1 odd maplike that isquite enough for a long long while.

No I am not suggesting a tier system, read past the title.

And yes they can, and have, changed events MANY times on the fly, in various patches. the events get changed, not the map, which is what you seem to be misinterpreting, and that line I wrote was only for the events that are not balanced properly to its scaling, hence the quote to Indigo

Really, go to your FIRST post and read it. Thats EXACTLY what you propose (no. of tiers is irrelevant, is it a “bar” tier or “number” tier is irrelevant)

I dont think “on the fly” means what you think it means……

Let me simplify it for you, since it seems to complex for you to understand:

a.) the mechanic would be perpetual (not reliant on timers, you don’t have to do X event in Y amount of time at Z time)

b.) the rewards per event are improved globally, with additional optional rewards depending on the perpetual bar

c.) The optional rewards are determined by the momentum bar, which is altered by any player completing events anywhere in the map.

Think of the momentum bar similar to how the Adrenaline bar works for warrior.

All-in-all, the maps would be the same, nearly exactly the same, but with higher rewards for events, and additional rewards for player interaction.

I cannot fathom how people are misunderstanding this so greatly….please don’t post unless your brain works please >.>

btw, on the fly just means they are working on changing things while the game is running….which I guess you do not realize, is how every single one of their updates is.

No, not really, this isn’t about the clock game, it is just about a basic progression across a map, everyone can participate to it just by doing events anywhere on the map. Pavillion was a zerg run, clockwise scramble against a clock, nothing the same if it is built right.

One problem I see with this suggestion is that some of the Dry Top events fail even with a fair number of people. If every map had similar mechanics, there would not be enough players in all of them. How fun would Dry Top be if only a few people were there? As it is, some maps have things for small numbers of players to do. Sometimes I prefer playing like that. I would not want every map to require a mass of players to get things done.

This is not an issue with the reward system, it is an issue with how the events are designed, which can potentially be changed on the fly, so it should not be an issue.

It is the same template as pavillion. Wih all the same quirks and same “if its not gold”=“if its not t5+ map” crap.

And no, redesgning whole map with events cannot be done “on the fly” lol

What happens when dry top indeed becomes….dry top (and how its set up its self destructive system). 1 odd maplike that isquite enough for a long long while.

No I am not suggesting a tier system, read past the title.

And yes they can, and have, changed events MANY times on the fly, in various patches. the events get changed, not the map, which is what you seem to be misinterpreting, and that line I wrote was only for the events that are not balanced properly to its scaling, hence the quote to Indigo

ooooh, no. Its same thing like pavillion. And, i called it right back then. This kind of maps should be rare exception.

And they again messed up rewards, though not as bad as pavillion, but not much better.

I remember this being discussed somewhere – can’t remember the thread name.

I think the Dry Top setup has some advantages, but it also has some problems. Problems like the fact that everything is a time-pressure-race if you want to unlock the best rewards. Or the fact that you can’t break the monotony and go farm in a different zone if you’re going for Dry Top rewards. It’s been an incredibly easy zone for me to get burned out on.

Don’t get me wrong though; I’d be interested to see what it might look like in another zone, with some improvements. Particularly some of the classic zones, like Harathi Hinterlands (which already has some framework in place if they wanted to try a “zone-control / NPC vs. player” type of design).

I think a better design rather than the time-rush would be simply a momentum bar.

A bar that fills while players complete events all across the zone, in essence, building momentum. If players start failing events, or less events get started/completed, the momentum will start to fade and the bar will start to drain.

The more filled the bar, the better the current rewards will be. (rewards from vendors, as well as from event completions). Similar to a tug of war, the players vs the zone (not the clock)
