That is for alts, not new players, new players (new accounts) cannot use the button/binding etc.

Which is why all the accounts made for the tournament are auto leveled to 22, so they can access PvP

I just noticed this.

I love how they have to bypass their own asinine NPE decision that requires players to be level 22.

So they have to make all the participants level 22 manually, so they can enter the PvP Lobby just to play…..GG

Or lets do it the other way around:

No more soloq, only full teams. No more QQ as it’s a teamgame after all. Less stress put on the matchmaking.
Would at least create a more competitive scene.

But this won’t happen of course.

You don’t see that this would more than likely kill the pvp scene entirely? a large chunk of the playerbase would not waste the time making teams to wait in line for a match each time. The amount of players would dwindle down to a point where you would only have a few teams fighting at a time all together.

Bolt and Mjolnir are sought after skins, it is not as if others don’t use those lodestones, it is that they are part of skins people aren’t as interested in, or weapons that aren’t used as much, or sigils that aren’t as strong. etc.

Why is it good exactly? I doubt they are actually learning anything by doing this.

I’ve played with Hugh for probably 40 hours in the last two weeks, I can say with confidence that he has improved.

I’m not talking about how they improve as players, I am talking about what they can learn that will help them to improve the game.

A short amount of time later, Hugh very excitedly told us that dialogue happened with Evan Lesh and that would no longer happen. :P

This is what I would hope would happen at any rate, more systems analysis from a player’s perspective was lacking beforehand, hopefully now we can see these relays more often in the future.

Although this wasn’t intentional, it happened simply because the group was fortunate enough to encounter the annoyances, if you hadn’t though, who knows when the talks would have happened.

interesting that you would put words in my mouth….when was this a thing? your assumptions are an issue. “Ever” was a poor word to use there, speaking in absolutes is nonsensical. Removing “Ever” would fit what my actual skepticism is, since it all revolves around time.

Sometimes you can back out of a match when seeing it….then get the same match 3 more times when hitting the button, then it changes to a different one that is the same thing…400-50, then you opt out again, and it puts you back in again, then changes to another…

If you’re going into the practice game mode for anything other than mechanical practice on a class/build that is new to you, I don’t see the point. I say that because you will not get conquest practice as it is designed, due to team switching and outnumbered.

That being said, you just join what team has room and start engaging in fights you need the practice in. Why does the game score matter at all since a true 5v5 from start to finish with the same five is basically non-existent in that pvp mode.

Well then, perhaps there should be another option:

Practice: Score is not recorded in this match, capture points are not active, and map changes every 15 minutes.

Hotjoin: (our current Practice) but with proper systems in place to provide a jump in/out game-mode but still have proper auto balance and proper locks in place for spectator modes etc.

Unranked: same as current

Ranked: Similar to current, but with a pre-requisite for entry (not much, but something small)


Also:

This would apply to non-custom arenas.

Upon joining a server, all options will be available to a player:

— Join Red | Join Blue | Spectator | Auto (new) —

  • If a player remains in the server for 20 seconds without choosing an option, they will automatically be moved to Spectator Mode.
  • Player’s choices will be initially locked to their selection, the team they chose, or Spectator Mode with minor exceptions.
  • If a player leaves a team to join spectator mode, they will be locked into spectator mode for the remainder of the match, in exception to Substitution (explained later)
  • Substitution Mode: When a player is in Spectator Mode (Spectator mode must be their initial choice) and autobalance occurs in a match, players in Spectator Mode will be given the option to “Substitute” onto the underpopulated team and receive a bonus similar to the Volunteer Bonus.
  • Players who join spectator mode from previously playing in the match (choosing a team initially) will not be given the option to Substitute, and remain locked in Spectator Mode.
  • Auto Team Option: The Random Team option will be replaced with “Auto” team option. Meaning a player who initially chooses this option when entering the server, will automatically be pooled into the Volunteer selection when autobalance is required. I am gonna bump this, mainly because no matter how you look at it, this shouldn’t be how hotjoin works…

Joining matches that are 350-120, or 5v2, it is simply infuriating and shouldn’t be a thing…

put some kind of system in that can help alleviate this type of match choice

I have one 29 Warrior and a 20 Elemental that i want to focus on. Map exploration is fine as i said if you like that kind of stuff but i prefer other ways of leveling.

Give PvP a chance then, it will be a difficult way to get started, and you may need to turn off your chat window from time to time….but:

  • you gain an alternative way of leveling and acquiring loot
  • you can fully explore the combat system, traits, weapons, runes, sigils, etc.
  • you will improve as a player, since low-mid range PvE will rarely utilitze certain systems effectively, such as dodging, condition management, CC effects, etc.

I’d say put them in the account wallet like dungeon tokens.

They aren’t a currency, that would be nearly pointless.

You could refined them. There also the collection size expander its up to 750 i think. As things stand blood dust can be used with the new back item that eats it for rng items and you can use it to craft a number of consumable items. The other 2 items there is nothing so far.

There is actually an item for empyreal that was added at Xmas.

Apparently they don’t want players to actually enjoy content they make for extended periods of time.

They would much prefer us to have gem store garbage, mini grinding festivals and silverwastes farming to tie us over….they don’t care about their playerbase, and they can see their playerbase is starting to care less about them in return.

I recently just completed a Borderlands map on an alt, it gave me a key for the reward.

With that key, I got a ticket scrap + another key. Used that key and got another ticket scrap + a claim ticket.

And i had 8 scraps previously so now i have 2 claim tickets, depending on how I play my cards that could be a few hundred gold.

It is all luck based, simple as that. NRNGeesus favored me.

1.) With the expansion and new maps revolving around being so vertical, is there any work being done on improving the issues with the Z-axis? such as fixing falling damage and how leap and movement skills work over uneven terrain and gaps.

2.) with the new additions to pvp with stronghold combining aspects of both sPvP and WvW is there any plans to improve the tutorials for these 2 game modes?

3.) We have heard some whispers about the trait system getting a revamp, will other areas of character progression be changed and improved in the future?

I must be ridiculously lucky then, I have not tried my hand with the mystic toilet much.

But I have managed to get 2 pres from it so far, and both happened within the first couple tries.

First was when I got dawn, I threw in roughly 20 rare GS into the forge and got it on my 2nd try.

Then dusk, I bought 50g worth of exotic GS and got it on my 4th try.

They need to lock-in the initial choice of a player who joins hotjoin.

Choose red? then you are on red, choose blue? then you are on blue, Spectator? then spectate.

It is the ease of changing on a whim that destroys the system.

If the game needs balancing, let it balance, don’t let players manipulate it themselves so heavily.

If a player chooses a team, they will be allowed to join spectator. But if a player chooses spectator the only time they should be allowed back into the game is if:

- They rejoin the server manually

- The servers gives them a prompt similar to Autobalance to make them a “substitute” and place them on the team that needs the player instead.

A few things to note:

  • Autobalance will more than likely take people who joined the server late/last as the people it chooses.
  • Autobalance as a popup gives you the opportunity for a free Win reward + bonus for clicking the Volunteer button
  • Volunteer follows the same properties as autobalance, and selects the latest person to join. (If multiple players hit Volunteer)
  • Autobalance is much less likely to occur after 1 team has hit 400 points.

In such moments i would love to take refund and lost time on this game…

Or perhaps we gain a 5%-10%-15% damage buff for x seconds right after spending adrenaline? Either of these two idea should encourage the use of our burst and build back our adrenaline before the buffs runs out.

I dont see why they didnt just add that 1 extra mechanic to chill (the animation slowing) since the rest is already part of it as a condi…

chill + slow is going to be nearly a daze or stun when used in conjunction, but not effected by stun breaks :/

The skills definitely need to be less clunky though, most of the time if you are in a rotation of your 1 skill, you have to literally cancel cast to try and use another skill (when you want to)

How to check my skill level?

Your skill level is a combination of how mechanically inclined you are, your ability to play with teammates, your ability to play against opponents, and your knowledge of maps and their objectives.

You cannot simply say “this is my skill level” because it doesn’t really exist that way.

[Suggestion] Spectator Changes

We also need something like:

- Team choices at the start of a match are locked until the start of the next match. Including Spectator Mode.

- If a player enters spectator mode during a match, they must remain in spectator mode for 120 seconds, or until the next match, or they re-enter the server.

- Spectator mode now offers a “substitute” button for teams with lower members than their opposition, allowing them to fill a team spot from spectator mode only, and grants a small bonus.

- Volunteering and Autobalance are now the only way for players to change teams after the match has begun.

People have different interpretations of the term.

In the Black Citadel for example, you can see players emoting, and talking in a way that takes them out of their role as a player, and they turn themselves into their character.

That is where the divide happens, you are playing a roleplaying game, but not everyone actively put themselves into a “character” while playing. Having a persona in-game that reflects the game’s world, instead of your own.

I am not a role player for example, I talk to players, not their characters, I act like a person playing a game, not a member of the College of Statics. etc.

Meanwhile we are at it, anyone have a guide for bunker strategy’s and roamers rotations?

Pretty much all linked guides on the sticked topic are down. I can’t find that kind o information anywhere. (that sucks since 90% of SoloQ loses is because the team doesn’t know how to rotate)

I am trying to lead a few friends through the starter zones and I feel I might lose them from the game at the current rate.

I directed them to a Vista and they asked “Are these supposed to be on my map?”

They walked up to a communable skill point and asked “what is it?”

They wanted to know how to craft, so I tried to direct them to a merchant that would sell them salvage kits and gathering tools….apparently you can’t even SEE the tools/kits in the merchant without being sufficient level?! WHAT?!

They also thought that dancing for cows was “incredibly stupid”

Thing is, by adding more gamemodes (see: Stronghold) with more mechanics, it is vital that players know at minimum the basics of PvP, and the current tutorial does not push that hard enough, and does not provide players with the information needed to allow them to customize their pvp loadouts.

Armor repair has no purpose anymore

Interesting thoughts here. I always think of it as a gentle reminder of my need to use care in what I do. Especially that #%@$ jumping puzzle amongst the trees… at which I died multiple times. You know, “Play more wisely.” I don’t love the runs to the repair NPC, but I don’t resent them.

It’s good to see other players’ thoughts on the matter.

I feel the complete opposite.

I don’t even realize the mechanic exists until a piece of armor is broken

It basically gives you 6 free lives before it starts making you rethink anything….then you can just talk to some NPC, and not have to think about it anymore.

It is pointless, doesn’t add any sense of caution and does nothing until an armor peice is broken, when it simply becomes a slight annoyance at that point.

Where is the 2v2, 3v3 competitive arenas?

I doubt this would split the community much…since these matches would actually START without playing the wait-in-line simulator for 10 minutes aka Unranked/Ranked Queue in Heart of the Mists.

Meaning people would actually get to pvp, and more people would probably use this instead.

any time you enter a queue, there is a wait time.

gw1 RA queues were about 30 secs… back in my day… GET OFF MY lawn u kids

back in my day, the timer never reset when looking for a team, so it could have been less than 30 seconds!
