This also caught my eye. Wonder what it will do…
As far as i’m aware the bulk of the reward is not daily, but instead unlimited… only the 1 small daily chest is daily.
Before ascended crafting almost all tiers of cloth and leather were at vendor price with millions and millions of excess. People bought them all in preparation for armor crafting. There is an oversupply of these items, they certainly don’t need to make them drop more.
I know I am personally holding onto 10k silk, and 1k of all other tiers of cloth in preparation. I will hopefully up my stock to 2k before it goes live.
They will never make their employees come into work at 2:00 AM local time so you aussies can play the patch before everyone else is awake.
Almost every patch is deployed at about 12:00 PM Anet time, with the occasional patch an hour on either side of that.
or in a less sad sacky, passive aggressive, whiney and more problem solving oriented tone: give every incoming condition application above maximum a direct damage bonus on it´s underlying attack.
This was actually more of a post to highlight the severity of the problem. I have heard a number of power spec people tell me how the condition situation is a “minor” problem or “not worth fixing”. This post is to show what the limitation would look like when applied to direct damage users, and show them how much of a handicap it would be.
I finally figured out a way without technical limitations to balance condition users with direct damage users. This will allow both types of damage to finally be on equal footing and have the same rules and limitations applied to them:
In order to make it fair to condition damage specs, the following rules have been implemented in every game mode:
1. Upon striking an enemy 25 times with a direct damage attack the enemy will gain a “debuff” which reduces incoming direct damage from all sources by 95% for the next 5 seconds.
2. This debuff will be reapplied for an additional 1 second upon each successful direct damage attack after 25.
3. The direct damage component of condition users (read, almost 0 dmg) will count against the total as well.
There now power builds have the same limitation that condition user have had to deal with for the last 12 months. Enjoy how “fun” this is.
Lets flip this around and see how you would like this “minor” problem:
In order to make it fair to condition damage specs, the following rules have been implemented in every game mode:
1. Upon striking an enemy 25 times with a direct damage attack the enemy will gain a “debuff” which reduces incoming direct damage from all sources by 95% for the next 5 seconds.
2. This debuff will be reapplied upon each successful direct damage attack after 25.
3. The direct damage component of condition users (read, almost 0 dmg) will count against the total as well.
Now tell me again about how “minor” this problem is?
Please please please review the condition cap.
Pretty much the whole Necro class is based around condition damage and we are massively kitten in PVE by the limit.
Right now Necros have to fight and beg like crazy to participate in dungeons due to the cap!
Some comments have suggested balance would be affected if the condition cap was raised, but right now Necros can be prevented from doing any damage at all by other classes applying incidental conditions with minuscule amounts of damage that knock our high-damage conditions off the target entirely!
Is it balanced that when Necros are solo they can do full damage, whereas in groups they can’t?
“Right now Necros have to fight and beg like crazy to participate in dungeons due to the cap!”
its not due to the cap, its because you conditionnecros dont know how to play your class in pve. get berserker gear and scholar runes. when you see your damage numbers for the first time you will understand.
even with higher condition cap a berserker necro would laugh about your condition damage.
just an example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ckhmyUfC2Q&feature=youtu.be&t=2m29s+ if u think necro is built around conditions you are simply wrong.
Thank you for proving the point so nicely. As you can see, other players consider the use of conditions as being “simply wrong”, or “laughable”.
This is a MAJOR design flaw in the game that has seen no improvement in the last 12 months.
I don’t actually see a problem with Burning or Poison right now because both are set up to where the effect with the hghest damage is always applied first, plus, all the condition damage that you apply with those sources will eventually deal damage. Bleeding however, that is a problem.
I can’t see it doing 25 stacks per person because then 50+ players could end up doing 175000+ damage per second, and make every boss encounter way too easy if you just fire off conditions and forget about anything else. I can also see problems with more than 25 Stacks, especially in areas other than World Bosses…
Why is that a problem? 50+ warriors can do 50x the damage as 1 warrior. 50x rangers can do 50x the damage of 1 ranger, 50x of any direct damage spec can do 50x the damage as 1 direct damage spec.
Now switch to condition damage. 1 condition damage user can do 1k dps. 2 condition damage users can do 1k dps… 1234568r563453725937845893 condition damage users can do 1k dps…
It is a problem and it needs to be fixed.
finally we can enjoy crafting cuz who doesnt want a piece of thos greatswords
They can’t be crafted, they are an extremely rare drop for winning the new Teq fight.
Cof P1 farm. You only get the bonus chest once, but you get the fragments every time.
COF is BACK!!!
I haven’t touched a champ farm in 3 weeks and yet I have 20 stacks of this stuff…
I get 1-2 stacks a night just from doing world events and dungeons… It seems to be WAYYY over tuned. They should really bring it in line with the other mats.
They should add this topic to the list of bannable offenses unless accompanied by a video of 1000+ salvages as proof.
The ecto rate is fine, reporting this to be closed now.
…yes i’m sure your soldier’s build can do more damage if I am AFK too, or playing another game, but none of that has to do with much of anything. When comparing potential of builds they need to be on equal footing, same gear, same buffs, same traits. In full buffs soldier will do a slight amount of damage more, but that will almost instantaneously be overtaken when crits are enabled on the fight, and then zerkers will vastly outpace all other specs.
Plus you CAN CRIT FOR 40% OF THE FIGHT!!!!!
If you are going to keep ignoring this fact then I am done responding to you.
A condition damage build does almost 0 damage to world bosses, our conditions give NO damage since the conditions are all capped by a single player, and our auto attacks do 150-200 dmg against lvl 80 bosses. A single zerker/soldier/cleric auto attack does more damage then I can do in half the fight. This is why condition specs are broken.
Oh wow, what a sly update. A pretty big one too. Guess alot of people must have made some good money on that. Shame I didn’t notice lol. Stuff like that really should be in the patch notes.
yeah people made a crap ton of money from that… there were multiple 1000’s of those back items listed for <5s… which you can now salvage for a 20s gem + a 30s ecto. People bought them by the 1000’s and made 1000’s of gold. I too missed out unfortunately.
I have crafted 2 ascended weapons, and will soon have a third. I won’t be worried if armor crafting piece by piece requires a similar crafting process. You don’t have to be a hardcore player to get this stuff IMHO.
I must say however, the new players will find the grind hard to endure, as the older players already have most of the mats saved up beforehand. Starting with little or no mats will suck.
15 temple events and 25 dungeons isn’t hardcore? Ya you can do it overtime, but I sure don’t want to do 15 temples and 25 dungeons per piece of freaking armor.
Is there some limit to how fast you have to do this i’m not aware of? First off you can do 15 world events (not sure why you would only do temples when all world events give shards) in about 45 minutes, not really what I’d call even super casual, let alone hardcore.
Dungeons I agree are a little more work. If you do Cof 1/2 twice a day though it only takes 45 minutes for 6 days to get enough shards… not even a week of playing 45 minutes a day plus one day of an additional 45 minutes… Oh boy the shock and horror of the “hardcoreness” is overwhelming lol.
Yep it is confirmed to be coming this year according the to July blog post. It will probably come in November if I had to guess. By that point people will be done with all their ascended weapons and bored again.
Amusing trend I noticed as I pick up more and more Dire pieces (just got Asc Dire Scepter ps:regret this action), I’m becoming an unshakable aggro magnet
Why do you regret it? I too am getting dire pieces. I only need weapons and trinkets now, i finally got full dire with travelers for WvW roaming.
In PvE more toughness = more aggro.
So great for WvW where it is players, bad for PvE where everything and their brother will attack you until you die.
It looks like there are some starts towards improving condition damage in there.
Are there any additional plans for condition damage? All condition users have been essentially completely useless in 90% of the game for over a year now. Are there any fixes coming?
Individual stacks for everyone would of course be ideal, but since your servers are from the 70’s or something I guess this isn’t possible. How about individual stacks only on world bosses? surely if you can handle just that? or what about individual stacks just in dungeons? this would be equivalent to adding 5 mobs to a spawn in a dungeon… I KNOW the servers can handle that.
All these changes and tweaks are nice, but condition damage is a fundamental part of your games combat and it has been fundamentally broken since launch. At this point it is become sort of an embarrassment to tell people about. Please fix it.
where can I find these? anyone have a link?
Useless in “Most of the game’s content”? Really? Rubbish.
OP is getting a bit polemic. This problem is fairly minor.
So i’m useless in every group event… world boss… and dungeon… but that isn’t the majority of the game?
I suppose I can craft as good as a zerker build… yay me?
Why do people keep talking about zerker dps on the boss? You can’t crit tequatl… precision and crit dmg useless so PTV or cleric’s for power builds. Condi builds also shouldn’t be defending the cannons because unless you’re organized and spiking condis on 1 mob then epidemicing it (lol coordination in pug pve zerg?), you aren’t going to take them out fast enough compared to power based dmg spiking.
People keep saying this… It’s like they have never actually fought teq… or I guess they are so zerg minded they just spam 1 and never actually look at their damage.
While it is true that you cannot crit teq during the first part of the fight, once the laser goes off it enables crits to take place. That’s the whole point of the giant laser. That’s why his health goes down very slowly at the beginning but then plummets to 0 when the laser goes off. The laser does no actual damage, it just enables crits.
And guess what? I’m still doing more damage across the whole fight than your puny little Zerker build. So, crit builds are Still USELESS in a world boss fight. Seriously, get off the crits. You guys are just as Useless as Condition builds are right now!
I would love for you to enlighten me on what build does more damage than zerker even without crits. Also i’m a condition build… and I assure you, I am much less useful than a zerker build.

Conditions will be viable for the chunks where players have to defend against waves of mobs, especially as they’ll have to spread out.
There will always be mobs attacking the cannons, so condition users should focus on those to get the most out of their stats.
This is the answer to the problem, and the entire reason the OP will NEVER do it. He wants to go toe to toe with the boss like a zerker build DPSer, but he wants to do it as a CD build support. Basically, he’s trying to take a tossing flashbangs and wondering why the heavy machine gun is killing more people. He’s playing his character wrong.
There. I said it. We’re all thinking it. I’m going to call it out.
YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG!
CD is support, not DPS. Go help defend the cannons and batteries against the adds. You’re useless on the boss because all the zerkers with incidental conditions in their attacks are already using up all 25 stacks of whatever you inflict on the boss. Go do something useful to the raid. Or go play a zerker alt.
Pick one and quit whining about not being able to DPS as a support. Seriously, if you can’t add anything to the fight against the boss, go find a target you can add to. You’re still going to get rewarded for the encounter. Be useful to the event, or go away.
Technically, all the Zerkers are useless too, since they do just as much damage to a mega boss as my Soldier build does because you can’t crit them, and depending on how my traits and sigils are set up, My Ranger’s Cleric build does alot more damage to world bosses than a Zerker does because of my pet.
So you know what? You get your weak self back there and take care of those adds because I do more damage to the boss than you do! You ain’t no DPS class in this case, I am, plus I don’t die in one hit from the boss’s attacks, unlike you, so GET OUTTA HERE!
Sarcasm aside, the Condition builds do have a point. They can easily outdamage Zerker builds if built properly, and they should be able to do that damage to almost anything in the game, not just a bunch of weak enemies that no one cares about.
Well except for the 40% of the fight where you can crit…
I’d have to say most of the speculation currently being done on precursors is the gamble that they will be used again for the next gen legendaries. If they are then you will be rewarded in a HUGE way, prices will probably double or triple. However if they next gen weapons use a different recipe/precursor then the current ones will plummet horribly in price and speculators will lose 1000’s and 1000’s of gold. At this point it is a 50/50 guess.
Personally my money is on some form of ascended weapon being the base for new legendary weapons, so I am not buying the 2 precursors I potentially want legendary’s for.
I guess I don’t see the big deal… the exact same thing has been available on gw2lfg.com for the last 8 months… I have yet to wait longer then 2 minutes to find a group.
Joining a party gives more drops only because the amount of damage you have do in order to tag a mob is shared with your party.
More tags = more drops.
This is how it works. If you are in some sort of tin foil hat fantasy world and think otherwise then go test it yourself. Go to a champ train and hit the champ once, you will get no loot and no xp. Now join a full party and hit the same champ once. You will get full xp and full loot.
There is really nothing to discuss or confirm. If you don’t believe the people here then go test it in a controlled environment, that’s just how it works, end of story.
Dragon Timer should be announced in-game like scarlet invasions. Than people would go there for sure
already confirmed to be happening.
As well as synced overflows and rewards for each 25% completed.
People will show up, that’s a given.
Conditions will be viable for the chunks where players have to defend against waves of mobs, especially as they’ll have to spread out.

So what you are saying is that my set of stats that make me do bleeding, poison, burning, and torment DAMAGE PER SECOND, and have no secondary effects are somehow support and not DPS….?
Has no one ever told you what DPS stands for?
Its not that devs are infallible.
Ecto salvage rate, Fractal drop nerfs are 2 examples. Also if it was suspicious before,
Now we have too many proofs.
I d want him to say there haven t been precursor manipulation attempt after legndary rework….
I think anyone could not deny it at this point.
P.S: hoarding and placing fakes offers IS manipulations.
Buying ALL supply to relist higher is a manipulation attempt.
Remember legend at 1000+ G.
oh yeah legend at 1000+G…
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/Dusk-sold-out-1-Left/first
/thread…again
I mean come on, it isn’t even speculation, it is just outright lies at this point… it has been conclusively proven that this so called “manipulation” and “monopoly” just simply isn’t true…
We get it, you guys are poor, you can’t afford the precursor you want. Making up lies to try and punish players who are better off isn’t helping anyone.
You can only crit world bosses during their “stun” phase. For teq it is when he is hit by the laser, for jormag it is when he is stunned by the bombs/crumbling wall, etc, etc…
Otherwise you can not crit world bosses.
I had been getting every LS achievement up until SAB… spending 200+ hours in a month trying to get the most time consuming and grindy achievements in the game just wasn’t worth it, plus i’d have to multiple that by x10 if I didn’t buy their stupid P2W coin.
I’m having much more fun now just playing the actual game and ignoring the poorly implemented LS crap.
There will be lot lot lot of adds, and with no dps meter no1 will care about your dps anyway.
I think the 15 minute fail timer would disagree with you…
OP is wrong. Torch precursor dropped for me last night. Put it on the TP for 3g less then highest offer. Sold in 4 mintues.
/thread.
Currently the only way to get credit for Teq is to actually attack teq. Killing minions, bone walls and defending the cannons does not get you credit for the event, thus why everyone spams on teq and ignores the rest of the event.
If this is still the case after the changes then the event will never succeed because no one is going to do a job that gets them 0 credit.
will we get equal credit for killing minions as we do for damaging teq in this update or is it going to stay as spam teq or no rewards for you?
Oh look…. 8 months later and not a word…
Hello… devs… anyone in there???
Empyreal Fragments are a nightmare to get right now. It’s going to take me weeks to get enough and you want to time gate them!?!??!
I do think bloodstone dust needs to be toned down though. I have 20 stacks of the stuff already and that’s after making 50 bricks… I can’t even sell it to a vendor, i’ve taken to just deleting stacks at this point since I don’t want to spend more shards making it.
20 or 30 or so. I just do it when i’m bored and have nothing else to do. Hasn’t impacted my experience negatively. Still have 2 characters with full ascended jewelry, spent 100 laurels on various money making items, and now have 40 laurels to spare.
I’ve been making weekly threads about condition damage. Unfortunately the devs plan worked… ignore condition specs long enough and all those players will leave.
There just isn’t enough condition spec players left for the devs to take the time to form a response.
It appears condition spec players will be forced to man turrets and kill bone wa…. oh wait we can’t do dmg to objects either…
1.Teq will be done on large servers. There isn’t a 4 pre-event requirement like for kakra, so people will all know when to show up.
2. Rewards are not rewarded upon winning, they are rewarded for every 25% successfully taken off of teq’s hp. Therefore you won’t have to win to get rewards so people will still do event.
3. There will be a bonus reward for succeeding the event, with a chance at unique skins and the mini. Seeing as it’s the first dragon mini people will do the event until they are blue in the face to get it.
If the bosses are buffed too much they will just fall out of the rotation and be done much less often.
See Grenth (pre-nerf), balth, kakra queen, etc…
second patch of the month is always smaller to start with. These are both also content changes instead of content additions. Hopefully this means the actual living story teams have more time to polish their content.
I would be very happy if they did 1 LS patch a month and 1 update patch a month. It would give everyone more time to polish things, give a better pace to the content, make old content better, more exciting and more polished, and give people more of a chance to get out into the world instead of desperately trying to keep up with the LS.
Well they seemed to have developed the technology to change legendary weapons to account bond now. We saw it with MF items. We know they can purge from the TP and make previously unbound items account bound. It may be they are planning on making all legendarys account bound once they introduce precursor crafting or the next set of legendaries.
I hope they do this. Having legendary weapons tradeable was one of the worst mistakes in the game imo.
If you are taking damage then you need to learn to either 1. Not stand in red circles or 2. dodge. There is not a single situation in the game I have come across where I can not avoid 100% of damage using the above two points. There is no need for AOE heals, or high toughness or any of that. If you are taking damage you need to l2p, end of story.
Also you can crit on teq during his lasered phase, which makes zerker again the top. Condition specs can do good damage if they are alone in a vacuum, but when was the last time you saw the condition stack on a world boss not reach cap in .1 seconds? Condition specs do the WORST damage of any spec in existence to world bosses. It would literally be better if they weren’t there at all since it would reduce zerker geared players lag letting them do more damage.
And you do NOT get to play how you want when it is interfering with my gameplay. If you want to solo or run guild groups or whatever that is fine, but your right to play how you desire ends where it becomes harassing, personal attacking, or griefing another player, which is what will be happening if you bring a non-zerker to the new teq.
I am still awaiting a dev response on if this form of griefing will be bannable, thank you.
More likely they have just given up on the whole living story thing and are just going to random content “updates” where they just change already existing content to save even more money…
With teq requiring a huge amount of DPS and 80+ players, the detriment of players using non zerker gear is now borderline griefing. They will make the event much more difficult to complete and will not be helpful to have anywhere but on the turrets.
Since griefing is a bannable offense will we be allowed to report players for not using zerker gear at the new teq?
People worried about failure are forgetting that Anet took that into account. You get rewarded for every 25% of health you take off a teq and then a bonus reward if you kill him. So “failure” will still give a decent reward, it just won’t give you access to the special loot.
Unfortunately precursor crafting will almost certainly make the price of the majority of precursors rise.
The only expensive precursors are the 4-5 that are horribly over popular. The rest of the precursors are pretty cheap. There are half a dozen varieties that you can get for <100g right now.
So yes, Dawn, Dusk, Legend, and Spark will probably fall in price slightly, but expect all the other precursors to be much more expensive to craft then they are to buy.
Well, at least its not some goofy themed patch revolving around LS like..every..single…one.
I might log in to check out teq and some other world bosses but Im pretty sure I’ll be logging out afterward because I dont want to play a game where ascended gear exists.
It’s existed for 8 months already and yet you are still here… clearly it doesn’t bother you as much as you say it does.
