“WvW Dawn at of the Season” achievement is not unlocked yet on my achievement panel. This should have been unlocked on reset. I heard some other people have this issue as well.
PS. I didn’t change servers at anytime before and after the season started.
So with these queue times, it would be nice to be able to select another toon without re-entering the queue.
For example if I am in a 1 hour queue, I might decide to work on levelling my level 30 character and when the queue pops, I should be able to select the character I want to take into WvW. Otherwise I am sitting in LA or the Mist with my WvW build.
Or you can just allow WvW builds on the same toon (just like PvP), so I can actually use the same toon for both PvE and WvW.
Hi Anet, still waiting on developer feedback on all these queue times and skills lags/ etc that have been brought up since the Seasons started? In other words any news on removing all JPs from WvW maps on the next patch?
I agree. WvW doesn’t need the grindy PvE gear centric WoW copy grind.
Once I see more improvements in WvW loot bags and rank chests (which went from blue to green in the last patch) then we can talk ascended in WvW.
WvW is not about rank. It is about team work and points and spikes and scouts.
Someone who scouts a lot could be low ranked but might have many hours in the game.
Someone who runs in EB and flips stuff every minute could be rank 1k but never scouted.
It all depends and someone with high rank in WvW doesn’t mean that the player is a good WvW’er.
Therefore this thread is meaningless….

Apparently you don’t understand skill lag or you would know, it has nothing to do with coordinating where people are or distributed networks and latency, it is purely a CPU processing/memory issue. When a lot of people get together and start to try to use a number of abilities at the same time….there are a lot of calculations that get run, (Position coordinates for each player, who gets hit by what, who dodged what etc.) Along with all the damage calculations….hard damage, condition damage….etc. When that happens, it causes a strain on processing power of the server…at a certain point the server can no longer register new abilities because it’s overloaded….thus everyone who is connected that box/server (aka people on the map) cannot use skill abilities until the resources are freed up…nothing to do with people in different countries etc.
Edit: While yes, getting the coordinates from the client and relaying it to the server does take a minuscule amount of time..it is not the bottle neck that ends up causing the skill lag
What you are saying actually makes sense. I hope that I am wrong and this can be fixed in the future.
The skill lag in WvW is not Anet’s fault. It is a core latency problem in distributed system and latency between network nodes and the client/server side.
Be glad that there is a game that allows 300 people on one map from 2-3 different continents all a the same time. Even a normal multiplayer game with 16 players on the map has lag on a 100Mbits network and dedicated servers.
So try to enjoy the game because the skill lag on a full queued map is not going to be fixed and it out of any software developer hands.

There is no benefits to bringing PvE and WvW players together (other than guild missions).
Please don’t include LS JPs in WvW maps and please don’t include PvP finishers as LS achievement for PvE players.
Just accept the fact that the player base enjoys different aspect of the game and that is the end of it.
The WvW maps are already queued up to the throat and no need to encourage new PvE players into WvW temporarily for some JP and no contribution to the server WvW score.. If a PvE player want to focus on WvW then that is a different story and should be fine and they can follow the commander and what not.
I hope the WvW seasons continue as planned and it is a great addition to the game but please give it some thoughts before adding all these unneeded PvE stuff into it.

Skill lag and network issues will never be fixed. It is not Anet problems but it is a core issues in the network protocols. This is the sad truth.
The achievements for the JP in WvW is causing insane queues thanks due to the PvE players hopping into WvW lands for hours and trying to do the JPs. Please remove as a patch now. Thanks.
Update: After some thoughts maybe anet should make a WvW map just with JPs? So all the JP lovers go there and get their achievements? maybe do a WvW SAB world? anything but keep it out of the battlegrounds.

Regarding the upcoming WvW season’s update: Why do you force WvW players to do JPs?
Leave this in PvE and don’t bring grief to WvW players. The reason I left PvE was because of JPs in living stories and what not. At least let me enjoy WvW by focusing on WvW stuff….
If someone enjoys JPs then there is already plenty of JPs in the game that they can go and do…There is absolutely no enjoyment from JPs other than dealing with messed up camera view and falling to your death.
I rather be killed by a rabbit on WvW ground than falling from a cliff while doing a useless JP. If I want to do JP then I go and by a 2D game focused on jumping puzzles like Runner for example.

I opened 5 chests and only got some boosters. waste of 500 gems.
We all love those achievement chests and how we can follow our progress through the achievements panel and the XP/MF increase account bound.
But I feel that the game with every Living Story is tuning more into an achievement grind rather than focusing on the contents or story or real/unique rewards?
In my opinion the best contents were the Queen’s Gauntlet champs 1v1 fights, which I personally couldn’t complete due to the hard challenge or TA new path dungeon.
The fact that not everyone could complete those made it more fun and whoever manged to get the meta (Queen’s Gauntlet) deserved a unique title/achievement/reward (except there was none).
But the rest of the LS feel too accessible by anyone and too easy but way too grindy imo; and basically people walk away from it after they get the meta reward and don’t look back. Therefor the content dies after 3-4 days of release.
I am not sure what the solution is to this, but I am hoping this achievement grind player mentality can be stopped by changing the type of the contents.
Guys it’s just their last try to prevent the ship from sinking. They don’t even know what to do to make the game enjoyable. No actually the ship is already sinking, they are just trying to prevent the farmers aka nerds from leaving.
The ship that tries to carry more passengers than its intended design will sink. Anet you cannot win every single gamer’s heart by these LS and stuff. Stick to the original plan and and don;t deviate too much from the right path, otherwise you and the passengers will pay the price.

I am expecting a response from Anet on why they decided on this restriction, considering SAB world 1 came back last month. Or expecting a patch to fix it and unlock last year contents for us new players or whoever didn’t finish last year.
So basically if you don’t play GW2 from the release date, you can never catch up in contents and achievement points?
How do you expect new players reacting to this?

Here is my 2 cents:
- Don’t make this game into a grind fest and armor/weapon centric. The introduction of ascended weapons and armors (soon I am assuming) and then legendary armor set (I predict) shouldn’t happen. Keep this a fun MMO and don’t try to keep players by adding grind work. If someone likes grind and feels that there is no challenge then they will leave one day no matter what….you will only hurt the GW2 core player base.
- The living story grind. Again the living story adds nothing to the core game. It is basically an achievement grind fest for players and dies soon.
The core improvements/development should go to dungeons, world events, WvW, guild system. As an example the new TA dungeon is a perfect example of content. keep it up.
I think I’ll pass. I have seen his replies of “we are considering changes but not ETA” too many times. No need to hear them again.

having a dungeon as Living Story with an actual story is what I call good content.
maybe with some new dungeons hardmode coming soon, you will need to change traits for every boss.
This is not a difficult dungeon if you are the kind of player that likes dungeons and has a solid group of friends or a guild to run it with.

I finished it solo on my lvl 10 toon with only the starting lvl 1 gear.
If you can’t fight the trolls, some must join them…..
With that said, boss week has achievements like fetch 10 of x in 3 different maps, with no hint whatsoever, not exactly welcome content in my book.
but not required for Meta. you could just to the daily and get it.
Thank you for making the meta achievement less grindy for the last couple of LS (not SAB).
Also it is great that we can get the achievements by not having to go all over the map and fetch this and kill that.
I personally welcome this kind of LS content (dragon week/ TA dungeon path) as a doable 2 week temp content and would love to see more.
By the way. Amazing work on the new TA dungeon path.
In the future we’ll probably get a new update where we can save our builds. it’ll be 1600 gems though. Get ready.

I agree with the OP but this issue seems to be 50%/50% between the community.
50% of players who live in their parents basement who like these updates because they have nothing else to do.
50% of players with a real life and school/mortgage/family and they don’t have 16 hours a day to play and grind contents.
So at this state of the game, the flood of LS temp weekly contents will continue which is also helps sales in gems store.
My solution to this problem was to finally come in peace with the game and treat it no more than any other game and understand the fact that I cannot keep up with the stuff.
GW2 is still a special game to me and I enjoy every minute playing it since I have put the LS stuff to rest and don’t even bother looking at the LS achievement panel.
Does it increase the rewards and XP? Otherwise what is the point?
