I’m sorry but this here is pure unadulterated nonsense. I duel a lot and I can tell you outright that intervention in 1 v1 is not an excuse for an easy bag ever. If bags was what I cared for I’d be in EoTM or Silver waste.
My conscience is what matters. On one side I don’t want to interrupt a duel, on the other I don’t want to let my team down. This is a server game therefore the team is more legitimate than the duel. A lone player can cap anything is what matters. Killing him equal removing that threat. Very basic logic.
Beside, if it annoys ppl that much to get interrupted when they duel and they duel in super busy places they only have themselves to blame (like I blame myself when I do).
I am sorry but if you lost your camp, sentry or whatever is because you are in the wrong place. If they are that important, should be there defending it instead of ganking a lone player that is fighting your teammate.
As Jayne said (miss you btw from old ET days!) most tend to forget that those duelers are usually roamers and scouts, the ones that does the thankless jobs that many don’t want to do. We (roamers, duelers) are the ones that will kill the other servers roamers and indirectly provides to the server the PPT that you mention so much.
On a side note, if you interrupt my duel, fine. However, I do have a code myself that, besides some special occasions, I will not outnumber a fight. So I will slowly back away and if you want that kill so much, hope you are good enough to take the other dueler.
After the interruption, will stop doing the roaming on that map, changing for another. If it is someone from the other server being a kitten, will get another 4 friends and we will take one of the southern camps, sw mostly likely and we will bunker down there, making the server waste time and resources on us to provide some fights. Can even get as far as build a golem or treb to hit Bay to make even more fuss. We had done that in the past and have no qualms in do it again since it is way too much fun to keep engaging 10-12 players rushing to the camp and dying in endless waves for 30 minutes or more until they actually call the EB zerg to kill you. Job done when they need to shift forces.
There were some false flags in the past, not sure if was fixed or not, which could be your case if things are as you said:
It jumped from 12 to 130 at that spot, but 130 isn’t that bad either. Nothing really shows an issue. Worst case, hop 7 is the problem, since everything after it isn’t too far off from the 130 that occurs.
Actually no, that’s quite the standard for my country. In game I get a ping from 170 to 190, which is fine. However above 200 starts to get troublesome.
The problem isn’t that but the lack of response on some of anet’s IP. Will notice some have total loss of package.
(edited by azyume.6321)
Since latest patch I have been experiencing latency issues ingame, ping above 200 and spiking to 1000, even by setting a port or an alternative specified IP like the following:
194.25.94.170:80
174.35.71.9:80
151.249.90.199:80
93.188.135.37:80
62.154.232.194:80
Some of these IP gives 0 response like the 93.188.135.37:80 making impossible to run the game client.
I’ve done a pathping to the IP was connected to the game when started to have problems a couple of hours ago and this is what I got:

No it is different. To make it simple to visualize what happens will be similar to this:
You character give a small step forward then it freezes in a position like will happen to you if gets immobilized mid air or get stuck while building siege in wvw as used to happen before the fix. Need to use a movement key twice, a skill or an emote to break it, otherwise will stay stuck there for a long time.
Old bug, has been happening to me at least for an year now. I noticed is easier to replicate when you try to use the movement keys wasd while holding the right button of the mouse, some times needs add a 3rd key like ctrl.
Can’t really say what’s the cause of it, only that can be a death sentence sometimes, specially when doing a JP. Lost count of how many times failed a jump or died due to the character freeze right before the jump.
I don’t mind about profession nor build and won’t mind at all if the player fore warns that is trying a different build, which might cause some deaths, or is the first time running the content.
Certainly will appreciate if they join the chat and keep the chill atmosphere during the run. However isn’t obligatory of course.
The only two things I don’t tolerate at all are:
*Rudeness, specially out of nowhere and nonsense;
*Players that joins then starts to bark orders about stacking, DPS, builds and complains a lot. My friends and I don’t like stacking and we usually make it known for the party so it is extra annoying when those people starts with that tirade trying to take over the party and impose as leaders.
Actually no, don’t send the video footage to that email because, in this case, they won’t do anything about it.
You guys have better chances by reporting the player in game and then sending the info and link to the video to GM ProHeals.

If play during NA prime time and only roams, my advise is to go to tier 4. Ehmry Bay and Henge of Denravi usually have plenty of roamers around.

Soon on September 3rd will mark exactly 2 years since Super Adventure Box: Back to School was released. Just as well, on September 30th will mark 2 years since SAB was locked, making it inaccessible.
My Infinite Continue Coin has been dusting in the bank for all this time. How much longer it is acceptable to us wait to use an item sold on the gemstore which is now locked away and, by info from dev, will keep with that status for an unknown period?
Would be nice if this case was finally addressed by Anet.
I am sure none of us would be complaining about the infinite continue coin if was tagged as temporary use only during the season 2: Back to School, which wasn’t the case.
IMO one of the factors that is pumping condition up is that the cleanse system is working differently than before. It would be nice if it is reviewed to give priority to cleanse the most powerful conditions first like burning and bleeding as well as the one with most stacks.
It simply baffles me when have 3 conditions on my character, something like 8 stacks of bleed, 2 stacks of poison and cripple and the condition cleanse removes cripple. Because of that, need to waste a second cleanse to remove that bleed which probably have a higher stack over the time wasted.
Just a quick screenshot from tequatl a couple days ago on my burn engi. Keep in mind on teq i’m downscaled, not at max level, so this would be a lot more. i get some unreal numbers in silverwastes on the final even bosses.
You do know the flamethrower #1 is accumulative, right? It will keep adding up until is interrupted. Same thing with mesmer greatsword #1. If you sit there auto attacking can easily get more than 200.000 from accumulated damage overall.
wow, azyume u have to stop lying first, do u have account on tier2? or r u employee of anet?
I have alt accounts on tier2 n tier3 servers n have played NA time n OCX n Late Seatime, tier2 was almost dead after most of gvg guilds left
I only can find pro ppters in whole time, and even though there r some fights, Fa n SoS blobs get rekt in only 1push(i have seen so many times n have some video about that)
Their fighting skill is below average so farming bags by killing easy guys become so boring
I dont understand why tier2 servers r still full n really wanna know the algorithm for managing server statue
i think Anet(actually staff about server statue) has no brain n keep ruining this game
Yes I have an account on tier 2. Happy? Yes, I know how every time zone looks like. Happy?
Is it dead? No, it is not. So stop with your lies. because now you went from “dead” to “there are people but skill is below average”. Make up your mind about what you are really trying to claim.
I was like OP, wondering why I had a choice of 1 PvE, 1 PvP and 1 WvW. And the next day, I had the forums open to spew my wrath, when I opened my client to make a screenshot. And found out I had 3 of each then :p
Thanks for the answer. I guess it is a progress then compared to before, however still incompatible. I cannot fathom why give those choices for a new account only.
Hopefully they will change it once again by eliminating it completely or making more friendly.
Seriously, people have to stop spreading lies that t2 and below are dead servers. Serious what the kitten?
So instead of being blobbed down by YB, now with the change of SoS from full, which have great potential for recruitment and a server to fight against, better go to JQ and add to their already greatest coverage and blob the other servers down?
System is working fine if it is preventing this sort of thing from happening anymore.
They changed the daily limitation to the first day only?
I remember took my alt account way longer than that to get rid of that non sense daily (1 pve, 1 pvp and 1 wvw), I think my first character was level 20-ish when it finally changed.
Most of the times I’d skip the daily because, being experienced, my lvl 18 ele could take a sentry down or a vet creature, if no opposition showed up, but would take so long to do it that wasn’t worth it at all. On other occasions, take a keep? Yeah not happening unless you join a good zerg.
If they are going to force daily on each game mode for new accounts, they could at least pick an easy daily for WvW, like kill a yak or a sentry, but no, it is random and sometimes you will see yourself stuck with kill invaders, cap a tower or a keep.
The population is still there, some come and others go. Now and then servers dwindle a bit in population because of n motives and then slowly returns. NSP is a stable ppt server but some will take breaks if they can’t accomplish that. HoD suffers from fairweathers from both natives and the DB players that got absorbed. The raise of CD was very recent, give enough time and the players will return.
Tier 4 is not empty. People have to stop labeling what they don’t know about it. If by empty means no server that can queue 4 maps 24/7, then yes, every single server is empty then because not even T1 can pull that.
HoD and NSP are similar to population compared to SBI before the mass migration of guilds, tier 4 was a tier 3 light version having 2 tier 3.5 servers and one tier 4 server. So if people says tier 4 is empty might as well say that tier 3 was empty a month or so ago.
About roaming, it is a dying mode. It has been for a long time now, no matter to which tier you go, roamers are becoming more and more scarce as times goes by. I can say roaming and specially solo roaming has been dead for, at least, 7 months on tier 3. The few that are out there got tired of being ran over by guilds with 10 or more and had to group up to be able to improve overall game play. However with the move of the guilds to tier 3 surely there was an increase of roamers compared to before. The quality? Could be better but at least is something and I see as a positive aspect.
Tested the sigil of fire against an icebrood hunter in Frostgorge with my warrior wielding berserker ascended greatsword with 3933 power: flame blast hit for 993.
Actually, ET have an oceanic guild, TAL. So if you are online during aprox 9pm to 1am aus timezone, will mostly like find their crew raiding.
I’d like a personal journal at the very least. It would be an improvement to quality of life if you can add some small references of wp’s, events, tasks, things to check, comments and etc. instead of trying to rely on memory alone or some other organizer outside the game.
The personal waypoint sure helps a lot but, at least for me, still isn’t enough. I’d like to add and keep more info with access in game.
In fact seems people are mistaking a trading post with an auction house. You are not bidding a product, you are placing an order. Those are completely different from one another.
To simply explain, even tho many have tried to so far, you are simply using a post (house) as a intermediary to buy or sell items. When you place an order, you are alerting the sellers that you are interested in buying that specific item for a certain price. If the price is right, they will sell it to you. The order will stay there as long as the buyer allows if no interest is picked by the sellers. You might want to revalue if your price is too low or if the demand for the item is higher than before, raising the current exchange price on it.
I am a casual TP user and 1 copper uppercut don’t render my buying order useless. It is those that raise 10 silvers, 1 gold, 10 gold that does it, making me take a moment to check the market, the supply and demand and the price fluctuation over the week or so and decide if need to increase the amount of gold I am willing to pay for such item in agreement with the market .
Does it take a bit longer to get the items I tagged when other buyer makes an offer with 1 copper or 1 silver higher? Some times, yes, but usually am able to buy the items nonetheless. I never waited more than a couple of days, however I give myself a time limit of 2 weeks for a buy order and 2 months to sell. The only times I had to cancel my order was when the item price spiked over 10 silver or more and due to supply and demand and other players acknowledging the recipe, it didn’t went down for several weeks or even months.
According to gw2score, CD successfully spent 10.8% of the score on NSP border and 10.9% on Ebay border. There is no favoritism according to the score alone. However that doesn’t show how much time CD actually spent on each border, only the successful flips.
If one will look to the chart alone, will deduce the score of 2nd and 3rd is determined exactly by those servers than by the 1st. Ebay and NSP spend way too much time fighting each other instead of CD, crippling their own score.
If Anet won’t give some sort of incentive to the tier 8 servers, honestly, the only advice I can give is:
Play for fun, whatever that is.
Communicate between yourselves, even if think there is no one else in the map, by linking objectives and telling beforehand what will do;
Encourage players to get on TS, from time to time announce the server website and the TS address; keep the communication between roamers and guilds, both are essential to the community (despite some disagree with this but if both are treated equally with respect there are good chances the roamers will go out to hunt the opposing players roaming and flipping the camps, even towers, and the guilds going for fights and/or objectives), a tag isn’t needed if there is proper communication;
Same if a tag is on, use both TS and map to announce where they are going and urge players to join on voice chat;
Try to keep the morale up, suiciding your zerg countless times against massive numbers won’t achieve anything besides losing your own numbers. Pick the fights where the odds aren’t that bad and, can as well, offer training for those players that are willing to learn more and get better on fights or siege if that’s what one like and have proper gear and builds.
SF spent more time on the bottom than ET, I can sympathize with your frustration.
Not even close. SF spent a grand total of 16 weeks on the bottom while ET have a score of 56 weeks.
Actually, unless Anet changed their statement in the last couple of months, it was said the following during the livestream:
“The Desert Borderlands Map will be replacing the old Borderlands map (Alpine Borderlands) when the expansion releases and we might reintroduce the old map in a rotation or tournament.”
If they didn’t officially announced the rotation of the maps, then one thing we know, only Desert Borderland and the Eternal Battlegrounds will be available.
Basilisk Venom is still commonly used. Jump unranked matches or wvw and will see plenty. Not sure about PvE tho.
If the thief is very observant, will know exactly when use basilisk instead of blowing it away in the first attack, specially when said target already spotted you. With patience, basilisk can be very good and determinant to win. 1 second of petrification is enough to a thief busrt down a target unless they are very tanky or to buy time to put some distance between them/heal.
No, reflection is balanced the way it is. Don’t need a nerf nor a buff.
You want the game to change because want to keep hitting from distance and don’t want to be penalized for that. If didn’t noticed, that’s the balance for ranged attacks, that’s the counter. Utilities have cooldown and if one wants, will have to give up on a trait to make it last longer, the ranged attacks doesn’t have a cooldown, talking about auto-attack.
There are plenty of stuff it can be done when see the reflects are up: switch target, go melee, fall back and hold the attacks, use utilities in the meanwhile like traps.
On the retaliation subject, why someone who is using a projectile gets an immunity, a free pass from it, but a melee has to suffer it? If you want to rapid fire for 11k from 1500 range and don’t want to take caution, you deserve to suffer the retaliation back. It is a good counter against someone who can almost “one shot” you from long distance. One can argue that retaliation could be toned down, however, to give privileges to some professions? Definitely no.
If you want to pew pew from 1500 units a target that have retaliation up, ask a necro or mesmer to corrupt or strip their boon.
Or you can just go to LA and cross any of the WvW portals. The shortcut is only available at level 31, but the game modes (wvw and pvp) are unlocked.
So many players asked Anet for years for a that failsafe tool to avoid to delete important stuff, which the developers finally conceded and you come here and call people selfish when you want to disable it for your own experience? A bit ironic I’d say.
This thread is a fail when you come stomping high demanding stuff and calling others selfish because lack of different vision from you. Next time try to add a positive criticism and ways to improve the quality of life as BeckaPL did with their post.
Good luck.

For science!
I’ve had done personal story after reading this thread, chose the Shield of the Moon background and got the key as normally should at the end of arc The Heart of Nightmare at level 10.
If you are really sure didn’t got any key upon completing it, get in contact with CS team, as mentioned before. I can be wrong but if you have the approximate date and hour, should make things easier to track down.
I expect to see lots of carrion and dire sets around.
My full knight guardian which before could dance around for minutes and even tie a fight against 2 guardians now can die in less than 1 minute due to the burning spike and could barely scratch them since would do a full heal. Surely isn’t being 2 hit but guardians can melt from condition just as fast.
On a side note, manage to find a condition trapper ranger. Nerf burning, Anet. Being hit by 6500 from burning alone isn’t fun and that was only one attack, the others burning attacks were all as high as 2400 not to mention on all the other kitten conditions.

I am a veteran, price doesn’t bother me at all nor the lack of character slot, even though can’t deny that would be a good incentive, however there are 2 things which made decide to wait until release date:
1) Not even a pre-order but pre-purchase of a product that doesn’t even have a release date.
I repudiate such practice of pre-ordering and pre-purchasing games that aren’t even on beta state yet nor have a release date at sight. Past have taught us that if you inject enough money on such projects, they will be delivered incomplete as we can take some as examples like Aliens: Colonial Marines, Assassins Creed: Unit, Dragon Age: Inquisition
2) Not enough information about content has been released so far.
I am very picky with my games, I don’t throw money out of the window, even if it is a franchise I am a fan and have been supporting so far. I’d like to know exactly what am paying for and if that’s what am looking forward for a game. If I dislike or think isn’t enough what an expansion or DLC has to offer, I simply don’t buy it. As it is, I can’t make a decision based on so little that has been out about HoT so far.
Because of those two motives, I will wait to buy HoT. If I deem it worth later on, will buy it, if doesn’t satisfies me, as everything in life, time to move on.
Just a heads up, it isn’t happening only in WvW anymore. I went to Sparkfly today around 9 p.m. server time and the same bugs were happening there, lots of people reporting in map chat.
The list of complaints: aquatic weapons being wield in land, massive lag spikes, no skill response, creatures teleporting, sudden deaths to no apparent reason, interact key (F) not responding and at some point someone related they started a combat against kraits, their screen froze for a few seconds then all kraits were dead when it normalized; disconnects from instance then taking twice the time to load the map.
Funny thing is that I was in WvW before went to Sparkfly and didn’t experienced nothing of that.. and there died while jumping on a rock.
Honestly, from personal experience, a large mixed mode guild can’t offer you the same thing a small focused guild can. Surely the large guild is good if want to be casual about it, jump here and there now and then without any commitment but won’t work out if you want to be a bit more serious.
I’ve been in a large guild, more than 300 members with 80-ish online daily and yet they could barely form a group of 10 to raid once per week and hardly form 1 full pvp party and when that happened, was usually the same players every time. It was pretty much impossible to work on anything outside PvE domain.
For motives as cited above, I like the idea of segregating guilds by game modes, as well as having one small pvx guild for when just want to chill, and because of that, the new chat feature will be good and handy.
Having more than one guild doesn’t automatically qualifies players as disloyal. Sometimes the guild don’t supply what you need at the time be that PvP, PvE, WvW or/and RP (or even people online, really) and other times you just want a really closed guild where you are more comfortable.
I am looking forward for the new chat options and, in my case, think will help tighten up the friendship ties between guilds, as well as will be a great service for those huge guilds with more than 1000 members.
The heart definitely is different from before, perhaps has been 4 or 5 months since was last there.
The numbers of rats are greatly increased no doubt, however they still are worth of like 1 or 2% of the progress bar. For someone who has been mapping for a long time, even if takes 2 minutes to complete the heart task, can feel like an eternity if stay on stomping only rats, the crows could speed up the process.
Nonetheless the progress will go faster if rez the priority healers and kill the ridgeback skales and stomp the rats while waiting for the respawn.
Both, mappers and farmers, can work on their personal goals now with the fix without interfering on each other’s business (I mean there is a chance to kill some crows when killing the skale if not careful but the person doing the event will be gone in a couple of mintues). If it is toxic nowadays, it is due to people being impatient or lashing or overreacting or being deliberately a griever.
it is probably the same bug happening on WvW. You get the revealed debuff after 2 seconds on stealth, for any class as far I know.
Edit: Ah, as was pointed the links out by Talyn.
Why shouldn’t a skill that is being channeled before the thief goes into stealth not hit? It is pretty fair considering the amount of stealth available. Stealth shouldn’t be considered as the “safety button”.
I’d accept the removal of channeled skills hit on stealth if and only the skill is actually fixed to behave as a stealth and not invisibility. That means, if you get hit, gets revealed; if you miss your attack for some reason, also gets revealed.
Can someone please explain the point of finishers, in general?
I don’t think I get it…?
I understand what they do – you get a prompt, hit F and they “finish” people.
I just don’t really get the point in bothering doing it.
If it is WvW, the server gets 1 point (PPT) per bloodlust by stomping and get nothing if hit the downed to death.
Finishers can be fun in a way. When my server got paired with YB a while ago, I used my Yak’s finisher and would love to have the tittle Yak Slapper to go with it just for giggles.
If the focus is pvp for now, I’d say create both professions. Try out necro first and see how you feel, if like, have potential for you then give the ele a try.
Guild Wars 2 is different in a lot of aspect from other games and pvp isn’t an exception. There is no advantage, no gear, nothing that will give an edge for few players. Everyone and every profession have access to the same skills, gear and stats. What differentiates here is player experience, build synergy, fast response to help teammates as well as coordination.
The game won’t show you the pvp option until reach a certain level, however there is another way to do it. Ask for directions on map chat of how to go to Lion’s Arch. From there, go to the south part of the map named Fort Mariner, can ask for directions for the portal of the mists, enter the portal named Heart of the Mists. It will take you to the PvP lobby, there is a guy there that gives you the ropes, tutorial. Open the PvP panel and select, on the left tab on the window, Game Browser and pick a public server to join.
Ah, by the way, use the Trading Post (TP) to buy the weapons for your characters, they will only have access to the ones that are on their inventory. So if you want to try all, make sure to buy axe, scepter, dagger, focus, warhorn and staff for the necro . For the ele: scepter, focus, dagger and staff.
Elementalist is very fun to play. I enjoyed every bit of the leveling experience and love my two lvl 80’s. However, second to engineer, elementalist demands you to acknowledge deeply the profession mechanisms. It isn’t something that can be done in a day or couple of days. Takes time, trial and error and experience. If you don’t mind the occasional (or several) wipe and enjoy a challenge to learn one of the most complexes profession of Guild Wars 2, with the best DPS as well as good support, with several combos, go for it.
The necromancer is more forgiving, better for a new players, you will have higher survivability, low paced, giving more time to observe and try to understand the fight mechanics and class.
Perhaps a good way to decide is to ask yourself what want to do when reach level 80 (max lvl). PvE, WvW? Would want more of a role of support or DPS?
Or, something silly to think, in WvW, would you rather play with elements and offer water to your thirst teammates and burn your enemies down (ele) or would you rather play with the dark and melt the enemy zergs with wells (necro)? :P

This is picture taken when I was looking for way to get to kinda difficult vista in Dredgehaunt Cliffs. As you can see, under me there is wooden platform and I’m standing on egde of the fence with NOTHING in front of me.
For some reason I can’t jump down and continue my way to vista. I had to travel all over the other side, climb up in circles just to realize I have to jump on the SAME way just from other place.
That was actually a “fix” to a problem with players jumping down from the path, like you are trying, to reach the vista on the other side, instead of running the content as supposed to (go up, kill the vet and pull the chain to open the gate).
I found one very stupid example in Divinity’s Reach on my banker toon.
Take a look at screenshot below:

Take a look where you are in the mini map, you are trying to jump on an elevation that could lead you to the Royal Terrace, which is a paid content. I don’t think it is that unreasonable from Anet to secure the area from any kind of exploit. They could had spent more time improving the block, invisible wall, with more aesthetic design yes, but isn’t that bad in this case since players shouldn’t be trying to gain access to that area with other methods.
Been terrible today, lag spikes on pvp as well while running Tequalt besides the “normal” wvw lag. It is unplayable as it is right now.
Living far from the server doesn’t help as well as having a not so optimal connection, however I noticed hardly happens that with other games, this many spikes I mean. When I start to have problem in game, I check the forums and also takes an extra few seconds to load while other webpages works normally.
Half of the times I get disconnected, this is the error that shows up:
The game client was unable to connect to the log-in server. Please restart your client and try again. If the problem persists, contact Customer Support for assistance at http://support.guildwars2.com. (Code=58:11:5:535:101)
The other half is the error cited before: (Code=7:11:3:191:101)
What is the difference between both codes? Is one of them pointing to a problem on the costumer’s end?
I use the -clientport 443 on the line of command of the client and it helped a little back then when started to use it. However, now doesn’t seem to be helping at all.
If the ping in game is reliable it is getting higher constantly when a certain amount of people are around even if standing still and during combat gets higher as well. Usually goes from 190 to 390-400 then spikes to 790, 1380 and even got a 3190 once.
This is my WvW duo roaming build when am feeling adventurous:
It is a very odd power/condi build with no traits for utilities. Because of that I only keep Lightning Reflexes as a permanent, the others I switch on the go, depending on which classes will fight.
Despite the trait Empathic Bond and Healing Spring, the build is still weak against condition. The catch is to try to always be the first striker while the players are unaware of their surrounding and then time and land properly the cc’s to have a chance against condition.
I found this build great for roaming with a balanced hammer/gs shout heal warrior using rune of the trooper. The warrior supports by providing heal, condition cleanse and AoE heal by blasting the Healing Spring and cc’ing, giving me room to dps the targets down.
Zzz double teaming? Really want to go with that?
SBI goes to where fight is. Simple as that and if some commander decide to go for retaliation for DB spending so much time on SBI border that’s forbidden?
You should learn to read a chart first before starting with crappy non sense conspiracy.

Well – here’s a thing. My ping is reported at 0 right now – in fact, since I joined this map. That makes me not trust that number very much! I’ll have to look into that. (Just remembered to screenshot it because no one at work tomorrow will believe it!)
Haven’t went to wvw much since the patch, have seen the zero ping before, but I can say for sure that almost every time I go to the heart of the mists for the first time with a character, I get a 0 ping. My screen stays static for a few seconds (3 to 5) and then all the commands that were queued are triggered at the same time: my character teleports to some location and skills x/y are casted.
When others, and will include myself as well, stated it is confusing is because actually Ebay is in a good tier which is very close in terms of balance. Also, unless the server had an implosion since the last time we got matched up, it has a good amount of players as well as roamers and a couple of havoc guilds. Perhaps you should check their website and contact players and guilds there for a more detailed info: http://www.ehmry.com
Henge of Denravi have a good amount of roamers, as does Crystal Desert but bit less in numbers. Isle of Janthir will drop a tier soon and they are a very fun server to fight against, good roamers and guilds.
The fact Ehmry Bay is on par with Crystal Desert and Henge of Denravi doesn’t have a huge gap on the lead, shows a bit of balance, in terms of score, and that Ebay do have players out there fighting.
Now for “even” fights “all the time” that will be tier 1 and 2, which as said before, have queues. If you decide for a tier 2 server, I’d suggest SoS, however, don’t go to FA. The queue’s are terrible there.
Tier 3 is unbalanced right now, maybe in a few months will stabilize and seems like 2 servers will rotate between tiers 3 and 4: SBI and DH and probably a 3rd: NSP if they get a bit more of rating.
Duels usually are from impromptu nature, you can’t control exactly when and how will happen, unless it was discussed and scheduled before. Hard to tell players to stay away from certain areas, when more often than not you have to go to those areas to find a fight.
I am a duo or solo roamer and will duel and fight groups up to 3, as in 3v1. If I am dueling and someone from the server jumps in even after I politely inform it is a duel, I will back off, disengage and watch said person fight. Despite fighting outnumbered, I don’t like to be the one outmanning the fights and so, if the person that interrupted the duel want that kill so much, they will have to work for it. It is a 1v1, both have chances to win, mostly the one that interrupted since won’t have any skills on cooldown, so I’d say it is a “fair” fight. However if a second or third from the other server joins the fight, I will as well to turn a bit the odds.
For those who thinks duelers are doing a disservice for the server because they are fighting, I have to say, in most cases, that’s wrong statement. Many duelers are roamers and if we don’t find fights, usually go flip objectives to draw attention. I’ve solo’ed towers and even a keep before to get a few red guys to chase and give me fights. With that being said, just think that as long as there is a fight, duelers are happy there, including the ones from the opposing server, and won’t be roaming around flipping camps and towers.
To finish, no, I don’t play for PPT. I have done that before in the past and only got burned out to the point that needed to step away from WvW for a couple of months. Since then, I’ve decided to play for my own fun and as long as am doing that am happy and helping my server in my own way. However, have to say that the majority of my server have the same mind set, some still play for PPT yes, but most just want to fight (their definition of fun) and share a laugh.
Try contacting the support, it is worth a chance.
I had a friend who picked the wrong breather during Wintersday event and support was able to help, switching from medium to light if am not mistaken.
Any slight movement can trigger the broken immobilization, even while fighting on certain terrains. Happened to me twice while fighting, in different times and occasions, shatter mesmers. Guess can predict how it ended: immo mid air, can’t do anything, mesmer notice that and shatter…
I will add my voice here, please fix immobilization, to prevent the mid air and revert back to the time when it didn’t stacked. Get stuck for 2 full minutes in a chain of immobilization isn’t fun.
This is the build i use: a heal build because that is what Guardian class is

I do not have very high gear+accessories but i am almost there like: ascended.
I would like to try your meditation build and your advice
That build is odd and outdated. No wonder you have trouble.
Now this is my own version of the meditation: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVEQNAR7dlsApaodDxcI8DRRDRljNY/eHXXe9BkABAA-TFCFABI8AAUS5HWKBB4gAIwFAIR1faZ/hEOCAkBQfMA-w
I’ve modified the meditation build to adapt to my play style. Optimal? Surely not. Part of the meta? Never would be. I have fun playing with it? Most definitely. Do I have a trouble with rangers? No.
Current meta meditation build for PvP: http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Guardian_-_Meditation_Hammer
Now try out yours. Find something you have fun, suites your play style and yet won’t be stomped by every profession.
