The main problem of EotM is not the map itself, it’s its cross-server population and score meaninglessness.
If EotM replaced EB for a week, it’d be a different story. Same will go for this new map: if it gets into the regular matchup, counts for score, and is played with your server mates against the two other servers of the week, it’ll be fine. If it goes megaserver and points don’t count, then it’ll be another karma train.
Save the Bell Choir activity!
Yes, quite often actually. For example “nerf spirits” and “nerf pets” were first loudly promoted by PvPers before they were adopted.

I only use Longbow 4 on a mob if some other player is or is about to engage it in melee combat. Then i switch to wolf to fear it away.

I did not know ranger was not risk class until i experience it. You are correct with thief and warrior
I’m looking forward to improving my skills after watching your videos of unedited no-risk total domination in ranked PvP matches. When can you post them?

don´t worry, as soon as the content is available, you will have enough people in here declaring how this boss is totally unbeatable, though it is not hard, of cause, it just haves some unfair/gimmicky/annyoing mechanic :P
And a month later it will be part of the regular gw2timer rotation and never fail again.

So, how about a Weaselpecker?
Save the Bell Choir activity!
That’s just the latest byproduct of the whole LS “concept”. The main thing here is that those “other games” (GW1 included) expansions unlock all the gated content for you even if you purchase them later. For late GW2 players, HoT will only unlock some static content and the right to purchase previous LS episodes. Paying to be allowed to pay for content in a way…

Throw some of it out…?
If all the avenues that generate this for you remain open, there’s no reason to hold onto so much of that stuff.
Apart from the fact that a new usage can magically appear into the game that requires vast quantities of it? See Silk before Ascended crafting was introduced for a precedent.

1. Piercing Arrow + Quick Draw:
Ok, let’s face it, these 2 traits really have no reason to waste 2 MASTER traits just to get the function that every other classes have. Warrior gets both -CD AND piercing with one ADAPT TRAIT, yet ranger needs TWO MASTERS? How does that make any sense?
Engineer’s rifle only has -CD because rifle pierces on default. Mesmer’s GS -CD gives bonus stat, and also has piercing on default. Thief only has piercing trait because their weapon skills have no CD, thus -CD is meaningless. Ele scepter pierces on default too.
Why is Ranger the only class that need to sacrifice so much just to do the same thing every other classes got it for granted?Solution: Merge these traits and put it in Skirmishing master trait, just like Warrior.
(If you really can’t merge the trait because it may be OP, at least move piercing Arrow to Skirmishing adapt. There’s not a single trait really useful to Power ranger in Skirmishing adapt, which is super awkward)You just made my 6×6xx LB/GS WvW build cry. At the moment, 6 points in MM get you Piercing Arrows and Eagle Eye. I’d hate to have to spend 8 points for the same result when i don’t care about Quick Draw.
Hey sir, you actually have 14 trait points to allocate instead of 12.
You can go for 4/4/6/0/0, keeping the same function while having way better stats and an additional -20% CD on bows.
Yes, 14 points, hence 6×6xx rather than 60600, that’s 12 points required for the core traits (Piercing, Eagle Eye, Empathic Bond/Bark Skin), 3 traits to pick (1 in MM, 2 in WS), and 2 free points to throw in any other line for variety. I’d rather keep spending 6 points in Marksmanship for the longbow than 8 points across Marksmanship and Skirmishing. As for the -20%, well, it’d be nice, but them’s the breaks. Quickdraw’s current location means that if you pick every single extra damage LB trait (piercing, eagle eye, quickdraw), you’ve only got 4 points left and have to miss out on GM survival traits, which is a sensible compromise. Same as the dilemma of picking only 2 from Piercing, Eagle Eye and Read the Wind.
Overall, with some particular exceptions like Honed Axes, i can’t say i’m too unhappy about our trait lines. Skirmishing is a bit awkward, but in fact, it works rather well as the trap line as putting them anywhere else would compromise a lot of nice line combinations.
Save the Bell Choir activity!
And yet, no one even realized that we have a master trait that boosts Ferocity on a pure Condition based weapon. (yep, I’m talking about Honed Axes)
Path of Scars says hello.
Edit: ugh, forgot it required MH axe, silly me… This one seriously need addressing indeed…

Remove WvW maps from the Map Completion requirement
It is IMPOSSIBLE to get this done unless you’re willing to spend a month of WvW spamming and run with the zerg everywhere until you eventually have all the things you need.
See:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/I-give-up-No-Map-Completion
Same statement as you about it being IMPOSSIBLE. 24h later, he’s only got one borderlands left to do.

Who complained about Stability being OP please stand up and be counted.
Not necessarily OP, but in wvw it has been the single most powerful boon since launch and it’s not necessarily a bad thing to tone it down.
I enjoy my melee train as much as my roaming or backline zerging, and i think that change will probably make things interesting over the couple months it’ll take for everyone to adjust.

I know, you’ll even find my suggestions on the first page.
This is still a rather good example of why the wvw part of map completion isn’t the horrible impossible task it is often being painted as on these forums (though mapping the Borderlands 3 times is a bit tedious).

Wow, I can’t believe that you manage to survive with axe+torch/SB and no panic utility (LR, SoS). On a trap build, i need sword+dagger to compensate for the missing utilities myself, and that’s in wvw with the stealth from the Trapper runes.
In WvW I run axe/torch/LB believe it or not with 3 traps + trapper runes. Most cases I’ll get away and make them chase me half way across the map. I think SB would be better and probably the sigils I use (incapacitation I don’t think is working much with my low crit).
Nice vid, ty for sharing.
Lol, i’d die a horrible death with that setup too. When running away, I often need S3/D4 to buy some time and S2 to create the gap.

Save the Bell Choir activity!
My ranger is the only of my 9 characters that has map completion. Honestly, if you can get past the “i don’t want to wvw” bit, it’s not that hard.
To move around, grab a greatsword and trait it for lower cooldown. GS3 will speed you up a lot, and GS4 will help you get away from pew pew. Equip Signet of the Hunt if you’re not running Traveller runes. On swap, either go longbow for LB3 stealth, or sword/warhorn for some additional mobility with S2 leaps and WH5 swiftness. Get a siamoth (i think) pet and trait faster F2 to get lots of feathers, giving you that bit more stealth to disengage. Eventually, craft yourself 6 Superior runes of the Trapper and run traps for even more stealth and speed.
If that still doesn’t work, put your alarm clock at 4AM, the maps should be emptier.
Finally, if you’re having trouble, make sure you focus on doing the third of each map that your server is on for the week before doing anything more. Your server will swap to the other colours eventually, giving you much easier access to the other thirds. The exception is Stonemist: try and do it as soon as your server owns it.
And if everything fails, buy enough gems to transfer to a winning server and follow their zerg around. Considering the total cost of a legendary, a few more hundred golds for gems won’t make a significant difference.

Despite some flaws in the skills design, underwater areas are a great addition to the game with some beautiful areas. Will we see underwater-focused content some day, or is it something they have decided to drop altogether? (see Capricorn pvp map or Borderlands lake for not terribly good signs).
Side question: who decided to make Southsun Cove a gorgeous island with a dedicated beach resort area and not bother to make any meaningful underwater area around it?

The wvw medium armour set (Mist Walker) looks great on a charr engie imho. Get a good mix of brown shades, grab a neat rifle skin and you get an epic wild west flavour.

If you wvw and have a few badges lying around, check the badge vendor on the maps, he’s got a lot of racial skins for badges. Some of them are dirt cheap (like 12 badges or something like that), and they used to come directly as a ‘skin’ item, so no transmutation required. From that lot, i like the Aureate Highlander Sword a lot. It’s one of the few GS in this game that doesn’t look like it’s been dropped in a hydraulic press.

[…]You missed the 15s internal cooldown that got added to Illusionary Membrane. That was a massive kick in the clones for tanky wvw mesmers at the time…
Yes I know I missed some… i just went through the patchnotes but did not really find all of them. My concentration right now isn’t the best since I’m ill atm ._.
I also missed:
Traited Blink does not work underwater anymore for example.
To be fair to your collection, some googling about the membrane nerf seems to indicate that it was ninjaed in without any mention in the patch notes.

Because ranger/hunter/archer is one of the most popular archetypes in every mmo. GW2 is no exception.
Save the Bell Choir activity!
I would really like everyone against stealth (And mostly when you say stealth you say Thief, cause yes mesmers and ragers have it, but they don’t use it like Thieves do…so don’t hide behind the words here) to say what class they main and what’s the most powerfull skill/combo, how they win in WvW and PvP and you’ll see that every class has certain something like i said in my 4th post here.
I main ranger. I think mmo stealth is a generally atrocious mechanic due to its massively “unfun” nature to the opposition: can’t see it coming, can’t anticipate it, and can only guess react. But all game devs seem to feel compelled to put it in to ensure the ninja-fan crowd plays their game.
In the case of gw2, it’s only getting worse imho, as rather than either break it down (too late for that) or leave it at that (probably the only sensible option now), they actually give more of it…
As i said, i main a ranger, which means i was gifted stealth on LB3 for some reason. And later with the Superior Runes of the Trapper, i’ve got a not-permastealth-but-boy-does-it-feel-like-it build which, while hilarious for me, must be one of the most annoying fights ever for the people i encounter. Well, PU mesmer is probably worse, but stealth-trap ranger has got to be close. This on a class that didn’t have stealth in the first place. There were tons of alternative way to boost rangers and traps, yet they chose to gift us with the most annoying mechanic (for the enemy) in game.
Revealed skills are probably the only thing so far that went in the right direction, and they’re way too restricted (Sic’em on ranger, and the toolbelt skill on engie, or are there more?). Unless trap-stealthing myself, i never go out in wvw without my Sic’em slotted, but i have yet to be revealed even once while abusing the Trapper Runes.
