I’ve played a varient of that build. taking CI and mace+torch, sword+shield and signet of stamina over zerker stance. it’s alright. better than gunflame vs people who can play, but playing another class is the real way to go.

there are a few other builds in the thread too. that’s the one I’ve run. it’s a varient of the one in the video, and the video has solid tips.

temp, scrapper, rev is the base. add other classes and double up on rev or engi as you please. full premde is strong enough that less optimal classes like warrior can operate with the right player.

I would add a second rev or scrapper and a DH and run sans necro, but that’s just me. I prefer classes with support for the team, they have multiplicative value in teamfight while classes like necro don’t add to your teams power, they are just support leeches.

plus, I’m only playing DH and a wee bit of scrapper so if I got be on the team I’ll ideally rock DH, or rock the engi if it’s asked of me.

Burn/wildfire warrior with sword/torch + mace/shield is good in teamfights. Plus it totally WRECKS thieves 1v1.

regardless, all classes need to be brought to DH level to keep the game sane. I would say theif was there already, with only mes and warrior below. theif is very strong if you’re not bad, and DH is strong vs bads. both feel similarly strong (don’t bring up the fact medi guard counters theif. this has been around for years and does not mean it’s a better class. just that the 1v1 is mechanically squed).

druid and ele are strong, but not problematically so. not like top three. this is mostly due to holding support roles, as opposed to God mode bruiser.

Guardian are great for lower tiers, but they really really taper off the higher you go. The trick bag is too narrow and Support Ele and Scrappers with hammer/Bulwark basically kill any reason to exist lol. Kinda makes me sad because I much prefer guardian but I may have to end up finishing the season as Reaper of the wall gets too hefty.

I’d argue thief has a better place in the Meta that guardian does. Major difference is that it’s significantly harder to reach that potential, it seems, as there are relatively few impactful thieves/daredevils.

Coincidentally, both Guardians and warriors have the same issue. Both are bad at sustaining outside of cooldowns. Warriors have hefty upfront burst and mitigation and Guardians have some heft up-front healing, but both are pressured out of cooldowns pretty easily and after that it’s an easy focus.

DH is actually pretty strong. I forget which build it is but its a tanky DH that has nothing but blocks and invulns. Does decent damage to. An Engi and Rev took a while to down him but of course, he got rezed and filled his HP back to 100% and fight continued.

I have to say I will go for DH over Engi even being an engi main. reason being DH rolls all classes, scrapper rolls hard but dies to strong condi.

scrapper has that teamfight spam, but DH got that focused burst. can’t tele into someone and take the majority of their health on engi. but that being said, engi can just rock up and roll all over you (unless you got dat condi spam down) and there is nothing you can do.

paladin on DH is a waste. Purification, kittenite, ToF, and RF is insane sustain with marauders. playing a DPS build with a tanky amulet just ruins it. losing that crit damge is not at all worth.

why bother asking for teirs? top teams run necro, engi, ele anz double rev. it’s blatantly the best comp.

for solo any of these classes will be the best to roll.

warrior is trash. theif is as good as they player. mes is awkward. DH is terribly straightforward. druid is great, but doesn’t see a lot of play for some reason.

still, I’m playing Engi or DH if I’m queuing. the occasional warrior or rev games if I’m bored. but DH and engi are pretty excellent in my hands. DH is better with a worse team imo, but maybe that’s just my perspective.

But will you be enjoying it more in 3 years. It’s that blush of first love. It always fades. Sometimes faster than others.

When we started this game, people loved it. It was the best thing ever. And then, a few months later, they introduced ascended gear, and the love affair was over.

All new relationships are great, because in that first experience we tend to overlook the bad points, but they’ll be there.

If you play games like that you’ll move from game to game forever. At the end of the day, you can’t compare a game that’s not released yet to one that’s been out for years. Well you can, but you’d be fooling yourself.

i never liked the pve in this game. I played solo WvW for a good while, then moved to guild WvW. after WvW stagnated too much and population started to bleed is moved to mostly PvP. nowadays i play PvP, and the occasional bit of WvW but I’m mostly in TS talking with guildies. I’ve only gone to the HoT maps for specialisations, and I really did not enjoy it at all.

furthermore, ive been playing BDO on korean servers for over five months. i can safely say i like the game.

what can I say, wvw is often as rewarding as eating gravel.

it’s obviously so people can’t afford server transfers so more gems are bought.

marauders DH is still as excellent as ever. I can beat anyone I can outplay, and it generates beautiful tears in chat.

ya gotta run heavy light and get close with LB. it the way.

anet just needs to port underwater combat onto gliders and add flak seige and shield generator bubbles for inner keeps as an upgrade. it’s not hard and should have come with HoT. it’s a logical fun thing to do to sell more games and have a larger happier player base.

with the right seige and a solid port of under water combat (maybe if anet feel fun add a few land weapons in air too) it would be great. the BLs are made to glide, and air raids would be incredible.

If a BRAND NEW player is placed right in the middle…that means that the assumed average of players already in pvp are that of a brand new player with 0 pvp experience. If that’s where, " they belong ", which they don’t since the have 0 pvp experience to maintain an average…—just…how does that remotely make any sense?

No you don’t you belong on the bottom and as you gain more experience and exposure to pvp you then can move to the middle if that’s where your skills land you.

They should start low and climb until they can’t climb any more.
I’m not sure why the lot of people are trying to make sense out of something that makes no sense. Almost desperate just for the sake of speaking to someone on the anet team. Like they are going to sweet talk their ideas into the workings of pvp like a politician…please. It’s a poor system.

It’s the difference between 60 cars trying to go through a 2 lane roundabout and 60 cars at a typical 4 way intersection.

We should optimize for the majority of the new players, who never tries PvP before. Many of them don’t even have a proper build. Putting them into the average MMR only cause misery for them, and for the team unlucky enough to have them.

On the other hand, for a new player, who happens to be amazing, getting a low starting MMR is just a minor inconvenience. Their matches are just easier until they win enough to face harder enemies.

We need a much lower starting MMR for new players.

NA t1 is the only wvw worth playing. it’s broken AF, but at least it has people to fight.

How do you know? T2 is better than T1 in certain timezones.

I just went to T1 myself, such a relief to just see enemies and level Elites when ever I want too.

T1 has stuff going on on all maps nearly all the time. my guild went from t5 to t1 because at the rate gw2 wvw is bleeding players t1 is the only real choice, as it will stay populated.

I’m pretty simple. just want some dudes to fight on the maps when I log on. t5 had nothing on the BLs and EBG was often pretty empty and boring. t1 always has stuff to do. it’s great.

NA t1 is the only wvw worth playing. it’s broken AF, but at least it has people to fight.

yeah, i wish warrior had it too

practice 1v1 a lot. have them fight a lot of people and builds/classes. teach them how to fight better. teamspeak helps a ton for feedback.

give and teach them builds. how to sustain. how to kill. how to support/teamfight etc

then teach them how to rotate for their class. call things in coms etc.

Why is it bad that it doesn’t need a kit to supplement it? It’s a good thing! We have also other skills than kits, you know? Kits are not our mechanic. It would surely be nice to see more builds using other utilities than kits.

all our other weapons need to be combined with kits for the best effect. hammer is so strong it doesn’t need them. this means it’s significantly stronger than enfis other weapons.

I’m 100% pro kits and will never not run them. they are the appeal, flavor and advantage of the class.

Really big hits should have animation priority in big fights so you always see them coming, and all ranged one shots like this should have tells on the actual projectile as well imo (actually I think it does).

true shot is actually a damage loss when compared with autos if it doesn’t crit. nerfing it’s damage too much risks making it pointless.

only class that is good to stack atm is druid. tripple druid is hell.

specs without support don’t scale too well.

tripple or double necro sounds good, but condi necro + condi rev is far better.

the reason druid is nuts when you stack it is tripple cele avatar.

Character creation does not make a good game… come back with another update in regards to game balances, gamemodes, etc.. you know… pvp related…

it’s got arenas for duels, open world PvP, guild wars, and castle sieges. combat is excellent. can’t speak for balance but all classes seem to have their ups and downs. seen streamers hold their own on all of them.

combat is much more fluid and freeform. plays like a fighting game.

it’s a great game. been playing the Korean for a while now, and eng on march 3 is gonnna be dope.

I posted my build and a breakdown of one of a combo I use often. there is a lot more nuance in the build and play ofc. it’s the build I came to after weeks of testing. I’ve been beating the strongest necros I know in out 1v1 sparrs easily. if you catch me online whisper me and I’ll give you tips.

if I’m on my A game there is no class I fear in the DH. sure scrapper is a small God, but it dies to condi overload. DH is no God, but it eats up condis without giving a care. hence why I’m playing it over scrapper in the current necro heavy meta.

sure I got more years and skill on the scrapper, but I want even chance vs everything so I’ll drop the OP class if it’s weak vs condi spam.

longbow/staff druid with quick draw is the best all ranged option

this is an excellent build. highly rewarding, super fun, and with a huge amount of room to grow your skill.

rev hammer is super fun, as is DH (medi trapper is my go to build for PvP. got sick of engi and warrior is trash, so had to fall back on the only other class I have a year of PvP play on). LB druid is special though. a lot of builds to choose from, a lot of ways you can clutch fights. so much room to grow.
