So, I just finished my second attempt at killing the boss for TA F/U

Wow, how have you not quit the game yet? Because it looks like you give up pretty easily.
Almost spit soda all over the kb when reading this. LOL
I would save all karma and laurels until level 80 and you have been playing a while. Figure out what build you are going for when you get to level 80 and then decide what to use it all on.
Me personally, I have never really spent any karma. Have just been saving it and never needed it. As for laurels, save em for ascended gear as AntiGw mentioned.
LOL. Got to love the internet.
You are the 400th person this month to complain about this.
Often times it is the person who is complaining who was doing something worth being kicked. Maybe you were doing something, we may never know.
AND sometimes people are just kittens. It’s the internet. People act in ways they never would if this was a face to face encounter. It’s the magic of a keyboard. For those situations, you just have to deal with it and move on.
FWIW, I do agree that it should be a majority vote (at least 3 people). But even then, people would still complain saying we should make it that all 4 people have to vote yes and then that would lead to people griefing because they cannot be kicked because their friend is in the group. So, in reality, there is no great answer to the problem other than to block them and find another group to run with or find a guild.
1350 for the backpiece, another 500 for the gift of ascension to make it ascended and another 75 to infuse it with +5 AR. Then spend any additional on 20 slot bags, as was suggested. Takes a while to get all that though.
There are other quiver looking skins like the “Endless Quiver” if you are after that look.
EDIT: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/List_of_ascended_equipment
Scroll to the bottom where it says backpieces
Have him send a support ticket to ANET to recover his account so he can log in and move someone else in to the leader.
Depends on how much you run fractals. If you don’t plan to go into the higher levels, then it really isn’t going to pay to be decked out in AR infusions.
Keep in mind that what you are talking about is “end game” gear. It is very expensive to get a fine infusion like 5 power/5 AR for example requires 100 powerful bloods plus other stuff which is quite pricey and that’s just one infusion.
I would say it would depend on where you are in the game. If you don’t have much gold, buy the 75 token infusion and maybe save up for later for the fine infusion. If you have a bunch of gold laying around and nothing to spend it on, go for the fine infusion now.
One thing to keep in mind is, you can infuse items with +5AR and then add the fine infusion for a total of +10 per item. You have to do the AR infusion first making the item naturally infused before adding the fine infusion or it will be destroyed.
@OP: Not sure if serious…… ?
I really hope this thread is a joke. I can’t believe any sane person would come to the conclusion you did after you admit to running off to kill chickens and, in one case, dying doing it.
I would have kicked you long before they did if you had done that in my group without at least asking/saying something.

Just to let you know, on those 2 bosses, there are no red circles. But thank you
OK, I didn’t particularly remember that, but either way staying out of AOE is a given.
So I hit level 42 last night and decided to do Caudecus’s Manor Story mode on my guardian last night. All I can say is Wow! I went greatsword for dps and staff for support as I read that while leveling the staff can help in dungeons for supporting your group. The first boss, the golem kept killing our party until we learned that the fire AOE will kill you unless you move out. The second boss, samething, stay out of the whirlwind AOE or it will kill you. The rest of the dungeon the bosses weren’t really an issue, it was more of the fact that you had a champion that had a gold ring and then you had 3-5 silver ringed mobs that you had to kill. I’m not sure if it was a DPS issue or just not knowing what to kill first but the first 2 bosses I was just running around ressing people and healing / shouting and then I was dps’ing the rest of the time on the packs of mobs. We wiped probably 15-20 times and we finally got through it but it left a bad taste in my mouth because of the sheer difficulty that seemed to increase from AC story. Yes the ghosts hit like trucks but they were manageable whereas the champion + silver spawns in CM story just seemed so hard every pull. I did enjoy the dungeon overall but I just wasn’t sure exactly what we were doing wrong that seemed so punishing. Our group composition was 2 guardians, 1 mesmer, 1 ranger, and 1 thief. The first guardian ran sword and board the whole time while I switched between GS / Staff. Any ideas as to what to do differently if I want to run this again in the future??
Also there were no 80’s and this was a complete pug, no guildies, no mumble/vent.
I see your problem. If you don’t realize to get out of the red circles that enemies drop on you, you won’t last long in any dungeon.
I like boobs but you don’t see me making a thread about it
After all the threads complaining about this or that, isn’t it refreshing to have someone post about something they DO like?
Pro-tip: Enjoy the “I like” threads.
I think the problem here is most players don’t want a hard mode. I know some do, the really good players who faceroll any content that is out now (i.e. lupi in 17 seconds). It sounds great on face value to have a challenge and make things harder, but how many people are really going to be able to do that content? I know, l2p noobs, blah blah. The reality is people probably won’t or can’t. It then becomes a time vs. reward for Anet. Do they spend the time to make content for a few folks, or continue to develop stuff for the masses?
In order to make a hard mode, they would really have to revamp all the dungeons, the mechanics in them and all the boss fights. Just adding higher health pools and mobs that move out of AOE or heal themselves isn’t going to make it more fun. Most mobs already have too much health and don’t reward you enough to take the time to kill them all.
Instead of “hard mode”, they should really design some new dungeons that are much more challenging from a mechanics stand point. Something where you need to actually work as a team like splitting up to accomplish multiple tasks or actually explore the dungeon looking for pieces to a device or something like AC P1 so players have to actually search the dungeon.
Uhm, they make another character?
So not having the time to level 5 different characters (guardian, mesmer, necro, elementalist, thief) is a reason good enough to kick someone?
XDWell technically you can just pick one and lvl it. An ele or a war or a guard or whatever. Not hard with crafting, not to mention all the free booster hand outs. Sitting on the same poor class and expecting other people to deal with it because you cant be bothered to make another one isn’t the answer. The real issue, and the one you really should be getting mad at is Arena Net for making the classes the way they are. It really isn’t fair that some classes provide more for a group than others. But that’s what happens when they are too lazy to split pve and pvp skills and sit in denial. Kicking someone for thier class I find isn’t a really valid reason, but at the same time, I have seen enough shortbow auto attack bear pet rangers to understand why.
Well, of course, people are blaming Anet. Did you think people were blaming you?
You actually bring up a great point here about class balance that most people complaining about this path are missing. Anet doesn’t have good balance because they are stubbornly trying to balance pve and pvp at the same time, yet at the same time, they create/edit dungeon content to make it so you really pretty much need the “right” classes. I thought I remember them saying in the past that they wouldn’t create content that wouldn’t really be doable by all classes, and yes I am too lazy to look that up I just vaguely remember that.
Also, LOL on the shortbow autoattack bear pet rangers. I agree, I am not one to kick because of class or level, but sometimes……
Yeah, I prob should have searched.
Thanks for the help.
No one knows yet so until we do, don’t do anything and don’t worry too much about it (yet!).
I did for/up with pugs 2-3 times, (only did it with pugs), don’t think we wiped even once, I don’t get what so hard about this path
You are lucky then. I have PUG’d this path at least 5 times in the last two weeks and we never came close to beating it.
Basically, just play the game. That will level you up and gain you gold.
Start in your home world and do map completion there. Then move on to another place you would like to explore while continuing to do your personal story whenever you are the appropriate level for it. I think that is the best way to level, gain gold and karma.
Never run a necro before, but as far as I know, you want to go with condition damage stats.
RE-doing my warrior build to be a mix of Knight and Zerk.
Which would be more beneficial, the runes or the orbs, or something else?
I don’t fully understand how the new ‘reward’ system in dungeons is meant to work, but I think it’s probably just getting over-hyped at this point, just like the previous patches that were meant to be super amazing.
This^
What Direksone said, I always see people running SE on gw2lfg.com
You know you can still outrange him, don’t you?
What do you mean by this? You can’t range him at the entrance like groups used to do pre-patch.
I posted in the guild section looking for a dungeon guild and had a couple people message me back. I ended up joining one and, so far, it has been nice.
HI,
I am looking for a guild that primarily enjoys running dungeons. Currently I am in a guild that is more favored toward WvW. While I enjoy many of the members, I just don’t participate in WvW really at all.
I haven’t really had too many problems PUGing dungeons, but would enjoy running them more with organized groups who communicate and work together.
I am on Tarnished Coast if that matters (NA).
Please send me a message or post here!
Thanks,
ign: crankked
So, right now, my build is a mess. I run knights armor with a bunch of junk runes, some magic find stuff and misc stuff I picked up along the way. I don’t even have high end trinkets (amulets, backpiece, etc…).
Currently I run Axe/Sword + LB which I really like, plus it doesn’t hurt that I am very familiar with that set up. I run 30/10/0/20/10. 10 in the last spot just to get the increased movement speed because I like being able to get to where I want faster. I am fine retraiting to anything else, but I would like to keep the last 10 for the speed increase.
I don’t really want to change my weapons, but the rest I am open to. I really only play pve and run dungeons. I don’t typically have a problem staying alive. I am not one of those people who can dodge all the time and never make a mistake, but I can do it pretty well.
I guess, what I want to do is increase my DPS as much as possible. I don’t want to go full zerker, I’d like to keep some survivability. I suppose just getting the right runes on my armor would help a lot. I don’t really understand what is more important for offense and defense stats wise or what pieces of armor/trinkets should be what.
I would really like a middle of the road build between full glass and bunker. I don’t mind losing the armor I have if I have to. Maybe half Zerk/Half Knights? I really just don’t understand how to find a balance in stats like some of you would. I have 100’s of gold/laurels and other currencies like guild commendations and stuff to buy pretty much anything. I don’t know why I didn’t do any of this sooner other than because I don’t really know what to buy to achieve that nice middle ground.
Any help is greatly appreciated,
Thanks!
Fractals immediately bumps you to level 80 when you enter the instance. However, it isn’t recommended until you actually reach that level because you’ll be able to get better gear, increasing your survivability. As you go, Fractals can be one of the most brutal dungeon series in the game. However, in terms of drops and money making, it can also be one of the most rewarding.
FOTM is one of the worst places to make money in game. People really only run FOTM for the skins and to get the backpiece.
Meh, you won’t see many kites around in 2 weeks from now anyway. Kites are just the flavor of the week.
There always has to be something to complain about I guess……
These were the exact two I was missing. Thank you!
This is just your standard run of the mill logic that is put forth in everyday society and not just in video games. Every time someone is unhappy with anything in life, they want those in charge to regulate it. Happens all the time with people asking the government to try and intervene because something bothers them and, guess what, when you ask those in charge to do something like this, it will just get kittened up and everyone will be less happy.
tl;dr Stop whining and asking ANET to regulate every little thing in the game. My guess is if they did you would like the result even less. Don’t forget to always remember: IT’S A VIDEO GAME, NOT LIFE AND DEATH.
EDIT: As was said above, it’s a no-brainer to make it a majority vote (i.e. 3 people to kick).
Dat caps lock.
What, as a player, would you suggest I do about players like this? At most I could block them all and endeavor not to party with any of them again (which would be easier if party chat persisted after being forced out of a party and a zone). I think the main problem here is not so much the party kick system, although I do agree about the 2 vote kicks being absurd, but rather the way dungeon rewards are so heavily focused at the end of the dungeon. Players forced to leave prior to the end reward feel as if they have gained nothing. I think if tokens were more spread throughout the dungeons, say 50% from various bosses/chests and 50% at the end (scaling for DR of course), this wouldn’t be nearly as much of a problem.
I have only been kicked once at the end of a fractal for a kitten reason so I feel your pain, but some type of regulation isn’t the answer. We just need to deal with it and the fact that some people are kittens. I don’t know what the exact answer would be because there are pros and cons to any “solution” that people come up with. I think we could at least move it to a majority vote.
For my 3000 point chest I get the choice between Radiant Gloves and Hellfire Gloves.
Not sure if everyone is offered the same thing. I guess it would depend on the armor your class wears. To me they both look pretty cool, although neither really fits my current armor. I’m probably going to be redoing my entire build soon anyway, but my questions are:
Does anyone know if we will be offered more of these styles of armors? I imagine that eventually you will be offered the chance to get one of each piece of armor with either of the two options. Not sure that I want to run around with a full radiant set though, might blind some people. :P
If we aren’t offered a full set eventually, what is the point in these armor skins? I can’t imagine putting either of these gloves with any other set since they look so different from anything you currently see around.
I know, in the end, it all boils down to personal preference, but I can’t decide which to take. Maybe I am overthinking it. Wish you could take one now and trade it in for the other at a later time if you change your mind.
It has been brought up before. I know I have at least seen it in the suggestions forum.
Unfortunately, there is no way to tell what paths you have completed unless you wrote it down or remember them.
Store them on an alt and park him at the bank. Real easy to log out and back in to transfer what you need.
How about fixing the fractals that are bugged all to kitten? You really want them to release another fractal that everyone can complain about because it’s so full of bugs it’s practically unplayable at times?
Take the time to fix what you have first please!

so we were being watched the whole time. why would an employee came into our game and messed things up and knew that we spent 3+ hours playing the game and had to quit because he did what he did. We are losing our freedom of talking on the phone, emails, chats, text, now games too? I didn’t sign up for this. If i knew this would happened? I wouldn’t buy the game. I quit supporting by buying the gems with my money because i don’t like how Anet operate, and surprisingly how many people have the same thoughts ? I’m not afraid to speak up, so what? ban me? show us if you care about the players and respect them.
The Anet employee wasn’t trolling you. The person who said that above was joking.
It doesn’t surprise me that ANET employees have no idea.

So many disillusioned people who think PUGs are capable of listening to directions or that these PUGs have alts with the optimal equipment and party makeup.
Please provide me with 1 reason why end game content should be easy for people who can’t follow directions and take bad builds, bad utilities, and bad party makeups. Then prove to me that this fight is at all hard, because it’s not.
Last time I was in that path (a few days ago), we tried the stack and melee technique without reflect (as we had no class with one). We, quite literally, died before anyone could even heal/cleanse. My health went from full to zero in seconds. I was in a PUG group who made it very easily to that point. I don’t remember what the party composition was, I know it was me (warrior), another warrior, an engie and I think a thief. Can’t remember for sure though, but the bottom line is it was impossible, for that particular party make up anyway. We wiped and it was over even though we tried many more times.
I don’t mind trying to beat this path with PUG’s over and over until I finally do it ( I am a few paths from Dungeon Master), but I can’t imagine the crazy amount of spiders spawning was ever intended.
Ummm you do realize the engi and the thief could have brought some reflect/projectile destruction? Thief can use his smoke screen. Thief uses his smoke screen (7sec) engi uses his elixir U toolbelt (wall of reflection or smoke screen) (9sec) that leaves 15sec till the theif can use his again, but im hoping the 5th party member can reflect/protect aswel.. Also not sure if you stand inside a theif dagger storm if that works aswell. But you certainly had some options.
Well, I don’t know enough about other classes to have known that. I guess I have just had bad luck with PUG groups and this path then, because I have gone through it three times now and every time the group I am in gets to the end, we spend about 20 minutes trying and end up quitting out.
EDIT: That actually makes me kind of mad now that you mentioned that. I specifically told the group before we went in that you need to stack and melee, use reflect/protect and I knew that because I have read 10 threads here on this forum about this path. Everyone was like “I have no reflect/protect skills”. Up until this path, I have had almost no issues with PUG groups. So sad…..

I agree. I don’t see any reason to run story mode more than once per account. This post, however, might be better served in the “suggestions” forum.
If the spawns are so ridiculous then why can they keep the spawns down with half stats?
Are you insinuating that the number of spiders that spawn on that boss fight are reasonable? Especially, if you don’t beat him the first time around and they don’t reset. I still cannot comprehend why ANET thinks buffing HP or adding stupid amounts of mobs makes things more fun/challenging. All it does is make it longer and more boring, and in this case, just plain old silly.
This boss is doable naked people.
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/pagmo/nfs/project/p/pa/pagmo/1/15/Don_t_panic.jpgPeople really need to stop posting stuff like this as if this is some end all be all that dungeons are the easiest thing for everyone and every single problem people have with this game is just a cut and dry l2p issue.
Of course a group of 5 very skilled and coordinated players can do stuff like beat this boss with no armor. And yes, it is getting annoying having 10 threads a week about nerfing this path, but the OP isn’t even complaining. He is asking wtf is with the ridiculous amount of spiders that now spawn (Thank you ANET for “fixing” another “problem” that wasn’t actually a real issue).
There will always be elite groups that can wipe the floor with any content and do it in under 5 minutes with no armor, but that doesn’t mean everyone can. Maybe when people come to the forums for help, they can actually get some answers other than ridicule.
you make it sound like those people who demonstrated the optimal setup to complete this path didn’t offer to help at all.
Of course not. There are many people who help on the forums, but the post I responded to wasn’t one of those helpful posts. Like I said, this boss is faceroll for some players who coordinate well and are highly organized, skilled and bring the exact class make up needed. For the other 90% of the people who join PUG groups, it isn’t so easy to beat this particular boss because of the crazy amount of spider spawns.
This boss is doable naked people.

buy bank slots for your alts and park stuff there
Not sure what you are missing, but Southsun Cove doesn’t count toward map completion.
For farming gold, just run CoF P1 as much as you can.
You can buy mats off the TP or farm some yourself, which ever you feel is easier and works better for you.
The hardest part is getting the precursor.
Make sure you read through the wiki for the legendary you want. There is ALOT of stuff you need.
Meh, the whole thing is story mode considering it’s part of the living STORY.
Easy mode and a hard mode you say?
Never heard this suggestion on these forums. Ever.
/sarcasm
On a serious note, this is a good idea. Or just leave the dungeon for another month for people to try to get the achievements.
I don’t see why they limited it to a level 80 character, but I also don’t see what the big deal is. If you want to buy the elite skill, just level 5 more times. I assume you plan to level the toon up anyway?
@Alacrity: The 5 skill points do count toward the monthly.
