Someone else mentioned that one of the devs admitted it was a mistake/bug. Of course that is hearsay from a second source, but I would check into it and/or wait to see what happens.
Wow, I should sell now then since I am in no hurry to get an ascended weapon
What am I missing here with the price of these things?
There is no monthly subscription fee. Please remember this as we close this thread.
Yeah, I think we all realize that since we play the game.
However, there is a point between having a gem store item to make money and having a gem store item to gouge your customers with.
To OP: Keep in mind that a lot of people have been transferring gold to gems lately because of all the farming, so it may seem high dollar wise, but many people are getting it with gems purchased with gold.
W1 was hard? Please tell me you are not serious.
Why should it be “forbidden”? Not everyone is a no-life hardcore player. As much as I personally hate people asking for gold, I can understand said people sometimes asking. Or even items. Just because you dont like people asking does not mean you say others are forbidden and should be put in ToS. There is a reason for this forum thread “Players Helping Players.”
Just because someone makes more money in the game than others, it does not make them no-life losers. It is very easy to farm mats and gold in this game and everyone is responsible for doing it themselves. If you don’t have the time to dedicate to farming for what you want, then lighten the load in your life and play more, or even play a different game that you have time to get the things you want in.
I said it in another post and I will say it again: Would you walk the streets irl and ask people for money to buy a Ferrari? Would you laugh at that person if you saw them do that or give them money? No, you would tell them to work harder to make more money to buy it themselves.
If you take into consideration that you are working/have a job, and earning money. i think that makes your question “will you beg money for ferrari” invalid as you are already working…
No, the point is, you are begging for money to buy a vanity item. I used Ferrari as an example. Feel free to insert whatever you would like in place so you can wrap your head around what it is he is actually begging for.
I can’t seem to find the info via google, but which professions are going to 500? I thought it was just the weapon professions at first (weaponsmith, huntsman, artificer), but all I find on google is that they all are going.
I know I read about this somewhere I just can’t remember where, can someone please answer this?
TIA
Tag champions from range and be safe :/
He isn’t talking about running in a zerg at the invasions.
To OP: The aetherblades are definitely one of the harder pve opponents you can run into since seemingly they all have tons of stuns, knockdowns and confusions. There is nothing more annoying than getting stun locked for 3/4 of your health or more.
No? But there is only 2 places where you can met aetherblades – balloon tower events and invasion
Right, and he specifically asked about the ones guarding the balloons.

Actually, to make gold quick you should be farming the meta events that occur. It is getting close to too late for that atm, but if the next living story involves mass farming of champs, then that is where you should be to make gold.
Also, running orr and maybe frostgorge for ori and other mats isn’t a bad idea instead of spending the gold on them, plus you can sell the stuff you don’t need for more gold.
First off why does everything have to be “fair”?
Secondly, while it is unfortunate that you had rl stuff, if you miss things in game because you are gone then that is too bad. I didn’t start playing until around January so I missed out on all the stuff before that. That is the nice thing about the living story stuff. It is always changing and when you come back from a break there will always be something different.
Lastly, you already said it yourself, no one is getting rich off the nodes anyway and the charged quartz you make with the crystals are account bound anyway. Plus, as of right now, the only thing you can do with the charged pieces are make celestial gear. IIRC, all the prices for the recipes are really high anyway, so if you have the gold to buy those recipes you should have plenty to buy the crystals.
Also, Astral is right, you can always enter the instance with a friend and mine it everyday.
Hey GW2 Community,
I want a legendary iam farming as much as i can but i work have a wife and also like to play WvW and Spvp instead of farming the rest of my spare time after work.
If you want something you need to work at it like anything else in life. If you really want to farm for a legendary then you should stop playing wvw and pvp and spend more time farming. I, and I imagine many others on this forum, have jobs, wives and even children, but you don’t see anyone else begging save for a few people here or there.
What is it with the internet that makes people do things they normally would never do? Would you walk the streets and beg people for money so you can buy a Ferrari?
(No, I don’t really need an answer to that question. It was rhetorical.)
@Mourningcry: I tend to agree with you to a point. However, I think most people’s excitement is based on the fact that at least they will know how much they need to craft/gather/wait to get a precursor. Rather than just spending, in some cases, 100’s of gold in the MF or farming for months to buy one off the TP.
As far as I am concerned, I would spend twice the price in mats to get one rather than buy one off the TP from some kitten who is just buying and flipping them. I don’t really want a legendary and I am not currently working toward one, but if I was, I would be happy with the addition of crafting precursors even if it meant a heck of a lot more work than you can imagine.
With the new invasion event u should be able to make alot more gold much faster. About 3 weeks ago my gold stash was at 170 and as of today 520 golds just from farmng. Invasion event is actually fun, when u have around 100 players on screen and frame rate slows down and u feel like your computer is gonna explode, maaannn thats something.
I agree. I don’t really enjoy farming either, especially the same thing over and over like cof p1. But, the invasion events are really pretty fun to me. It is pretty funny when you get 100+ people on the screen and everything looks like a blur for a little while as said above ^^
Yes, there is an additional fee.
I will agree to an extent. Glitching is just not something people should be doing even if it is the easiest. I also do what you do by asking and just going along if they majoriy rules as not to cause waves.
However, I would also say I reside somewhat in the camp of blaming anet. They are so focused on the living story and the gem store, the least they could do is take a little time to fix some of the these major exploits. There are so many bugs and other glitches in fractals and dungeons it’s laughable that they barely have even been acknowledged by anet one year after release. And then when they do “fix” something, it’s not something that really needed it anyway, like the dredge fractal.
I will also say that part of the problem is the level design, or lack thereof, in some cases. Seriously, who wants to kill mob after mob of enemies with enormous health pools in some cases (i.e. hotw) and receive little to no reward for it? To me, that is not fun at all either. I think they need to design some dungeons where you actually need to work as a team and solve puzzles and overcome obstacles or challenges rather than just adding more mobs and/or cutting off skip points.
Esplen is right. Take fractals for example. How many bugs are there that could really be addressed? And the one and only thing they fix is to add more dredge.
@Tolunart: I noticed you say anet tests things several times. I am not so sure they even test things one time.
What’s the point of transforming one useless currency (laurels) into another (gold) or even a third (T6 mats).
I tend to agree here with this statement.
Gold is easy enough to come by in this game. I would always keep the time gated currency over everything else. Sure there isn’t a ton to buy with laurels now, but you never know what will come down the road. They might even be used for some component in 500 level crafting, or be used as an easy way to purchase mats for said crafting.
The limiting factor on gold production in this game is your own personal time and, realistically, there isn’t even a ton of stuff to spend gold on anyway once you buy exotic stuff or you collect things.
tl;dr : Save the laurels.
The problem at the moment is everyone is farming the events so no one is in the open world anymore really.
You could check out the guild recruitment section here or even sit around LA yourself for a little while, there are always people posting guild recruitment ads. Or just explore the maps as I see the same people doing recruiting. More so at world boss events where they know a larger crowd will congregate.
I know how you feel about seeing an empty world and I feel the same way often times. You could do the events with everyone else as there is always 100’s of people at them even in the overflow servers. Or you could just level up on your own (you are halfway there) and begin running dungeons or map completion or whatever. It doesn’t take real long to level in this game.
Yeah I just leveled tailoring last night in about 40 minutes from 1-400. Now, seeing as how this content has been available since launch, calling it a time sink is just absurd.
It is a time sink, all it costs is time and money, money is made with time.
Its not work, its a credit card swipe mostly.
What are you talking about? I have never converted money to gold in this game. It cost me roughly 12 gold and 30 minutes to go from 1-400. Gold is very easy to come by, especially now.
Calling it a time sink and making reference to having to spend actual money is absurd.
A time sink? It took me less than 30 minutes to craft weaponsmithing to 400 by following a guide and that includes buying the materials I need off the tp
rng. I have gotten more than one several times and also got 2 charged crystals from it.
It is a silly node though I would have to agree. Takes forever to get over there by free teleports or you end up paying half of what you would make on the tp in teleport fees. They should have put it in Lion’s Arch where everyone is all the time, like making the instance right next to the bank.
Wouldn’t mass farming bring the price down since supply would be so high?
Did you get the gems in game? If so, it worked. If not, the transaction may have failed. Happens on the world wide interweb from time to time.
I would give it a little time and see if they show up, otherwise check your credit card website to see if the transaction was made. Most cards will take about 24 hours to show on their website (I think).
Ascended items and after that I would save them and see if anet comes up with another use for them.
Tested the bosses in HotW, I don’t feel like disclosing my methods but I believe they have close to 7 billion health.
lol, would have guessed more than 7.
Oh, i’m not the only one that noticed this?
Is very unfortunate for low playtime players not to be able to do dungeons more time with different characters, having only 180 tokens at day mean that for a full set we have to wait weeks while a lot of old players already did it and have tons of sets make in 2-3 days.
This is very unfair for legit players with limited play time, please Anet revert the change or fix it.
I’m interested in CM full set but in this way it took me so much time, that i’m force to log in to do the 3 paths then log out bored waiting the next day.
Very very bad ruleset.
Very boring and annoy.
So, if you only log in to do your dungeon runs for tokens then log back out bored to tears, then why are you even playing this game? What will you do once you have the armor/weapons? Quit the game because you now have what you want and are bored? That logic doesn’t make sense.
Mexican Cookie hit it on the head with his two posts. Only ones you need to read in this thread.
So does this mean that you can start an alt, use the scroll and get your free BL key for making it to level 10?
1 laurel = 2 unidentified dyes. So 35-40s.
I think the value is a little greater than that. I’m not disputing the whole equation, but when we are talking about a time gated item like a laurel I think the value is higher than what you can trade it for.
It would really vary from person to person. Some people come on and play everyday like me and do my dailies and monthlies so I have a couple hundred of them atm. To others who don’t do that, the value would be way higher because they have less of them.
I don’t ever trade them for gold, hence the reason I have so many. I bought my ascended items and I keep em in case I roll another toon or anet releases some other cool gear or maybe they might be used in legendary crafting down the road. It’s not something like karma where you can just farm as much as you need.
It’s a game – it’s supposed to be fun.
Why do so many people have the urge to turn it into a job?
Because farming could be their idea of fun.
Of course everyone has their own idea of “fun”, but I can’t believe that even half the people doing it actually find it fun. People do it for money.
No, every time you kill a champ he gives you a bag. There are a 100 people at any given time running a certain pattern of about 5 different champs in cursed shore non stop. I was there last night and came away with 100 or so bags in a couple hours.
If you are level 80 and want to farm go to cursed shore and ask where the zerg is, learn the rotation and follow along.
Why wait? At the very least, you should continue to farm as usual. Even if the materials needed change drastically from what you farm now, you can always sell them and put the money toward anything you would need in the future.
Who knows, they may not release the new legendary stuff until the end of the year or next year. No reason to waste valuable farming time.
Well thats your opinion, not mine or many others.
Yeah, I recognize the fact that it’s my opinion since I am the one that gave it.
You posted on the forums and I responded that it sounds like a bad idea. Did you expect every single person who responded to love your idea to death?
Account bound is always better than soulbound especially when you have to spend gold :P
There is something inherently wrong with what you are asking. I am not trying to turn this into a TP flippers argument one way or the other.
BUT, do we really need an app to allow people to spend all day every day no matter where they are flipping stuff on the TP? I thought this was an MMO anyway not a stock market simulation game.
No offense, but this is a terrible idea.
I just don’t see how it is going to be so much easier than gw2lfg.
Sure, you won’t have to alt-tab over to the internet, but is that really that much of a chore? I guess it would make it slightly easier, but your reasoning doesn’t really “prove” that we are lacking an in game lfg.
Not that I wouldn’t use it, I just don’t see it making my life appreciably easier/better when looking to do dungeons.
What Blood Red Arachnid said sums it up perfectly. You don’t even need to read any more of this thread or have any additional posts.
/thread
A. This is the 100th post about this topic, probably could have avoided this thread altogether and just posted in one of those threads.
B. More importantly, ANET doesn’t read the dungeon forums anymore so your are wasting your time.
So does the Sigil of Battle stack? For instance, if I put it on GS and LB as a warrior, can I just keep switching every 5 seconds and stack to 25 might?
9 seconds is the cooldown.
So even if I can switch weapons every 5 seconds, it still wont stack unless I change every 9 seconds?

Are you talking about fractal relics?
You don’t need to take them out anymore. Just go to the vendor and all your currency will show when trying to buy something.
This is probably just the starting point. Once they see what people are doing and where they are farming, they will adjust accordingly.
Not sure why CM is less than AC.
OMG, you have to wait a little time to get something instead of immediate gratification? How will you all continue on living anymore? Where exactly did society go wrong when someone is calling for a public outcry against a game company because, aghast, you can’t have something the second you want it? I encourage you to take a step back and really examine what it is you are complaining about and maybe try and develop a better perspective of the situation.
As for having alts, I don’t see how anet is discouraging anything other than farming here. Most people lvl alts to use them in different situations or pvp/wvw.
@Wraith: Now that it pays to run different paths rather than farming the same path for 10 hours straight, you should have no problem getting a group for all three paths of any dungeon.
I approve of this message, but as was said, better reserved for the suggestions forum!
Just because you are looking for blood doesn’t mean you cant farm other t6 mats. Just sell em and use the money to buy blood. Lots of good suggestions in this thread as to where to do that.
I think there is another thread about this already that was started like literally 6 months ago. IIRC, there were devs that responded that this glitch was fixed multiple times. Guess living story comes before fixing game breaking, or for that matter, non-game breaking bugs.
I wouldn’t give up on fractals though because of it. I have run a bunch and never ran into this problem myself, so not like it happens all the time.
Ahh another one of these, outstanding.
On a side note: I need this and one other path for DM title. My last attempt was in a group about a week ago, with 4 guardians (and me as a warrior). Yes, you read that correctly, 4 guardians. Guess why I hate PUG’s. We still failed. I tried to explain about chaining reflects and all that. Apparently, people are either really bad or really blind/deaf. There should have been so much reflection that the spiders died instantly along with the tree, but alas, it just isn’t meant to be.
While I don’t think the path needs a nerf other than maybe for it to reset the spiders like almost every other encounter would if you fail, but kitten this isn’t easy if you PUG it. There is something inherently wrong with this situation when well over half of all dungeon runs (my own speculation of course) are PUG groups who will never get better are forced to deal with situations like this.
I’m all for making content hard(er), but when the game is basically designed to get people into PUG groups, you shouldn’t have boss encounters like this that are near impossible for most PUG groups.
