no that’s probably the best condi build though i prefer taking 10 out of firearms and putting it into alchemy for both protection injection and backpack regenerator.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQJAqelIqqb3zSiF17IyoCdmoH5n+ZZfeIXsFEC-ToAAzCpI0SplTLjWStsaNEZuA
is what i use
i change elixir gun to elixir s or rocket boots depending on how i feel.
get rid of the gold sellers and bring back the chinese gold farmers and the botters. god i miss stacks of t6 mats for 10g.
it still works 151515115
dredge strazar shoot through walls.
well for pve i’ve run this particular build with much success though you won’t be invited to any speed runs anytime soon
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQJAqalspSXnvSeF87ICoH5FfNiie8YU2k9pAbB-jwBBIgBkWAkyAI/pIasVhFRjVxETBjIqGA-e
the build is getting nerfed on dec 10 though.
working as intended
if they’re not moving, they won’t get knocked down
my build doesn’t change. maybe i’ll swap battle for energy but we’ll see
well for this particular build, i suppose you’re better off staying far away. you have many ways of kiting people with rifle and chill. however your kill combo involves being up close. net shot > jump shot > blunderbuss > overcharged shot > grenade barrage > grenade spam.
you can also lead off with overcharged shot because it’s instant knockback
make sure you put stability on yourself before you overcharge shot so you don’t get knocked back.
have fury up for the kill combo
you can lead off your kill combo with elixir s invisibility
Why Speedy Kits? You also already have Automated Medical Response, so there’s no reason to take Inertial Converter.
inertial converter is for toss elixir r and it refreshes the stunbreak and water field for good measure. automated medical response doesn’t refresh the healing turret toolbelt. and speedy kits because i like permanent swiftness lol.
double pistols, grenades, bombs, incendiary powder and sharpshooter traits
ravaging/rampager for leveling
rampager/rabid when you hit 80.
(edited by ellesee.8297)
have you considered taking out points from alchemy and placing them into explosives? you’d be supporting your party even further by stacking vulnerability, your bombs will do more damage, and you’ll gain even more might stacks on heal. you can also use grenadier for bosses that require ranged attacks if need be.
or maybe you could place only 15 into explosives and 5 into tools so you’ll have a recharged stunbreak and water field if your health goes too low. you can swap out elixir u for elixir r to make up for the vigor loss and the elixir r toolbelt is pretty amazing considering you have two of them.
also with 4% crit chance i’d swap sigils. maybe battle.
so something like this
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQJAqelIq6ZnwyuF17IyoCdWoHSohpWfeIXt1DC-jQCB4hBkaAkEBILqIasFhBpOMaVOhVNjIqWnEDA-e
or
(edited by ellesee.8297)
try something like this
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQFAUlspSXnvSiF17IyoCdmoHPGlNZfewWpFEC-jEyAYfASEQyrIasluwWdDS5Na6aMlLRUNA-w
reasoning:
you’re wearing power gear so shrapnel is useless. burning from incendiary powder will at least do decent damage even without high condi stats. you took also took grenadier but not grenade kit. if you were planning on using bombs then maybe try this
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQFAUlspSXnvynF17IyoCdmoHPGlNZfeIXt1DC-jEyAYfASEQyrIasluwWdDS5Na6aMlLRUNA-w
take out 10 from inventions and put it into tools for permanent swiftness
use fast acting elixirs/formula 409 instead of invigorating speed/fast acting elixirs because you can swap out elixir c for s and gain stunbreak/stealth/invuln while still maintaining good condi cleanse. if you want the permanent vigor swap out fast acting elixirs but you lose might gain, condi cleanse, longer heal cd, etc.
rifle is better than double pistols with power gear.
don’t use traveler runes. they are 10g each. use water/monk. i personally like two sets of 15% boon duration and one 20% might duration because i’m comfortable losing 10% might duration for an extra 30% duration in other boons(fury, swiftness, vigor).
personally i think giver gear is pretty garbage. you have plenty of boon duration from runes/traits. i’d run full zerk because hgh is a pure offensive build.
occasionally i’ll run a wrench smacking build for lols. i like the 6k auto attacks and 13k jump shots. used it in fractal 48 multiple times no problem.
you can easily keep up 25 might. use battle/strength and boon duration. you can use enhance performance too if you want.
hgh builds have excellent condition cleanse through 409.
stability, invisibility, guaranteed stomps through invulnerability and the other many upsides to having invulnerability.
grenades also do a lot of damage with power. with full rabid stats and lots of might, you’ll be doing a lot of physical and condition damage with high crit.
the class doesn’t need buffs.
i recommend watching really good engis play.
http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2pvptv
watch for jinn da vikk, ostrich eggs, chaith, or steamhawke. those are the engi players on that stream. watch ostrich eggs specifically because he’s the only engineer that does wvwvw.

am i the only one that thinks infused precision is a poopy trait? even with the new vigor changes coming up, infused precision does not equal 100% vigor uptime. say you swap to a kit and get vigor then you crit and get infused precision with 2 seconds left on your vigor. seems pretty shady. also i don’t even go into the firearms tree because i need protection injection and backpack regen to have any chance of surviving this stupid stun meta. plus the firearms tree is generally subpar anyway.
i am accepting any seasoned/hard/elder/ancient log donations towards my quip.
firstly infamous darkness, i wasn’t talking about you unless it really was you which would explain why you got so defensive. nobody wants to hear a snooty lecture every time they log on. keep that in mind.
second you’re just listing everything every class can do. who is going to take a venomshare thief or a terrormancer into a nerdy, sweaty speedrun that unfortunately so many people here think is the only way to play this game?
it’s evident some nerds just know how to suck the fun out of everything. can we just agree that whiners join the zerk heavies only party and everyone else just enjoy the game? i recall this one time i was doing a guild fractal 48 run and i was running a melee tool kit build because pve so why not. someone had to leave and then i guess we invited lunyboy’s buddy because he was one of these guys that likes telling everybody how to play their class. hey why aren’t you going grenades? hey run zerk armor because here is some math. god i could just hear that nasally voice and that nyah after everything he said.
i am pretty pumped for this patch. lots of great changes. love the transmute change. too bad they are overshadowed by the slight vigor nerf. the most exciting changes, however, are the nerfs to stupid builds like hammer/longbow and spirit rangers. oh i am excited.
well it’s clear some people understand all classes perform well in dungeons. others will type “zerk gear heavies only” in the lfg tool and eat fire shaman arrows left and right unless there’s a guardian wall in front of them and then proceed to tell me my class isn’t useful in dungeons lol. #1
yes i have no doubt you are a god amongst other lesser dungeon running necros and obviously your input on dungeon comps is absolute.
i wasn’t talking about the list, even though the idea of categorizing class “usefulness” is moronic. but if you want a list here’s an accurate one. it’s quite possibly the most accurate list you’ll ever find for pve.
1. mesmer
1. engineer
1. warrior
1. guardian
1. necro
1. ranger
1. thief
1. elementalist
i have run every dungeon and every fractal 48+ with every possible group comp. the only thing that matters is the people playing the class, not the class. if you’re talking about speed runs, then that’s the very definition of class elitism and it’s idiotic and most of those people are terrible anyway.
my backslot item is the starting engineer item. they look similar so i don’t care much. i completely understand what you guys are saying though and am for change.
as an asura engineer, i have no complaints because they are not goofy and oversized.
god the class elitism is for kittening kids. all classes perform well in dungeons. if you don’t agree then stick to your speedclear groups. or join my party and go on a tirade about how zerk armor is superior to everything so i can block you. my list is getting pretty big and my groups less kitteny.
welp no more permanent vigor. i’m sad
i’ve seen engis spam 8k bomb auto attacks while stacking team might and vulnerability. your retort.
the ui is fine. the camera angle on the other hand… can we go back to first person if we’re at extreme close range? you know like how it is in gw1
i’m glad that you don’t experience this bug. it was very nice of you to post and share that information.
isn’t this the bug forum?
if you wipe on captain ashym when he has his fiery greatsword, he’ll reset to 100% with the fiery greatsword.
every class contributes to dungeons, even necros. their 30/10/0/0/30 power build does quite a bit of damage. engis are probably the best vuln stackers in the game. we also have lots of fire and water fields, blast finishers, aoe heals, team condi removal etc.
for the elitists, the best dungeon comp has
1. damage
2. team might stacks
3. team fury stacks
4. vuln stacks
5. projectile reflection
if your build doesn’t have any of these, it still doesn’t matter because pve. run whatever you enjoy playing.
(edited by ellesee.8297)
Certain fractal bosses get stronger the less health they have (Captain Ashym, Legendary Archdiviner). If you wipe on a boss when they have low health, they’ll retain their low health abilities. This has been like this for a while. Any fix on the horizon?
When I click a link or an attached image in a post, I can’t go back in my browser. Any fix for this?
The question is will this be replacing elixir h, med-kit, or healing turret on your bar?
no lol
celestial gear has its uses but i’m not a fan. run full zerk with the 0/25/0/20/25 build
here’s an example. you can modify it to your playstyle.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQJAqOlIq7ZJxi6lEZUhODUh8Ski8zy+8gtkLIE-ToAAzCpIaS1krJTTymsNNEZuA
last utility slot can be elixir gun, elixir s, rocket boots, or whatever you want. runes can be swapped for nightmare, adventurer, or again whatever fits your playstyle. i find taking out 10 in firearms and putting it into alchemy for protection injection helps a lot against dumb warriors. if you run nightmare maybe consider smoldering to reach 50% burn duration.
(edited by ellesee.8297)
in the end use you use wichever weapon you like if you like FT use FT
thread over. everybody stop posting.
-well don’t take autotool installation. it doesn’t repair the turret that much
-you’re building condi, but rifle is a power weapon. use pistol/shield or pistol/pistol
-deadly mixtures doesn’t affect condition damage. it’s not good for a condi build
-your damage is quite low. find a way to get more damaging conditions in. all you have now are burning and small bleeds.
i personally use dire armor (condi>vit+tough) and rabid everything else (condi>prec+tough)
here’s my personal build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQJAqelIq6dX3SiF1LJyoCdGoC5lIF5nl95Bb9gQIA-j0BBYhBkWAkEBITqIasVhFRjVdDTHjIqGA-w
it has many uses, mainly the blind and pushback. power builds have access to a pretty hard hitting burst with 2 and condi builds get more burning. then there’s a fire field which is always nice.
engi has been my main for over a year now, but i have never played a bomb heal spec. however, if i were so inclined i’d maybe run something like this
i wouldn’t run cleric gear because for elixir infused bombs, the difference between 300 healing power and 1300 healing power is ~120 healing, extremely negligible in pve. you’re still supportive through team might and fury, aoe healing and condi removal, and combo fields/blast finishers, but you also deal good damage. you can take out 5 in tools and put it into explosives for grenadier just in case you encounter a fight where you need range. you’d swap elixir infused bombs for something like power shoes in that scenario. you can also swap out some zerk pieces of pvt or knights or clerics if you want to be sturdier.
(edited by ellesee.8297)
elitists are generally terrible anyway. the worst kinds of people are the ones that lie dead on the floor and tell me or others how to play.
it’s pve. all these numbers are unnecessary unless it’s your goal to clear SE P1 in record time. play what you like. it’ll work i promise you.
the 0/25/0/20/25 build is great
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQJAqelIq6dX3SrF17IxYGcuzgZU37KSR+bMA-jwBBYfBkEBgIAM5pIasFhFRjVXDT5iIqGA-e
if you like flamethrower, this build will give you good damage and team support.
then there’s the hgh FT build
