I wanted to play a supportive class, but I hate anything like guardian/paladin archetype.
<3 my Ele, especially since I discovered Auramancer, so much party buffs and support, while always being the last to die
the issue is that you need very specific progress to join a fractal party, the fractal update will allow people without higher fractal level to join higher fractals, massively increasing the pool of players that can form parties.
You only needed the multi server overflow because of the larger pool of fractal players there.
to be fair, stacking combo fields isn’t that useful, as only the first affects anything (and you can dodge it all at once), and there is a lot more reflect in gw2 compared to wow. My mesmer would love to feedback and then distortion on 5 multiboxed ranged users…
Ok, prove that it’s not my wife / son / dog playing on the other account.
Come on, who the kitten can tell?
How are they playing on at the same time on the same computer?
“breakout” events instead of mob respawning would be fantastic. Roaming groups you had to avoid (or a large part of the zone had to group up to fight) causing the respawns would be so cool.
When I first heard about DEs i thought that enemies would come from some stronghold and attempt to take the map piece by piece, and if they were pushed back the battle lines would move with it.
Alas that’s not the case, but the system definitely supports it, I love straits of devastation for that very reason, I wish every zone was like that.
I thought the TOS said 1 keypress should apply to one action on one character?
Totally agree, though suggestions is the correct forum
my support auramancer build really helped my ele become more fun, though it was already fun so it doesn’t really count.
When I got illusionary Persona on my mesmer that made it a lot more fun, but then it went back to being boring, guess I just don’t like mesmers.
Well whatever works is best
I personally use mouse4, q, e, r, t for heal, utilities and elite
ctrl m4, q, e, r for class mechanic buttons
mouse5 to dodge
everything else is default
Only the one strongest speed increase counts. All speed boosts only stack duration not intensity.
You contradicted yourself, if warcraft was interesting you wouldn’t be watching videos or movies :p
The combat in gw2 is far more engaging, maybe you’re not doing the mmo stuff, hearts are bad, do some dynamic event chains. Or change class, necromancers are quite underpowered at the moment, the game is still young and many balance issues remain.
eles are great at staying alive through active play, you’re mobile, get lots of boons and healing. Choosing one as your first is quite a trial by fire (remember to use all attunements) and most classes require some traits before they get really powerful.
i played a mage in wow and i love the ele in gw2, d/d is sweet
I just think the asura goggles should be usable in any armour type.
eles have perma vigor, thiefs have 3 dodges, it’s fine as it is. (also energy sigils)
Warrior could use a staff like a shaolin master :P (or maybe plant it like a banner and go in with punches XD) Scepter could maybe be a more intellectual warrior
New weapons would be the best way to add skills to the classes, and skills are desperately needed, so let’s hope that’s their plan. (and making elites like the old elites – where you can choose one or have an extra utility)
Yes, they’re wonderful for boosting the xp for my alts/sp. I have a feeling all the people complaining about slow levelling are not doing the dailies :P
I believe they do stack if you have two passives (sigils) of the same type on both main hand and off hand.
Hmm not sure, I recall trying it a few months back and not getting 2 stacks per kill, but I could be mistaken.
It definitely doesn’t work with the passives that give +stat%
Probably best to just go visit them and log in on their computer.
Do they have any mmo experience you could compare GW2 to? If they aren’t even interested maybe forcing it won’t help…
yep all sigils with a cooldown, share it.
None of the sigils stack, and ones with cooldowns will trigger for both (so you can only ever get one)
So it’s usually a good idea to have one passive and one cooldown sigil.
since when were necros squishy :p
It’s pretty hard to die, unless you have some glass cannon build without the skill to keep yourself out of trouble.
Hint: if you’re not good enough to stay alive, get some defensive abilities/stats.
I am saddened to discover that the night is half as long as the day :/ There are items that rely on the night, and they aren’t even up for half the day? T_T
either way, night needs to be a lot darker, if they’re going to make it so short :/
WHAT?! The movement is so slick, you can do complicated jumping puzzles at a full run, so responsive.
You move slower in combat because out of combat is like mounted/travel speed. If you want to move the same speed in combat, use swiftness
I also love how only running forward is the fastest, it means you have to be more tactical with your movement, not just circle strafe like some vehicle with a turret.
I love my Charr, and you can’t help the separatists because going back to war means we lose to the dragons. :P
Parsee said it, people don’t feel good being nerfed, even though the net result of everyone else being buffed is a reduction in relative power, it doesn’t feel as bad as having something taken away directly.
Better to buff everyone than to nerf something overpowered. It’s psychology.
I’m optimistic that they won’t break the class completely, maybe they’ll give us more damage to offset any survivability nerf.
just press escape if you accidentally cast something
elemental rifle please if only because it might lead to something with 1500 range :p
invulnerability never seems to do anything against the environment in my experience, I may be wrong though, I rarely use focus
Elite zones are the best idea, in TSW there are “Lairs” in each zone that have incredibly strong enemies, which are the bastion of whichever enemy dominates that map.
Think about how the karka were quite difficult, if there was more to do in southsun it could be the first of any elite zone.
I think the DE system is GW2’s greatest asset and having more content for it (and more outdoor dungeons, since looting isn’t horrible like in other games in the open world) would play to gw2’s strengths.
I haven’t been in a dungeon in ages (even though i really like the armour) because of the fun i’ve been having in the open dungeons/jp etc :p
DEs that will kill a disorganised group just need to be more common at the end of chains, so that only the best can fully clear a zone.
Vapor Form is pretty awesome
Charr frown upon magic, they aren’t anti magic
They aren’t stupid.
It makes sense that they would be more subtle or hidden in their magic use (crafting traditional technology with magical materials) rather than being blatant about their magic like the Asura are.
It doesn’t break any immersion for me anyway 250 years is a long time and the paths the races took makes perfect sense.
lightning hammer spams aoe blindness almost as fast as enemies attack, makes most situations easy Combine that with glyph of storms in earth also spamming blindness, you are quite unhittable.
Dagger/Focus has lots of defence too, just carefully read all your skills and traits and think about how they work together (protection is a nice boon to have, boon duration is great)
Well apparently it’ll load enemies before friendlies, this seems like it’d work in pve as well as it’ll work in pvp.
Would be nice to change crit damage stat to something like “Intensity” and make it affect condition damage in some way, and add some more mobs with the high toughness trait.
Precision already helps some condition builds due to crit procs, so that doesn’t need a change really :p
My inability to burn environmental objects makes me sad.
TP is already global so the economy won’t be affected, the dungeon issue really makes me sad though.
Some chests you have to open slowly, when some seem to open instantly. They should all have the timer to prevent runby looting.
Yes everyone can play together, there are no factions
Guesting >>>>>> free server transfers.
kross, most powerful is ascended :p
So many different builds, I have a totally different playstyle on each of my alts Though my main being ele just means i’m super flexible, my alts are mostly for the different armour looks, I’m a fashion seeker :P
Love the game , wish my friends would stop playing lol so much :p Hopefully the pvp updates will help. It just wasn’t any fun to not be able to join as a group
I’d rather have this skill occupy my elite skill slot. I would actually be able to utilize it occasionally then :p
Yep like the warbanner – which works I might add.
It’s best to just spend some time really reading the abilities and traits, looking for what makes them synergise, it’s quite rewarding in the end, it’s not like you’ll get booted from anything as long as you don’t die constantly, just have fun getting to know your class
If you like something, then take traits and gear to boost that. On my warrior i love the support aspect for example, so it’d be silly to take the 5 signet greatsword build :P
Day/Night cycle in firefall is amazing, would be nice if anet had a look at it.
Torches can light our way, so let us play with light. (you can buy torches for a few copper in the charr starting zone too, make them a general merchant item.)
Maybe even add a mechanic in certain areas (like in the water fractal) where if you have no light, monsters attack you.
