Get 5 people together and do it.
Cazzt, it’s 90% good mannered advice, where is this elitism?
And to Lich, if you’re still reading the thread, if you don’t like moving in combat, final fantasy 14 is having a pretty cool rerelease soon and that game might be more your cup of tea, you seem like you have the mind in the right place but not the reflexes. I know many people with dyspraxia and it’s super frustrating for them to play these fast games too. If you could record a typical mob fight and upload it we could help (if you have access to anything like twitch/livestream/fraps/youtube etc)
When it comes to being able to facetank though, warriors probably have the easiest job, start out with pure vit gear if you can, take monsters one at a time (my ele was very squishy when I started (3 hits at most) but after getting to know my abilities intimately its very hard to die – (d/d auramancer, sue me))
Also grouping isn’t the worst idea, just get some friends together and have fun If you ever end up on Aurora Glade I’d be happy to help, my endgame is helping new players :p
Don’t be silly, punishing legit players to get a few that are breaking the rules is a bad idea.
Anet are doing a great job combatting the game-breaking aspects of rmt.
Elites. That’s mainly what I want from gw1, the whole elite thing from gw1 was fantastic. (Having elite carrying veterans in wvw would be nice too, not just in the pve world)
Anet could add it to the scavenger hunt mechanic wink, nudge
I still have hope that elites will end up becoming more integral to a build.
Also having my last 5 skills being totally flexible if I wanted 5 utilities with no heal or elite, that’d be fun (maybe a terrible idea, but interesting :P)

d/d can be used in different ways, it’s a close ranger set.
I love the fire elemental in metrica, love tequatl the sunless, the effigy boss in cof exp would be nice if it did more damage faster :p
January sales are a thing.
I enjoy it even more post 80, having all the traits and nice runes/sigils is a lot more fun than the levelling :p
Glad you’re having fun Nova
Grind is something you have to do to get to the fun, nobody is forcing you to do dailies.
Eles are not weak.
Powerful auras is amazing, look at the synergy.
Also D/D is 30 water very often. Staff has 2 auras and you can always use arcane wave
We’re not slow in combat :p
They should just make pve more like pvp if they don’t want to split the skills. I think it’s nice when i’m in pve and the ranged mobs run out of my feedback and don’t attack when i put up a counter-block. This needs to be more common (on the intelligent enemy types ofcourse)
visiting 30 jp is way more fun than 7 fractals with my finnicky connection :/
You generally get less chat in games that require more effort to play, I can chat if i’m autoattacking, but in these more action oriented modern mmos it can be hard to get a space to chat.
Sometimes I relish the few times I get to use my autorun key :p
I remember when people had to sit around a campfire and spend time eating, a little downtime isn’t such a horrible thing imo…
I used to have issues with stuns, now I use stun breakers, no more issues. You can change your utilities for a reason, different situations require different approaches.
If an enemy type is exceptionally dangerous in large groups, grouping them up is a silly idea right?
If you REALLY want to group up a bunch of stunning mobs, bring some stability. Just like you bring condition removal to condition spamming situations.
@Tigirius In gw2 you can dodge for immunity to further stuns after you use your stun breaker (use a hotkey not the double-tap)
They want the set of dyes each character gets to be personal, like a signature of said character.
And Atherakhia, you can pop into pvp to check how your character plays at 80 if you’re having second thoughts while levelling.
That’s pretty lame
Your name also can’t reference real life people. Have some originality with your name, it’s not hard.
Blind immunity makes me cry T_T
People that say gw2 is a grind have never played games with an actual grind.
When I log in I just play what I find fun and log out happy :p
it was stolen by skritt ‘cause you weren’t watching it.
Things do disappear if you aren’t guarding them in real life too :P
GCleonardo, are you high?
The “deposit collectible” button being greyed out is the biggest taunt of all…
Still they only stack to 250 and you can’t even buy anything with only 250, they should stack higher :p
I’ve yet to see a commander that didn’t help greatly in WvW. Who is going to spend 100g on something they don’t want to use?
Half the time rallying around a commander is all you need to get enough people together to get things done, if they have good orders even better.
Yeah the radiation field is also awesome, but as an ele the golems are outclassed by my elementals. There’s also a very powerful ele build that relies on norn racial to be devastating :p
I just wish nothing was soulbound/account bound, let people sell anything, coming from EVE online it’s jarring having all this useless stuff that other people want and being unable to sell it :/
You get buffs from wvw, you should come help out a couple times a month :p
if dying is expensive, die less.
I know there are good lore reasons for asura and charr lack of diversity, but Arenanet advertised that we’d be getting a choice in how our armour would look. I would like my asura to be able to choose to look a little more feminine, my guild has very few asura, plenty of reason for their fashion to influence mine :p
more events like lyssa then, I really loved that one.
Yes please, more town clothes of all kinds is a great idea
I think when anet finally fix turrets and kits using your stats engis will start to shine. It’s the bugs that beat the class into submission imo..
You can change your majors, that’s enough to mix up your strategy.
I’d be happy with a hotkey to open my traits, so I can do it more quickly.
I imagine the reasoning is that +65% speed all the time is overpowered.
Vissarion, I think the shields from runes don’t count for our trait procs. (I may be wrong..)
Splody: you also get 2 seconds of fury every time you switch attunements (which is quite often as you know), and as a boon it lasts longer the more points you have in arcane, and you’ll probably be using boon duration runes/food
(edited by emikochan.8504)
Hotkeys Forzani, remember gw2 has no gcd
Now that sigils work with kits, does that mean the on-weapon-swap energy recharge sigil is triggered by changing to a kit ?
Soulbound items are silly, everything should be sellable.
swapping atunements is the only way for us to provide the group with boons.
Auras and runes can also provide the group with boons.
Sure you weren’t blinded?
I don’t even care if it means a few people that didn’t contribute a huge amount get rewards, the people that ARE contributing should 100% get the rewards…
I don’t even care if a warrior runs by and buffs everyone with 4 banners and gets participation, those banners really help the group. Ressing anyone really helps the group and many boons are a sideeffect of getting involved anyway (they aren’t very long)
I’m just struggling to see where ressing/buffing/supporting is exploitable without helping the damage dealers.
Ironically, if you group with people in a party, their damage is factored into your reward, so you can support and res and do damage where you can and get full reward – so the mechanic for rewarding supportive play is already there, Anet just need to apply it to the dynamic grouping system.
If you want groups make a group, it’s not hard to collect a few people if you open your mouth :p You can do everything with just 5 people.
I had a feeling ascended gear would break things, meh :p
Not seen any since beta wvw
My ele only became super fun at 80, trait/rune/sigil synergy is just a huge deal on all classes for me anyway.
The good ones you will only buy to slot into 80 exotics, unless you’re swimming in gold :P
Funny comment about overconfidence too, though it usualy works if they don’t have immobilise T_T mobility is life.
I guess red circles prioritising the furthest players would fix most of the issues people are having.
The healing is not low if you take into account the fact that you can cast protection and inflict weakness, that’s a massive reduction in incoming damage (if you are PURELY facetanking)
my lightning hammer asura auramancer can melee fine because of these interactions, all while spamming blast finishers for mass healing if someone throws down a water field.
If you think support is lacking in gw2 you need to do some research and communicate more.
Elementalist. (With daggers)
I think when anet add more weapons and utilities to the classes (I think this is inevitable) it’ll build in complexity like its predecessor.
Also allowing right and left handed dual wielding, having 3 focus and 2 scepter skills for example could add a whole new set of skills without even adding weapons to the class.
Fleshing out mesmer for example with a dual pistol option, shields could also be interesting.
Giving the ele conjures a more solid role like engi kits would add 4 more weapons to ele (and give us arcane swords, just ’cause I want to be the magicka)
Pistols and guns for rangers, daggers for engis, melee staffs for warriors, add ALL melee weapons to the underwater set (no reason they shouldn’t work underwater, if with some changes)
And last but not least, make elites part of our normal repertoire. The league of legends style ult just isn’t very compelling for a game like guild wars imo. The gw1/secret world style of elite is just fun for build creation.
But yes, most of the pve is a bit easy, you should be forced to learn by more complex AI (would be one reason to make my freakin shatterstone hit faster if even mobs would walk out of the aoe.)
