a 4 month old game can’t offer “more” than an 8 year old one, the excel it has to be different. We just need a dungeon finder. mounts are a waste of time, we run faster outside of combat. Addons are what happens when you have a worthless ui, better to improve the ui for everyone.
ele hp is fine, with so much regen and protection ehp is larger than you think
Structures need to take at least some kinds of conditions :/ Immunity to bleed/blind/confuse makes sense, but poison could be acid, burning makes sense, so does vuln…
More heavy armour enemies (since conditions ignore armour) would be nice too.
And those stacks… why even have a limit…It’s as stupid as the aoe limit.
I’m yet to encounter any damage that couldn’t be avoided or mitigated, OP needs to learn their class.
Would be nice to have an mmo with mob physics, they can knock me off a cliff.
Give them wings or climbing claws or something if you don’t want them to fall
Its best to just rebind to something comfortable, you’ll get used to it. You don’t look at the buttons to press the hotkeys anyway, you’ll associate your hotkey with an ability, not with its position.
Well in water you just take less fall damage :p
It’s just like water evasive arcana. I guess it’s the same code.
I think removing the aoe limit would be the best thing to happen to gw2, if the zerg can’t stop you getting into a position where you can aoe everyone, they don’t deserve to be immune from the damage.
I get more use out of my radiation field than the water field, and that’s like a necro field :P AoE weakness and poison is just so handy for an ele imo.
<3 my ele nothing else comes close for fun
some really stunning sets here :o just wow. I need to farm more :P
I’m really enjoying a support warrior with shouts and banners (and longbow for blasts and burning, sword/shield for bleeds and tankiness – cripples and immobs on both to protect party)
When someone puts a water field down i can drop 5 blasts into it for massive healing, I rolled my ele to support so support warrior is really fun and quite complex, having to remember the cooldowns on each banner and the alternate weapon is slightly reminiscent of ele.
I really want to play a necro though, probably because they are apparently underpowered, like people thought ele was, I like playing underdog classes :P

As a female asura, i rejoiced when i found the winter town outfit actually had a skirt and made me look feminine. I am tired of only having male clothes on asura toons.
So much this T_T I don’t mind having the option to be wearing neutral clothing but I’d like some more feminine options on my Asura
Bring the player not the class, I am never playing a game again where I can’t play just because I chose a profession people don’t like in the meta.
you can put the skins from your current nice looking weapons onto the crafted ascended weapons that will eventually be craftable.
I just want more clothing options T_T
I prefer the supportive role to a whack-a-mole role.
Anyone that says this game is pure grind has never played a grinding game.
Adding brand new stuff would have been a terrible mistake, i’m pretty happy with the direction anet seem to want to take – I just want january to hurry up :P
WvW is a part of the existing world and needs a lot of work, same with sPvP which is skeletal – feature wise.
XanBie is right, making existing dungeons play the way fractals do (no res rushing) would fix a lot of the percieved easyness.
All game forums are full of negativity, because the people having fun are playing. Also you only ever get about 10% of a game’s population ever going near the forums, so that also skews it.
Nobody would raid without epics.
Better big meta events is a good idea though. Maybe 8 person dungeons again.
I’m hopeful elites will be changed back into powerful utilities, not blue moon button presses, and we’ll get more utilities in general.
I’m also hopeful that the existing weapons will be spread out across all classes, make a skill for every weapon for every class, I think that would bring back some of the cross class feel, without making a balance nightmare.
Still I think we should have 5 utility slots, let us equip 3 heals if we feel like having terrible utility but good survivability :P (with more good utilities this wouldn’t be a no brainer)
All round though I love gw2 (combat is so smooth and responsive), but the secret world does the dual class deckbuilding even better than gw1 did :P
They are already accountable.
i love orr, because it’s oppressive. Reading this thread its like people want it to be happy bunny land or something.
about 4/500 hours
Why do people “wait for it to open” Get a group together and open it -_-
I do think aoe caps are silly. maybe reduce the damage/healing/duration, but not the number of people affected…
not many guilds are that big i guess :p
the new dances are indeed terrible, I’ve always hated having contemporary dances in fantasy games, the music style for the current dances doesn’t even exist in the world :/
That’s the whole point of the commander system :p
Ready check is a good idea though, it’s already in place in fractals, it seems the fractal system is a prototype for a new dungeon system.
the next new class is probably going to be heavy armour since there are only 2 heavies… also indeed won’t work unless it works for every race.
There are plenty of professions from gw1 that would be a better idea than trying to reinvent the wheel with a whole new one :p
Just write it down on a piece of paper :P
Conjures remove 3 of our attunements worth of spells :p And if you drop it, it’s gone, 60 sec cooldown.
Still there are bugs on all classes, I don’t think it’s worth being paranoid, they’ll fix stuff eventually, the bugs aren’t really confusable with features (aside evasive arcana – RIP)
and dyeable weapons please… even if its a separate type of dye
Yes please, I agree.
I think you could get this effect by adding a trait that causes damage when you cure a condition, similar to how confusion makes you not want to use skills, disease could make you not want to cure conditions as it could do damage based on the number of conditions removed.
I don’t think removing stacks is the best idea with the current system, unless higher stacks was multiplicative instead of additive.
i’d love to be able to hug etc, it seems very annoying I can’t even target a wave at someone.
Yeah the disappearing loot and chests is a silly idea, it’s instanced! why can’t it stay til you’re ready to pick it up…
+1
There’s definitely room in the current system for higher difficulty, so you don’t need to complain about lack of trinity (as if tanks healers really make it more complex – i raided for years in wow and it wasn’t any more inherently complex than gw – mostly because of the huge buffs to threat generation)
anet just needs to focus on what gw is good at, movement, reactions, punishing mistakes.
GW needs more council style fights, the system is built around pvp, so the pve should be heading more in that direction. Having big single bosses is a trinity leftover.
Or make a boss that doubles your endurance regen and the only defence is dodging :P. There’s still space for complexity without changing the game’s fundamentals.
@DreamOfACure
to be fair the little text under the bosses lifebar is usually enough information on the mechanics, but there’s nothing wrong with a little trial and error needed to beat a boss, it can be frustrating but when you finally win it’s great.
Generally the class ability doesn’t have many traits around it. For example the ele attunements gets 1 trait that gives a boon on use and 1 that gives an effect (for each attunement seperately)
Warriors, do they even get anything that changes burst skills?
That class mechanics are flavour, and toolbelts are nothing like attunements (kits are)
Engineers have issues but I think it’s a numbers issue not a flexibility one (kits not being affected by your stats!)
I think once all the bugs are fixed then we can look at how lacking our class is or not :P
yes please to fluff Anet have attracted an audience that is more into aesthetics than gearscore, so maybe we would like to do more then just fight.. who knows :p
We have the home instance but it does nothing, at least the framework is there to be worked on.
Fishing would be nice, an activity where you can stop for a moment and talk to people! I would love to talk more in gw2 but the average gameplay is so intense, you can’t type during cast times for example.
The only thing you need ascended gear for is fractals. So if you’re doing fractals you’ll get the ascended.
If not, you don’t even need it anyway.
@avatar /rank
Anything Asuran is my favourite.
I love jumping puzzles, feel like I’m actually exploring – specially with my guild
Welcome I can’t even go back to standing still to cast anymore…
Also being able to put a lot of conditions on the mobs is a great support, with weakness/chill/vulnerability the enemies become much more manageable.
I hope mounts are never added. I’d rather they just locked you in the room with the boss in dungeons so you can’t graveyard zerg it. (like in fractals)
my ele can tank fine, large protection uptime, aoe blind on every third attack, lots of dodges and self sustain, and I only have 10 points in earth, it’d be even better with more in earth.
Without a controllable agro system, tanking doesn’t require you to hold mobs on you, just to keep them away from the group til their defensive cds come back up.
The ele can do gw2 tanking easily.
You’ll have enough fun to justify the cost, definitely. Specially with a friend you can build for combos and stuff
spvp is severely lacking in features, though apparently there’s a big feature patch coming at the end of jan/beginning of feb…
