It has nothing to do with greed. RNG is just a terrible system as it creates an unfair playing field due to being completely based on random chance. If skins could be acquired through skill, say by winning tickets through the playing and winning of Dragon Ball matches or being a top 3 player x many times, it would be far more satisfying as you have stuff to look forward to that is achieveable if you put in a bit of effort and acquire skill.

RNG causes some people to get 3 weapon tickets after having acquired 25 boxes and others to have none after 500+ opened chests.

That is kind of ignorant to assume and a bad attempt at invalidating what I wrote. I wrote exactly what we were told though that we should be able to complete dailies by “playing the game how we want” – By playing how we want, one must assume an average players online for maybe 2 hours on an average day. I’m pretty sure just about no one comes online for 2 hours to go kill 30 mobs in Shiverpeaks, then go kill 10 people in WvW, then do a dungeon, then eat 25 foods and go craft 10 items. Dailies should be a smaller thing. If you come online for 2 hours to kill some people in WvW and cap a few camps, maybe a tower that should be a daily. If you go do 3 explorable dungeons, maybe even a few different ones, then that should be a daily.

Try comparing it to daily PvP (which awards you a much easier laurel) – No matter how you play PvP you WILL get the daily. You can’t not finish 3 matches if you stick with a game. Capturing points and getting kills are pretty much tkittenence of PvP. You are rewarded for playing daily.

PvE does not do this. You have to do very specific things to complete the daily and time investment is way higher than PvP (Usually).

I don’t have the data of the majority – but I believe most play PVE. A simple, short diversion on their daily routine won’t hurt – trust me, I know. I have work and can only play a few hours a day.

You are taking the “play the way we want” too literally. I play usually by chatting – so I guess ANet should make a daily task “Type 100 letters on a chatbox” eh? I also play by jumping from high places, guess ANet should make a daily task “Fall 1000ft or more”.

I believe the “play the way we want” is like general slaughtering monsters/do pve content, going to wvwvw, dungeon, pvp.

The dailies are a problem. They are meant to award you for “playing how you want to play”. Being online several hours a day I rarely get 5/9 dailies from playing how I want to play which includes doing most of the world bosses (Kills, veterans, mentor, kills in area X) and doing explorable dungeons (dungeon daily). I do not like WvW zergfest which is 2/9 every day and I certainly don’t eat 25 foods or use the toilet 5 times a day. Dailies ARE forced if you want laurels – But that is okay because they award you for how you want to play.. Oh wait.

I’ll summarize for you:

“I do not want to do effort but I want reward.”

or if you feel like a boss:

“I want to do what I want to do and net the reward I want.”

I want a legendary but has no time/patience to do one so, well, I just think I’ll have it sometime. lol

I don’t really care much about ascended – hence I don’t do FoTM (stuck at level 4 lol)

Now if you really want the BiS gear, make time. If you can’t because of whatever priorities, deal with it. It’s how the world works.

People now sounds like entitled “I want this but it doesn’t fit my style, modify it to fit my style”. I mean, dude, there are certain sacrifices that one should make in order to get what someone wants.

I would use me as an example: I want a legendary. Not just those easy to get, but I specifically want the Twilight or Flameseeker. For me, that’s my endgame. I don’t have time, I have work. I have little time to play weekdays. Do I whine about how hard it is getting them? No. I deal with it. I have other important things to do. I play when I can, thus get what is equal to the time I played.

I have the luxury of time, I was just using it as an example. But I will try to answer as best as I can.

The thing with your “deal with it” analogy, is that nothing would ever change. Should those that want harder content, just deal with it cause the game doesn’t cater to their play style? Should those that dislike all the RNG just deal with it, cause the game doesn’t favor their opinion? If everyone just “dealt with it”, then nothing will ever get changed and no one would be happy. Everyone’s feedback is just as important as the next person. The game should always offer an alternative for different play styles.

But dailies go against that idea. Locking gear behind a time-gated content doesn’t cater to different styles. There are no alternatives, it is the only way to obtain the gear. There is no other way. While other options in this game have alternatives, dailies do not. They are a requirement for those that want the BiS gear.

We shouldn’t have to change our daily lives just to cater to a video game. There should be alternatives for players to do the things they want to do, instead of being gated behind a single thing in order for them to progress.

The deal-with-it was for this scenario. Now, who said that you will need to change your daily life with this?

I mean, again, if you could do it – do it. If you can’t because of some more important hindrance – well, you’ll have to choose.

It’s real life – you get to choose – you get to decide. You don’t try to complain when nothing is wrong and is working as intended. It’s not a bug – it’s a feature. If they are going to add more sources of Laurels, good. For now, if you want the ascended – divert your time a little to do dailies – most of which can be done in 20 minutes – which I doubt would destroy your entire day’s worth of playing.

I call BS. These things mostly happen naturally. Maybe at the end of my play session I have to finish one in a couple of minutes, but usually I finish the daily without even thinking about it.

And no I don’t think you’re playing wrong. I think you’re exhausted all the content. It’s like any game when you’ve exhausted the content. You get bored. How many hours have you played OP?

Not everyone plays the same as you though.

Why assume everyone is running around areas randomly, doing dailies along the way? Everyone’s play style is different. Not everyone is constantly running around zones randomly to do their dailies as they come about. And not everyone can play for hours straight, just picking up their dailies as they go.

Some people are only running dungeons. They have to go out of their way to do dailies. Or those in WvW or SPvP. They have to do the same thing. Or how about those that only have a couple hours to play a day? They have to go out of their way to get it done before they log off.

For those that want the best gear in the game, they have to do the dailies every day to get it. And most the time for those people, they have to go out of their way to do it. So in order for them to progress, they have to do dailies. Which ends up being their “endgame” cause it’s the only way to get the gear.

So while you spend all your time roaming around the world randomly, taking care of your dailies at a leisurely pace, others are having to go out of their way to get them done so they can progress. We don’t all have the luxury of time, nor do we all have the same play style.

Whether you feel the wings flap too much, not enough, whatever is personal preference. Some might prefer them stationary, like the op. Some might like them, but think they flap too fast. Others might like them as they are, and yet still others might think they need a little more flap.

My solution? Give us a slider bar to adjust how fast they flap, or even if they flap at all. Makes everybody happy.

But I doubt it’ll happen. They know they can’t please everybody – so unless the flapping speed affects majority – deal with it. :p

Guardian is also my first serious character – survived with crafting on 25. Yes, 25.

How? Farmed Orichalcum Ores along with Mithril Ores. :p Might not be the fastest, but it’s enough to buy an exotic a day back then.

Also, we can run AC – it’s harder than before, but not impossible. I suggest you watch youtube videos about some dungeon runs or find a group/guild you’re comfortable with.

I think you have the same miscomprehension that I had about guesting.
It doesn’t matter how many times you log in and out. When you pick a server to guest, you can log there as many times as you want during the 24 hours and with as many characters as you like. Only one at a time, of course.

At any time, you can have two servers chosen for guesting. You cannot guest on a third one until the time has run out. When you want to guest on a server with your suitcase next to it, you just need to tell it again you want to guest.

You’re right. Until you’re in any group play where the needs of the 4 other players far outweigh your needs to MF leech, be in cleric gear or whatever.

You’ll figure that out when you are sitting in the city spamming for a group and can’t find one.

Why don’t you just go “+4 dungeon train” in /g and have a full party within a minute?

But no. Instead – they only look for berserker – no soldiers, no others (not even sure if they would allow knights). And they specifically look for a class now.

How cool is that? I need to either create a zerker warrior/mesm to play/farm?
