Do Hearts of other areas. On Divinity’s Reach, there is a portal to Lion’s Arch, on which there are portals to other race’s homes (The Grove for Sylvari, Black Citadel for Charr, Hoelbrak for Norn and Rata Sum for Asura). They also have areas for levels 1-15 like Queensdale for Humans.
Another is you could join the “zerg” running around Queensdale for events. This should net exp pretty fast especially on weekeneds, where there are tons of players roaming.
Because the achievement should be:
80 of each profession, per race, per gender.
lol. jk.
This achievement (the one described by OP) would be great.
Oh for crying out loud.
ANet can change the game’s direction as they see fit whether you like it or not. It’s their game. I am not telling people to stop suggesting or something, but clinging to an old design, really?
If the old design doesn’t match what majority of people like, what the current trend is or doesn’t promote the gameplay longetivity to the masses and doesn’t promote income – they will change it.
They are a company for god’s sake – they will want to earn as much as they can. They are not a charity to make people happy all the time.
Making their customers happy should be on their priority list. If the customers aren’t happy then they aren’t going to make ‘all the money they can.’
3335 Hours over the past 9 months.
So many hours. I’ve only got ~300 over 11 months. How do you find the time to play?
On a side note, some simple math calculates that to 9-10 hours a day.[/quote]
Quote is somewhat broke, so here’s my response.
You can’t please everyone. So, they’ll please the majority instead.
aaaaaaaaand OP’s gone.
If not that’s an extremely stupid gameplay decision and will probably make me quit again as that’s money wasted basically.
What’s extremely stupid is not reading item descriptions and screen-locking warnings on a thing before you use it, then complaining it’s working exactly as it told you it would. The items you bought tell you exactly what they do, and when you use the skin they, once again, tell you exactly what is going to happen.
Anything else was your erroneous assumption. Don’t make those.
Your option now is transmutation. You can use the extremely cheap Transmutation Crystals for gear bellow lvl 80, and you save your gear and use Transmutation Stones to transfer their looks to level 80 gear. You can do this as much as you want. Or you can quit. That’s your call.
Either ways, it’s your fault.
It’s NOT extremely cheap though. Those crystals are 125 gems for 5, and to get continually use the skins while upgrading me gear I’ll be out of gems by the time I’m level 30-40. Also none of the item descriptions/warnings allude I just assumed they meant it was soulbound to the character and I didn’t really mind that. Just the very deceptive description. A helpful disclaimer saying it’s more suited to level 80 players would’ve been awesome and tell me exactly what I wanted too know.
I also can’t seriously believe people are defending arenanet for this though. It’s downright scummy, even Blizzard allowed those cosmetic items to be account-wide. I already paid £25 for this game, plus £15 for the gems. If anything it’s NCSoft showing their puppet strings.
You know you can get the Yellow transmutation stones via completing maps (especially city maps) right?
Also, we’re not defending ANet. It’s clearly written on how the item works. If you did not read it, it’s your fault. ANet and Blizzard are 2 different companies – they have different game designs.
I understand you are frustrated, but reality-wise, no one is to blame but you.
And to answer your topic title: With your attitude of not reading – yes, you are screwed.
Guys, check your ping. I called my ISP and after they sent a tech, my lag/dc issues were gone.
Also, try to avoid using wireless connection when playing. Interference happens.
Oh for crying out loud.

Necromancer – I haven’t used one that went past level 10, so can’t say.
Warrior – Hundred Blades. Win.
Guardian – Like a tank. 10 yrs to kill.
Thief – Stealth. Stealth and Stealth.
Ranger – Underpowered but has good range using traited Longbow.
Elementalist – Piano lesson.
Engineer – I never made it past level 5. Sorry
Mesmer – Cool skills, Portal very helpful. Level 30 skill truly helpful.
The probable reason is that you’re not a majority. I’m not discriminating or something (I have a colorblind friend who plays gw2) but there are probably more “pressing” issues to fix, more “heavy weighted” content to add – that this matter is not much of a concern.
Again, this is not a discrimination or mocking. My friend adapted to GW2 – he’s a better player than me to be honest. :p
But still, I hope they fix – let the game have a checkbox to toggle colorblind gaming on or off..
Is this thread a joke? All I see is Vanye Vanye Vanye. No Dev clarification either.
At what point do they consider a poster guilty of Spamming and then lock a thread on those grounds too? Why have posting Standards at all if they’re not going to be enforced consistently?Look at the top of this page for instance. …anyone else who was caught BACK TO BACK TO BACK “Chain” replying would be infracted for it.
I don’t think it’s spamming if someone is merely replying to some other’s post in a straight way…
I heard some people doing that but I haven’t experienced it myself.
just go post something like “lfg <insert dungeon and path> – no class/gear requirement”
Zerk gear kills faster than most gears since GW2 has no diverse damage source (ie: Magic, Physical, etc…) and the mobs has little to no damage mitigation (ie: Resistant to Physical – which would make crits do less damage and conditions more damage, thus diversifying the builds required)
If you people are complaining about grind on GW2 – you either haven’t played other MMO’s – or you paid your way on it.
I mean, everything is easy on GW2 (okay, except probably Legendaries). Yes, there are time gated content, but hey, all you’ll do is wait.
I don’t mean to flame – I am just wondering why tons of people are seeing the grind. I might be missing something – I don’t know.
im really botherd by this…. Anet why not keep track of this somewhere?
+1
public void justToGetFifteenChars(){
system.out.println(“15 chars”);
}
When will this end? I had my ISP send a tech at my house just to figure out it’s not an ISP related issue… :|
It was NOT like this a month ago…
If you say get a precursor that sells for 500+g (spark at 520g now) why would you undercut sellers. Sure most of the precursors will sell but youre missing out on a lot of profit. I was recently looking at the spark because i want to make my legendary and i jsut saw people missing out by undercutting almost 25g. Why would someone do this.
To sell their’s faster?
Dungeons are supposed to be hard. They should be promoting teamwork, not zerging till you win.
Limitations?
There should be a workaround here on their codes. I mean, it’s their codes… :|
Have you guys updated the firewall settings within your router and in your virus protection? I had this too, and that resolved it for me.
\\
I disabled mine for the sake of troubleshooting – nogo…
Why not let people choose?
At the start of the week, let them select one: Weekly or Daily – selection is permanent for that week and if they select Daily, they cannot do the Weekly and vice versa…
Sorry to hijack your thread bro. But I’m also experiencing the same since 2 weeks ago.
Almost unplayable – I lag especially when I’m in an instance – like Story or Dungeon. -_-
I ran the GW2 diagnostics, ping on their IP is like 300ms. :\
Simple question really, do seeing a person with a legendary make you go like; “Ohhh!”, are you indifferent, or another reaction?
Is there any reputation on getting one?
Would you go for it for the reputation or for the looks?
If it became harder/easier would you appreciate it more/less?
If you do appreciate something from legendaries or its users, what is it?
-Yes
-No
-Yes – Looks
-Easier – Less
-Most on my server don’t brag about it and most on the PUG I ran are not elitist despite having one.
Both of you made “ethical” mistakes. You should have notified them of the event – it’s not required, but it’s the norm, and they should have not trash-talked you as well.
Well, lesson learned – though it’s kinda one sided since I doubt they are reading the forums. Remember that this is a MMO – your action affects others too.
They are “inconveniencing” you? how?
Country – Philippines
ISP: PLDT
Last week, after patch.
I do… /15 chars
I would not worry about it. I live in a country whose summers rise up to 38C and I got mediocre fans, stock cooling fan on my processor (the one that came with it), stock cooling fan on my video card and stock cooling fan on my PSU – PC’s almost up everyday, no issues.
Anyways, either get better cooling system for your pc or try to download “GameBooster” – I used it on my old netbook to play some simple games. What it does is, it let’s you select some background process to disable, making more “memory” available for games.
I mean, at rediculous times – when I’m inside a dungeon, when I’m doing story, when I am killing a quest…
But when I am whacking some random mob – it’s fine 70% of the time. I can get to normal websites just fine – forums is fast too, youtube is fast – so I’m willing to bet it’s not my ISP.
PC spec wise – mine can run Crysis 3 without lag at ultra, Tomb Raider at High.. So it’s not my pc.
:\
I don’t get it… you can run Tomb Raider on high which is a console port and far from the most demanding game (especially when tressfx is off) but you can max the most demanding game on the market, crysis 3?
When I run Tomb Raider on Ultra, I get dizzy after a few hours.
My PC can run it no problem, but I can’t. lol
Okay… I pinged some of their servers (? i just found it on network path) and I have 300+ms ping, compared to google’s 24ms using CMD.
Wuuuut? Whyy?
(
Aw. I thought China gets a different GW2. lol
I wish they’d stop focusing everything on LA. I like the Grove a lot more and would love to use the Mystic Forge there and everything else I wanna do in LA there instead.
They should put in events like:
Save the Grove, Save the Black Citadel, Divinity’s Reach under siege….
My lag just extended to outside dungeons. :|
I don’t know if this is related, but just incase.
Me and some of my guildies from Australia and US are also experiencing heavy lag and frequent disconnects, but we all agree we did not suffer from such problems prior to the Sky Pirates of Tyria content. Before that we were mostly fine, but every patch release afterwards has made our experience more and more unstable.
Yes, that’s what I observed as well.
Game has been barely playable for me most of the time.
And I’m from South East Asia…
-Remove Trahearne
-Character will be the one to bring the 3 orders together
-Since Character is associated with one of the 3 orders, the new Pact will be “council” led – and the heads are the Destiny’s Edge + character – with equal ranks with each other.
-Make Zhaitan fight more epic. Airship will crash and the pact will fight him on the ground
After the Zhaitan fight – people across Tyria will bow to hero when he/she passes.
At times the game is almost unplayable. As others have said, with each patch, it seems to get worse and worse. GW2 is the only game I have problems with. Very stable high speed internet connection and PC with more then enough resources for the game. I can play other online games with out any issues at all, but GW2 seems to “pause” every few seconds so even the most basic of fights is difficult. Trying to pick up loot? I sometimes have to try hitting the F key several times. I am on the East Coast of the US if it makes a difference.
Mine doesn’t pause. My character still moves. Problem is, only mine is moving. Once it “resumes” – poof! Everything is moving like “The Flash”, which unfortunately, so does the mob damage – chances are, I’m dead.
It’s extremely annoying. :|

I do. Got kicked out of AC 3x already
I cannot finish one of my story mission because I get disconnected on the same spot (I’m doing the Vigil quest – where they are attacked and when I’m on the catapult, DC. happened more than 5x already since yesterday )
Just let them put in big shoulders/more shoulder skins.
If you don’t like them, don’t buy them. It’s a win-win for both sides.
PS:
I personally don’t like bulky shoulder gear.
Just put a boss and mob at each dungeon that is almost immune to normal damage and takes 300% damage from conditions. Make sure this boss/mob is unskippable.
It’s easy when people listen… Unfortunately, most don’t…
Some on top of my head:
43 can run AC. Run AC.
Do heart quests.
If your server is active on WvWvW, participate.
Crafting (expensive though)
Or… add additional backs to our characters.
/thread – 15chars
Dont nerf CoF until they have added another farming spot (Like the old CS farming…) I really enjoyed the CS farming, but is just… UGH NO THANKS
Wow… just wow…
“Gimme back mah afk stationary bot farm. Best fix ever.”
You are what is wrong with this generation of video games…
Best quote I’ve ever seen in the forums. lol
Ascended items are available in fractals, dailies, guild missions AND achievements. That’s at least 3-4 ascended items in a month of fairly casual, non-grinding gameplay.
You cannot get backpieces without grinding FotM, they are not available anywhere else. You need to either grind Factals for the rings, or you will need 100 laurels for rings and the amulet, not to mention the 100 ectos for the accessories.
This goes directly against what ArenaNet described when talking about how gear would work in GW2.
really?
I have not missed them at all- I have no ascendant anything- so as far as I’m concerned there is no need for a grind
I do have 3 characters in exotics and that was not a grindThere is need for a grind in order to get maxed stats gear. You can say you don’t care, but the need for grind is there.
But it’s not required to compete equally, right? The BiS is what? A few stat points up?
Basically, the people looking for BiS, aka Ascended are like people looking for Legendary – they “want” it but they don’t “need” it – they can be equally competitive without it.
Its not about “I can’t do it”, its about “It takes too much time to beat one npc”, but nvm, you probably won’t get the point anyway…
And my attitude as a gamer is to enjoy the game, not to spend 8 hours on one drinking npc and wait for luck
And with your attitude “Practice or quit” there will be only less players and it will be more solo game as MMO, but who cares anyway, right?
Oh I get it… But then again, it’s you. What about others?
Your points are good, I could not agree more. But, everyone is different. When I was working on my previous job (like a customer service, only it’s tech support), complaints > recognition. It’s alot easier to complain about something than to praise what is done. After all, it’s human nature to see the mistakes first, because they are not part of the plan/design. Here are some of the reasons I observed:
—> Because people don’t like to “put in effort”. They like to be entitled to something like “I did this, I want that”.
—> Because people don’t know the difference between “need” and “want”.
—> Because people get bored of “empty/repetitive” content. Sure there are like 1000+ events out there – but not everyone has a taste for them – see the “effort” part.
—> Because some people think there really is no major impact on what we do. “Okay, I did the event, what now? I got some greens, a few coppers, an exp, some karma… okay… now what? Oooh a new event!”See? GW2 is a great game – but we can all admit that it’s pretty repetitive. And doing easy, repetitive things leads to what? Burnout.
I think the point of this thread is to add some positive to this sea of negative.
And I agree. But, I just showed some of the common reasons why we are seeing a tidal wave of complaint and a few drops of commendations.
Don’t get me wrong, as I stated that I agree to everything the OP said.
