problem
pugs want only zerk wars eles gaurds for speed clears
problem this causes
this excludes newer players and those who just cant be botherd to learn to zerk / and those with reaction time issues and unable to play glass cannon
how to fix.
sadly this can never be fixed as there will always be people who can and people who cant. be it willingly or unwillingly due to many things such as IRL disability’s etc.
the only way around this is to find a guild that does not enforce the zerk meta to group content.

its a very nice suggestion.
but incase this never happens just save up skill point scrolls.
also u can trade in 35 fractal relics for 1x skill point. and also tomes of knowledge gives u a skill point + a lvl
so there is plenty of ways to give alts skill points. just not as fast

the problem is simple
1. all players share the same condi debuff on a target
e.g 25 bleed stacks. I apply 20 some 1 else can only apply 5.
if I apply 5 secs of burn and some 1 else is able to apply 10 + and it does slightly more dmg. their burn overrides mine and my burn extends the duration of their burn
2. anet refuses to add separate condi stacks for each player as it will
1. take up so much server resources calculating the condi dmg it would lag the game in larger zones (I know don’t laugh)
2. as they don’t have the sub base system like WoW has, they are unable to have the types of servers that can support 40 + separate debuffs from players per target per instance per zone per battle ground etc.
so just accept the fact that condis are made for PVP small group combat.
this also pushes ppl to zerk meta + to make condis viable in pve would cause them to be extremely powerfull vs players and need to be reworked to have 2 formulas. one for pve and one for players.

its like a normal champ chest. if the items are bound they will be bound b4 u open it. if they are not bound they will be tradeable.
so open it. chances are its all tradeable

all turrets / minions / pets to be immune to aoe dmg in PVE / WvWvW
but left alone in SPVP / TPVP so no 1 can QQ about it.
and lets face it the only ppl who do 1v1 in WvW are either gankers or lone players who got separated from a zerg. and the real fights in WvW are AoE zergfests.
any one who argues this point is either a troll or does not want to see turrets / pets / minions fixed in PVE.
and yes its a problem in pve as they die very very fast to the stupid amounts of aoe in the game.

also just to chip in if u do a lot of solo play then sigil of strength is also very nice. esp if u use grenades / bomb kit. it stacks up very fast.
and u can sustain 5-6 stacks of might in long fights and it never goes below 5.
that’s around 180 power + 180 condi, and is = to 18 stacks of bloodlust.
as an engineer that’s a very simple work around to the lack of secondary weapon swap like most other classes have access to.
this is also nice for eles to as they to cant weapon swap for stacking sigils anymore.

100% agree about the crafting issue with who has what.
as for inventory space and being “poor” that’s just lack of understanding how to make money.
You can just do 3-4 dungeon paths a day and farm a few world bosses and that’s 5-6 g a day just for minimal effort. and if u don’t spend money on useless stuff it only takes u a few days of minimal effort and time to get gold
anyway instead of shouting and ranting on the forums on what needs to be changed from your PoV. how about asking yourself this
1. what can I do to be better
2. what can I do to make the time I play gw2 be efficient as possible with the amount of time I can play it
3. what tips and tricks are there for general game awesomeness
its easy to blame others. its hard to come to terms that perhaps the issue is you and not the game / class you play.

targeting npcs / players causes targeting issues with my grenades, such as causing it to snap away from the target causing misses. this also applies to a staff ele using fire #2
so I would like to ask some changes to the UI that only affects pve and WvW and would not work in SPVP or TPVP so that those pvp aspects have no unfair advantages over those who don’t use it.
so here we go (as the suggestions forums is now archived).
1. allow us to move the target frame anywhere on screen (disabled in SPVP / TPVP).
2. allow us to shrink the target frame to any size we like (disabled in SPVP / TPVP).
3. allow us to move any part of the UI and remove the artistic border on the edge of the screen (disabled in SPVP / TPVP ).
so basically I would like to see a UI I can customise but when entering SPVP / TPVP we are forced to use the default UI to remove any unfair advantage players may get over those who do not change the UI allowing for a fair across the board standard.
Yes changing certain UI elements about can cause massive advantages in a SPVP / TPVP environment. be it cleaner UI or elements positioned in a spot that allows you to focus certain buffs / debuffs and give u a reaction based advantage.
so yeah these suggestions would greatly improve PVE quality of live and have no impact at all on SPVP / TPVP
WvWvW is a different story and is mostly large scale combat, yes there are some 1v1 fights but that’s mostly just new players who get separated from the group and picked of by thiefs and does not count as “pvp”. so UI changes has little impact vs a giant zerg.
TLDR : let us customize our UI but disable it for SPVP / TPVP so no unfair advantages are made vs those who don’t customize their UI

any utility for last slot (rocket boots are great for mobility)
supply crate
healing skill what ever the hell u like ur job will be full dmg not healing.
open up with big old bomb. then drop a fire bomb then use your conc bomb for confusion
swap to rifle use #2 then #3
swap to grenade kit use everything on cd and spam #1 for a few seconds
swap to bomb kit use #2 #3
back to rifle use #3
back to nades
obv u keep grenade barrage on cooldown and try to sync big old bomb with fire bomb.
with some practice u will get into a pattern where u know all the cds by heart and can tell when they are done.
engineers are all about kit swapping and using your main wep dps skills.
I also use sigil of force and sigil of strength as it has high synergy with the groups I play with.

engineers are very good at direct dmg or condition dmg.
it is a very big misconception that they are condi only.
full zerk with a zerk build and zerk kits (grenade bomb) and rifle all rotated is very powerfull combo and has all blast fields needed.
so once ppl in this game stop being stupid and actually bother to learn each class propeprly they will see the game in a different view and start taking other classes they thought used to be sucky.
1 important thing.
a class does not suck
a player does suck
learn the difference and u will be a better player for it

transmutation charges are anets main source of income.
the gemstore pays for the servers, development and support.
they need things ingame that always need ppl to buy gems (when u buy with gold some 1 has to pay real money for it).
so items like this will never happen as it will greatly hit the wallets.

we DO NOT NEED ascended harpoons / trident / spears or legendary and yet we have them.
it would be nice to just have a breather with stats of my choice and worthy of a scholar rune.
and not some random stat that is of no use to me at all.

in pve how ever a game where the vast % of players are is a different story.
for PVE DUNGEONS / FRACTALS ONLY READ IT give them aoe immunity
WvW is all about zerg play and if u are running about WvW alone u will be mown down by roamers and deserve to die. also MMO pvp is never designed for 1v1 its designed for group play so having turrets scale would be nice and wont be OP.
the only OP turret would be the net turret so don’t give that aoe immunity. and u would have to spec into invention to even have a remotely usefull very short reflect for a turret,

lol the engineer poped a turret. random no skill aoe placed over turret. turret dies 5 seconds later and the player is still focused on the engineer.
this is just an example as to show u how useless they can be.
now a pve example
I place a turret in a “safe spot” but it counts on the boss threat list. what is this red circle of doom over my turret that gets 1 shot ??
whats this random stupid person runs into my turret and it dies from the aoe focused on them ?
whats this rocket turret no logner causes burn and is now 1000 base line range has 4 sec fire rate and hits for around 800 dmg but its aoe
whats this rifle turret only this for 500 dmg per shot and forces you to bug over charge to have a 1 sec fire rate to make it even worth using. yet its tool belt ability can crit and scales with power and has a 6 sec cd and can be fired at any direction even when stunned !
whats this full zerk build with 0 points in invention is the fav build for DPS engie even if speced in full inventions does less dps then current meta.
whats this ppl only use the inventions reflect for wvw to protect build sites bu using 3 turrets 1 after each other then a supply crate ? after that the turrets die a painfull death from the aoe zerg that follows
for WvW it would atleast force players to make a choice go for the engie or go for the turret.
atm its just LOL turret random faceroll no skill aoe and focus on engine while the turret dies.
most ppl have no idea what they talk about and just spew out crap.
WoW had this issue with hunter pets and shaman class that uses totem that work exactly like turrets do. both of which was solved by giving them aoe protection.
the pets take 95% less dmg from aoe and have their base hp.
the totem have 5 health but immune to all forms of aoe. and only need a single direct dmg attack to destroy them.
TLDR
give turrets in PVE DUNGEONS / FRACTALS aoe protection and do not add it to SPVP and make turrets mobile on mini tank treds like bomb disposal robots IRL. but again not work in SPVP
WVW is not real pvp its just big zerg vs bigger zerg with stupid ppl running about alone asking to be killed by a thief. any decent WvW player is with a group being usefull .

so when will we be getting this anet.
I am fed up of my non zerk breather with poor stats and green quality. yes I am aware there is a yellow breather but its +1 extra stat of what I have atm which is again not usefull to me.
it would then be worth using a scholar rune aswell for set bonus underwater.
I meen we have ascended harpoon guns / tridents / spears and even legendary underwater weapons but no ascended aqua breather ?
hell even if u added a craftable lvl 80 green breather with STATS we want would be awesome.

so I played wildstar for 2 weeks to give it a good try. and I played the engineer class.
well what can I say. the engineers have “bots” which are basicly turrets on legs that follow the engineer and chase our targets.
so this vid clip from youtube shows u the bots
so anet when will we see this kind of “turret” update for engineers in GW2. they could be on tank track style base and and follow you about.
I meen if I can run about throwing UNLIMITED grenades im sure you guys can make a simple mobile turret system that does not use any kind of magic to stay in keeping with char anti magic 100% tech work around.
also give turrets aoe dmg immunity inside dungeons / fractals and cause no threat so they are USEFULL in a dungeon instead of getting aoe red circles of doom 5 seconds after being deployed.
not to mention let them scale with power and crit chance / dmg so they actually do some kind of dmg and not just used for overcharge utility such as rocket turret knock down or flame turret blind.
in pvp u cant really do any aoe immunity or the pvp cry babys will cry to high heaven because they have to choose between the engineer or the turret that’s no longer killable with mindless aoe and is now a “threat” and has to be dealt with.
but hey lets not talk about pvp on. and no WvW is no the same that’s just 1 big blob vs another with some ppl doing 1v1 vs noobs

the engineer class was built around kits as our main mechanic and f1-f4 made up for the “lost utility slot”
our main hand “weapons” are tools we use incombat that compliments our kits.
once ppl understand this they will become better engineers.

the issue here is when I use the -fps 120 command it exceeds 120 fps
when I use vsync it does not exceed 120 fps but has the workload the same as vsync turned off
so any here who actually understands able to help ?

hey guys so was wondering
I have a sexy benq moniter and want to limit my max fps the game will run. I have tried using the -fps 120 in properties of the game but cos of the fps limiter option in the game settings it caps to 60 when its on. if I set it to unlimited the -fps120 does not work and it overworks like crazy.
if I set it to vsync with unlimited it seems caped at 120 but has the work load the same as with vsync turned off.
do you have any work arounds for this or will I be forced to run gw2 at 60 fps

hey guys need some help with caping gw2 fps
so im using the -fps 120 in the gw2 properties on the short cut but I have to set my fps limiter to unlimited for this to work. and as a result it does not cap to 120 fps.
this is also an issue when I use vsync as it then causes my gpu to go mental int he fps department but shows 120fps but has the work load of 200 fps.
is there any way to work around this so I can use my 120hz moniter with out massive fps in the 200 + range

power based builds scale with weapons such as warrior GS shocking I know that dmg is scaled to a weapon in a POWER build.
condition based builds do not need to scale with weapons as it scaled to condition and condi duration, engineer pistols are condi based with access to posion bleeds and burn if dual pistol.
the engie rifle is a power weapon with only 1 bleed combined with a very powerfull melee range attack (#3 skill if u don’t know)
if u actually bother to learn how engineers work you would understand this and not a stupid question

WoW solved it years ago just copy them (like they copy every 1 else) in terms of quality of live changes with out ruining gw2

this is exactly my point we earnt them but they was nto added to the the achie panel like zenith skins are and they are achie based to.
it would be nice to have acces to these skins for all armor types even if some was deleted due to no hint of this system until a few days ago

ok let me put this an easy and simple way for u
warrior banners are fire and forget and give a very nice dps boost to the party.
ranger pets and engineer turrets was ment to be part of our core game play but in most cases turrets are next to useless apart from that odd fight net turret can be used. ranger pets atleast gain healing from ranger heal skill.
due to so much aoe in pve content and wvw zergs no matter what pet / turret build or any other build you use they don’t last very long.
esp in fractals and dungeons with lots of aoe.
so yes I would like to have my turrets as fire and forget and play the class it was was advertised b4 the launch.

hello anet, you claim to be a next gen MMO yet you still have the problems of older MMOS when it comes to PETS MINIONS TURRETS and elite skill summons.
this problem is they take full amount of AOE dmg in a game where AOE is everywhere in PVE and WvW which makes them a liability more then a use.
a simple way to fix this problem is to make turrets pets minions and elite skills summons immune to AOE damage and also have no agro table vs NPC. this solves any explotation of the AOE immunity for tanking pets and rely on the players ability to avoid dmg and not the pet minion or turret doing all the work.
this change should NOT be applied to SPVP or TPVP due to it being different to WvW or PVE.
you talk about “build diversity” yet you do nothing to fix the core mechanics of some classes (ranger pets being useless in high aoe fights and engie turrets) by making AOE immunity baseline for pets turrets and minions and elite skill summons you make these pet based builds viable and even standard builds can now use turrets / minions to their full potential in a PVE environment.
now we all know WvW is mostly just big zergs vs even bigger zergs with a small % of players doing “roaming” please ignore roamers and focus on the zerg play of wall defense / assult.
I for one rolled an engineer after watching your pre launch trailers of engineers and their turrets and was really excited until I found out they are stationary aoe magnets that are very fragile and are only somewhat viable with a build focused entirely on turrets.
just this simple change of aoe immunity as baseline would let me use my turrets in lvl 50 fractals / exp dungeons and not have to worry about them being hit by endless wave of aoe 5 – 10 seconds after deploying them.
imagine a warrior banner had a health pool and was as fragile as a rifle turret. after 1 week it would be hot fixed to be immune to aoe dmg !

as I run full zerk I do get downd a few times in dungeons (no 1 is perfect) and run a lot of fractals so stacking sigils are not usefull to be as they are either lost during a boss fight or not enough trash to get it back.
so I just use 5% dmg and sigil of fire

I can see how it will hurt ppl but they want it to balance out dmg and make it a choice rather then a luxary so we just have to get used to it.
every mmo has something like this happen to control direct dmg crit specs as it always ends up out of control in dmg terms

in the beta engineers has shotguns a totally separate weapon type. but this got changed to be rifle so it was easy to make skins for all rifle users and not have to have 2 separate weapon types.
now engineer “rifle” is intended to be played like a shot gun a close range wep designed to be deadly which as a zerker it is.
it has a long range auto just so u can hit ppl at a distance.
once u learn how to use a rifle for close range fights in 1v1 wvw u will understand fully how awesome it is to combo the rifle #2then #5 then #3 followed up with a grenade barrage and if needed rocket turret toolbelt skill (this hits stupid hard as zerk) and anything not in bunker build is dead

health and toughness is not the issue every 1 in pure zerk gear has base value health and toughness anyway
warrior/necro 19k hp
engie / ranger / mesmar ??? I think has 15k hp
ele / guard/ thief has 10k hp
so the problem is that ppl stack like crazy so all aoe and attacked is focused in 1 spot and they dodge when the circle shows up then back to nukeing.
stacking allows the entire party to have 20 + might stacks and all benefit from banners water fields and any other blast finisher from certain classes and group builds.
this is what goes on in current dungeons.
even if they didn’t use zerker and used other builds they would STILL stack and do the exact same thing it would just take longer.
zerk is just a symptom of the pve problem it is not a cause.
bosses in pve dungeons need anti stacking
for example if 3 or more ppl stack up in the same spot or with in a range of 50 of each other and 50 of the boss then the boss has massive PULSING AOE that does 90% of the players hp every 0.5 secs so that its undodgeable and unhealable.
this would then force players to spread out and play the dungeon the way it was intended and force a mix of ranged and melee thus added gameplay the devs intended back
there would ofc be certain bosses that would not have this aoe such as fractal bosses they are already deadly and stacking in 1 spot the entire fight in fractals normally leads to wipes on bosses
trash ofc will still be the same as always and stacking is a great way to deal with trash
this is just my view on how stacking could be solved
remove stacking from this game and u force more varied gameplay and allow build diversity again

hey guys so atm engineer kits are scaled to an exotic dagger for stats
please can u either have kits scale with our main hand weapon (this does not count any off hand for balance) or make it scale to either ascended pistol or ascended rifle quality for the kits
because lets face it engineers CANT even use daggers yet our kits are forced to scale as a dagger that’s silly.
so please let us scale with our weapons or if u cant make it scale with weps make it a set scale ascended quality

a full zerk grenade engi using rocket turret toolbelt combined with grenade barrage and the throw mine skill can add some very high dmg output
in this video please DO NOT FORGET grenades dmg is done in 3 separate attacks for skills 1-5 so the dmg u see on screen is x by 3 for total dmg. ppl always see the separate smaller numbers and think its low dmg and forget its 3x grenades a time

a large % of rangers suck so every 1 assumes every ranger sucks.
so to avoid sucky players they just ignore rangers.
this leads to poor understanding of rangers builds and buffs and leads to them not being taken.
also zerk meta guys if your not a warrior u don’t get inv,

so when wil kits become “ascended” cos right now they are still exotic dagger quality
please buff ktis to exotic rifle quality for ppl who uses kits so we get the best out of it. this way saves u making it scale with weapons.
cos lets be honest once rifles get a second sigil slot so many ppl will be using it for builds outside of condi e.g zerk. (yes full zerk grenades / bombs is awesome)
this would atleast put us on par for kit dmg with every 1 else in ascended 2 handed weps like warriors .
also give turrets aoe immunity against PVE NPC and still take aoe dmg from players
tada both pve and pvp sorted for turrets !

so I run full zerk grenades and just wondering for my offhand sigil should I be using 5% crit or sigil of fire.
both seem good to me I just cant decide which is better for long term dmg.
2.3k hours as a grenade engie I know the class im just not 100% over these 2 sigils.

with experience team at 40 + it does not take long.
how ever I agree that the dredge fractal needs to be reduced
the “clown car” when u have 10-15 mins worth of dredge spawning is stupid.
everything else is a good length.
as ppls aid b4 if your team lacks experience it will take u a long time to do it.

1. legendarys are optional and not required
2. grind the mats took me 6 days to get 2x pistols and bought the ascended ingots / planks for very cheap in total when it came out cost me 90g for both weps.
3. I had the back item for a long time cost me 80g in total for the shiny 1.
4. most of the ppl at 40 + have been 48 + b4 the update came and had 55 ar because WE PUT THE EFFORT IN !
how do u get past 40 ? u grind 30 + till u got enough AR to go 40 +
sucks but if u didn’t bother with fractals b4 this patch your gonna have to do some hard work to get higher.
but hey 40 + is not intended for casual players anyway so either put the effort in or don’t bother
