how dare arena net make the monthly achivement (also 100% OPTIONAL) require you to travel across the game world and do the jump puzzles.
here is a tip. and this is really amazinging wtf bbq uber wonderfull
ready.
write down all jump puzzles for each zone do each puzzle in each zone then move on.
took me 1 hour 20 mins to do. and i made a few gold proft (a few rares from chest and loads of greens).

learn to use the mouse to turn and you will do really well.
if you keyboard turn and dont keep the camera faceing your target then yes you will have a hard time in underwater.
just imagine you are strafeing underwater like on land combat. hold the right mouse button down and use A D to strafe (this works exactly like the strafe keys and lets u rebind them).
people really need to learn to mouse turn and strafe in combat.

i do this every day for the karma jug
those who find it imposible to do are keyboard turners, laggy internet connections, think minimum spec pc = super fast performance, no spatial awarness, unable to do fast constant while on the move, very slow reactions.
basicly what i am saying is your typical player who just stands in the aoe never dodges or anything you find in dungeons.
now the clock tower was a hard puzzle mostly due to the zerg of ppl at the start which made the first few jumps very hard. once u got past the zerg (most fail) it was easy as pie.
when i do the puzzle i just watch as others just fail. the only hard bit i find about wintersday is the candy caine ledges sometimes i land on it then just slip off randomly :’(.

this seems like the perfect thread to ask my question.
im new to ele lvl 9 atm and wondering what gear would be best for a staff ele that likes to blow stuff up with fire (and yes i know use the other attunes for support).
now i have a lvl 80 thief in full zerker gear with 11k hp so im used to playing extremely fragile classes in pve and pvp.
now will a ele in full zerker gear with a staff focusing on fire be a heavy hitter ranged class or will it just be a small spark. or should i get zerker armor and valkyre trinkets etc. i was thinking of getting ruby orbs like my thief has or is there any recomended runes for Direct Damage staff ele (ofc using support when needed its fun using water in wvw as lvl 9 )
i am mostly after a long ranged caster class but i dont like mesmar or necro and always liked the “mage” type classes for its direct dmg and CC.

Hey guys so to the point.
Asura tier 1 culture weapons are bugged. when fireing the weapon as an asura it fires from a human/sylvari height and well above our heads. Also the muzzle flash fires from inside the pistol on an asura.
the weapons that are affect are of all the same model type for the glyphic pistol model family (also the token pistols from sorrows embrace the red inquest colour version of glyphic and of the karma tier 1) I have been reporting this since day 1 of head start for gw2 and cry every time i see an update and they are not fixed.
plrease anet fix this pistols they are my fav model and look so awesome on my asura

upscaleing is so your good in zergs against keeps / castles and your support helps in a way.
its never designed for 1v1

WvWvW is Guild Wars 2 version of open world pvp with castle sieges.
most of the time its zerg vs zerg so no gear wills ave u from that much dmg.
and if its 1v1 why are u using bad gear ? just spend a few days makeing gold (go to orr farm ores/trees/herbs) get a few lvl 80 zones 100% compelte they give 40 orci ores and exotics.
please dont come here and complain about your own lazyness in getting 2 sets of gear for a PVPVE aspect of the game

downstate can be easy to counter as a thief.
step 1. use blind field
step 2. use stealth
step 3. free kill for 1v1
step 4. when in group combat replace step 3 and have the team focus the ressers while using step 1 + 2 with a thief or have a thief do those steps.
also if its just random spvp with casuals who the hell cares, most of them suck soo much anyway they dont even organise them self let alone know how to deal with downd ppl in the first place.
also rememeber its not the game that sucks, its YOU !

i did it for the achivement then stopped.
its not fun, if it was say your own weps + hoardes of toys comming at you liek crazy in left for orr style then yes it would of been better.
but then the bad players would complain as they have no skill

i have both a lvl 80 P/P SB thief and Rifle / LB warrior. both the pistols and rifles get random obstruction when in open ground in wvw and very rarely on bosses in pve.
how ever when using my bows on both chars, never do i see this in open flat ground with nothing to cause this.
most likely because arrows arch they dont hit some invisible unfinished partial walls, and because bullets do not arc they just hit it, this is all i can think that causes this.

i play glass cannon P/P thief. with signet of malice and omnom pie my unload heals anywhere from 800-1.5k per shot (with average omno m pie procs) so my 11k hp is not an issue as i am at ranged and i dodge.
funny thing the only time i get downd is when trash mobs just suddonly zerg me like in HoTW with the ice brood wolf pack.
thanks to shadow refuge i also last longer then anyone else and alot of the time end up last one standing

the trouble is alot of glass cannons do not even know what dodge is, and are almost always in melee range and have no clue how to avoid the damage, so i understand your pain when it comes to warriors or GS/Hammer gaurdians glass cannon specs.
ranged glass cannon specs do very high dmg and have high life expectancy in lvl 80 dungeons.
i personally dont like the low lvl exp due to the very low hp we end up having and lower self healing. also glass cannons are not bad in fractals ikittennow how to dodge and actually have agony resistance for the higher lvls.
i say this because anet will change fractals end of jan so that any 1 can join some one at any fractal lvl let the QQ of “ITS TO HARD NERF FRACTALS” commence.

plan your utility skills acording to the boss fight. most trash are easy to do. its bosses that count.

25/30/0/0/15 full zerker gear with ruby gems, using signet of malice and om nom pie with P/P, the 900 range and very high health regain letsme last longer then any 1 else and i have 11k hp

thief is only subpar if your ability to play thief is subpar.
if you are good you destroy everything, if you are bad you suck at everything, this is the mmo “rogue /thief / assasin” you do need high skill to fight GOOD PLAYERS, any moron can roll a thief and destroy another moron.
yes some areas needs alot of work (P/P) but we will get there. thankfully most of the nerfs only apply to sPvP/tPvP and not applyed to pve or WvW

in pve signet of malice + omnom pie = full zerker around 10.8k hp and u just out heal all dmg with dmg spam
PvP well dnt really do much but if u go glass cannon and dont doge or use stealth propperly then expect to die in a few seconds

step 1. build 2-3 layers of snow walls infront of the cows
step 2. build insane ammount of balistas and 1 or 2 catapults per bunch of balasita,
step 3. stay in middle when tox comes and spam the rifles (u get regain) set #1 to auto
step 4. have 3 -4 ppl defend the middle with 1-2 ppl running about getting snow and scrap
step 5. get lucky and have non kitten people in the group.

i love my toy golem, its really nice with the moveing parts and the sound it makes. and it glows really nicely in dark areas 
and how are asura neglected. its just bugs (that every race have got to) that will be fixed intime.
just please anet fix tier 1 pistol animation on asura. it fired human height when used by asura QQQQ

the asura tier 1 karma pistol and the glyphic and other pistols with same model differnt names has been bugged since BW3.
as far as i know, this is the only model thats having issues with asura.
this is also my fav pistol model for my asura so please fix it, every time i see a patch im letdown its not fixed :’(
when firing the pistol on an asura it fires from a human height and thus well above our heads. i will link screen shots and a youtube video.
asura female thief, all pistol abilitys are affected by the visual bug.

as a pve zerker P/P i like sneed attack, i use shadowrefuge alot to drop agro and help downd / low health party members.
the dmg is nice 4k + (104% crit dmg
) and unload spam is nice on champs with a good group anywhere from 7-12k crits depending on how much toughness a boss has (some are light armor some are heavy so dmg varies for every one)

you are playing on a laptop with a mobil version graphics card.
what do you expect ?
also do you know why your fps drops. mostly the sheer number of players in lions arch. cpu useage is not just graphics. its player positions, drawing data for armor they use from your HDD etc.
in every mmo ever made the main city hub at peek player times always eats up alot of power, even high end machines can feel it slightly.
same for WvWvW during insane zergs.
also it might be your laptop is set to battery power mode and on energy saving setting and its running at 70% speed to save power. connect it to your mains and set it to high power mode and no energy saveing,
also how old are your gpu drivers ? and you have a 660m not that amazing.

i am a pve zerker P/P thief and i love the dmg output of unload at 900 range. once a boss hits 50% and i have a goot group set up / synergy im seeing 10k -12k + unload crits on most bosses in fractals.
around 10.7k hp but meh with signet of malice and omnon pie unload outheals alot of dmg i take from random aoe if i ever get hit.
now yes vital shot need to be greatly increased either make it scale fully with power for its direct dmg part when P/P. and have it get 100% of cond and power for its bleed when P/D (seeing as u go msotly cond for that build)
or just replace vital shot and give us sneek attack as a main #1 skill. would be nice to have rapid fire #1 skill and ten bleed stackign not an isssue. and because sneek attack is about same dmg as vital shot direct dmg it wont be op but will have good bleed stacking and look even more awesome then unload.
mayebe make unload have 10 shots in same duration or make it 0.5 sec faster.
now i know alot of people who complain about P/P are pvp ppl. but then again isnt pvp about being able to survive and take lower dmg. and most decent pvpers will use alot of toughness and grind people down. so maybe use evasion based builds and grind ppl down. alot of mmos pure direct dmg burst specs are hinders by toughness / resilience / what ever swotor uses.

as far as i know with my GC thief its damage scales from your power. and the damage from sigil of air is a seperate attack with a 1.1 dmg multiplier. it is not based of the damage you deal.
also the sigil of fire (or what ever the aoe 1 is) has a 1.0 multiplier does slightly less single target dmg but has a 150 aoe.
id go for fire if u can afford it

to the point im a GC P/P thief with
11.6k hp, 3404 power, 104% crit dmg, 56% crit (66% with traits)
use omnom pie for health regain and switch from malice to cond removal heal
my question is what fractal lvls can i get to b4 i get my kitten handed to me from unavoidable dmg (i.e no endurance and no int for SB). as good as i am at dodgeing sometimes u cant avoid dmg.
now i know in a few months i can get ascended gear out side of fractals so im not concerned about max lvl.
also please dont start about what does more dmg or what is better specs, this is a simple question that i would like to hear from experianced fractal GC thiefs be it melee or ranged.

in GW2 the rifle rate of fire makes it worth using in combat
(if u like at RL blunderbus when you had to stuff powder + ball bearing for every single shot and its very slow rate of fire + reload speed then yes melee was tops)
GW2 is now in the transistion from crude axe swinging to tactical ranged combat with modern (somewhat advanced) weapons.

if there is no reason or profit from going to a zone no 1 bothers.
starter zpmes for popular races (humans asura) will always be busy.
the only events that gets ppl going to lower zones is the dragons thanks to chests dropping precursers now.
so get used to it. the high pop zones will have people in aprt from lsot shores, that place is a nightmare to go alone esp when u get 1 veteran karka +2 normal chase you.

rifle ranger is ingame
its called warrior rifle spec
and omg is it fun 1500 range kill shot (perfect aginst glass connons and hits like a truck in pve. and 1200 for all other skills (volley hurts alot to) ).
oo and very high base hp heavy armor and awesome looking heavy armor sets

on topic rifles would not hurt rangers as it would be an “optinal” playstyle.
And you could use the sylvari rifles, they are made from plants and fire seeds, like plants can fire seeds. so that makes sense for a bio rifle, when doing the kodan heart quest in frost gorge one of the polar bears says sylvari grow weapons from seeds.

bezerker gear = power crit chance crit dmg
with warriors very high base hp u can go full zerker gear have 60% +crit chance and still have over 18k hp or mix in some valkyre and have 50% + and have over 20k hp
seeing as GS / rifle are direct dmg why worry

i play an asura P/P thief in pve. so these changes could be pve only buffs to stop pvp whiners.
make pistols have 1200 base range with out using traits so we can atleast be a true ranged build.
same for short bow make all skills 1200 like the #2 skill. even if its just a pve only change as i understand the 900 range for pvp reasons. but as we have seen you are able to apply “nerfs” to pvp only side of the game so makes sense u can “buff” pve side only of the game.
i dont understand why ppl say gw2 is a "pvp"game when there is more pve cotnent then pvp content atm.
P/P damage could be buffed for pve mostly vital shot. its very lackluster direct dmg and bad bleed applying and apperntly to slow for what its ment to be.
bodyshot could be changed to a snare/cripple so that it becomes worth using
unload could do with a PVE dmg increase
headshot is in a good place for utility
black powder is far to expensive for a utility maybe bring it down to 3 int in PVE only.
now also as an asura when using certain pistols like the glyphic pistols or asura tier 1 culture pistol when we fire a shot the bullet does not fire out of the muzzle it fires high above our heads and is very annoying.
also for unload animation for asura. the muzzle flash on mainhand is fine but for the off hand its firing from half way inside the pistol.

also maybe adjust the vital shot animation for dual pistol.
so its main hand then off hand then main hand then off hand. you already can get this bu using vital + head shot for a real gun slinger look.
they could do main hand then off hand for 1 skill like they do for melee #1 skill (3 differnt rotation for #1) and the last shot would be both guns at once
- main hand off hand both guns this would make #1 very awesome to use and buff its dmg

im working on changeing my gear over and getting the scholar runes for the power crit dmg and 10% dmg when im above 90% hp and play P/P SB.
now currently i have a mix of zerker and valkyre and stats as follows
3.4k power
104% crit dmg
43% crit (that includes the 5% over 90% hp and duel skill 5% crit and signet)
16.3k health
now my question is. how much hp can i get away with in pve before it becomes to low and useless in higher end fractals. i am under the impression anything over 15k hp would be more then enough for pve glass cannon.
any help would be nice.

as soon as i got to play an asura thief in BW3 and played P/P i instantly fell in love with the class and spec.
sure p/p needs buffing but i enjoy it so much. just staying at ranged spamming 1 skill seeing loads of nice big numbers on the screen, the other day i got 3x 10k unload crits in a row on a fractal boss

if you use a rifle then use the “sniper” spec and just do long range dps (penetrating shots ftw)
shortbow if u plan on doing alot of aoe dmg to ppl on walls in wvw (the burn does alot of dmg)
your build and weapon are what makes ur class. warriors can be either dedicated ranged or dedicated melee or use a mix of both.
there is no straight line for warriors in terms of weapon playstyles.
just like thiefs can melee then use a short bow to barrage the area.
i enjoy rifle spec as i like sniper classes. and i dont play ranger as i hate bows plus rangers suck

WvW is the open world pvp set in a siege style zerg v zerg fight.
very rarely do u have 1v1 and when you do its mostly with boosted low lvls who die in a few seconds anyway.
no ammount of “gear” will save u from a zerg ever

the “new” gear is only needed for the fractal of the mists dungeon if u want to “progress” into its hardest modes.
so what exactly is the issue here ? you dont need this new gear for the “existing” content and you are not forced to use it to keep playing with every one else .
so time to man up every one and stop whining like little girls.

hey guys im a pve engie that uses grenades. what i want to know is which spec is better in terms of nukeing.
is 30/15/0/0/25 for standing still artillary style any good (apperntly scope for 10% crit standing is bugged)
or
30/30/0/0/15 for the higher crit and not needing to stand still.
also how much health should i be aiming for. is 15k hp more then enough wityh mostly berserker gear. and does it hurt to have a few power vit crit dmg rings / trnkets and a bezerker amulet ?

well if u ever got to play a grenade engie at 1500 range when you your team attacks the enemy that is turtleing at the point, then u will understand why the dmg was reduced. it was like chucking nuke grenades

besides who cares its only pvp thats affected and not pve. just roll a warrior for pvp if your that upset.

as how i plan to play is when i can stand still i could do very insane dmg. and still have the ability to do dmg when moving. im not sure if this is a standard direct dmg nuke spec.
also for my gear i plan to get mostly beserker armor and valkyre rings (power vit crit dmg) so i have an “ok” health pool and high dmg out put.
o and i am mostly a pve dude. with some WvW as a zerg on keeps and no 1v1 at all.
also last question. is it better to get runs or take the gems that give power crit and crit dmg ?
