Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Sorry to say it but based on this very post I would say people would be glad to get rid of you.
The whole “I am much better than the others, and I only lose because the others suck” would most likely be rather annoying for most people.
So how do i get out of it?
Btw even if i play like a bot doesn’t mean it’s a bad way of playing, cause i enjoy it a lot.
Change areas, do other things now and then.
Of course, but how do you suggest they would hit actual bots if they don’t hit people acting like bots?
(edited by lordkrall.7241)
The fact that you WP and attack the same kind of mob constantly for 40 minutes would indeed most likely trigger the DR, especially if you don’t kill other mobs in between.
You might not be a bot but you are playing exactly like a bot.
Most likely coming later.
Hard mode wouldn’t really work out in the open world, since the world is persistent. In dungeons on the other hand I could see this working, but don’t really see the need to make it require a bigger group.
you mean those coffers I opened over 900 times and still got nothing?
I suppose.
I opened about 25 and got a ticket.
I simply pointed out that it is very possible to get it without paying a single gem, which people seems to overlook.
… Let that one sink in for a while…
So.. how many unique sets can you get from doing World Bosses?
People care about cosmetics in this game, therefore people that want the cosmetic look from Arah will do Arah to get that cosmetic set.
Simple as that.
Which would be extremely relevant if Arah gear was anything other than normal exotic gear. Which it isn’t.
But it is.
It have a unique skin. Just like the other dungeons.
Thus the issue. Arah is by far the hardest explorable dungeon. Lupicus is a great boss (except for the whole “shooting outside the marked circle” kitten, but whatever), but also easily harder than any other boss in any other dungeon. But doing Arah P4 rewards you the same as CoF P1, or CoE P1…
It’s an issue with the current dungeon design…
I have actually yet to see a single person in Arah gear that have not done Arah Explorable.
I have to dis-agree here with you. It highly depends on the kind of I5 and the kind of memory. But I’m playing with a budget system on full graphics while only having problems in the really really busy events where people move a lot. This is in the middle of zerg’s in WvWvW and in the high level events.
But for example a static behemoth fight runs smoothly, prolly cause the people mostly stand still and don’t move that often.
I am thinking more of the Graphic card rather than the processor though. It is a rather weak card and that will most likely effect performance.
Well,i’d say it’s about time after 10 months, people have been suggesting to give looting its own key or auto loot everything in wvwvw for an eternity now,and after 10 months they come with this…Im glad its finally being adressed, but 10 months is an awfull long time of suggesting..
You are however assuming that it is an easy thing to add.
For all we know it could have been a rather complex bit of coding involved.
Those specs will NOT allow you to play at full graphics, especially not in WvW and bigger meta-event.
The main issue with repeating it would be that people can keep claiming that they should repeat it for months, since there will always be people who misses it.
It would be very naive to assume that Arenanet and NCSoft aren’t working on a new game. It’s what they do and every company has to look to the future and the next big money earner.
It would be wonderful if some of that art work is for GW2 and it may well be, but I would be more surprised if there wasn’t a new game in the offing.
Hmm?
An expansion pack, possibly. A new game? Quite unlikely.
You have to keep in mind that ArenaNet have technically only released two games. GW1 and GW2.
Actually I have seen these holograms in Lornar’s Pass, Frostgorge Sound and Fireheart Rise, so clearly they exists in zones with higher than lvl 33.

DUDE that dragon helm is ugly..remake it..REMAKE…everyone agrees..I don’t mean to bash your hard work but…no..just no..remake that helm..and make it a full helm that covers face..that’d probably save you issues.
Lets not talk for everyone, shall we?
If it’s by Doicu then it’s old – he left the company what, around Christmas, didn’t he?
I doubt its for anything new.
I think you are thinking about Kekai Kotaki, who left sometime around Christmas, since Doicu is still working on ArenaNet.

Ohh please start reading before posting. This is like the 5th time I need to debunk that same story. IT has nothing to do with keeping supporting. Other people keep supporting buy buying the expansion when it is released and people who did buy gems the day of the release and nothing after that did also get the thank you.
And the idea that the gem-buyers keep GW2 running is also total bull. They can easily get around on box sales and expansion sales. Just like companies who sell non MMO games also make money only on that. F2P games run on micro-transactions and can’t live without them but this is no f2p game it is a b2p game.
Oh but it does have something to do with keep supporting.
Everyone in the game have payed the money to access the servers. Otherwise they would not have access to the servers.
This reward was for people that decided to support the game further by given ArenaNet some extra money, even after they have gotten access to the servers. How hard is that to understand?
Actually I would say that is a rather logical idea.
If GW2 stop making money, NCSoft will not really be bothered with spending more money on it and it would most likely be taken down rather fast, it wouldn’t be the first time NCSoft simply takes down games.
You can’t really compare a non MMO game with a MMO. There are completely different costs involved. A Single Player game doesn’t usually require that much work after it is released, while a MMO require constant work even after being released, especially when it releases content updates every single month.
I mean, whoever said in a meeting “well, that really does sound like a great idea!”. I don’t care about the latency issues, just let me play with my friends already…
You can play with your friends.
Simply transfer to a NA server.
I am quite sure that they would allow this if it was an easy way to fix it, but since it probably isn’t they simply don’t focus on it, since it would really matter for the majority of players.
Who said anything about repeatable?
We do however know that there are story missions incoming. And for all we know the rewards for said story missions will be Jorbreakers.
I just find it silly to complain about stuff when everything is not even here yet.
The minis were given out to people that have kept supporting the game.
Simple as that.
Buying the CE back in the days gave them some extra money over the standard edition, but far from enough to keep the game alive for a year. The the ones keeping GW2 alive is the ones that buys gems, simple as that.
There is a technical reason for this, and I doubt they would bother with a workaround anytime soon, since it is such a small group of people that would benefit from it, and the amount of work is most likely rather large.
So I guess you missed the post that basically broke down the reasonable grinding time. At about 180 per hour which still is a bit in the far fetched range, your looking at around 555 hours of grinding to get them. Do you still think this is about right? Are you the type that plays 10-12hrs per day?
And I guess you missed the fact that the whole festival is not here yet and it is fully possible that coming events will reward large amount of candy or such?
Where did this notion that using the tp isn’t “earning it” come from? Why is it any better to buy from an npc than a player? If you are willing to spend 10 times more just to get your reward from an npc you deserve to be abused.
Because gold have been obtainable since the release of the game, whilst the candies are Dragon Bash special-drops, therefore getting it by using only candy it would mean you had actually dedicated yourself to do the events and get the candy.
Simple as that.
Unless someone is really bad at managing their inventory, I don’t see why anyone would not use the automatic aoe loot.
People playing WvW might have issues with this, since we often are out in the field for quite some time without visiting a merchant.
why not just do 10 out of the 14 achievements to get the wings instead….that’s easy as crap
Different wings.
If you want to farm 100k taffy for one pair of wings, I pity your intellect. You can sell those 100k taffy on the tp and buy 10 wing covers.
Why can’t you simply accept the fact that some people prefer to earn stuff themselves? Abusing people just because they don’t play the game the way you do is quite silly.
I seriously don’t know why they create such convoluted ways to get items and then add them as random drops as well. The same thing happened at Halloween… it cost 100g+ to craft a mad moon shield but then the shield randomly started dropping from a chest so you could buy one on the tp for 10g, rendering the recipe to craft one completely pointless.
At this point you’d have to be remarkably stupid to spend 100k taffies (200g) to make the wings when you can buy them directly for 22g (and falling).
It is a good idea to leave people different options though.
Some people want to work for the item (as in getting the candies or the wings as a drop), while others prefer to buy it outright.
Why not make both crowds happy?
Wait, how did you get it already?
It was bugged yesterday, so people that went to Lions Arch soon after the patch got the achievement at once.
You have already answered how it is possible that some people already have it – they have it from drops. Not from merchant.
Which would make the whining about the cost from the merchant rather silly, don’t you think?
Since clearly it is possible to get it in other ways.
Strawman much?
Besides, the “guaranteed” stuff is priced so you won’t get it regerdless of how hard you’ll work, which is what the current complains are about. But of course it doesn’t matter for anyone for whom any complains, no matter how valid, is whining.
Oh?
I have seen several people in-game already with these things, so clearly not impossible.
Another thing to keep in mind is that things also drops from mobs, which people seems to ignore.
Read again. No it is not clear. "Because you purchased gems through our Gem Store “OR” via gem card." you must be pretty lead headed if you can’t decipher things instead of just assuming.
It is very clear.
You can acquire gems in 3 different ways in GW2.
1: You can purchase them via the gem store
2: You can buy a gem card in the real world.
3: You can TRADE in-game gold for gems.
See how two of these are purchased while one is traded?
I have bought gems with ingame gold. Before June 9th and so has my gf. No minis for us.
Must it be with real cash? If so way to mislead with the way you worded your text…..gg Anet/NCSoft.
Actually it is quite clear that it only refers to people that have bought gems with real money (or gem-card).
A test server will however never be exactly the same as a live server, so even with a test server issues might turn up on the live servers.
People seems to be under the impression that ArenaNet does not test stuff at all, which they quite clearly do (and have a server for, which is also used for press-events and such)
Why is it obvious that it will be gem-store?
Based on the leak there seems to be new foes at work which would most likely use these kind of weapons/armors so it is fully possible that they are actually drops/barters.
For all we know it is a new dungeons with dungeon tokens.
Sadly that also means some content is gated behind cash-shop bars. Even if it’s just optional skins, content is content. What’s even worse is that you can’t just say “Heck, I’ll spend some money, support ANet and get that content”, because the content is also gated behind HUUUUUUUGE RNG bars. That’s the absolutely worst thing.
Hmm?
I have yet to see a single piece of content in this game that required you to use the gem-store (and no, skins are not content).
Listen to NPCs, talk to NPCs, read the letters you get from completing hearts and so on.
Read books and such you ind lying around.
I would say give warrior a try. They have rather good survivability and great melee and ranged dps.
This is the part that people don’t understand. The game makes so many compromises to have a gem store in place of a monthly fee. A lot of people who use the store would be much better off with a monthly fee. People who don’t use the store settle for less than what a subscription MMO would offer.
In many cases (mine as well) it is a matter of principle though.
The fact that I don’t NEED to pay in order to play. I can CHOOSE to pay for stuff, but if I chose not to, I can still play the game, whilst with a P2P game I cannot.
Instead of white knighting everything Anet/Nexon does, why don’t you go to school. Day 1 in a basic economy will teach you about there is no such thing as a free lunch
And instead of attacking everyone that disagrees with you maybe you should start checking facts?
Ca$h$hop MMO are not free MMOs. Look at lotro and DnDO, both were subscription games and started making MORE MONEY when they went FTP. They just take your money using dispersive methods, IE the last 3 RNG chests. Lotto tickets that have a chance at what you want without stating the odds.
Oh, but you CAN play the game without ever buying anything from the cash shop.
You are CHOOSING to buy something from the shop, not being forced.
£10 a month is nothing. I would rather pay that than have this gem store infecting every aspect of the game.
Hmm?
I have yet to see the gemstore infect: Dungeons, WvW, PvP or most Open-world PvE.
And the person who opened 1000 and got nothing cares to disagree. Welcome to the RNG casino, where the house (anet) refuses to tell you the odds, but why would they when they have all the idiots out there buying up the lotto tickets in droves, and then all the fan boy white knights defending them for this practice. As long as these people exist in the game, Anet will not change its practices.
Of course.
Good thing you don’t need to spend any real money to get the Coffers then, aye?
frequently?
have been reading the forums. I’ve not been keeping count but I’ve opened hundreds, and no ticket.People have opened thousands and no ticket….
Yes, they drop very frequently.
I bought 250 Dragon Coffers on the TP, after opening about 25 I got a ticket ^^
You do know that you can get the skins from Dragon Coffers that drops from every single thing in the whole world right?
And rather frequently as well.
What do you mean by custom names?
There are items with unique names, maybe these are the ones you are talking about?
Unless they actually improve the loot this is rather useless.
Not really.
It is quite common to miss quite a bit of loot in WvW because you can’t really stand still in a big fight looking for your loot-bags.
Would people accept it more (whine less) if anet gave the exact odds? Then I’m all for it.
They wouldn’t.
And it would probably just end up with people shouting about ArenaNet lying about the odds.
Mine just came. Nice enough gesture, but I would have preferred they’d just sell the whole set without any RNG funny business attached.
You can buy this very box in the gem-store ^^
lordkrall – Are you somehow implying that we have to grind and grind and if we miss the mark, we’ll have to wait a long year JUST to get a back item?
In honestly, I hope to Lyssa that the 1000 Zhaitaffies is just a typo.
I am implying that people whine no matter what.
I would think people would even whine if we got everything in the game for simply logging in.
