Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Underpowered as a mesmer skill
Arcane Thievery + Signet of Inspiration would like a word
srsly?
- gear as core progression mechanic
- mainly auto-attack-based, auto-aimed combat
- skinner-box-oriented retention strategy (you would know them as dailies)
- GW2 hearts == WOW quests
- GW2 traits == WOW talents
i could go on but that’s already most of the game…
hmm? quite little gear progression in GW2.
Nope, quite a few encounters require manually targeted abilities
Quite different. The once in WoW can only be done in specific areas, while GW2s can be done by simply playing the game.
GW2 hearts = Any MMOs quest, not specifically WoW.
GW2 traits is rather far from the WoW talents, and once again WoW is not the first nor only game that had those.
There is more to GW2 than shooting arrows from a wall in WvW though. And most
warriors use a rifle even for that. Since kill shot will take down most wounded players
in one hit. You say longbow is good for wvw, I say rifle is even better for wvw, and rifle
is better for all other content as well. The rifle is just far better, it is even able to strike with (piercing) aoe attacks, which is
meant to be the bow’s niche.
Actually out of all warriors I have seen in WvW, the vast majority uses the longbow, simply because of the superior long-range AoE it provides (Combustion Shot is extremely powerful against a blob of enemies (or people on walls).
Rifle is great and all, against single targets, but in most cases AoE > ST in WvW.
The problem is not in the absence of death in GW2, the problem is that writers decided to use murder (out of all things) as a center of plot, ignoring the revive-fest of their own game.
It’s stupid and kinda lame.
Hmm?
There are at least 2 people that permanently die in the Personal story.
And as has been stated several times in this very thread revivable people = unconscious while dead people = dead.
Based on the Guide you will also be able to rewatch this scene after you complete the whole storyline
The wings do not drop from the Coffers
The Longbow is already very useful in WvW, adding these changes would make it quite OP.
Not all weapons are supposed to be useful for all builds. That’s one of the points of different weapon sets.
I’ve been feeling more and more recently that all mobs just get in the way in WvW.
Removing them all would probably be too drastic a move, but making them all yellow would definitely improve things.I don’t know about anyone else here, but AI mobs pose no threat to me in WvW and I just run past the vast majority of them. That slowdown from them initiating combat is a nuisance and just delays me getting to the next battle.
They do however attack dollies now and then, which is a good thing, since that means people will have to pay attention to them, at least until the dollies have a guard.
July 9.
All achievements (after they are unlocked, the last ones should become available today) can be done until that date, except the The Big Boom in the Big City which was only doable during the weekend June 14-17
Agreed, both this and the Spirit tends to steal away needed people from actual WvW:ing.
They take way to much time to kill and award way too little useful stuff and yet people tend to kill them anyway.
I would say it has to do with stuff making sense.
We are “hired” as investigators more or less, and they want to keep things quiet.
Having me running around with 4 other people would make the risk for it spreading much higher than if I did it discreetly on my own.
Main problem is that the SUPPORT yes, ANET support will link you wiki when you got questions… thereforth it is their fault for supporting a wiki they don’t manage but expect the information you need to be on there and correct… A company should never ever be referencing outside sources at part of their support. They themselves should have all the information you need.
The wiki is however not an “outside source” it is the official wiki hosted by ArenaNet.
It is however edited and kept up to date by people, and people can make mistakes. Simple as that.
Indeed, most times in this game the NPCs don’t actually die.
They get defeated, which would be more like unconscious than actually dead.
The Molten Foundry is going to be back as well as an addition to fractals. I am sure than some of this content will make it back to permanence somehow. The Southsun living story was partly permanent. The Karka Queen event line is now permanent. So some of it will go and some will stay.
That is not actually confirmed yet though.
They are talking about possibly adding it to Fractals, but nothing confirmed.
I agree on the molten foundry, but the Super Adventure Box is meant to be a seasonal even (like xmas, halloween, etc…) for April fools. So it will be back next April
Actually it is quite likely (more or less confirmed even) that it will be back way before next April.
Yea right..just like the asskickin they are getting in our BL right now, they sure look organised when it’s even numbers;)
I assume you were not there on reset-night then?
Ove course it’s a lie
False advertising = Lie
Its quoted right there in my original post.
You can delude yourself all you want and try to manipulate the sentence to mean something else. You can throw any factors into the equation you want however
False advertising = Lie
Yes, false advertising would be a lie.
Now there were no false advertising though.
They did NEVER in any way or form, state that the Rich Coffers would be guaranteed to give a ticket. They simply said that it dropped it while the Regular coffers dropped it (rarely).
But sure, since you seem so sure of the fact that it is false advertisement, bring them to court. If you are correct, you will win.
After Zhaitan was defeated, the events that followed were the reveal of Southsun, the Molten Alliance, returning to Southsun and going after some “known” villain who nobody has ever heard of, and now we’re celebrating a dragon festival? I can totally understand wanting to carry over the dragon festival from the GW Factions days, but I imagine if you were hosting some huge event taking place in the city that holds gates to all the major cities, then people who have lost loved ones to the dragons would cause an uproar that’s louder than the dragon hologram in LA.
The “criminal” in Southsun IS known, both to the people in-game and the players that played back in November.
And said uproar is quite clearly taking place. There are quite a few people shouting about it in Lions Arch.
There is also a reason why it is Dragon Bash rather than Dragon Festival. It is also quite likely that the
attack on the Effigy ceremony was made by people that really didn’t like the idea to “celebrate” the dragons
The fireworks for that achievement took place this weekend and are sadly no longer available.
They more or less feel that women are weak and have nothing to do in fight and should be home taking care of the cubs/child/whatever Norn call them.
Don’t really see the reference tbh.
Using single letters to refer to a person is something that existed LOOONG before Death Note was written.
AR are winning due to shear numbers no other reason.
And organization.
This is what I wrote. Developers associated blind rats, ex-slaves and very sneaky with the Russian people. USSR nobody won, and Zhukov was a liberator, not the aggressor.
No, they are messing with the mind set of the Soviet Union (and funnily enough, you seem to ignore the fact that far more than Russia was part of said Union)
I believe you missed the whole point of the dredge.
The dredge are a reference to the Soviet era.
It originally plainly implied that rich dragon coffers had a 100% chance of a jade weapon ticket. That was poor communication so let’s not let all the brouhaha distract from the fact that there is real reason to be upset with Anet over miscommunication and people’s wasted money.
Actually it was never implied that they have a 100% chance of a ticket. Anyone that claims that is either very naive or simply fooling themselves.
I have read every single release preview and patch notes, and I was fully aware before the release of the patch that there was not a 100% chance to get the ticket from the Rich Coffers (if there had been, why not simply put the tickets directly in the store?)
They didn’t lie.
Never have they stated that you have a big chance to get the tickets from the Rich boxes. They have only ever said that there is a BIGGER chance to get it from there than from the Regular ones.
People seems to be under the impression that getting these new skins out are free and require no work whatsoever. This is very much false.
Actually I am rather sure that they have said more or less from the start that DB would not count.
Most MMO’s tend to require actual payment in order to extend your bank. Same with Character slots.
Diablo 3 is not a MMO (even if Blizzard wants to make it like one)
No, in the original Guild Wars you had to BUY Expansions/Campaigns in order to get the extra slots. You couldn’t unlock a single extra slot without paying.
You don’t have to pay a single gem in order to gather stuff, since all things in the game can gathered with items available in game.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you have to pay $15 each month to even access WoW.
It has not even been a day since they changed the achievement count though. It is quite likely that it will be patched today together with the next part of the story.
The Dragon Ball has been confirmed as not counting.
The 8 achievement seems to be bugged though, but should be solvable by simply doing 10 achievement instead of just 8. So it is not like you are locked out of them.
Which bug are you talking about?
Well, the whole idea of Cantha being added to GW2 is extremely popular and highly requested (see the link in my signature). A developer has commented on it, and actually another developer talked about it a few days ago somewhere else (there’s a link somewhere in the last couple pages of the thread to it)…Cantha appears to be coming to GW2 at some point so it’s probably more a matter of “when”.
As far as the Kurzicks & Luxon go…Yes, they were defeated and conscripted into the Empire, but it’s also been over 200 years since we heard about any of that and just because they were conscripted into the Empire does not mean that somehow in the last 2 and a half centuries we haven’t heard about yet, that they haven’t managed to thrive as PART of the Empire, break apart from, be granted independence from, or any other possible outcome to do with the Empire. For all we know, the Monarchy has been abolished, and therefor the political and therefor factional situation has changed completely.
There’s also no reason why the people of those factions couldn’t have retained their culture in addition to the rest of Cantha’s culture, as many sub-cultures do in real life. There’s two and a half centuries left to the imagination so far, so nobody is really correct or incorrect at this point.
ArenaNet can decide to do what they want, if they want Cantha as the first expansion then they will make it the first expansion, if not then they won’t. I don’t think there’s any good reason to say it wouldn’t make sense, though as there’s all sorts of ways to include every race in Cantha, Elona, etc. The iconic cultures of GW1 should be very present in the direct sequel to the game, especially when it’s 250 years later, not 1050 years later.
Of course, but what you are talking about is how stuff COULD be, while the only real information we actually HAVE points to something else.
Basing suggestions or discussion on stuff that we don’t actually know is not really such a good idea (especially not since half the community seems to have a hard time seeing the difference between opinion and facts (see Wooden Potato’s videos for reference)
Which are all these “worthwhile items” that are free in other MMORPG? I am having a hard time finding them.
I would expect a required couple of hours live playtime per week in a company like A.net? Any comments on that?
Now that would be quite silly, don’t you think?
As far as I know no employer can actually force people to do something involving their company on their free time. And I would rather have them actually work on the game rather than playing it during working hours.
Is it really that hard to run tests for a few hours before putting a patch on the Live server? Today’s effigy patch has broken numerous events, which are currently stuck in limbo. If you’d tested for a few hours, you’d have caught this in house.
Hmm? Which are these “numerous events” you talk of?
All I see that is broken is the meta-achievement for the festival, so please enlighten me.
You also seem to be under the illusion that they do not test stuff. This is quite clearly false and anyone with any kind of programming knowledge would be well aware that a test-server will never be identical to a live server, so no matter how much you test stuff, there are always a risk that issues slips through.
Nearly ALL of the content released during Dragon Bash was bugged… It may only count up to be a “Few” bugs… But there are only a “Few” new features that came with Dragon Bash by that same standard…
You are confusing unintended usage with bugs.
Of those you listed only the counter and fireworks were actual bugs.
Have you or are you considering laurels as a reward for the winning server?
I think +1 laurel for everyone on a winning server would be a incentive, without damaging the economy at all. Those are time gated rewards so a lot of players would like additional laurels just to kit there alts out…
The issue with that is that Laurels are primarily a PvE currency, which would mean people that wouldn’t even bother with doing WvW would get more useful rewards and those that actually won the match.
I am quite sure that we have seen this very thread a few days ago (at least that very list and wording)
Moa Bird Racing – Not Bugged @ Release
Dragon Ball Game – Not Bugged @ Release
Achievement Tracking – Bugged @ Release
Mini Holographic Colossus – Not Bugged @ Release
Fireworks Content – Bugged @ Release
Southsun Events – Half (Or more) of them Not Bugged @ Release
Clearly there were only a few actual bugs.
Don’t talk dumb
Dumb?
The fact is that areas leading up to Lion’s Arch ARE the areas (in most cases) that the Effigies spawn in.
Its not counting for me.
Which could very much be a bug.
Yea I figured it out, Anet just posted that they are in the area’s leading up to L.A. which in fact they are not in the area’s leading up to it, they are in area’s leading up to the area’s leading up to L.A.
Actually most of the areas that contain Effigies are leading up to the area of Lion’s Arch.
The whole place in the map is Lion’s Arch after all, not just the center of the city.
No point doing the effigy anyway. Its not counting towards the meta achievement, just like the Dragon Ball ones aren’t. Stop wasting your time.
Any proof of this? As far as I know the devs had said nothing about the Effigies not counting for the Meta-event.
Check other areas.
It is doable at this very moment in fact.
Thats what I was afraid of. So all the new player (or ones who didn’t get to experience it originally) will only get a stripped version of the content.
And, once supply is used up, oh well to any new player that sees it and wants one.
So, what would be the point of removing them in the first place if they would be doable with the exact same rewards 5 years later?
The whole point of the specific items is to show that you were there when it actually happened.
Umm….. Fractals are for Hard Core players who can log in every day and get every achievement for every living story that comes by (which defeats the purpose of it being “historical” as in for people who missed the content). The casual player who misses the content in the Living Story doesn’t stand a shot in seeing it in Fractals. Plus, Fractals are random. I’d like to choose the story I want to replay.
Have you actually tried Fractals?
Lvl 1 Fractals is easy and can be done by anyone that have somewhat of a clue about what is going on.
Alternatively, they could scale the cost based on server population. It should cost less to move to a low population server than a high population server. (Which I thought was the plan, but I must have dreamed it.)
That is actually already the case.
My biggest problem is that this was a holiday weekend… Who wasn’t spending their weekend with their father? Even Game of Thrones pushed their episode back a few weeks ago because of a holiday so more people could view it because they knew people would be busy….
You are assuming that everyone that plays this game lives in any of the countries that celebrates Father’s Day this weekend though. That is not the case and father day is not this weekend in the whole world.
If they were to base their events around real life holidays they would be unable to ever do something in the game.
