This was discussed few times, at least. And its not the best idea.
I had different idea. Add the option to swap Shrouds to F1, like its utility. No matter what Elite spec is used you can change to whatever shroud you like, out of combat.

Well of Corruption alone dominates WvW fights since it’s unblockable and cannot be dodged while it converts stability to fear.

My suggestion:

  • Make it blockable.
  • Reduce duration to 3 seconds.

My guild is big and very casual, we have 20ish people interested in raiding. First week we tried hard and failed hard, after that we went separately and killed the bosses with random groups. Now when all are experienced, more or less we are able to kill the VG without a problem.
I’m sure that if we kept playing together we would of done it as guild, just needed to push more.

I have 3 sets. The 3 general options – direct damage, condition and tank sets. I am aiming for 3 sets of each type light, medium and heavy. This will allow me to play almost all professions and most of the builds. I also have healing set for ele. Working on druid set.
My point is, all this sets can be used by different professions

Staff is fine it just need tweaking.
Faster moving projectile on AA. And maybe 50% finisher?!
Skill 2 could add more bleeding.
Chilblains is just fine, maybe a little bit lower cd.
Putrid Mark, well everybody will agree, this skill was better, once… Need to transfer conditions for allies if they are inside its radius!
Reapers Mark, This skill need to deal a lot more damage. Probably also longer fear, 1,5s? 2s??? And its CD should be shorter too, 25! Also traited it could leave dark field, maybe.

Look at some raid revenant PoVs. I can link you 2 different runs in an instant, of 2 different revenants, using sword auto for 7 minutes straight, not a single other skill(except glint facets – not even activating elemental blast) and outputting around 17k dps when target is over 50%, then having around 23k when it gets under 50%. For a class averaging 20k dps from using auto attacks, you can see why so many, including me, rerolled. Don’t get me wrong, I love my revenant, I faceroll 99% of the content in HoT(I got a shield so I basically have facet+shield5 = 2 safety nets that make me unkillable) but its skillcap is very low(yes, even when SUPPORTING and dpsing it’s easy as hell, stop trying to justify reve as being hard to play- you know who you are)and the huge downside is that it’s boring as hell when it comes to long fights.

TL;DR even if reve is OP as hell, no good player wants to play a class that only auto-attacks any target from 100-0.

Exactly. In raids I feel weird and blessed at the same time. I don’t need to do much work and this allow me to focus on boss mechanics, but on the other hand its so kitten boring, the whole cycling between the few skills I use.

I don’t know what they do or why the new system and specs feels like they havent even got tested before release. Its baffling.
I almost don’t play pvp, as least the pve is still new and I have a reason to log in.

Same here. My main is necro and I prefer to play it over other profs. But there are so many buffoons out there, its sad. Quote from a guild mate (who think hes some kind of pro": “I would take only condition engineer in my raid group…”
And ton of the sort. When he said that I only smiled.
My point, do not get disappointed, you will find a group of people, if you look hard enough.

2 should of been 1s. evade. Why it isn’t is beyond me!?
3 well that will be way to powerful. Reflecting projectiles is a good idea, but blocking all melee hits its to much. Maybe 1-2s. of blocking.

yet the skill we are talking about is different. It should spin toward the target every time and deal damage with every hit in range of the target, but it doesn’t. All the warrior skills you mention, do what they are intended and miss only if the target is not in los or if dodged.

The skill will land fewer hits the further away you are from the target. But the problem is different. half the time even in close range it either land 1 or 2 hits or it spins in place and do nothing.

Which is exactly what I meant, sorry if that wasn’t clear.
If you’re at point blank and use the skill, you’re less likely to encounter the issue of “interlocking” (for the lack of a better word) and missing the enemy despite being in front of them. I only ever have that issue if I charge at them from a distance.

The range of 130 and 170 on GS 1 and 2 are way to low. The ranges need to be like 200+, it’s a great long sword off course?

agreed AA-170, GD -200
Warrior GS has 130 range, but its attacks are faster. Till now nobody complained about its range, because of the speed.

Ok RS and GD has 170, my mistake. But after I checked they unified all melee weapons, which doesn’t make much sense. Longer weapons with slower attacks must have longer range, even if its only 20-40…

I can attune a ring only if it was unused or had no infusions before. The one I stripped with the tool are not showing in Mystic Forge.
Is this a bug or is it intentional?

GS is viable in PvP, the problem is the AA.

The problems in my opinion:
-AA is to slow. If they separate the Chill between 2nd and 3rd strike might get better.
-GD need a little bid wider range 200-220. Also if it can hit twice instead of once. First hit when it swing to the right(lower damage then the 2nd) and again when the character spin, the execution strike. This way will deal at least
some damage even if the enemy dodge the rest.
-Grasping Darkness is still showing odd behaviour, the range is ok now.

They are more powerful, or weaker, because metabuilder isnt there to hold your hand yet. Theres no builds that factor in the new skills for people to copy and paste, and are realizing that they aren’t as good as they think they are when there isnt someone there to tell them how to play.

I went through 10 Reaper builds before I found one that works really well. That means I had 9 builds that were either semi-good, or got completely roflstomped.

It’s bad because shouts are bad.

A full bar of shouts gives you only one stun break, and one condition transfer (if you don’t get the transfer, you don’t get the condition removed). There’s no blast finishers, no movement utility and no stability in the set. You need a whole lot of other missing utility before you need chil.

Its bad because chill is too short.

A 1.2 second chill is almost nothing. Plus chill only stacks three times. So having one of your three stacks as a lousy 1.2 second chill is bad.

A full bar of 5 shouts gets you like 10 seconds of chill per minute? Thats lousy uptime.

Its bad because the range of the runes is short.

Also what is the toughness doing there? Power/Toughness… Is this what anybody would have chosen? Necromancer does have a toughness nodifier in death magic, so it’s not totally random, but I would rather have had condition duration (longer chills) vitality (does double duty for Reapers), or Ferocity.

I agree that it need another stun breaker, but the rest is unnecessary. You have other utilities! Sacrifice one thing to get another.

Nemesis Part 2 Delayed?

Probably 2/3 of the bosses in the game are faster to kill with direct damage, and the berserker/Fbow meta is the pure implementation of this. Thats why people demand it. Its a bit faster to complete a dungeon that way.
On other hand many of this super fast parties wipe a lot and all the respawning and running back is balancing the total “dungeon run” time in the end. There are some well oiled parties that wipe rarely and they have the slight advantage.
BUT unless you are doing some record or competition, the time wasted in non zerk group is negligible.

No, as I said, they’re kicked because most rangers and necs don’t know their class + don’t bring a thing for the party on top of that, that’s why lots of people don’t want to take the risk. Necro had that issue for a long time because there was virtually nothing of importance Nec had that another class couldn’t do better
Also, being good/useful doesn’t mean optimal, that’s important too.

This is bs. How can you know if a necro is good or not. We are being kicked instantly. Its the mindset behind this, not an actual reason.

So I unlocked the three first abilities in the reaper specialization: Greatsword Proficiency, Shroud Knight/Reaper’s Shroud, and “your soul is mine.” However, with all this, I am still unable to wield my greatsword. Why is that?

This might be a dumb question but,have you changed one of your three trait lines for the Reaper line?….

It’s not an option either, I tried but it’s not on the list.

I didn’t used it much yet, but I saw the animation glitch too, several times. It doesnt rise the scythe. Which is ok for pvp ;D
