What about healing skill with 2 options. Hit it once and you get standart heal 1 sec cast time. But if you hit it again before this 1 sec is over you instantly go in Shroud with 33% LF and generate LF per sec, 8-10 pulses. Even if the shroud is on CD resets and all Shroud skills reset as well.

All sound well, and then SR need to get something more interesting to compete with the rest. Would be great if they make DS not the base Shroud, but to make it special like RS and add some altering traits. To make it the better mid range shroud it is.
After all we got so many Positive changes lately, who knows…

How does making it baseline (meaning standard degeneration rate for any necromancer with or without traits) make it still mandatory? Base-lining is what we need. Making it a minor, as the OP suggests, yeah, would do very little good. If anything, making it a minor would almost make the situation worse.

But it still will be in Soul Reaping line! Or you suggest to be somewhere else

Gluttony is just fine as it is. If anything needs to be done about Vital Persistance, which is certainly an argument, it would be making it baseline not making it a minor.

This, because if you use Soul Reaping, you always pick that one.

Well from my testing of the reaper i was getting 5-8k auto attack crits quiet a bit thats a pretty hard hitting auto compared to any other class auto. The gravedigger critting in the 20ks inside a zerg or with a group of mobs is pretty much spammable for a short while as well.

Thats the fine part, the ugly part is landing gravedigger. And even more annoying is missing the first time and its going on cd…

Demonic Flesh
When you enter Death Shroud, reverse all incoming damage back to the source for next 2 seconds. Gain 2 seconds of protection when struck. Lasts 2 seconds, leaving Death Shroud cancels the effect

Pretty strong. Could be even stronger if you’re getting focused. You hop into DS, Flesh procs and all damage is reflected + you can get hell lot of protection.
Could be a very, very nice option for any PvE or PvP build and good defensive alternative for Close to Death offensive trait.
Combined with Near to Death, could potentially make Necromancer tank without going for MM.

Also, another trait, replacing Protection of the Horde 15 minor MM (I’ve already mentioned it in past):

I like the idea, but its way to powerful and entering Shroud is a defensive move by itself, you use your LF instead of your HP. I can see something similar but less powerful as a part of weapon skill. Or something like the mesmers “Blurred Frenzy”. Dealing damage and being invulnerable/getting huge toughness buff for short duration+reflecting projectiles. Such skill will be perfect for the necro.

Wurm Needs Change

All minions should be 3/4s cast anyway, but Wurm isn’t meant to be used as an unplanned escape, you are supposed to use it as a pre-planned one before entering combat.

Yes, Wurm its personal one way “mesmer portal”.
My idea is when you use the wurm you switch places. The wurm burrow and emerge at your previous location and either knock down enemies or single pulse of big damage and poison field. On top of that it keeps its single target slow range attack untill it dies. On death explodes(not traited) and deal damage and again place poison field.
Alternatively it switch place and immediately explode dealing damage, knock down and leave poison field.

This one and Tornado always felt wrong to me. Getting just 3 skills that change the nature of a passive pulsing effect is rather boring. And necromancer already has Lich form as a transformation.

So I’d go crazy on this thing. Complete redesign. Rather than keeping it a transformation, I’d change it into an effect that lasts little and has a lower recharge but it’s very powerful in that little time. Something like 7 seconds every 90 seconds.

Instead a skill bar change, it’ll have three effects:

  • On activation: The necromancer gains 0.5 seconds of resistance for every condition on self.
  • During the effect:
    • No longer transforms the necromancer, nor replaces the skill bar, instead they get a shadowy effect similar to Reaper of Grenth, but darker and with a dark green mist flowing from the necromancer to indicate the range.
    • Toughness and vitality are still increased during the duration, but not nearly as much, instead, part of the increase is a fixed amount based on level, and the rest scales with the number of different conditions on self. Even with every conditions on self, it’ll be still less increase than the current version. With no conditions it’ll be just about 10% of the base vitality and toughness or so.
    • Attacking the necromancer will spread one of the the conditions the necromancer is suffering onto the attacker. This can only happen once per second per attacker.
  • On pulse:
    • No longer pulses stability.
    • Still deals poison to up to 5 enemies.
    • Still causes self-bleeding; and self-poison with master of corruption.
    • Now extends the duration of all conditions on self by 1 second.
    • Now transfers 1 condition from up to 5 allies to yourself, then gives them the corresponding converted boon (bleeding->vigor, burning->aegis, crippled->swiftness). If at least one ally loses a condition this way, the pulse also gives you 1s of resistance.
    • The radius would be decreased to 180, to leave breathing room in capture points.
  • On end: The final pulse will be a blast finisher that will send up to a whooping 7 conditions to each of up to 5 enemies, then remove any remaining conditions from self, gaining life force for each of those remaining conditions removed that way, up to 25% of your life force bar.
  • If downed: Getting downed would remove the effect without triggering the final effect.

I believe something like this would make it feel more like a ‘corruption plague’, a risky double edged sword that can turn the tides or be turned against you.

This basically builds up a critical mass of conditions that will explode on enemies when it ends unless they push you away or take you down. Best used under heavy condition pressure and with at least a nearby ally. With a deadly payload if enemies dilly-dally and stay around when it ends, and a little bit of support to move some condition pressure from allies to self.

In a week every player will know and run far from us before the skill ends. So predictable, and useless. All skills/effects must be activated, so you can choose the momment you use specific option. Same as it is at the moment. The existing concept is pretty good, it just need buff in damage and some additional advantages/side effects.

No way, you remove the most useful option in plague(apart from the stability), the Blind!!!
I also like to have some changes, but constant blind pulsing is actually the one thing that is beneficial…
The change it need is on top of the defensive use(blind and weakness) it need to apply pressure as well.

Skill 1: Add burn or make it pulse 5 bleeds and 2 poisons per tick. Also add 1sec regeneration to allies.
Skill 2: Add 1sec protection or retaliation per tick or both
Skill 3: Add swiftness and vigor.

Something else I think would be cool.
Add skill 4: Shatter your current stance(skill 1-3 are like stances)
Skill 1: Giving powerful burst aoe damage and healing, but putting the current stance in cd.
Skill 2: Aoe stability(3-5sec), Aegis, protection, vigor(or some combination of this boons)
Skill 3: Spread few conditions to all foes around you(similar to signet of spite, but aoe)

If this sound to powerful make the shatter skill to end the elite skill. Giving the option to save your allies/pressure your foes at the beginning or wait till the end of the elite duration.
Also make the shatter instant cast, so it doesnt interrupt rez or stomp.

Apart from the AA skill, which can hit for good amount, but its slow all the marks are great. You have bleed+regen/chill/blast finisher and more important condition transfer/fear/ and all that is aoe! Can be traited to be unblockable and to generate Life force. What more do you want

As mentioned before, the Axe Focus is for when the minions have been decimated…it still gives you options…:) and I hate being slow…lol

I think YSIM doesnt scale on purpose. The additional heal is in Life force, at least this is what the designers hint.

I like the marks as they are(ofc additional effects are always welcome!!!, but the AA skill would be much better if its beam like the mesmer GS. Its kitten slow projectile and can be avoided by even strafing.
The only downside is that it will lose the projectile finisher, but its only 20% anyway.
Or make it instant hit aoe, everything but the kitten slow projectile will be better.

The wall is ok, but its to weak to be utility skill. Guard/ele has similar walls that knock down foes and the are weapon skills. So, I agree the skill need buff/change/upgrade.

To teleport to mark its just plain bad. If you get another aoe marker and you can place it anywhere in range and port there, that is something different. Like Blink, that will be useful.
Its to good to ever happen and it also need to be stun breaker, for various reasons.

I would love so see “Your soul is mine” to give more life force. The concept is really great and it can get even better!
It can be changed to scale LF generation depending on our current health. The lower on HP you are the more it will heal you, but will give less LF and the more hp you have it will give more LF. It can have restriction for instance if you are above 90% or even 75% hp you get nothing from the skill.
I really would love to have healing skill that I can use with high hp just to get LF. I will decide if I need the healing or if I need the LF.

They need to be balanced separately. Reaper needs to stay melee-oriented to keep its theme intact. If you want a ranged necro, just don’t play the Reaper.

There is a solution to that. Instead to have both shrouds available at the same time, make them interchangeable out of combat, but not tide to the trait line. For this battle I want DS, for next I might want to use RS… Like every other utility skill with small arrow and you pick the one you want to use.

And this prevents people from just always using the superior shroud, how?

Sorry, I just don’t feel this is the right move. It takes away from Reaper’s uniqueness. I personally think it needs to be the melee necro and shouldn’t be able to swap into a ranged nuke stance.

Furthermore, this will hurt Reaper as a whole. It’s currently getting some great talents in the realm of survivability (or they will be great after tweaks) that would be too strong on a ranged class. If the Reaper could go into a ranged nuke stance at any time as powerful as DS, the traits meant to keep it functioning as a frontline brawler would become overpowered and need to be nerfed, thus making the Reaper weaker at the job it already struggles to fulfill.

It’s an interesting idea, and I wouldn’t discourage outside-of-the-box thinking like this, but it gets a thumbs down from me and I don’t think it will happen.

And which one is the superior!? Because I didnt find any of them to be better then the other one. Also having both available F1 and F2 also dont cover “chosing the superior”…
RS is not better then DS its just different.

I tried that yesterday, and yes Dhuumfire is much more useful and you can feel the pressure, but is so far from really useful. You cant sty for long in RS, your physical damage is low and sustain is even worst. Ele and Warrior just ignore all your damage through immunity. Especially ele, wtf its constantly immune to my conditions…
In the end to be effective you need to be in super zerk team so your pressure do actually matter. And then you are dead

-At the moment GS feels underpowered. Its slow and its suppose to deal high damage per hit(This should change, its beta!). but it doesn’t.
-Shrouds MUST be interchangeable. Its only logical if I use Melee weapon to want range Shroud. I want to be able to choose which Shroud to slot!!!
-Can’t comment on shouts, they need a lot more testing to be validated.
-The elite skill is very underwhelming. The aoe chill is ok, but the 2s stun…really. Many other professions have that as normal weapon skills. Still need testing to confirm if its way to useless or if its kind of ok…

The " stance " idea is quite nice in general. However I already see the problem with ppl that can keep you always at a distance. Shouts got some minor range of around 600 if I remember correctly. Stances would only work if you would fight in melee range. Necros does not have the mobility to make a good use of stances unless there would be some stability / stun breaker/ swiftness stance. Also the other thing is how long the stance would last and how it would be activated. We can go further with your idea, tweak a bit of stance effects and maybe make them usable while you are in Reaper form.

There is a resolution, but it will probably make them to powerful!?
Stance with duration that can be stopped earlier by pressing it again and the end result is a shout. Similar to Warriors mace skill 2 “Counterblow” and Engineers shield skills.
My idea is a 2 part skills that are stances for few seconds and can be converted to shouts before they expire.

OP, one thing tho, The auto attack in RS now generates the LF. So if we keep hitting we can , theoretically, stay longer in shroud form. Especially if we hit more then one foe.
My bigger fears is the slower cast times and the fact that GS and RS are both melee. Kiting will be even easier on us, again theoretically, and I’m ofc. only talking about PvP.
PS: I don’t count all the chill factors that will be playing a role in staying close to our target/s.

And something else I wanted to whine about. The almost insta cast fear in shroud now is gone. Now to use fear we need to enter shroud then to cast skill3 and then to cast it again… all that takes so long that it kind of make the fear pointless… Huge disappointment that one.
What if that skill is changed to: Cast Fear(1-2s) to target/5 targets. Press it again and you “Shroud yourself with dark armor that grants stability every second.”

I also think this is the better “tank” trinket. Most toughness + healing(most useful combination and condition damage is always ok, even in non condition builds. Also the dagger basic damage is high + it has additional healing and immobilize. I have tested it many times and this trinket is better then the cleric or sentinel.

AoE limitation is needed. Everyone who played Warhammer Online will tell you the same. The only other way to limit the dmg is to lower it per target hit. The more target it hist the less dmg it deal, but this will make the skills useless, so there is really no other way to.

Guild Trek is really good game, but it need to show only a Picture without name of the place. I was extremely disappointed to see half of my guild going to wiki and completing the event without moving a single grey cell!
