Yesterday I finished all 3 wings as usual and at the end after I went to put all the drops in the guild cache the Tower fragment was missing. Then I checked and the Legendary Insight from Escort also was missing!

Just tested the “2 mesmer new meta” and it just doesnt work as intended. 50% quickness still missing, so probably its better to have another 2 dps classes instead of mesmers.

Your chronos are just bad then.

Yeah got much better group later that day, still not as good as before. But people keep being confused why KC or Gorseval doesnt die as fast.

And you actually need to stand in wells if you want quickness. May not be the mesmers fault.

How is it helping when they write: build X is not viable.

My problem is not what i am reading from it, my problem is that they just so easily label what is useless and not, even though it is far from truth and they are well aware that every raid group will follow that labeling bs causing a lot of griefing. This is toxic.

That is why there should be disclaimer with big letters right in the begin of the post: HELLO THIS IS OPTIMAL BUILDS FOR SPEED ELITIST 6 MAN RUNS. Hello, this build is not the best for speed runs etc. not just: this is not viable. Posts like this pretty much doom any player that is maining class that is currently “not viable” for qT elitist speed runs.

What is worse, now we are going to have revs being insta-kicked from raids (yesterday i had to listen to chrono throwing tantrum about how rev is useless and we should kick him zzzz) which will result in a lot of QQ which once again will result in some massive buffs to revs and cause them being stupidly broken in pvp and wvw.

People are sheeps, they will believe anything… Just ignore this “top pro nobodies” and play the game. You will feel much better

Does anyone care to expalin why the last Changes are moving to a healthy Metagame Environment? Metagame will be just Mirror Comp and noone I asked likes this Comp. It hardlocks 6 Spots out of 10 since you need the 6 Spots to give your Group enough Boons for a very good Uptime. The next 2 Spots are Eles since Ele = King of DPS and it even looks like that Condi Ele is going to be a thing. 36k DPS as Condi Ele on Target Golem. If everything goes bad, Condi Ele will go to be the No-Brainer Condi Pick. So even Condi Picks are going to be Ele sigh

In my Opinion the Metagame before the Patch was much healthier than what we have now. Only 3 Hardlocked Spots ( 7 2 1 was still good enough ) and every Class had a Place in the Raid Comp ( well expect Engis even though they can deal a lot of Damage but well it has something to do with their Rotation and the Requirements of good Damage )

Since I doubt that Anet is going to Change the SoI Nerf and give Chrono the Ability back to give near Perma Quickness to the Raid, we need something else to crack up the Supercomp we have now. One Problem is, that we need 2 Chronos, 2 Warriors, 2 Druids to give everyone the desired Boons and Buffs. Nerfing these Classes won’t solve any Problem. You’d make them either more desired or they fall out of the Meta completely.

Again you need 2 because due to 2 Things. 5 Man Buff Cap and not having the ability to pump out enough Boons to ignore this anymore. One Possible Solution would be to get rid of that Buff Cap for Raids and go for 10 Man Buff Cap. With this Mirror Comp would vanish and you’d have Place for more Classes. This Solution also has to come with proper Balancing ( much easier with Skill Splitting ) otherwise we’d have Class Stacking Eles on most Bosses.

If removed, the boon cap will open even more dps spots and will make the raids even easier. They are not challenging enough atm, so that’s not the right direction imo.

To tell you the truth. These changes only affect DPS check bosses.

You can do Sabetha and VG easily with no Chrono at all as long as the mechanics are done right. In fact I have pugged no Chrono VG and Sab and finished them with decent times.

The simple solution here is, lower Gorseval/KC etc… the DPS check bosses HP by about 5% or so, and everything should balance out decently.

Also I did a bit of testing with meta DPS classes under the assumption that there is no chrono and no Rev, and the highest DPS classes are actually Condi Engineer and Condi Ranger by about 2k. Quickness seems to do quite a bit more for power than it does for condi.

True, but even now Gorseval is done with one or less necros and KC only with eles anyway. So in theory there is almost no difference, thats not the problem. The real problem are all the whining pu**es who will demand certain compositions.

This story holds valid for quite a few other proffesions as well, and tbh, most skills in the utility segement would easily be more powerfull then some proffesions elites. As such making slot 0 equippable by both elite and utility skills would be a good way to adress the uselessness of most lolz @ “gamechanging” -not so- elite skills and provide gw2 with some new options.

IMHO Jagged Horror nerf is good. It might seem bad on the surface but the build is fundamentally ‘broken’ in that it’s the only build in the game whose DPS scales directly with healing. By bringing Necro into line they can actually buff DPS without needing to worry about overbuffing with this build in mind.

Yes nerf was needed, but from 100% up time(with healer), now its 16% up time. Thats to much. Should decrease Lich form cd or increase the up time to 33% at least.
Now Lich form is back to useless as it was before condi changes…

My Cultist elite spec idea that I posted a while back had something along these themes. It got good Retaliation uptime, but also had a number of traits that made you more effective the more you got hit/the lower your health.

Same, part of my Elite spec idea also included Retaliation as one of the trait lines. Several skills from gw1 are damaging the enemy if it attack or use skill, so it fit perfectly.

When 33% protection healing robot(ELE) out of the game. The problem of HoT design was surfaced.

1. healing , CC , AOE are out of control.
2. off and def skills (REV ENG GUARD) is a stupid design.
3. condition stack —-> more clean, aoe clean, more heal —--> more condition damage/stack/kinds
4. more block, inv, dodge—-> less contact time —->more damage/more unblock/more boon/short CD —->more heal/more turn boon

who make gw2 become a spam game?

They make it happen so they should pay for it. This problem like a rolling snowball.

Honestly there should be a system in place that doesn’t allow more then 1 of each profession at the same time. Either the players need to swap or the match doesn’t start. Or we get the option to swap before we enter the instance.
This should be only in ranked, so the new players still can play their single character if they dont have the option to swap.

I play only necro in fractals(very rarely guardian) and I personally think the 4 necros + healer is ridiculous and pointless. The plus is that necros will rarely die and the run will be or rather should be easy and without wipes. The negative side si the lower damage overall. The condition ramp is slow and a team with 2 necros + warrior, ele and mesmer will do a lot better.
Another negative point is the healer. Necros do not need a healer. Some people will argue the healer is there to heal the minions, but well, I use blood magic and my minions are perfectly fine and even if they die I can recast them soon again.

It need revamp, no doubt about it.

First, the silly 1 stability is just lame. There are so many cc abilities that renders it almost useless. Need to be buffed to 2 stacks every 3sec.

Second, its obvious its meant to be all round elite skill. Having minions, marks, direct damage, condi/boon removal, cc and debuffing in it. But the result is more then bad.
Here are some suggestions, to actually go closer to this “useful in all builds” feeling.

Auto attack is actually one of the good skills… for power builds!!! … It need to be useful in condition builds as well!!!

Marked for Death: Worst and most useless skill of them all. Need to be changed completely. Or maybe put some of the condition viability here?!
Remove the vulnerability and put Torment(4stacks/8s.) or Bleed (6 stacks/12s.) and poison(3 stacks/6s). Also make the mark deal more damage, so its worth interrupting the auto attack spam.

Chilling Wind. Kind of ok, but it need to deal more damage again for power builds to be actually worth interrupting the auto attack spam.

Mark of Horror. This is still decent skill. But make it more useful in power builds. Maybe minion damage scales with power above some threshold(2000+ power?!?!)

Grim Specter, now this skill is actually good, but the projectile seems so slow. Its the old Deathly Swarm all over again. Need faster projectile.

PS: Now with the “new technology” where skills can be split between PvP and PvE, this can be done without making it broken.

Didn’t we discuss the Vital Persistence like a million times already…
Anyway, make it 30% baseline and another 20% with trait to hit the 50% traited, but still has slower degeneration if you use Soul reaping with different build.
And ofc this and countless other good suggestions along the endless line of this stupid(must have) trait.
By now I think they really don’t know how to change that. Or maybe they think its ok, or its to small of a thing to change…

New Bloomy isn’t bad when you adapt to him. I’d just like to see his HP reduced by a substantial amount (and possibly the champ gone, since it doesn’t bring anything to the fight except another large HP bar to be killed). Damage is already low during this fight due to forced ranged combat for most of the time, so why does Bloomy need bazillions of health in addition?

I think its HP is reduced, the “problem” is that it need to be in the green aoe to actually take damage. By “problem” I mean players who are new to the mechanics or are plain bad and cant grasp it, no matter what.

Its way better then before.
Many players who were face rolling swamp before now have huge problems, which is the only drawback, because I pug it mostly and often need to change groups until i get the players who can finish it.

I had a build set aside for a MM reaper (reaper for use of Rise), but was waiting till the patch to put it into play in case they nerfed minions in a major way, and they did indeed nerf Rise.

“Rise!”: Reduced the damage reduction from 50% to 33%. Decreased the health of shambling horrors by 25%. Minions now have 20% reduced toughness.

I’m assuming here that when it says ‘minions now have 20% reduced toughness’, they mean specifically the shambling horrors again, otherwise that would have been in general for the class notes, rather than under Rise.

Obviously Rise is the only thing affected, but it was going to be the main source of keeping up the sheer volume of minions – and the only reason for having the reaper spec over a different one. Just use Spite or Curse(depending on build)/Blood/Death. This making my necro an evil MM with a lot of damage and survivability. I honestly never used Rise outside of PvP and I never had any problems.

Since HoT I just can’t compare them to Mesmers and get disappointed every time. Mesmers wells are so much better… Imagine if only necro got the elite mesmer well paired with WoS and WoC.

And the extra effects you suggest is exactly what I mean with this threat and what Staff needs. My suggestion is just an easy option – more persistent damage buff. But will be happy with anything on top of what we have right now.

Staff has never been included in any PvE Necro build, at least not any meta one.
Staff is used in WvW and PvP because it’s the best way for us to get life force (despite locking us into Soul Reaping) and well, because there really aren’t any other good options. It’s a weapon you use because it’s the lesser evil, so to say. I mean to be fair, the staff utility isn’t too bad and does help out, but it’s still not great and the damage on it is pretty much kitten imo. I mean, what else would you take over staff, even if you had the option?
Staff marks should have innate LF-regen, we should be able to manually detonate them and the auto should be slightly improved imo.

Well said, especially the part where LF generation should be implemented in the weapon, not as trait. If there is similar trait in Soul Reaping it should even must affect all weapons!!!
We take Staff in PvP because of LF generation and 3 of its marks are decent, but thats not enough. We take it only because we have no alternative in both LF generation and long range. It need better and more persistent utility or damage buff.
And of course changing/buffing our other weapons is needed too and if it happens(I almost gave up hopes) staff will be even less usable.

Everybody who defend the current staff says the same “utility-based” bla bla, but in the end your in are left with half a weapon which does almost nothing after you use its “utility”.

There is no persistent utility!!!

It need to be buffed one way or another.

Two simple changes to Marks can make the staff a lot more usable and wanted weapon in various situations.

- As many already suggested. Make Marks trigger of downed players, but also all other non Player/NPC based targets (All destructible environmental items).
- After trigger all marks leave short time AoE with the same radius for 2 to 3 seconds. Think of it as weaker Lava Font that pulse 2 or 3 times. The multiplier can either be the same for all 4 marks or every mark can have its own post trigger multiplier.

This will make the staff a better weapon in both PvP and especially in PvE.

All Healing in shroud is necessary now

Ill be a lot more happier if:
- Regeneration heals in shroud.
- % of direct heals from your skills, traits or from allies is convert into LF. Maybe something like 1% lf per 500Hp healed. Or this even can be a master trait.

I cannot see the T4 listings in LFG until my personal level is 70 (5 levels below the next teir according to the wiki). I have the AR to do the first few T4 fractals, just waiting on the mats to infuse my rings.

I can’t claim credit on this as I learned this from our elitists EU counterparts nor do I ever require this… but the absolute non fakeable way to check for killproof at least until Matt is to have the person double click their" spirit quest tonic and check that they have the actual buff on thier buff bar.

Greatsword #3 Death Spiral will have its damage decreased and vulnerability decreased because Anet deems it to be too strong of a skill.

Greatsword #5 will get lowered to a single target ability to spite those who wanted a teleport on death spiral.

Death’s Charge will get an increased cooldown (15s-20s) because necros are too mobile which helps them be viable.

Spectral Grasp will get nerfed to 900 range.

Axe will become a projectile somehow.

Dagger will have boon corrupt on auto attack (every part of the chain)

Blood is power will inflict 3 bleed for 30s and self bleeding will be increased to 50 bleed for 30s to capitalize on the new condi stack update.

Nothing can save you! will be increased to 4s cast time up from 0.5s.

Focus will remain unchanged.

Spectral armor cooldown decreased from 50s to 48.5s.

This is only the tip of the iceberg ;D
