Although I am sorry for your loss, I do not think there is a way to get your money back. the reason is that Arenanet doesn’t have the tools to help you.

Restoration is a special additional service that arenanet is offering. Using a personal guild for storage is a trick your using. guildbanks are never designed to be used like this. So it doesn’t matter if this is a 1 person guild or a 500 person guild. Arennet does not get involved in guild affairs.

So basicly they dont have tools for this.

I got my main elementalist to level 80 a month and a half ago and still have not gotten an exotic drop. Wvw has done me nothing, champ and world boss events have gotten me nothing, and fractals have done me nothing. I have 56sh magic find (last time I checked but that was a while ago). A decent way of doing it is by combining weapons in the mystic forge.

4 blues = 1 green
4 greens = 1 rare
4 rares = 1 exotic

Not a 100% reliable way of doing it but you can sell the ones you don’t want for some quick cash and buy one too.

To be fair, it is far from 100%, if you throw in 4 rares you have a 20% change to get an exotic.

For the rest, as being said exotic drops are very rare. Farm money and buy what you need is the best option.

This one has still no upgrade slot, but it has agony resistance and ascended stats, resulting in a better back then exotics.

Evans have a fair point. But there is in my opinion a subtle difference. (Most) Mesmers prefer to fight ranged and change to melee combat when the enemy comes to them, while most guardians will fight melee where possible and change to ranged when melee range is too hot.

OP, to explain this mechanic, most professions can equip two weapon sets when they are level 7 and swap them out with a hot key during battle. (you can change to any weapon you have with you when out of combat, but in combat you can only swap between the two equiped sets). It is recommended to always bring a ranged set and a melee set. melee deals more damage, but offcourse you recieve more damage too in that range. The armor level and your personal protection decides how long and good you can survive at melee range.

Can you please add which other jumping puzzles you did that day (from the last daily reset).
The bug is likely a known issue, where some chests are twins. A known example is Weynandts reverie and Chaos Crystal cavern. If you done one, the other chest can’t be looted.

So it is for support important to find the twin in this case. You can help them by telling which ones you also did.

As mentioned in a different thread, this game is played by people all over the world and more important of all ages.

95% off all the faul language is done by young men in the age of 15-25 years from Northern America or Western Europe. I do understand that in highschools and colleges this language is considered normal, but in many other cultures it is not.

Speaking in mapchat is speaking in a public place. So your ban is indeed done correctly and I’m afraid you need to serve the time. Arenanet doesn’t have tools to ban you from public chat. They could develop them, but I do not think it is fair to ask that from them just cause you and some others can’t restrain yourself.

As smooth is saying, 1 week is often given for a second offense. However in severe cases they can skip ahead.

If this is your first offense and those two things are the only things you said (so just swearing, no hate speech). You can appeal the decission with support. To do so you need to file a supportticket.

I would strongly advise to not question the suspension policy in the ticket. You did what you did and any appeal to let you off the hook all together will fail. But questioning the lenght might be succesfull in an appeal (depending on how severe your language was and if you are a first time offender).

prolly not. the TX.US login is likely your presence here on the forum. It is a known glitch. The forum account is the same as your game account, so the forum checks you on the login server and that is showing there (and the forum server is in Texas). Off course Texas is big so you can never be 100% sure.

I bought one before they expanded the limit to 12 and could not use it. I submitted a ticket explaining the issue and was refunded my gems in a few days. I was buying one slot and had already reached the limit (but I was blissfully unaware there even WAS a limit).

It wasn’t a big deal, but something to check the limit WOULD reduce needless Customer Service issues like these.

True, but they did refunded you. The reason this thread went a bit out of hand was that some didn’t understand they do. they do refund you when you cant use the item you purchased, they do not when you can use it but don’t need it.

Isn’t the IP range authorization the OP is asking about already available? I certainly have a list under MY ACCOUNT > SECURITY that lets me manage the IP ranges that have attempted to access my account. Is this only available to certain servers / regions?

So the hacker can still log into the account after the mobile authentication has been activated? I find that very hard to believe.

When an ip (range) has been authorized it stays there till you go to my account and remove it yourself. I use the mobile authenticator, but never actually used cause I don’t log in from strange locations and my ip has always been the same. So the IP’s in my account have been approved with the old system (by email).

That is a good start for dungeons.
Magic find was a stat just like power or precision that was on your gear. They changed it to account wide and unrelated to gear. Now you get it mostly from luck (press ‘h’ and go to your achievement tab). you can increase luck account wide by salvaging blue and green items (and eccto’s but most people agree thats a waste of resources)and you get cosumables (essences off luck), double clicking them fills your luck bar and with that your amount of magic find.

Living story is basicly temporary content that started shortly after christmas.
In the wayfairer foothills and Diessa plateau some refugees showed up. we helped them and it revealed they where fleeding from an alliance of flame legion and Dredge. the plot thickened slowly and we ended up fighting them in a temporary dungeon. After that we where pulled back to southsun cove to solve some trouble together with Ellen Kiel (she helped us during the first visit there in november). When that was solved we went to the dragon basgh festival, that was rudely disturbed by the aetherblade pirates (and they killed one of the lions arch council members) we tracked most of them down and captured their leader who mentioned someone called scarlet. Then Ellen (who also helped us with the battle against the aetherblades) went into politics to get the left open seat in the LA council. We all could vote for her or Evon Gnashblade, but she won. she gave us 4 weeks of reduced waypointing and a new fractals later this year. Then it was timefor the Queens jubilee (it is august now). It was the 10 year jubilee of Queen Jennah (leader of the humans). but it was disturbed by the same Scarlet who was behind the Aetherblades.
It also turned out she was the mastermind behind the alliance between dredge and flame legion. in the second half of august we thought her and her forces and she went out of sight. this month a new enemy has been rising (Tequatle) why or how is unknow. what the next month holds for us… well this was released today (and it starts next tuesday): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqe7r5MQdiI

Basicly, the living story is unfinished. The prime goal is to keep us busy and entertained till the next real content is released, but they are also experimenting to evolve this mechanic to release main content. Most off all it has been fun so far.

It’s not that hard to change!

True, your facial expression will be made at character start (all characters get to choose a charisma). You can let it leave it’s own life by just clicking answers on the way, but if you want to change it, the wiki would help you what to pick, and all you need to do is go to LA and talk to the speedboosting people with the right response.

Just wanna say, the pic two, number 2 is a vigil helm. But, I think everything else is correct. It’s also possible that some of the armor pieces are mixes, but Mercury got the general armor correct. I keep looking at pic one number 2, it looks like vigil heavy but yet not.

I did it on an ele (Dead of Winter, before the nerf ages ago), a necromancer (tangle of weeds) and on a thief (flower of death).

In all honesty Dead of Winter was a dissaster, but they tweaked it a bit, so it might be better now. Tangle of Weeds was okayish, but I really felt like that my minions and the npc’s where doing the most work. Flower of Death was doable as well untill you end up with only Trahearne and Caithe, so again depending too much on the npc’s.

My main point is that I really had no issue with kills when I was downed, while damage was very slow when I was up.

I am also working on my legendary. There are two very helpfull things to realise.
1: take your time. You should enjoy playing the game. That enjoyment is the real reward, the legendary only is a goal to have when being rewarded while you try to achieve the goal.
2: concentrate on one or two elements at a time. 30 gold also means a stack of t6 mats on the TP you can buy. I am currently also working on the T6 mats. I also do the champion farm. besides that I do a lot dungeons. this nets me bout 30 gold per week, wich I also use for T6 mats (and the tokens are for the mystic toilet in the hope I get my precursor). 2,5 months ago I wasnt even concerned bout the t6 mats cause I was getting my 100 icy runestones. after that I also gathered 100 charged lodestones.

OP, beside many reasons named here, another one might be that ore has an higher demand. Wood is only used in certain recipes for weapons. Ore is used for weapons, armor and jewels.

If your certain you are not responsable for your miss (I know this is sounding rude, but it is monday, and alcohol is often used more in the weekend, resulting in memory loss), there might be an issue that you account has been compromised.

If your scammed, please report the scammer. the scammer gets banned. you should learn to use TP only for trades (unless it is someone you know).

In GW1 people very often got scammed (and also never got their money back) due to a direct trade system. In GW2 they introduced a tradepost to prevent this from happening.

Arenanet does not react to suggestions. They read them all (according to the sticky) but they NEVER react, so they wont do it here either. Also the whole purpose of suggestions are that the community can react to them and give their views and opinions. Asking people to not do so is rude and wrong!

So without reading anything I say that I’m against this suggestion and hope that Arenanet doesn’t implement it. If you want my opinion bout this then please learn to post in a civil and polite way to your fellow players.

Other people are complaining that they are kicked just cause of a little networklag.
I know for sure that 99% off the afk’ers do not do this on purpose, and the hate against them is actually so bad, some people deserve to be reported and suspended.

Besides that, at Tequatl, when we are 8 minutes in and my map didn’t get more then 5% off, then I give up as well and go AFK.

I understand your issue and I understand it is annoying, but kicking people out of a map, where it often takes a constant pressence to stay in the map is ridiculous.

The main issue in my opinion is that they are over promoting Tequatl.

I link the revamp and I like the challenge, but it is too much of a big deal at the moment. They should have a more decent living story with also good rewards running at the same time. They should also not have an achievement where you are required to participate to get your rewards. This way the people who wants to kill Tequatl for the challenge would be able to team up and the people who are only interested in achievementpoints or sensational (living) story’s could go elsewhere.

What is your provider?? A german provider is currently blocking mails from arenanet. In any case you should contact support. If it is the german provider, the more customers complaining, the harder the case is that Anet has. If it is something else support is likely to help you.

When a moderator deletes a thread, this message is sent to all people who posted in it. So It might be that it is a threadwhere in the original post the poster was posting ‘false information’ and you reacted to that, maybe even to tell it is false information.

I agree, of the items the OP is quoting, none can be stored in a personal guild bank (except the blueprints). Boosters, ascended dust and fragments are all accountbound.

Server choice,

This game doesn’t use a mechanic to grief other players, no queue for a boss or for a harvesting node. No need to tag first either.

This means that high populated servers are the best for new people and low populated servers if you don’t always want to be helped with content.

the only advice would be to avoid the top 3 ranking World versus world servers in both NA or EU. the reason is that most people play that for WvW leaving the rest of the world rather empty.

As for class. Mesmer is not really a supportive class but more a CC orientated class with high damage output. It is one of the harder classes to level cause the high damage comes at later times, and the CC is good at low level, leaving it to be a class where you kill very slowly. For end game content it is a very fun class though.

the most supportive class is Guardian (melee), followed by Ele (ranged) and engineer (ranged).

your contact list should NOT be shared at all. This is an account based list so each account that is logged in has its own list.

I honestly believe that this is far more an error or mistake by Arena Net than it is by the player. Bank slots are account bound, and universal instead of character dependent. The programming should never allow a slot to be purchased if the maximum usable has already been attained. This is a downright negligent game design — a huge mistake by the developers and should never be blamed on the player/consumer. The thing that gets me is that A-Net went back and added a lock icon to the bank window that allows the player to buy a bank slot by clicking on the icon. Nice and easy to see — if there’s an icon you can buy a slot. BUT if there isn’t an icon you can buy a slot, too. This is completely idiotic. That icon should be the only way the sale can be completed — otherwise it is a useless tool. Players who don’t have the icon don’t know that it existed to begin with. I can see having an ad in the gem store that if clicked opens your bank window and points you to the lock icon to make the actual purchase, but making the actual sale through the gem store without the programming first checking to see if the item can be used is poor design and certainly not the fault of the player.

Arena Net needs to accept responsibility for their own mistakes with this incredibly poor programming, and refund the gems each and every time, without making the customer send 3 or 4 tickets arguing the point before the refund is made.

Having the icon as the only way to buy a bank slot would remove an important feature to give away bankslots.

On top of that, this is not bout buying bankslots when you have unlocked all possible slots. Arenanet has encouraged the OP to contact support.

The main discussions here however is bout a separate case where people bought more unlocks then they actually needed and want a refund.

The reason Gaile asked the OP here to contact support anyway is cause there is a subtle difference here.

just a usefull tip I see many guilds using now this is missing.
a: make a rank and give it a fancy name (something people wont find offending), give it the same rights as regular players
b: put everyone who you think has stopped playing into that rank
c: ask officers and yourself to watch out for people wit hthat rank. if someone is online (and laternatly also representing) in that rank, to change the rank to a normal member.
d: After 1-2 months you kick all people with that rank and mark a new group with that rank if needed.

If you want an answer from support you should post a support ticket. This forum is fordiscussing support among players, reporting unhandled tickets and asking for an arenanet official to review a decission taken by support.

If you havent used the skin yet, the first question when double clicking it is if you want to sue it for PvE or PvP. You pick then PvP and it will be turned into a pvp back item.

If you allready transfered the skin to a PvE back item, then this proces can’t be undone (without destroying the skin) and the item is not available in in PvP for you.

I agree with IC here. The shop indeed doesn’t have a preview function. So you decided to buy it blind. This is something you do in my opinion on your own risk.

So I’m afraid the answer will be no, but you can always try.
As for taking away one finished, replacing it with another one and taking away an x amount of gems to pay the difference…No, that is something support definitly can’t do.

Nodes change spawning location whenever the map is restarted. Some people claim this only happens when Arenanet manually resets a map. Others claim it happens when a map is completly empty.

There is no proof, but given the fact that I hardly ever see cursed shores reset but that southsun resets almost every other day, combined with the fact that I don’t hear reports of all players kicked from a map without a reason, I personally believe it happens cause a map is completly empty.

Bottom line is that nodes ALWAYS spawn at different locations when there is a new build for the game, and besides that they can randomly change in between builds. So no solid prediction here.

As for the respawn time. The wiki is saying they respawn 23 hours after the last time you mined them. However the talk page has discussion bout this and the last conclusion there is that more research is needed to test this.

After doing the three endings of the order introduction storylines for silvari I start to understand why Trahearne has such a terrible pessimistic attitude. If I was forced to play with a crappy greatsword as Caladbolg I would scream ‘This won’t end well’ all the time too.

The damage output for each of the skills is terrible. If this is the ultimate weapon of the sylvari I do wonder how that race even could survive an attack of ambient bunnies.

I discovered the best tactics for these three stories (Dead of Winter , A Tangle of Weeds and Flower of Death ) is to fight in the same way as trahearne. Either lay on the ground being downed, so you can do a bit of decent damage, or get someone else in the team to do your dirty work while you take all the credit for the work.

Poor Trahearne, all that hate against him while all we need to do is burn that miserable thorn in the fires of Mount Maelstrom.

I’ve done the Karka Queen now 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Very often it is announced in my guildchat and it might not be so active as e.g. the fire ele or the mark II golem, but it is far more active then modniir or the fire shaman.

The search function has never ever worked or performed good. I think that Anet should make a decision to give this crappy tool up and make a powered by google search tool. Google is allready 500 times better then the forums search tool, and it is there to use. It is very easy tom implement.

So please burry this crappy tool under a pile of dirt (may it rest in peace), and just ad a google search bar here.

Best would be to report this in game with a screenshot. then the devs have access to both the screenshot and the gamelogs

Actually he is most likely correct on the tools. Most companies that produce any type of software, including games, have dedicated tool divisions. These programmers usually create the internal tools that other programmers use to create and modify the actual commercial product. I have friends who actually do this for a living for a very large well known company.

Those kind of tools have nothing to do with this. Those are developper tools. They are very different then what is needed for this (a support tool). A support tool is an addition to the game that only support people have access to. anway, dedicated or not (and I dont think they have dedicated programmers for this) it would mean reserving budget. And my message is that to add this unneeded tool, they need not do other things. I’m against that ‘sacrifice’ and would be very annoyed if anet uses money and resources to develop such a thing.

Don’t worry bout it too much. Whenever you report, you pick the reason that you think fits best. when GM’s go over it they will use their own judgement. I think that the report option is either ‘harashment’ or ‘verbal abuse’ (cant check in game right now). Verbal abuse is something that would fit this perfectly.

I do wonder what you mean by hate speech by the way. My server has little hate speech what so ever (eu server gandara).

You started off so well, then lapsed into a truly ridiculous argument, Mercury. ArenaNet are a company with hundreds of employees and dozens of developers. The people developing internal tools are not the same people developing content. I’m very surprised that you think they are. Having worked at companies a little like ArenaNet, I can tell you that they are not.

The issue here is priorities, not money. A company like ArenaNet is not like a council. The internal tool developers will be working on something – the question is do they work on this tool or another one.

Further, there will be someone who can remove bank slots from an account. A tool will merely be there to make it so that some lowly CSR can do it, rather than second-line support or a developer.

So we would not be talking about “skipping living world content”. That’s just wrong. We would be talking about skipping some other internal tool which we would never hear about.

As for “Oh well people will learn!”, sure, some people will, but they will also lose respect for the company involved, because the vast majority of companies will fix this sort of thing. This is a market with considerable competition, and the perception of poor customer service, especially with things that cost RL money, is a serious issue.

I understand Gaile’s explanation, and that makes rather more sense, but I have to say, I think that if ArenaNet wants long-term customer retention, they need to be careful in how much they say “no”.
