Both have some unique haircolours, and the make over kit also has some unique eye-colours. So do you mean to expand that to e.g. earrings, tattoo’s and scars?? or do you mean this in a different way??

The new LFG tool in the game (friendpanel) is very interesting for this.

I would strongly advice not to go to dungeons yet. There are two reasons for this.
a: it is significantly harder at lower levels, this comes because you don’t have all traits yet and you don’t have access to max armor and weapons. It is more advisable to wait till you are level 70 or above.
b: Even though it is possible at lower levels, your handicap and fear to be slowing things down might grow worse due to bad experience.

That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t advise you to get in a group. In dungeons it is very important to cooperate with each other. That doesn’t mean you need to talk much, but things like knowing to look where other players are and knowing when to heal them or rez them is very important. By joining forces for e.g. personal story instances you get used to this in a more relaxing environment.

many race choices are limited and hardly noticable, but they all serve a (limited) function. Mostly in your home instance.

As for your personality. afaik there are no concrete plans to do more with this. I agree this mechanic is a failing one. I have suggested to make it decide your facial expression (currently sylvari only smile, and Norn always look angry. Make the personality change your facial expression.

as far as I know the whirlpool is very short so you have to fight him head on, but when it triggers is a matter of luck.

The comparison with gw1 goes away cause that was instanced. The mechanic like that is already present in the game for instances like dungeosn (though party leadership should pass on to the next person in party just like in gw1, that should be easy enough toi implement, if partyleader of instance dc’s, player number 2 gets partyleader, if partyleader returns, he becomes player number 5).

for PvE maps it is a lot harder. The biggest problem with even 5 minutes is that you will be missed. missing e.g. 10% of the players at Tequatl can make the difference between win and loose. The only mechanic that would be fair is the following:

The game remembers your location and map (including overflownumber if in a specific overflow). Every zone has a softcap and a hardcap. (softcap is the moment you get redirected to a (different) overflow. Hardcap is the moment you can’t join in anymore if you are i nthe party with someone)
If your connection get lost and log back in within 5 minutes the game tries to get you back in the map where you where. But your place will not be reserved. If the hardcap is reached you get (sadly) diverted to a different map.

I think that would be the only way to make it fair for all.

Why not combine things.
The boss timer is doubled in time (except maybe for jormag). But each player death removes e.g. 5 seconds of the timer.

I would really encourage something like this.
Maybe A guildbanner that can be soaked in with potions.
So if you click any with potions in your inventory you get the regular message with ‘please accept this complementary service from our guild’ with an close botton. but also an extra button. If clicking it opens a window (like a bag) and you can drag one or more potions to that window. After that you get an ok message, and it asks if you want to soak the banner with x amounts of potion y, you can click yes (or cancel) and your done.

If you soaked the banner in 20 potions, the next 20 people who interact with the banner gets the buff, it also will turn the banner in a specifick colour to show it is soaked.

Nope, you will loose the stats and only keep the looks. You also won’t be able too choose your stats when double clicking.

Are sure you didn’t spend them?? some monthly’s got reset on september the 3th. Before that the motnhly was a lot easier. if you finished the monthly then you won’t get it again if you finish it for the second time.

This only works for skins. So it is actually how to make soulbound skins accountbound. And it is actually a very old method being used since the beginning. At the moment most people have issues with soulbound stats.

1: unknown, the amount of players on a server are not announced, only if the are low populated, high populate, very high populated or full.

3: unknown, no numbers available. experience depends on personal impressions.

Keep in mind that RP-ing is mostly limited to PvE. Maybe some RP-ing exist in sPvP. but WvW is not really suitable for RP.

So yes.

As Tom said, a warrior who is afraid of melee is a warrior who has little to offer in game. Riffle is very nice on a warrior as a secondary weapon. So in those cases melee range is too dangerous, but melee attack are so much more powerfull, if you can stand the heat stay in the kitchen

Off course, using a riffle in your main slot and having that up at idle times and changing to you melee weapon when needed is perfectly ok.

For armor, also consider top hide your head piece. I dislike heavy armor helmets, but I don’t feel im missing it when im hiding mine.

ok, first consideration. The guardian is indeed dull in general gameplay. The challenge is to find a good balance between keeping yourself alive and helping your party. With that I mean I often see guardians that don’t use their buffs cause they might need it later. If you need it later that is good, but if not you are wasting it. So that balance is actually challenging.

Your words bout the warrior are right, but a warrior with beserker gear needs a good level of gaming skills (and in some situations beserker gear is asked from you. beserker is basicly high DPs/low protection armor).

I would agree bout the necromancer in dungeons. The problem is that a necromancer can make wrong decissions. For example one of the healings skills is a minion thatbuffs you and give you health when you destroy it. It is however an npc with actually limited health. In a dungeon it can be one hitted, so using that healing skill makes you very vulvnerable.

Mesmers are indeed awesome at level 80. They are good in dungeons, general PvE and even PvP and WvW. Leveling however is a pain.

Overall. If you want to do the highly popular but boring speedfarms in the dungeon CoF you are going to need to play either mesmer or warrior. All other dungeons welcome all classes (although some snobs don’t, this is the exception and you should wonder if you want to be in such a team).

I think you should go for necromancer. just keep one tip. Minions are nice in in general PvE and specially when leveling. In dungeons they are too weak. better is to bring lots of conditions then. Off course practising that playstyle in general PvE is advisable.

I think the first step in choosing your payment method is your country. In that step you should choose Canada to see the payment options for Canadian citizens. If I’m correct you can always change it.

Can you explain what you mean by that? As a customer who hasn’t made a mistake, but is an imperfect human being, and may make one one day, I would prefer that ArenaNet were lenient, rather than harsh, when it came to this sort of thing. I don’t see any way in which it harms me for them to be so, because the amounts of money involved are small.

I agree that it shouldn’t be a regular thing, but if they never help people who have made this kind of error, it certainly makes one wary of buying stuff with gems at all.

I mean by this that the making of errors is rewarded and therefore encouraged if items are replaced. If items are not replaced, people will more likely learn from the experience and pay more attention in the future.

I also mean that the reason they don’t do it is that they don’t have the proper tools. a bankslot upgrade can’t be removed from an account. To do so Arenanet must have a programmer write a tool for that. Then a Q&A specialist must run tests. After that the support people needs to get training in this. In the end , Arenanet is investing money they could have invested in other things.

I have been a member of city council in my home town, and was specialised in city council budgets. We challenged each others often when someone wanted something for the town, to explain what other things the town shouldn’t do to fund that.

So if you think arenanet should have this tool? what do you think that arenanet shouldn’t be doing to fund the development. Would you say that skipping the living story content in the month October would be a good thing?? So no new content October at all??

I disagree with the need for this.
Keyloggers register all things you type in. So there is no difference wether you type it here on the website or in the login screen for the game. if you have a keylogger, you got an issue.

Both a webbrowser as the game allows you to remember password. this is only advisable if you are the only one having access to your computer. It is a myth that the remember password of a browser is more or less safe than the remember password option in the game.

Fearing that you have a keylogger is a good thing, but like being said, you should also fear it when you log into the game.

There are some very good ways to prevent keyloggers.
The first and most important way is to have a good and secure firewall and anti virus. Do a full system scan often and make sure you are up to date. There are many free products you can use for this. I strongly advice to use free products. The reason is that many paid solutions use a lot of system resources, while not being safer. But most off all is that online security should be free as a principle.

The second is to check your list of processes from time to time and make you familiar what each of them does. Almost all processes can be googled. Keep in mind that those often say this is insecure unless you are using product x or product y.

e.g. Awesomium_process.exe as a process is dangerous on most computers. Unless you are using GW2. this process is an integral part of GW2. So if you have gw2 on your computer and up and running it is ok to see the process. If you don’t ow gw2 or don’t have the game running you might in problems.

As you might know or not know, the Golem Mark II has become harder due to some very hard AoE effects. There are however some very helpfull techniques.

Besides watching for the rings and dodging away, the most important thing is that there are safe spots. These are round the the place where the chest spawns.

The range however is 1200, so it is important to know what weapons you can use. You can target and reach the golem, but you cant auto-attack so you have to spam your range 1200 skills. To give a list

Warrior: longbow + rifle
Guardian: scepter
Ranger: longbow
Thief: none
Engineer: rifle
Necromancer: staff
Elementalist: Staff + conjure frostbow
Mesmer: Greatsword (prefered cause higher damage ranged) + staff

So basicly all professions but thief can use safe spots. For an Ele it would be really helpfull to bring conjure frostbow. For all others, it would be kind if you leave conjured frostbows on the ground for those poor thiefs.

Ok, I do see how a misunderstanding can arise, specially after a long day. I have done email support for a big company for a while and you have to go through thousands of words per day. It is off course not ok, but these things happen. He obviously misread it as you being someone who didn’t understand what the authentication mail means.

Keep in mind that the security of your computer may be at risk. This hacker has your password, so this means your password was either very weak or you have some software on your computer that reads your password. Support will likely get in touch with you soon with advise how to clean your computer and after that set a stronger password.

I just purchased a bank tab expansion in the hot sails menu in the black lions trading post part. I got the item in the mail and used it. My bank didn’t expand at all. I origenally maxed my bank expansions like half a year ago so I already have 8 bank expansion slots. So right now I should have 9 one bank tab expansion slot thats empty but it still not show up. I even tried rebooting my game and still not there. I also sent a claim ticket on matter. I’m just posting here just incase others run into same issue. thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I understand your concern, but please do not file a support ticket and immediately post on the forum. It is considered impolite, and on top of that you are putting more stress on the support queue.

This forum is not for individual cases and will NOT get your case handled sooner.
I am very confident arenanet will sent you a response soon. If they do not do so within 72 hours, please post your ticketnumber in the designated sticky.

If you get an answer and find arenanet could have done more to support you, please update the ticket with your concerns. Often it is a matter of not fully understanding your request.

If after several communications back and forth you keep being unhappy with the response off the team and you are loosing faith in a desired concern, you can ask an arenanet official here to review. The official wil then also need to know the 12-digit ticketnumber. Please understand that the official has no other tools then support has and can’t do different things. So if support is saying they don’t have the tools to help you, the official won’t have these tools either.

I’ve read far too many of the same types of responses from arenanet when it comes to refunds. i.e ‘we cannot do this, because we do not have the means to remove the upgrade’ or ‘we cannot facilitate a return of purchased goods’.

Here’s a question Arenanet? Why not just provide some these refunds to your dedicated players as a gesture of goodwill? I’m sure you can see how much someone has spent in gems – and for those who have spent a lot of money, why not just give these people a refund without needing to take the item back?

I’ve dealt with a lot of companies in the past who have offered goodwill gestures to customers who have supported them a lot. But I’ve yet to see arenanet budge an inch when it comes to refunds.

We are paying customers (and some of us are very high paying customers), and we have helped support your product. Help support us back from time to time.

First off all, you do not pay a monthly fee. So any purchase you do in the shop can be your last (and maybe, if you are unhappy with the shop you should consider that). Many off those others company’s ask people to pay monthly fees. This results in a profit that is ridiculous high and a budget that gives ways to develop tools. Those company’s want to do anything to keep you addicted. They want to be able to pay for the private jets the owners have.

The bussinessmodel of arenanet is such that you certainly don’t have to worry bout the wealth of the gamemakers, but it is not as much over the top. But in such a bussinessmodel, support is one of the costs that has a high pressure on the available budget.

You are basicly asking Arenanet to devellop less new content and less bugfixes so they can support people who make mistakes. I don’t make mistakes, and if I do, I certainly don’t ask for support. I do enjoy the living story and the new content a lot. Why should I get less cause people don’t pay attention??

Look at this from a different way. This is not a shop where you buy a product and can return it unused. This is more like a restaurant. If the meal you bought was really harmfull you can almost always get a refund. But if it is consumed, there is nothing left to be refunded.

I understand your concerns, but I do hope that Arenanet also take in mind the customers who don’t make mistakes.

It is difficult to judge if the reply was ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ without knowing what you exactly asked. I do think that the agent was being helpfull and somehow misinterpreted your question.

It is good that Gaile is reviewing this and looking into how this failing communication could have happened.

As for blocking an single IP from the servers all together.
Arenanet does do this in some situations. There are however also reasons tot not do this. Many times the computer behind the ip-adress isn’t owned by the hacker, but is a computer that has been hacked themselfes. For a hacker it is an excellent way to hide his true identity and it isn’t difficult. When blocking an IP from the server it also means the hacker simply moves on to an unknown ip-adress. So blocking will have limited effects on the amount hacks, but will result in a hacker moving out of sight.

Yip, There is no trial version or demo version off the game available. They do organise trial weekends. Those are special, weekends where people who get a trialaccount have unlimited access to the game for 1 weekend. So far there have been 3 of those weekends.
It is unknown when the next will be.

It is important to follow the storyline as Poebel said.
So meet crusader Hiroki. Let her follow you, kill everything on the way (more or less a straight line, but make sure Hiroki is following you and not lagging behind to kill a foe you have missed.
Defeat the attackers: just stay in or near the green circle and kill all risen. rez any npc’s when done
Then lead the children back, when you did the first step right you wont have any enemy’s on the way. but occasional left overs shouldn’t be a problem.

please add your timezone. the team will need this to find the right event in the game logs.

is this happening all the time?? or just often??. the reason im asking is that the skill is a combo starter, of someone else or you use a combo finisher, the combo might activate. I’m not saying this isn’t a bug but would like to know this.

I think its more a glitch. I guess you are on the edge of the dragonspawn. The shatterer has a different model and path when your in the dragonspawn and when oyur out. standing on the edge can make you see both. but the claim is that there is only one flying around.

My first character was an ele. I was playing it with someone I knew from gw1 who did the same. We where both very newbe to the world of gw2. I was learning to dodge, but most of the times he stood still and had some harder times learning this game (wich is ok). but he also had the irritating habbit to acutally dodge backwards, when i would be at 10% health and wa shiding behind his back. So basicly I got slightly irritated and tried to explain more bout the dodge mechanic, but we had a fall out. To not hurt feeling too much I lied a lil bit and said I had enough for ele’s and wanted a different class (making sure to tell him after level 15 so it was ‘hard’ to follow . I did make an engineer. My reasoning was that if I wanted to play with a stationary turret (like my friend was acting as) I better go for that.

I had a lot of joy and pleasure playing the engineer and finished that one first. later on I went back and borught the ele to level 80 as well. I re found my love of the ele and actually play her more often then I now play my engineer.

Bottom line: ele’s are very awesome, but not for beginning players. I would advise to not delete your ele, cause you will likely find the same love again in the future, but do start a new character and concentrate on that one.

My engineer was the first to level 80. My second was my guardian. It went really quick. Not cause the engineer is that bad, but cause the guardian is that good. I really had fun and it was very relaxing. A warrior is a good second suggestion, but as I understand you want a relaxing playstyle, a guardian can be build pretty tanky from the start, making it a -relax, press skills and kill- class. Maybe not as fast as other classes, but very relaxed

another question however. Does magic find affects the rarity of champion loot boxes in lower level area.

In a 70+ level area those bags are always exotic. but in lower level area’s the loot boxes themself can be of lower rarity. Does magic find affect that rarity cause it is a drop directly from a foe?? (and indirect the quality off the content of the lootbox??)

The language filter is not a license to swear nor any excuse to use faul language. I would advise to use the following 72 hours (if you got 70 hours that is cause 2 hours allready have passed) to think bout how you should behave in public.

There is no clear indication the mechanic has changed. I also don’t suspect a dev will answer this, specially not in here (this is the players helping players part of the forum).

If you want this to be found out, you could start a discussion on the magic find talkpage on the wiki if it is desirable to investigate this. They have means to record large amounts of player tests, where players can report their quality of drops from chests as well as their magic find.

Someone in my guild has over 150% (including guildbonus) and did a few fractals runs. The result where some very good drops, but mostly from drops, and not from the chests. So that is a tiny indication that the mechanic hasn’t changed.

I think everything that should be said here has been said. The discussion wether or not it is or is not possible to make a feature that prevents autoclicking expensive dyes, doesn’t belong here.

If the OP wants to make a suggestion out of this, please feel free to do so in the suggestions section of the forum. If I see it there I’m happy to share my thoughts bout such a suggestion.

The second 100% map completion should re-reward you again with 2 gifts of exploration. Sometimes (often?? always??) it happens that you have to revisit the chantry of secrets so the game registers that you actually reached 100% map completion and give you the rewards again.

I know several guilds who have a special rank. If you haven’t seen a person active for a while, they get that rank (many times the same priveleges as regular players). If an officer sees that person online they put them in the same rank. The log tracks when people got the rank, so you know when it is someone who is truly inactive.

a small tip when doing these is to follow (click the eye) the achievement so it is in the top right corner. It is easy to miss one and loose track ,this way you can see every-time if it counted.

I updated with the information necessary to clear my name from the exploit I was accused of abusing. If you double check all the crafting log, TP log and mail log you should see everything is collaborate with each other. I didn’t use any bug and exploit to gain unintended benefits.

Flash, your ticket is rather, old. Several days here you said you had a final answer from an arenanet official. I am truly sorry, but it seems your case is closed and will not be re-opened. You choose to ask for a review early without giving support a decent change to react and you did that in a matter where you where unfair, rude and a rumour monger. Your are I’m afraid out of options. Please stop taking time from the support so others who actually have a case can be helped. Thanks for your cooperation.

both spot 3 and 4 have enemy’s. So it seems that your enemy’s are culling and thats the bug. best is to stand in the area at a safe spot for bout 1 minute (e.g. right after you exit the tunnel in case of point 3). And you should be able to see the foes. kill them and then interact.

b: You did get a reply, but you are unhappy with the reply. Then please update your ticket with the reasons you are unhappy bout it. Again, if you do not get a reply to that within 72 hours, please post in the designated sticky.
c: after trying numerous times to convince support that you think you deserve a different answer, and the result is now that they refuse to talk bout the issue and say things like ‘this is our final asnwer’ or ‘future reply’s will not be opened’. And if you still are unhappy with the answer. And if you think you can get a different answer from someone higher up the organisation. Then I would aks you to explain more bout the reasons you disagree and formulate the reasons for your complaint.

That helps, thank you. I had no idea that the files were so big, or how the research is done. I’m more worried about the monetary transaction though. It just doesn’t seem right that I can enter in credit card information and make a purchase with a very clear electronic trail, and to basically get nothing for my money. At this point I would be happy with a refund of the dollar amount since they can’t seem to find the item, even though I can’t make the gem store purchases again.

The psurchase you make is gems, that is very trackable with a creditcardnumber, cause they get payment for that on their side. but those gems can stay on ones account for months or even years. to track that they need e.g. a date to narrow the search window down. Everything you do in the game is being tracked. So those files are indeed massive.
