Ok I’ll try to explain.
The champtrain wasn’t implemented to be a champtrain. The devs wanted to make killing champs more interesting. In Queensdale a side effect is that you can kill the champs in a certain sequence to have a pretty good income off champ-bags. However, it has never been designed to be a champtrain, it is designed as a starter area. I totally understand that it is annoying when you need to wait 5 minutes and miss a box. but your solution isn’t the right one. There are two valid solutions.

1: The people farming champs understand they are the guests in the map and ask in civil and polite way to cooperate with the train.
2: the current flamewars continue and just like e.g. Lyssa and Scarlets invasion Anet steps in to make it less interesting to overfarm it (destroying the train).

Obviously I hope for 1, but knowing some elements of this (mostly rather nice) community, it will be 2 anyways.

I disagree with this option.
When playing dungeons (where this issue is most up) I play an oddball guardian build. This means I took a lot of time and study to balance out a build that is perfect for me. It is the main reason I dont play CoF outside my guild, cause the elitism looks for zerker gear too much while that is total BS.

I never got any complaints bout my performance in dungeons. I give good enough complementary healing and boons to keep the team up, while I have a damage output that is higher then the average guardian. My gear seems on first glance very messy (all exotic or above) and without knowing my skills and traits you would think I would be rubbish. Even if you could see my traits and skills as well, most players would have issues.

If you want to do CoF speedclear (zerker gear) or high level FotM (agony resistance) it is perfectly ok to ask people to ping their gear so you can check it. I udnerstand why it is important there, but it gives people the option to prevent it to become the standard.

To illustrate why I am so against this. In GW1 there was something guild the zaishen bounty. The task was to kill a certain boss in hardmode to get some bonus tokens. They where very popular. One of the more easier ones was a T-rex boss in the maguuma jungle. Some warrior was making a party to do it and was advertising how elite he was. He demanded everyone to ping builds and gears (wich was totally insane cause the boss was easy like hell) and he demanded people even to change skills or weapons and kicked two people calling them noobs (and I know them, they where not noobs).

Ok after wasting way too much time with ridiculous amounts we go in and he dies in 3 seconds at the first regular groups (you could actually avoid those). The rest of us laughed, left him for death on the floor while we killed the boss in 5 seconds.

I’m not saying that people demanding to check gear/skills are all like that, but they are a lot closer then a good player. If you want to judge me, do so on my performance in the dungeon, not by a narrowminded look at my gear.

I’m not against people demanding to go full zerker in CoF, I just dont like that type of forced play. I am a good player but I play the game as I want to play it.

I think these scrolls have potential issues but I do think that the b’day gift is the perfect location for those who have interest in it. If you are inexperienced you should never ever use such a scroll. So it is good that it is only available for people who are very experienced in the game. The b’day gift is a great way of making it so.

That doesn’t mean you have to like it. I recently used one on my thief. I had created/recreated characters a lot to play all the 20-30 story lines for all races. So it was great to be able to skip that part. In the beginning it did fell wierd, but now im level 37 and I don’t see any difference anymore from my experience with previous characters.

I’m not saying you should like the scrolls yourself, but it isn’t a valid argument to remove it from the gift. As you said you have the full right to no use them and even destroy them.

I suspect that the reason the thread was closed was that multiple people where acting against the forum rules (don’t bump). Bumping threads is not allowed. Devs read everything, if the same few people keep posting in a bug report this gives false info on the impact. That is why bumping isn’t allowed and why the thread was closed.

This is not the bug, the sigil is working correctly. The real bug counts for all duration. If any condition is made longer by a sigil or a rune, the ingame tooltip of the condition doesn’t reflect that. It is however lengthened and working as the description is saying. So this is a text bug.

I have some issues analyzing your problem. The most important one is that in general professions that can support a group well are hard to play. (assuming with support you mean others then DPS-classes, but CC/healing classes.

Ranger is together with warrior one of the easiest classes to play. They do good DPS, CC and even can be supportive through some pets and healing spring.

Engineers, ele’s and guardians can do better support, but are harder to play.

So I think you have two options.
a: leave the idea of being supportive and go full DPS on a warrior (the only class that is easier to play then a ranger).
b: Learn to play and become a better player. I know I sound harsh but it is as I see it. I think Ranger is an excellent class to achieve this goal and being supportive.

If you are playing on european servers I’m happy to meet up in game and play a bit together. After observing you for a bit, I’m happy to give tips on how to become a better player.

Tequatl rising is part of the living story, whether you consider it to be or not.

It is possible that Zhaitan is still alive. Zhaitan gave Tequatl the Sunless a slight boost so the dragon lieutenant can ravage while the Elder Dragon is recovering from its defeat. One has fallen and one was risen. I am keen to see a revamped Zhaitan encounter.

Luckely the silly and crazy ‘Zhaitan lives’ theory has been debunked by the writers during a recent interview. He is dead.

The emmisaries sold two kind of skins for sprockets.
1: The sovereign skins: Those are currently not available in the game
2: They also had their own cultural skins available for silver and sprockets. So for example, the ebonhawk guy sold vanguard weapons. those where always available (and still) for karma in the town they are from.

I’ll ignore the remark bout molten alliance, but will state they are making a fractal out of that dungeon.

For Clockwork Chaos, I helped a lot of people with simular issues through, you can do it with a party of 5 and only one had to do all the pre-requirements (repeating the invasion bout 7 times). This could have been made clearer and advertised clearer.

Tequatl Rising: I do not consider this living story. That release was just a content update.

As for Twillight Assault: Keep in mind this is a permanent dungeon path. The reason is that Arenanet had a lot of critique that everything was temporary. This means the dungeon still has to be challenging 1 year from now as well. The (full) content can be played then as well. So there is no reason to rush.

The main issue is that Anet also get many complaints that the living story is unchallenging, too short, lacks content and is boring.

They have made some adjustments to that, but keep in mind that they can’t please everyone. Every choice they make means people will like it and people will dislike it. It is impossible to please everyone.

I personally disagree that living world has problems that has to be fixed like you are proposing. Keep in mind it is additional content and Anet is trying to please as many people as possible. I do am sorry that they are not pleasing you though.

I disagree with you that this is helpfull.
The strong power of GW2 (and Arenanet) is that they try to not be just another copy of allready existing games. This has allready challenged those existing games to change their strategy in the past.

I do believe that PVE can have more and better challenges then they allready have and I do believe that guilds aren’t as important in GW2 and could get some more love.

Arenanet is also trying to change those things. A good example is the addition of guildmissions. Of the games you added I only played Lotro, but the guildchallenge is very simular to what raids are in there.

Another example is the addition of the gauntlet in the queens jubilee. That was challenging PVE content. Tequatl is another example where Anet tries to challenge the hardcore PVE-players and is often called a raid boss.

So Yes I agree that there is a need for more challenging content and more guild content. But I disagree to copy something old fashioned as raids. They are working on it and they are testing new content. Things that will please many of us and in a surprising way. Be patient

I think Yargesh understood perfectly well the connection with the matrix and is pointing out how the look you desire can be simulated as good as possible.

This game however isn’t the matrix and has a different style and look. So you can only approach the look His coat (with gloves and shouldpieces hidden) dyed black (or simular) will approach the look pretty well.

There are some other options as well. I would suggest to go to the pvp-locker in the mist and try them out. As he said, most coats can be found in the medium armor.

I would recommend posting in the tech forum. Please include all of the above, but also the exact error message text and your type of graphical card.

I personally suspect this is because you are running 32 bits windows in combination with your graphical driver. But the people there know a lot more and also can advise you if you need to upgrade driver or get another windows version to solve this (if I’m right).

I’m not a graphical expert, but I think the correct term for this is post processing.

If looking at an object from far away it has less detail and less effects.
The same goes for all asura portals. From far away they have a skin with lesser details and when you approach the real skin is loaded. This is called post processing.

However, the ‘long distance skin’ for portals doesn’t have a difference between an active portal and an inactive portal, but always shows active, where the short distance skin does recognize that difference.

Now it becomes funny. Depending on your setting and that the portals will always be at different distances due to how to they are placed, it can happen that some show the short distance skin, and others the long distance look.

On top of that, due to the removal of culling, the graphical lag in LA is peaking a lot, making it so that the long distance place holder skin can be in view far too long and causing this randomness.

tl;dr – This is a graphical glitch caused by graphical limitations/choices being made by the devs. The portals are supposed to be OFF and are very likely for future content.

The fact that your health doesn’t stay above 90% doesn’t make the rune worthless.
If you have a full set you have 6 effects, only the 6th effect needs your health to be above 90%.

I dont think anyone would judge you if you go with 5 sup runes of the scholar and e.g. one rune of the bealfire, resulting in an extra 25 power instead of 10% more damage if health is above90%.

The whole idea of zerker gear is to use it in party’s where everyone uses it (its why I only have one character with zerker gear). The whole concept is based bout hitting them hard and killing them quick. From that pov, the first hit is the most important hit.

I’ve soloed this preevent, it’s not too hard. If it fails it repops in less than an hour. SB, FE, Maw, Jungle Wurm…they all have preevents which can fail as far as I know.

No, this one can fail. Yes you can solo it, but if there is someone there popping all the engineers out without killing them you likely can’t keep up. I have seen that people who did not know how to do this where screwing it up for the rest (and I do believe it was ignorance).

When during the fire ele pre, the golem dies, the event stays paused till you revives it.
When during shadow behemoth, one of the portals don’t get closed the event stays up forever.
When during (claw of) Jormag the crystals are not being destroyed, the crystal events stay up.

This is the only pre that has a fail condition and it is one that can be reached if an amount of people screw up by activating all locations without killing. Furthermore, the event timer will not restart till ‘Harvest kelp from the reef lurker fields so the Lonatl chief can heal his tribe’ is done and finished. (that is the event that happen at a fail condition).

No it is more and more complicated.
The formula is:

6400 + 8 * Completed difficulty * (Personal reward level – Completed difficulty) = Karma awarded
The (Personal reward level – Completed difficulty) factor is capped at 10.

So lets say you are level 12 fractals, and you are doing a level 2 fractals.
This will mean that your personal reward level is 12, the completed difficulty is 2. The formula can therefor be filled in:
6400+8*2*(12-2)=6400 + 8*2*10= 6400+160= 6560 karma.

Well, tbh, it is a personal story, so your choices are personal as well. I Recently did this line and decided to go for rescue but also have been doing revenge in the past. But keep in mind, the choices are permanent. Either you save your other krewemember and let your kreweleader get away, or you go after the leader, but your member is never being saved.

Have not tried this and while your analysis of what is in the patch notes does not seem unreasonable, “Items using a skin will return a base item with the original appearance.” is not worded to give me confidence that the skin is still present, tho the following sentence does imply that. I’m curious as to why they used the term “original appearance”, rather than “applied skin appearance”.

I get you are saying, “The patch notes say splitters work this way”, but that is NOT what is being reported by multiple players. They could certainly be anomaly type bugs, “user error” or all Splitters malfunctioning in this manner, but I would be careful telling others it works this way unless you have actually tried it and it worked for you.

The main issue is that the people reporting it where redirected to support and nobody (afaik) has come back to tell what the reply was. So it might be misunderstanding of the system instead of not really doing what it should do.

I see little questions (Anti answered the question) and a lot of suggestions here. I think this will be much more appropaite in the suggestions section. Although Arenanet doesnt react to suggestions they are (claiming to be) reading them all.

I would definitly recommend to go to USB, it is much better.
Also don’t get a wireless mouse, you end up with empty batteries at them most akward moments.

An mmo mouse (with skillbuttons under your thumb) is something you can try. Some swear by it, others don’t.

What AP said. Keep in mind that an account roll back is a one time thing.
Items in guildbanks do not get rolled back. if your in the same guild try to take (if possible) your friends guildbank rights away.

Also keep in mind that the game works with snapshots. so the progress he might had over the last few days might be gone as well.

Four months later, Stormbreak is still hands down the most unfun thing in this game. This was absolutely torture to do on a melee character, especially since it takes so long that all the NPCs die and he is exclusively focused on stunning, immobilizing, and dazing you. I think I used Daggerstorm 6 times over the course of trying to kill this obnoxious enemy.

I have done this multiple times (once for myself obvious) on my guardian without any issues. Might be cause my guardian has some very good stunbreaks. But also didnt hadt trouble on my ele, mesmer and engineer.

Point is that the instance itself could have a lot of work involved, specially for the scripting, but the end fight isn’t so bad if you know how to play. Stuns happen, this story is a great way to learn you that and even to find ways to counteract the stuns.

The rest of the story can use a major overhaul.
a: less talking, more action please. all you do at start is running around and having conversations
b: first encounter in the ruins: if you put down a green circle, make the whole area the green circle is covering a place to activate the spawns.
c: Second encounter, let the group on top of the hill actually be helpfull or reduce the difficulty of the spawns.
d: When you in the caves, dont show a circle deep inside where nothing is happening cause 5 miles ago a spawn spawned without warning, objective and when you actually passed it cause some npc was bla-bla-ing.

First off all I loved GW1.
However one of the biggest problems in that game was the endless amounts of skill combinations you could make. It resulted in builds that where making content way too simple and making farming both boring and silly. I never had a big issue with that in GW1. Who cared that someone was farming vaettirs four hours and hours and hours??

The most of GW2 however is open world. This means that it is much more important to have control over the skillsets.

I would like to see more eliteskills, but then ones that are tights to a single profession. just so there is more choice.

My personal opinion is no.
The reason is that I have played games with this option and hated it. The main reason is the aggressiveness off people inviting you for duelling. This game is very chat friendly and has a lot less griefing then those other games. duelling would ruin that in my opinion. If you want to duel you can 1v1 in the hearts of the mists.

when tranmutating your take an element from item A (the skin) and an element from item B (the stats) and combine them to a new item.

The mystic forge uses a recipe. You add 4 items and your get one new item out of it. This new item has its own skin and stats (so is untransmutated).

The capacity to be used in a mystic forge recipe is embedded in the stats. So when you transmutate the stats of quiver of swift flight with the skin of Rox’s quiver set, you can still use it in the mystic forge recipe. The outcome will be the stats and skin of Quiver of swift light (infused), so you will have lost the skin.

tl;dr – Nretep is right, only transmutate and item if you have no plans in using it in mystic forge recipes in the future.

Dont publicate any proof of botters. Not only are you advertising botting methods, but you are also harashing other players. Support is the person who can say if someone is a botter or not, not you.

The reason I’m aksing it is that the amount of bot-reports is going down. Where i saw them obviously and regularly myself at the start of the game, I now hardly ever see them. I do know that the times I saw bot-reports, people thought they where seeing bots and that was debunked later on.

I’m not saying that your not seeing bots, but I’m just saying the reports went down, I don’t have any refference or indication that it is still a big issue, and in what you are describing, there is no good evidence those are really bots. I often farm as well. And I don’t often reply to strangers. ninja party invites are rude and would get you a highway to my ignore list.

In game reports are looked into quickly and are very usable for easy cases (someone saying ‘kitten’ in chat). In these kind of cases your much better off with a support ticket. Specially cause you can give much more information bout the background and you can update the tickets with new evidence, making sure that support can follow and see the bigger picture.

Silvari and Norn both have very good reasons to choose ranger as their class.

hmmm, I dont really understand your argument.
Yes the illusonary persona trait makes the effect of shattered conditions more effective. But I don’t see the argument that both should be master trait valid cause of that.

Your basicly asking to make it easier to set this combo, making it more popular and available at earlier levels. So What arugmentation do you have that would justify that??

I also know that on my server the big guilds often have temple runs. I know of atleast on Tuesday and Thirsdays this is happening and happening succsefull.

Middle of the day is just a bad time. I’m pretty sure that if you check in tonight round 8 pm you will find several uncontested servers

It is not a friend request and you don’t need to look there. It is only showing those people that like you. Maybe you like them too?? then you add them to your friendslist, if not they remain on that list.

Karka queen deserted?? atleast not on my server (just regular populated, noteven very high).

The karka queen is far from deserted and many people are enjoying it.

The only 3 bosses that have different content types are Fire-ele, gollem mark II and Tequatl.

Tequatl is definitly not Raid content.
It can be done with a group of randoms and it can be done with little communication. The fight is challenging, but not over complicated. The biggest problem is that it is overadvertised. The special achievements and overpopulated maps encourages akitteng. Besides that, people should know what they are doing if they wanna do it.

But the times things where going well, it was often not over-organised and just people knowing what to do.

Fire ele has a very simple mechanic to do it and its called keep on moving.
Golem has safe spots, so its basicly the spam 1 boss as always.

I do think the timer is a bad addition and there should be different fail mechanics in place.

e.g. for Tequatl: if the bone wall is up, it also damages the mega laser. If the mega laser is hit 10 times, the event is over.

Also I think there should not be a penalty for failing an event but a bonus for doing it. A good example are the temples in Orr. Doing the events results in uncontested statues, making farming and mapping a lot easier.

I do not see that many bots anymore. Also low achievement points or having 3 minions up doesnt mean they are botters, many bots are indeed hacked accounts, so that can also be people with high achievement points.

The detectionsystem is pretty good, but can never be 100%. Reporting helps them a lot. So keep doing that. No need to change the system, but people need to keep on reporting.

gw2bear.com extracts its data right from the game. this means there really are no eu-servers at the moment that has it open.

There is not true way of predicting when it is open. You can track the events in the map with some other sites, but the fact that the event is up doesn’t give you any indication it is actually going to be succesfull.

Hi, I understand your concerns As a guardian myself im going for eternity (and i prefer focus over shield), but I do understand your issue.

Arenanet has stated many times they read ALL suggestions, but they never comment on them.

I do not think that Linsey is personally responsable for the decision to not change the weapon in the recent patch, but that it is more a team decisions.

Yes it is perfectly possible to still get the rewards.
The rewards have an increasing difficulty. The first 10 points are very easily obtained and dont require a lot of game play. After that it increases in difficulty.

0-10 points: 28 hours (2 weeks if playing for 2 hours per day)
10-20 points: 56 hours (4 weeks if playing for 2 hours per day)
20-30 points: 112 hours (8 weeks if playing for 2 hours per day)

Also it is advised to look online for guides to help you.
There are several tricks you can use to speed things up.
a: know bout the free gold all account get by talking to tolkano to recieve free tournament points for PvP and how to change those points to cash (was 60 platinum bout a year ago).
b: you can get a animal companion statue right away by making a pvp only ranger and a pve ranger.
c: Tapestry’s wich you need to add certain points are account bound. so if you want to be bale to add miniatures and heroes/animalcompanions, you can quickly level 2 characters up to level ten, run them to eotn and use the tapestry’s on different monuments.

Indeed, for frostgorge this answer is perfectly complete cause champs there only drop exotic lootboxes.

For lower level’s, the champs has a change to drop a fine, masterwork, rare or exotic lootbox. The content off these lootboxes is better when the quality of the box itself increases and you do have a higher change on getting exotic lootboxes and so better drops fromthem with high magic find.

Im running with 150 base MF, 20 amulet and 40 food (yes with the boon duration) so thats about 210 MF and i net 1-3 exotics per event in WvW with my guild.. about 10-20 rares.

I did salvage like 1200 champion bags worth of loot and 4000 ectos… lawl, and im halfway to 300

I do not think that this thread has the purpose of bragging bout your high stats. MF doesn’t influence drops from any containers, this includes champions bags.

It does increase the change off dropping the exotic champ bags instead of rare or lower quality.

Autostacking: No
Iften have several stacks in my bank of the same item. I do this cause I’m working on several projects unvolving e.g. crafting. (if im crafting a certain item i would group the materials together till i gathered everything I need).

Actionbar: No as well.
This is not WoW or clones alike WoW. The beauty of GW1 and GW2 is the simplistic interface. I’m pretty happy to not be forced to look at a few 100 action bars on my screen.

I’m not sure what you mean with search for them.
If you blocked someone you can go to the blocked persons windows and you can see if he/she is online or not. You can’t see the character name or any info bout his/her location. Though why would you wanna keep track of someone you dont have a desire to talk to.

If someone has blocked you, you have limited ways of knowing this. The only way is when someone is not reacting to you, but reacting to people reacting to you.
So when someone blocked you and is in your friendslist you can see if they are online and where they are.

Fractals.
this should give you that amount of karma.

The block function has two functions.
a: prevent seeing spam from certain players. Most people on my blockliststs are people who either are goldsellers or are verbal abusive in mapchat.
b: create a distance in a conflict between two or more players. The block function is not there to solve such a conflict, but in many cases it helps to create the distance needed to solve the conflict.

In this case the block function can’t help you. I do not think the block function can help here. But I do think that support can help.

In the rules we all agreed on the following is important here:

While playing Guild Wars 2, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the Game. To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, embarrass or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other players.

It looks (according to your story) like this person is breaking several of these rules.
I would advise you to report this to support. Give as many details as possible. This includes a bit of the background story how this has started and several moments this person is harashing you (date/time/timezone/servername/mapname).

Keep in mind that support will investigate this and will look into all details. This includes things that you are not telling here.

Support can decide to give this person a temporary suspension. If this doesn’t help and the person continues then they can make longer suspensions. In the end when needed and appropiate they can terminated his gameaccount.

I’m just saying if you know that the search function is busted you shouldn’t come off as rude and tell someone to search before posting. Not everyone is going to look past page one to see what is there before posting. Now let’s not derail the thread but maybe a bit of courtesy would have worked better.

I think that saying that search AND delivering the URL is a very good way of telling the OP where the information can be found. And I do think you are the one who is derailing.

The search function has never ever worked or performed good. I think that Anet should make a decision to give this crappy tool up and make a powered by google search tool. Google is allready 500 times better then the forums search tool, and it is there to use. It is very easy tom implement.

So please burry this crappy tool under a pile of dirt (may it rest in peace), and just ad a google search bar here.

I’m from “Western Europe” and rarely use foul language – You can’t just generalise with statements like that O.o
Have you got a reputable source for that statement ?

I never ever said that all men from Western Europe or Northern America are doing this. I am from Western Europe. and most players of the game are in the category, it is only a few that don’t understand how to behave.

It is true that in other cultures this is just not done. I’m not saying which culture is better or not, but in many other cultures it is still normal to punish (physically) others if they behave out of line.

I am not claiming to go back to that. All I’m saying is that people should look at the GW2 culture as one where this kind of behave is not tolerated. So many times I see people claiming here that what they said should be possible to say, from my standards and your that might be true. We are used to a society where this is tolerated and where young people are often feared. But as for GW2 we should have a standard that looks at ALL people playing the game. not just our neighbour. I’m happy that GW2 keeps that standard up.
