It is a situation I have never seen, so not a clue what they can do bout it or what their policy will be.

Also happens to my warrior who hasn’t unlocked the kill yet. Will go and unlock them and edit with the results. so be right back in a few minutes.

edit – ok very interesting, only the bottom one is showing unlocked. I didnt to do more to unlock it, and killed a few more moa’s, but the top one stays unlocked for me. In my skillbar it is unlocked like normal

If you insist in having a helmet, I would advise you to take a look at the order of whispers helmet.

(if your not in the order you can buy it with a different character, transmutate it to a white helmet to make it accountbound, put in bank, pick up with this one and transmutate it to decent stats.)

The ranger is very easy to play and master. The only problem is that it has a problem to excell. For starting MMO players it is however the best pick. it has reasonable armor, powerfull ranged attacks and a private tank..

From the three classes you are calling.
Engineer: fun class but hard to master and hard to excell. I like it a lot, but considering what you plan on doing, you might not.
Necromancer: can be good fun as a condition based class. Also excellent in countering guardian bunkers in PvP/WvW.
Mesmer: I think for pvp purposes the most versatile class. The power however is in deception of the enemy. So you really need to be a good actor to act being a clone and not the actual player to fool the best pvp-ers, most people though have serious issues with them. Also in dungeons it is the most welcome class.

The beauty of the ele is that it can be build for high self protection, high damage and anything in between. So I do support that suggestion by theodor.

Not everyone likes the playstyle of zerker. I got two level 80’s with bezerker gear and I can do it and have not an issue with it. I just don’t lie speed clears. I’m rushing too much in real life and come to the game to relax. Zerker is just too intense for me.

I have no issue with bezerker, IF it is advertised properly and everyone is running it. If you join a non speedclear you should invest more in your own survivability and not depend on others to keep you alive.

Just stay out of CoF and ‘Speedy’ dungeon groups.
CoF is a very lame and easy dungeon people farm all the time, they actually expect to do speedruns without advertising so. As far as I know, in all other dungeons advertising is done properly and in groups that are not stating it is I got never asked to even tell what kind of build I’m running or what gear I have.

Can you say the exact errormessage. a vague use of the word ‘security’ can also means you got a new IP-adress and need to re-authenticate your account.

Also please tell us the brand and model of the modem. With some of them you need to configure the device itself a bit.

I saved up till I had stack and I am dumping the rest. They wont make the acquisition for these things easier. they aremaking money on gemstore items. If you don’t want stones delete them. But please support the game by using the gemstore for the stones.

It is a free to play game, so a bit of support is important.

I do believe that the end reward are not in line with the champion loot. but we honestly don’t need yet another thread bout this. I’ve given my opinion bout an easy fix ages ago and repeated it several times now.

Let me know if this is in there and I just missed it, even if the method is convoluted.
Certain places I find myself going to over and over and over. No more need to look at the map or scroll around trying to relocate the waypoint. Just click on the button you have the waypoint set to and like magic you get instantly teleported to that waypoint.

The ‘do you really want to travel’ message can not be turned off, but can be bypassed, just double click on the waypoint.

I do not think that binding a waypoint to a key will happen, but I do have a nice suggestion.

a: create an extra tab.
b: allow only pm’s to be shown there.
c: ping yourself the important waypoints.
d: use that to quickly go to the right waypoint.
(you can even lookup the chatcodes on the wiki, and have a notepad-text on your dekstop that you can copy/paste to re-create the list).

Ow, I would love if this was ment to be, and wouldnt be surprised at all. Anet is known to make lil jokes like this. It makes sense, after the event some bloons got away and a dev decided to put some of them in a remote place like frostgorge.

As being said, I am spending my money all the time as well, but that doesn’t mean I don’t make money easy. I’m hunting for my legendary (sunrise) and have been spending all mymoney on it. Cause I tend to spent money on the wrong things, I have been spending it in small bits. It took me bout 2 weeks to get 100 icy runestones (so that means I basicly got 100 gold in two weeks times) and I got my 95 charged lodestones in bout 5-6 weeks (bout 230 gold).

So the trick is to stop spending money.

The ‘go to the heart of the mists’ button changes to ‘leave the heart of the mists’ when there as well doing the same. But loading into the heart of the mists takes forever, while eotn is much quicker.

I do understand your concerns.
You can’t prevent to get flagged for two reasons. The first is that the exact flagging system is a secret, so RMT and goldsellers can’t bypass it. The second is cause it is an automated process. However a flag only means that a GM will be checking on those transactions. I’m pretty sure that he can see that you are not a bad guy. You can help the GM off course by making sure your communication happens in game and all mails clearly tell why you are sending it.

I think it is very unfair to judge these things on travel time. The range of e.g. a longbow can be up to 1200. There are other projectiles with a range of 300. Some bounce between multiple targets, etc. The thiefs ranged skills work on initiatieve, so there is no solid cooldown or cast time, instead you can loose initiative making you wait.

Very true. Personally I use it as a break room, whenever I need to answer phone/door/visit lil mercury’s room, I quickly double click (only out of combat) and do what I have to do.

So all my characters have one.

I do not think it is a bug. mini’s use a certain skin and has a certain animation cycle. So it seems like an intended change in the design. However, I do not see any reason to change it. It might be that on they gave them weapons very short before release, and that an in between patch was taken with that pre-release change incorperated.

I’m really curious if arenanet is going to give an asnwer to this one. It seems odd to take away weapons from miniatures (unless they where dealing damage with them, but I doubt that)

The problem with the in game button to switch weapons is that it isn’t available for all classes. armor and weapons is more then just looks. I have no problem with people changing armor when out of combat, but in combat means you have an advantage (switch from high damage armor to high health and protection armor when it suddenly gets difficult).

as said, the orr explorer has everything to do with unfogging the maps and nothing with map completion.

Off course, area’s where something is for map completion can be considered to be done (although some hearts can be done in more then one area.
So you have to look for area’s that have no such thing.

So:

- Penitent path http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Penitent_Path : although this tunnel is the most used tunnel for certain event farms, it might be something to miss.
- The Artesian Waters: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Artesian_Waters : You do this one during a personal story

So the most logical thing your missing is Zho’qafa Catacomb so check that one first

thank you for now calling it flag. I do think you have some good arguments (assuming you are telling the truth off course). But it does mean that support has to go over a lot of history and it might take time. Like I said, be patient and it will be ok.

In this case I would encourage you to respond to the original ticket: ‘I kindly ask you to reconsider. The error was made due to networklag. As you can see I currently have only 2 slots in use and I really never intended to buy 5 slots, but I only wanted 2 slots. I allready started a thread on the forum and I’m willing to ask for an appeal, but I kindly ask you to look into this again’

The response seems to be pretty standard copy/pasted. Those copy/paste answers exist cause Arenanet gets (prolly) dozens request per day that someone accidentally bought (e.g.) transformation stones instead of transformation gems. and simular errors. Due to a failure in communication it happens that they filed this request in the same corner and gave you the cut off answer. often insisting helps to give you a response thats more personalised.

keep in mind that they where prolly playing on one of the testservers. These skins might not come with the tequatl patch, very often on testservers, content for the next 4-5 releases get mixed up.

Most often these situations means gathering a lot of evidence that there is something wrong (by arenanet offcourse). Each piece of evidence has to be carefully checked and double checked. Malediktus overclocked his cpu, there is nothing wrong with that, but for evidence that it is a client issue, it doesn’t count anymore. Also the continues speculation that it has to do with a 32 client (even after some very valid arguments against having a 32 and 64 bit client have been adressed) means you have a very stuborn personality. This will not help the cause.

Your case is not valid cause you overclocked. Please let this thread not go out of hand so people like Ameepa can be helped. He/she prolly has a valid case that can be presented as possible evidence there is an issue with the client. As well some others. Your stuborn discussion is keeping this thread away from the issue others have as well. I know you are the OP and I am thankfull for bringing this issue forward. But I ask you to let this go, so the problem can actually be tackled. I do agree that when that happens you will very likely have a solution too. I do not believe the overclocking is the reason behind your issue when others have it as well.

Memory problems are often very complex and requires multiple party’s to work together to solve it. Anet is going to need clean cases, yours is not clean (though your problem is valid).

the ticket has today’s stamp. So you either got an automated response and the end response gets in later or didn’t really discuss it fully with support.

I would suggest to first try a bit more effort with support before you ask for an review here. you can do so by updating the ticket with more arguments.

Also what I wonder is how lag is causing you to buy 5 characterslots, specially if you only have 2. Where you trying to buy one cause of the sale

Please try to plead with support a bit more and try to explain a bit more in detail what your goal was. If they keep refusing after you tried multiple times (in the same ticket, don’t open a new one, just update the existing one) then yeah, I would also be curious what an arenanet official would say bout this case.

Ok, I guess you dont know if it was running in a different map. Hopefully the devs handling this can find that info. The wiki is updated by saying it was happening in timberline falls, but the wiki isn’t accurate updated and they are missing half of the events. it might have well been someone who only saw the announcement text.

If this happens again I would go to blazeridge steps to check that one out.

I don’t pay too much attention to it to be honest and there has been no reports of missed notifications afaik. If im available I’m going there, if I’m engaged in something else then not.

ok, there are two important things to do to get this back on track.
a: Ask your brother to close the second ticket, that will only delay things.
b: Ask him to update the original ticket, he can respond to it by explaining it didn’t work and saying the error message.

If he waited for longer then 72 hours to a response to his first ticket, I would advise to post the ticketnumber in the sticky thread.

Ow I do have clues, but I’m afraid you have no clues. Those cases where for games with monthly fees. Not a free to play game. You are not paying for any service so you don’t have legal rights for service either. If your account is very fresh you could get a refund, but looking over your history on the forum that is not the case.

I do know it is frustrating when things like this happens. I also had it happen to my girlfriend once. But instead of ranting on a forum and telling rubish and engaging in personal attacks to those who wants to be helpfull, I comforted her and we waited patiently for an answer from support.

So please wrap your arms round her. Like I said, if you are innocent I know it will be allright.

Bout the time it is going to take. It totally depends. If it is a moment of not paying attention from the GM’s site and just a stupid mistake, it will prolly be fixed in a matter of hours. If it is a misunderstanding where it is difficult to judge wether this is an RMT or an normal transaction, then it can take longer. Like Sandra said, if it takes longer then 72 hours, please post the ticket number in the designated sticky.

The only difference is that there are two RNG’s, the first for the category and the second for the exact item in that category. But I want to keep it explainable.

Why are you even playing this game if you don’t trust them. I have no reason to believe they are making human errors.
I do believe that there is some propaganda by the RMT-ers going on who are trying to put Anet in a bad spot here. Keep that in mind when you are reading people claim that anet autobans.

Anyways, I know that (if you are innocent) that it is annoying, but I do think that this behaviour is the way to get your issue resolved. Anet has the right to terminate your account and don’t need a reason, thats what you agreed to when you started playing. So maybe try to talk to them and bout them a little bit more friendly.

I do play both and like them both. Guardian is rather easy to play and can get boring. The challenge is to make the most out of them when it comes to healing others (I got 4 ways of giving others and myself health, do I keep it for myself, or do I help my team, finding that balance is challenging) but for the rest it is pretty easy.

Thief has the disadvantage that it indeed is pretty uncommon in PvE if you go for mainstream dungeons and speedclears. however, when I run dungeons in normal teams I don’t have an issue with a thief, they are good on dps, so I’m happy.

Vista’s are often on high places where you have to climb to a special point. It is actual present on the terrain as a floating piece of paper with the same two triangles on it. sparks running down from them. So look for those floating pieces of paper and figure a way out how to get to them. if you are on an european server please feel free to pm me and I’ll show you one or two of them.

Make sure you understand the triggerpoints for these vets to spawn. That way you can trigger them without letting them hit the pact. Most of the times, the main team should be ahead off the pact, with a small amount of people at the pact themselfes. There is one point a vet spawns behind them, make sure you got the teams split at the spawning points for that one. The vets will go for the biggest mass of foes (so players and pact members). So players taking the damage for the pact is the trick.

Well then if you know the risks you know that support or others can’t help you when you have any issue. Case closed.

I honestly do not think this is an issue that anet should solve by changing mechanics. The system works fine. But some people do not know how to behave themself in chat.
You can politely ask people to call champs before engaging and if they do so, you can also ask them to wait with the attack for 2 minutes so everyone can get there in time.

But the rage that is going on by some players is simular to the rage going on during clockwork chaos. Please report anyone who goes out of line in chat. Nobody should dictate someone else how to play the game as it is going on right now by some.

I also suggest to Arenanet to have a zero tolerance policy against people involved in those flames. If you find the need to rage like some do, you need a cooldown. So 72 hour suspension should solve many problems. a: the worse people are taken out of the game for some time. b:word spreads quickly and others knows to behave themself.

Hi, this belongs more in the players helping players section.
Although the down state counts for all players, this is an issue specially for warriors.

I explain first how downed works for all professions
All professions have 4 skills when downed. 1 and 2 are attack skills, 3 is a special abillity (e.g. explode or put down a healing sign) and 4 is always the skill bandage to get yourself up on your feet again.

To recover from downed you either need to kill a foe, or get your helath back up using bandage (or being rezzed by another player). This way you get back up with 60% health.

Now the warrior. It is the same thing, but the special abillity (skill 3) is kinda special. It ressurects you instantly with 60% health letting you fight with all your skills and power. But only for 15 seconds. after that you are instantly defeated.

So you have to wonder if it is usefull to do so or not. That off course depends on the situation.

With the trait ‘Sweet Revenge’ you can prevent the defeat by killing someone while in ‘vengeange’.

Yip, and it is allready known. Maybe you can state what time/date it was (and the timezone). Also, the last time it happened, the invasion was happening but in blazeridge steps. Do you or anyone else know it was that again or this time in another map?

a: buying them on the tradepost.
b: playing FoTM and be lucky on the drop.

I’m not sure if this should be a gemstore item, or even an item. I would suggest to make this an ability for crafters and bind the abillity to the crafting level.

To unsoulbound a greatsword you need to be a weaponsmith, and to unsoulbound a staff you need to be an artificer. (trinkets need jewellers, back items to all 3 armor crafters)

Recipes are automaticly available when you level your crafting up.
level 50: you can turn soulbound masterwork tems into accountbound (soulbound on equip)
Level 200: you can turn soulbound rare items into accountbound (soulbound on equip)
Level 400: you can turn soulbound exotic items into accountbound (soulbound on equip)
Level 500: you can turn soulbound legendary and ascended items into accountbound (soulbound on equip)

The recipes do not change the items directly. You craft an item suitable for the thing you want to unsoulbound.

So for greatswords you need something else then for an axe.
All recipes require a stack of materials (woodplanks, cured leather, ingots) and an item from the crafting merchant. The items are as you are proposing going up in price for the higher quality’s. (but keep in mind you also need a stack of materials, so a bit lower priced to compensate). Then in the discovery tab you can select your weapon/armorpiece/trinket (even if it is in the bank) and the crafted item to combine them. and you recieve the accountbound (soulbound on equip) item back.

So basicly a good plan, but I want this to be kept out of the tradepost. be challenging but very doable.

I haven’t seen this post for ages and missed the question. Yes they have said it, but please don’t ask me to quote them. It has been recently confirmed by mods that they do read all suggestions. The point bout not commenting has been said a long time ago before there where official forums. In those time (pre-gw2, but during gw1) suggestions where made on the wiki. On the unofficial then independent forum guildwarsguru a discussing was going on that making suggestions was useless. An arenanet official (don’t remember who) jumped in and explained that they read everything but can’t comment or discuss them cause it might give copyright issues.

I think each and everyone with this issue should file a support ticket. It can very well be that they all use the same email-provider and they accidentally blocked it. Support can easily see that if they all make tickets, and off course contact that provider to explain why they shouldn’t block gw2 mails

Ok, just don’t file more then one ticket. They will not work harder if you file more then one, they actually have to take time to read your ticket, recognise it is allready under investigation and then merge them. So you are only keeping them away from doing the real job

Sorry, it has been fixed and isn’t a bug anymore. Still, you can only do the skillpoint when the temple is under pact control. This is as designed. People are doing the event however and it is finish-able.

The design is that the Temple has to be under pact control. The bug was that it was impossible to do the events to get it under pact control. That bug has been solved long time ago, and has been back a few times. Currently it isn’t an issue.

I have seen this happening as well but in my case it was in Diessa plateau and even master Nente in AC story was solid.

lets take 100% magic find as an example (cause it is an easy number).

Each foe has a loottable. This is basicly a list of things he can drop. The exact lists are unknown but imagine there are 2000 lines in the row. Some lines are empty (he drops nothing) some are junk items in them. Others are e.g. an exotic drop. The things that drop often (e.g. 10% change) have more entries on the list then the things that don’t drop often. When you kill a foe, a RNG (random number generator) generates a number. The game looks in the loottable for that line in the table and drops it for you.

Magic find increases the change of rarer items to drop. So with 100% magic find, the table is altered. the exotic item isn’t listed once, but twice. Doubling the change to drop it for you. This also means you have a lesser change of common materials to drop.

A notable issue when e.g. farming risen in cursed shore. The tier 6 mats drop from heavy molden bags. these are white (common) so uneffected by magic find. an increased change of getting a rare item means a decreased change of getting common items like these bags. So high magic find is actually a bad thing (do the decrease of drops of heavy molden bags is very minimal if even notable).

Magic find only works for drops from foes. So not for opening containers, like champion bags. However, in the case of champion bags, you might have noted there are different quality’s of the containers. You will have a higher change of getting an higher quality container.

tl;dr Yes, if a specific mob has a change of 3% of dropping one specifc exotic sword, 200% magic find will make that change 9%. Now to find a specific mob with that high a change. I think it is more like 0.03%.

I’ve been farming up for Bifrost as well and I know the pain you feel. I, however, do not think that Anet should make the legendary process any easier, as many other players do. These weapons are legendary. How does it make any sense to make their acquisition process easy? Only a legendary player should be allowed to wield a legendary weapon.

I think nobody said that the process should be easier or is going to be easier. The plans for the precursor are not to make it easier, but to make it require no luck. Luck has nothing to do with how good a player you are.
