I never do CoF runs. The reason is that everyone is doing them and it is too easy and too boring. I do however do all other dungeons and I try to make it not repetitive.
I got 4 characters at level 80 and am getting them the gear I want. This is an RPG, so although they have all the stats I want, they lack the looks I want the gear to have. This can be ‘challenging’ to achieve to be honest.
What also can help is level a new character to 80. Try to do it different then before (pick different story-steps and level in different zones).
Being in an active guild can be really helpfull. The weekly guildmissions are fun. Many guilds organise other events like cleaning all Orrian temples. Also it means you can help other guildmembers.

The overclock is rockstable, the voltage is higher than needed to run stresstests like Prime95 24h nonstop (I increased it a tiny bit to be safe after 24h test). The last bluescreen was over 10.000 operating hours ago.
But still it looses the warrant and you can never rule out this is happening cause of the overclocking. As stated, you are using the hardware on settings that are beyond the official specs. This is not tested and also Arenanet doesn’t include overclocked systems in their tests.
If I was support I would leave your system out of any research to solve this issue and only if a solution was found inform you to test it on your own.

So it’s impossible to get to Angvar’s Trove without having 6 people from your guild?
That’s just annoying. -.-Update
…or a ton of guildies from some other guild that randomly happen to be wandering around could open it for you.
Like all guildpuzzles this is undiscovered upon aproaching the closed door, you have to get really close though.

You get the gifts in a pop-up box, just like single map completions and world boss rewards.
However. There is a known bug. I would advise you to enter the ‘chantry of secrets’ (order of whispers HQ). The PoI there doesn’t stay registered as done and often has to be re-discovered to recieve your gift.

wait 12 hours and don’t be a dishonorable player again.
You get such an effect if you leave a rated match in PvP. This functions as a boon and stacks up. Each stack last for 72 hours. If you stack 5 of them within 72 hours (so leave a rated match 5 times in 72 hours) you get the dishonorable status. This means you can’t enter pvp-matches again for the next 72 hours.
Not a bug and this is working as intended. This system was added to the game on august the 6th.

Since you are seeking help with Guild Wars Nightfall, you might try this page: http://www.guildwars.com/support/default.php
@mr…the price to buy Nightfall from the official page (NCSoft) is $29.99. =)
hmmmm, for me Nightfall is showing for 14,95 euro. with the current conversionrate that would be 19,92 USD.

I wouldn’t call this malware or a virus, but indeed it is a problem with your pc. Also note that your lotr(online?) turned into something else then your gw2 icon. The gw2 icon has a default system icon. the lotr icon has a system icon thats not use on defeault.
It can be offcourse a clever virus. The difference between the two icon’s doesnt point into the direction of malware, but seeing two icons is very limited info to draw conclusions.
icons being wrong on shortcuts can be easily fixed by editing the shortcuts (and if needed by fixing the chache as abomally suggests). It is the cause that worries me however. Changing into two different icons indicates it is random so not malware. A virus can do this but it is basically just graffiti. modern viruses have a certain goal that is beyond to just cause inconvenience.
So I would advise you to get the latest updates for you anti-virus software and firewalls and do a very good scan. It sounds a bit fishy. But then again the really bad software would want to steal your account details and so not annoy you with changed icon’s to blow their cover.
Maybe consider a clean install to be sure though??!!

Hmmmmm, I expected a lot more issues with transmutated legendary’s. Specially cause it is so hard to track and think bout every possible issue. The amount of complaints show that your issue seems to be rather unique, so I think it would be better to make a support ticket bout this, it will ensure that arenanet will not only read this, but they will have to give you a response. I’m sure they will find a proper solution for your problem thatway. Good luck!!

No no no, this isn’t an exploit (and accusing people of exploiting is a hard accusation) it might not even be a bug. It is a short cut.
an exploit is when people are getting an unequal advantage that is too good to be true. This advantage isn’t unequal. You, and me can do it as well. So it is not an exploit. Cause nobody is harmed (we can all do this) it isn’t bad either, so it isn’t a bug.
It’s up for Anet to decide if this is legit intended or unintended short cut/exploit and not the the player base becuase of course the players base will say extactly what you’ve said.
You claim no one is harmed? Many people would’ve came in first running he full course like it was ment to be till some one takes this shortcut to beat them robbing them of progress of their AP’s. So becuase we all can do this doesn’t make it okay either like other exploits found in the game is a big NO NO.
Ok let’s take the rulebook out.
‘You will not exploit any bug in Guild Wars 2 and you will not communicate the existence of any such exploitable bug (bugs that grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits) either directly or through public posting, to any other user of Guild Wars 2.’
This one is in order for this debate. First off all, if this is an exploit the OP is in violation of this rules cause he is advertising it. That makes this thread allready pointless. cause if you claim this is an exploit, we shouldn’t be talking bout it cause it is adverstising the same thing.
The most important word is benefit. a benefit is when you do or know something other players have no way of knowing bout it, and you are harming them. the sanctum sprint is a competitive activity, so the only way to have such a benefit (to win) is to know something others have no way to know bout. In this case the method is obvious visable and detectable to all players who are good enough to be in a competing distance of the person using this short cut. So nothing is stopping others to do so as well.
Yes, it is to the judgement if arenanet to decide if this is an exploit or not. but just as us they are bound to the user agreement. So IF arenanet thinks this is so important that they want to ban people over it, and IF it is presented at a court of law that can judge in this matter (would be an usa court), do you have any argument against my explanation of the rules we agreed on when we started playing the game (rules written by arenanet). Please tell where my argument is wrong, just saying that arenanet might disagree is not sufficient. The rules applies to them as well.
But to make it easier. If you think this is an exploit . did you report the OP on breaking the rule on advertising an exploit as well

This is not an account issue and belongs in the tech support section.
I know it’s not my ISP because I’m able to play other online games smoothly without disconnections.
This is not true. First i want you to make sure this is network lag (disconnection over lag or clients crashing). make sure you know the error message. Assuming you get the ‘disconnected’ message. The fact that you run other games fine isn’t a proof that it isn’t your isp’s fault. On the internet, the road from A (you) to B (the arenanet server) goes over many roads and places. but you are the sender or initiator of the connection. so your provider decides what route is taken to get to B. The arenanet server is only responding over that same route.
The route can lead over big speedways and over small country roads. and the weakest link is the speed you get.
Arenanet is only responsible for the last bit of the line (see that as their driveway). most people are playing fine so that should be ok. So the problem is in the route your connection is taking to get to arenanet’s driveway. Your TomTom for that is your provider.
A Tomtom (or any other navigation system) can lead you perfect tot Washinton, Seatle, Paris and London, but can fail on getting you to Amsterdam and New York.
So stating that other games run fine is like saying that Amsterdam and new york are bad city’s just cause your tomtom brings you there over country roads instead of speedways (I tried my best to explain this in non- technical ways. hope you get it
)
Please feel free to post in the techsupport forum and include details bout your country, provider, type of landline and errormessage.
I do hope we can find a way to fix this for you.

That map is zoomed out way too far to get any useful information out of it. Any zoom level above 2 is basically useless for determining if you have uncovered an area yet.
Explorer is also unrelated to map completion. It is entirely possible to have 100% world completion and still missing various explorer titles.
I know… the point is I have everything listed and have been to every noted point on the map in the Shiverpeaks; hearts, points of interest, ect. Anything that for some reason isn’t counted on the side of the map isn’t something I have the slightest inclination of.
as stated; hearts, poi’s, vista’s, renown hearts, skillpoints, have nothing to do with this achievement. The achievement is for unfogging every area in the map. This includes area’s that does not have skillpoints, poi’s, vista’s, etc that count for mapcompletion.
But having it all does help you. You are looking for area’s in the map that don’t have things needed for map completion. So places like griffonhook run (only a jumping puzzle) or forsaken halls (only a mini dungeon) are the kind of places you are looking for.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
… I can solo my entire personal story, until I get to Victory or Death? Putting it in a dungeon requiring a full group is a serious design flaw(further compounded by putting the entrance to the story instance behind a group event).
I agree with your first line.
As said this is an mmo. you have every right to complain. They should have forced you to do things in a group way before that point.
In my opinion the difficulty of storymode dungeons should be lowered, but also be an integral part of your personal story. So when you hit level 30 you NEED to do AC to continue the story. Off course this demands some story rewriting so it fits all together. (something in the line of that your chosen order wants you in, IF you help Eir to do whatever spoiler she does in AC).
The moment that you are forced to team up with others is way too late indeed.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
but not where I die every other quest…
There is your problem.
First off all, there are no quests. But my advice goes for everything you can fail on in the game.
Your issue isn’t with a profession but with your gaming skills. There is no need to die every other ‘quest’ and it is possible to do everything in this game with limited amount of death without deaths (or downed).
The thing is I think you need to adjust your gaming skills to this game. I know it is not nice to die. but the solution is to prevent that. to make it sound very harsh, you need to learn to play gw2.
If you are on an european server, I’m happy to join with you, see how you play and help you. There are many common mistakes people make. for example, for former gw1 players like me, I was too much used to not be able to move and cast. I needed to learn to move and dodge. Your problems might be totally different. So either describe how you are playing when you die or let someone join your party to observe you and give advise.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
So no official response for fixing ? okay, i will delete this posts so we can have more bugs in this game…
No no no, this isn’t an exploit (and accusing people of exploiting is a hard accusation) it might not even be a bug. It is a short cut.
MMO’s are things played by many people. Very often the public comes up with things the dev’s never intended or thought of. Thats even how they design these kind of games and one of the wonders of it. In GW one they added a big monkey-boss. it took the players over 2 weeks to find a way to beat it, and I truly think even the devs didn’t know how it would turn out. they just had plan b ready to nerf the boss down if needed.
an exploit is when people are getting an unequal advantage that is too good to be true. This advantage isn’t unequal. You, and me can do it as well. So it is not an exploit. Cause nobody is harmed (we can all do this) it isn’t bad either, so it isn’t a bug.

Hronk’s sword is not white in stats, but on default it is ascended (though you can transmutate it to any quality).
transmutating means that you can combine 2 items together.
You got three choices to make
a: the skin and the name (choose one of either sword)
b: the stats, this includes the colour and the ability’s of upgrade and in the mystic forge).
c: the actual upgrade component (left out if not possible due to b)
So if you want the stats of Hronk’s and want the look of occam, you can use a transmuation crystal. both are ascended so you can pick the looks and name of one, and the stats of the other. off course it will say transmuted in the description instead of ascended, but it will be in ascended colour.
If you are not familiar with transmutating, I would advise to experiment and learn with lower level weapons and gear. both the cheaper transmutation stones and the gear are then mostly waste products and a good way to get the hang of things before you go to crystals and level 80 stats and gear.

No thats not what it is and it isn’t a bug. To get the Ascalon Explorer Achievement you need to discover 176 area’s in ascalonian maps. There is room for a lil bit of leanway so the achievement is not too much of a grind.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I understand your feeling, but it takes time to do it properly and there is an issue with most of these zones.
First off all, the firts year after release they took time to polish things up. In gw1 it felt like they where over rushing new content without solving old problems. Arenanet takes an approach to not follow the guided path by -insert mmo a, b or c here- but tries to reinvent the genre and set a new standard. This means they are not a productionline like some other gaming company’s, where they build on the same old things.
You can see that they are taking their first steps in adding new maps (sab world 2, queens pavillion, bazaar). Even if temporary, they are moving to the right point.
The problem with the maps you are mentioning is that they contain something called elder dragons. Far shiverpeaks are ‘reserved’ for Jormag. maguuma wastes is for Mordremoth, Crystal desert is for primordus. Only the ring of fire is available, if not under control of ’bubbles – aka deep sea dragon.
If you saw the interview colin gave a month ago you saw him talking bout a dilemma they are having. He didn’t say it in so many worths, but this is how I understood it.
They want to use the living story instead of traditional expansions to release future main content for the game. They also want it to be free of charge. This means that they have to evolve the living story step by step to that level without ruining the concept. Besides that, free of charges means that income from gemstore microtransactions should stay on a high level (they have to make profit in the end). It might turn out to be too much to pull that off and it might be that they step back and use traditional payed for expansions. So the question is do you believe they should make this experiment and all the benefits work? or should they step back now without really trying to the expansions model?
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I wanna talk bout the environmental weapons. They obvious don’t work at the moment. Part of it is discrimination, cause they are pretty good, but I also understand why, you often only get two skills and they are not better then your current weapons. A different thread brought me to the idea of re-introducing the ashes (rit skill) off GW1. But this time as an environmental weapon at strategic locations.
I use an example of the uses, and I do think that others can think of some themselves.
At the temple of Grenth event chain. A small side event starts at the other side of the Cathedral of Silence and is only available during the last three events of the main event chain.. This event can be done by 5-10 people and consists of defeating an extra bonus champion (the loot is compensation for the loss of not killing in the main event).
If succesfull a gate opens and a player can pick up an environmental weapon called ‘Vengefull was Khilbron’ (change the name if you want). The player who picks it up gets 200 healthpoints and looses all other stats like armor bonus (so you are very weak). The other players have therefore protect him and escort him on the way back to the main event. By this time the real trouble should have started there and many people have been defeated allready. But the player with the ashes has one skill he can use to throw the ashes (with an AoE marker) at a range of 1200 in the center. All players dead or downed in a range of 900 of the landing point will be resurrected instantly with 50% health.
I think this kind of use of environmental weapons makes them worth using them, even if it is challenging and requires coordination.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Your skills are way to overpowered, just as the rit was in gw1. Also, I think that the old rit is also found in the mesmer. They have clones like a rit summons spirits, the only difference is that clones move, but they are as versatile and functional as spirits. I rather see new weapon types for the existing professions then a whole new profession. Also I would like to see the ashes return, but then as an environmental weapon. At the moment those things don’t have enough oumph imo. But I think I make a different thread bout that, dont want to hijack yours :P

The player is not banned for no reason. his account got suspended because of an account issue. So there is a reason, but it is just unknown to us. That the OP is claiming he doesn’t know why doesn’t mean that is true. scammers, RMT-sellers and exploiters come here too to complain.
I just give the OP’s always the benefit of the doubt (unless it is very obvious) and treat them with respect cause we just don’t know.
Anet has it’s reasons, so he will get his answer from support. In many cases these threats die out anyway cause on the background support and the OP are working together on a solution.

ANy tricks on settings to weed bogus emails?
in Account & Technical Support

Those hijacks are I asume the phising mails?? The email authentication is a very important step.
You might want to consider using a different mail-adress for gw2. I use a gmailadress. It is free and pretty secure. They mark the wrong phising mails very correctly as spam so it gets filtered out. Besides that, if you create e.g. daduhulkgw2@gmail.com and use it only for gw2 you have an additional security (just like a password the mailadress is something only you and anet knows). You only need to remember that you need to login that emailadress to get the authentication mails.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I think you are mixing two things that are unrelated.
The amount of bugs in content released is in my opinion actually lower then it was a few months ago. There are still some things that needs fixing, but the amount and the severity is getting lower. So it is not an argument that arenanet is not taking enough time. they have doubled the amount of people working on these things as well and they are working in teams on rotation. so it is not that after release of Queens Jubilee they started working on clockwork chaos, but every chapter had a long prep time. So yes, there are still too many bugs, but it is getting better with the current rotation system instead of worse.
As for the discussion if people with jobs etc can keep up. There is absolutely no need to do anything. But I do think the game also should be interesting for people who are (unhappy enough) unemployed or not able to work due to a handicap. If you have limited time you have to make choices. I just think the time that we could do a monthly living story content in less then 4 hours was ridiculious and am very happy there is currently more content to play with.

You don’t get put into a server, when you started your account you where asked what server you wanted to be on. The region restriction has nothing to do with the actual server you play on. It only means that the first time you log in it has to be down in the region where you bought the game. It is perfectly acceptable to play on an EU server if you live in NA. I know a guy from England who moved to Canada a while ago. He uses guildwars to stay in touch with old friends.
However, if you don’t want to play on an EU server (e.g. cause you don’t have people to play with when your online) then I would suggest getting a servertransfer. Then you can move yourself to an NA-server.
A server transfer cost between 500-1800 gems (depending on to what server you are moving and how populated that server is). You can also get a servertransfer for free if you havent had one the last 7 days AND you delete all your existing characters. All things that are not souldbound of value can be placed in your bank and will be there for your new characters.

Behellagh, Advise has been given on this website. Either you bought the game from an untrusthy source or you have a serieus problem. If you don’t believe me or Arenanet here, please get some good outside help with your computer, cause I am serious that you need help with this!!

Saying this is a client issue is as wrong as saying that it is a hardware issue. As stated, too many people have it to be a hardware issue, and too many people have it not to be a client issue. So it is likely a combination of the above.
I think it would be a good idea if an arenanet tech person comments here. I think with asking the people having this issue to, for example share a crashlog, or running a diagnostic tool, could show what these people have in common. But I think you should call something like that.

I think this issue is not big enough to change the existing wings. It might be a good suggestion for future wings (prolly too late for the tequatl wings).
The problem with making any change to the existing wings is that people might disagree with you. Many people where asking for more and better effects for meteorlogicus (legendary scepter). I think you are getting a blue screen, but windows is nowadays not showing the screen but simply going into reboot. You can turn this system off to actually see the bluescreen and find the error-message:
From the Desktop (or startmenu) right-click on (My) Computer.
Click the Properties option.
In the System Properties window click the Advanced tab or the Advanced system settings link.
In Advanced click the Settings button under Startup and Recovery.
In the Startup and Recovery window uncheck the Automatically restart check box.
Click Ok.

I suspect that one of the last stresstest simulations of the system showed some issues with stability. By releasing it on a slower pace you prevent the system crumbling down the moment it is there and to be overflooded by people checking it out.
Just like they kept the TP off after the last update. The new mats and the new crafting levels ment that it wouldn’t work anyway cause the mass would be dos-ing it anyway.

The way I did it for the 3 legendaries I crafted (Juggernaut, Sunrise, Kudzu) was to just save every copper I got. Don’t buy anything and sell everything you get. Gambling on the MF is a waste imo. Sure some people get lucky but for every lucky guy, there are 50 very unlucky guys. you are better off just saving cash and putting in a buy order. Think of it this way, you can either sell 4 rare GS for about 1.5g or you can throw em in the MF and have a less than 1% chance of getting a precursor. Add that up 100 times and well you get the idea…..
A few months ago I agreed with you. But with the current announcement of a crafted precursor before the end of the year, I’m more willing to test my luck, cause I know it hasn’t to be tested endlessly. I know many people who got the precursor this way. In my opinion buying a precursor now is ridicilious and a waste of money. You better safe up some money till you know how to craft it later this year.

This might have to do with the settings of your virusscanner/firewall. The tradepost is technically not part of the game and uses it’s own process. This is called awesomium process.exe (different if your using mac)
So you need to make sure that your firewall and virusscanner isn’t blocking it.
It might be that this is not properly installed. that can be solved by running the game (once) with the -repair option.
See here how to do so: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Command_line_arguments

I have this all the time as well. My experience is that tryign to move or do things make things worse and often get my character stuck in that situation. So standing still and waiting is the best solutions. In many times this happens in overly crowded area’s. Cause this is mostly in town it often helps to travel to a nearby waypoint and walk. For example. It happens often to me at Trader’s Forum Waypoint. It is often faster to travel to Canal Ward Waypoint (the one near the exit to gendarran fields) and then walk back.

Hi Aranvar,
As people are saying, at the NA-event they handed out EU codes as well. This is leading to the current confussion and problems cause it seems the arenanet people there where not properly asking if one wanted an EU-version or an NA version. My advice is to try and redeem the code.
There is a change that it will work. If you get an error message that it isn’t working then you should write support. The last reports here are that they are manually fixing this for people who had the wrong region. There are French speaking support agents, so you can write them in French. Good luck

Excuse me?? there actually is a lot more use for experience after max level then there was in gw1.

Glasscannon is highly depending on keeping yourself alive. Cause you don’t have many options yourself, knowledge of the dungeon is important. I would advise to learn dungeons first with more defensive gear. It takes more time, but it is easier to find the safe spots and get to know all tricks.
Also, builds like that seems to concentrate on speedruns. So then the team would expect you to have this amount of knowledge.

1: completing all starter area’s without farming champs and stuff like that, will result in being level 30-ish.
2: there are indeed zones easier then others. Queensdale is considered easy, followed by Wayfairer foothills.
3: I would advise not to join the champion runs. The people doing these do that mostly for end game rewards and are grinding. Although there is nothing wrong with grinding, at your level there are many more interesting things to do in the game. You can always join the grind later on
.

Yes . HoM achievements require you to have gotten achievements in GW1 and put them in your HoM there to unlock items.
Almost this.
These rewards are a reward for showing dedication in the previous installment off the game. So you need to own atleast one campaign to have the first 3 hom- points (this will not lead to an achievement in gw2, but will unlock some armor skins).
You also need to link your gw1 account with your gw2 account.
To obtain more points you also need to have the expansion Eye of the north (see note) and actually play the game (though the first few points are easy to obtain and require little effort).
To get all points you need to own all three campaigns and Eye of the North expansion and play an extend amount for that game. The difficulty of reward is increasing. So the first points are easy, but the last ones take time and effort.
(note: it is possible to get up to 8 HoM points without owning the hall of monuments if you have the campaign called prophecy’s, this is however extremely difficult).
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
1: do not represent any guild when in sPvP
2: get an alternate set of armor. The default armor is the guild armor showing the sysmbol. But you can unlock other armor types with glory (or gems). These does not have the guildlogo showing. You can even get them in the achievement boxes (if you ‘deposited’ them you can find them in your locker in the heart of the mists).

1: please take down the screenshot. It is against the rules to harash other players. This includes suspected scammers or botters. The screenshot is showing the name of the person you are accusing and that is against the forum rules. All reports of scams should be done in game.
2: this person is running Arah explorable mode for money (or actually a friend of his). After you got invited in the dungeon you can enter for free and you can see they are indeed at the final boss and even see the final boss is near dead. After payment for the service has been made, the runner will kill the final boss. This kind of service is fully allowed and is common practice.
3: if the runner accept payment and does not kill the final boss ask him for a refund, if he refuses you can report him.
