Guild Transferred all Upgrades missing

I’m afraid there is no way to get help with this. This mechanic is working as designed, you upgrades are also not gone, but they remain on the old server.
This is very clearly explained on the wiki.

I really would like to have a dukati monster bike. Can someone send me one please??
I know im cheesy here , but its basicly what you are asking. envy is a bad habit. I’ve learned to be happy with what you got.

IC ur point, you make a valid argument, however when someone spends hard earned cash, especially enough to buy a new game with whole new content and extended play time, then I think there should be a guarantee to get that ticket! Then to satisfy the ones who can’t afford a “RICH COFFER” can try to get the skins through one of the other sources.
There is no NEED to get this skin. This skin doesnt make you a better player and this skin isnt. If you liket gambling you can buy RNG-boxes and be lucky. Things that drop only from these boxes are not interested to me and I don’t even going to consider wether or not I like these skins.- I havent looked at them and I dont b other. If a ticket drops for me from a regular coffer I will take a look and see if there is a skin I like.
Bottom line. Nobody is forcing you to get or open rng boxes.

So I got 2 of them to go back to Lions Arch, but when I got to Voork I got the “Leave” option only. So I read on the “dulfy” guide site, that is says if you get this “Leave” option only, to destroy your investigation kit and get another from Kiel.
However when I go to kiel I cannot re-enter the instance, therefore I do not get another investigation kit.
So I can’t do this quest and am quite annoyed about it. Please fix this, or help me to fix this.
Please check your achievements. You should allready have 3 suspects (assuming you found the other two as well).
The bug is that the storyline the crime scene isnt finished properly and therefor you first need to finish ti properly before you can go to Vorrk. If you can’t get into the crime scene anymore, you dont have the bug dulfy was talking bout. so likely you allready investigated Vorrk, but didnt notice he allready counted.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Did you complete the Scene of the Crime instance before leaving? If so the Dulfy site says this:
NOTE: You DO NOT need to use the investigation kit when talking to any of the NPCs. Investigation kit is only used while instance the Scene of the Crime instance.
http://dulfy.net/2013/06/19/gw2-every-piece-matters-missing-suspects-achievement-guide/
Also something I found out is investigation kit is soul bound. I found this out because I did the instance with my least favorite low level alt. I didn’t start it expecting to get items such as this and just happened to have the alt in the area so I thought I would do it. Anyway I checked the kit in my alts inventory and it is soul boud.
One thing I was unable to test because I don’t have any friends, LOL, is if someone double clicks it in their inventory which makes them drop like leaving a trail of them, is if another play can pick them up with out it being soul bound. I’m not talking about dropping them via weapon swap. If a player double clicks them in their inventory they can leave a trail of them as they walk about.
This, So far you dont need the kit for the first three suspects. in the past arenanet has had enough experience with people loosing it, that if you need it you can get a replacement. This was the case in lost shores and in halloween. This indicates it highly expectable that you dont need the kit to finish the story. I’m not sayingt that if you still have it you should delete it, but I am saying that it proly wont matter.

I disagree on two points with you.
The first point is that GW2 is doing a lot better on this point then gw1 and any other mmo around. So it might be not as revolutionary as you might have hoped, but it is revolutionary.
Second of all, in almost every map there are chains of events that do what you are saying/asking. Maybe not all events, and maybe not with the rewards you would hope but still.
Kessex hills has e.g. the centaur war. Here you have multiple key locations you have to guard caravans to and conquer outposts. If you hold all key locations a special merchant appears. This is beside drops the first place in the game where you can buy fine (blue) weapons. This fails however cause they are much easier and cheaper to craft or buy on the TP and by the time you get to those events you are level enough for green weapons.
Also look at the balthasar event. You have to support three separate invasion forces. Leading supplies, bombs and troups through the entire map, conquer and defend key locations till you reach the final rally point. If one or more of your invasion forces have arrived you can start your final assualt. If this succeed you get access to the highly exclusive temple armor vendor.
There are events that are just bout guard the caravan and clear the camp, but there are also many different ones. My favourite is the white lady in sheamore cemetery. It’s a bit unknown single event, but just go to the cemetery at night and find the white lady.

How does ascension work for back items that are transmuted like the Karka shell? I put the skin on an exotic back. If I ascend the shell will it revert back to its original stats or can it even be ascended?
If you put the karka shell back skin to another exotic back, you will basicly get that back item but with different looks. If that e.g. is a temple armor back piece that means it cant be ascended.
If the exotic back piece is e.g. the fractal capacitator, you can ascend it in the mystic forge using the recipe for the capacitator, it will end up looking like the capacitator again and will loose the looks.
When transmutating and only keeping the skin tkittenence of the original item is destroyed and you loose all possibility’s
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
A minor point, once your characters reach 1 year old, they will likely get a birthday present. In Guild Wars 1 they were minipets and some were fairly valuable, especially the rare ones from characters that were several years old. So, if you delete your old toons you won’t get one for them.
I would personally change your words ‘will likely’ to ‘might’. Although this gw1 tradition can mean they repeat it and therefor its a good idea to keep your first character alive, Arenanet has proven many times to have broken with certain traditions.
To name a few:
Chinese (Canthan) new year
st. Patricks day
Easter
Talk like a Pirate day
thanksgiving
Guess we have to wait and see.

Except that last bit isn’t correct. This is how it runs
(I don’t know how exactly the logitech software writes it, but it’s something along the lines of this, so don’t take it as an actual code)
While(X=ButtonDown) { Mouse.Click sleep = 25ms }
So basically however fast my computer runs, it checks if button ‘X’ is down, Clicks with my mouse, waits 25s and then checks again if ‘X’ is down. It’s actually a loop.
The exact same thing happens when you open chat and hit A.
it says “is the Key A down? okay. Write the character ‘A’, lets check if it’s still down. Okay it is. Write that again. okay again? Nope not down now. Don’t write A. end of script.”I’m just trying to make sure everyone understands what it does. If you were to use it on say, your number 1 skill (hold your mouse over 1 and then hold down X) it would actually only activate skill 1 as fast as skill 1 activates. Try clicking your 1 skill super super quick. It only does it as fast as it activates.
My point is it technically only does the action once and then reads if I’m still doing it. The macro IS one press per action. The thing is that if it’s still pressed it keeps looping till I release my finger. This is why I’m pretty sure it’s fine. It’s one press per action, technically.
Here’s my keyboard and no it isn’t for sale.
Awww man! That thing looks so awesome! I’ll buy you Sunrise for it! (Wait, no that’s RMT, can’t do that). I’ll give you $10!! :P
The problem with this is, how can e.g. support check if you are not ducktaping that key while you are yourself entertaining yourself in far a way playces with other things??
I understand your feelings bout it not being a big deal, but in cases like this there is no grey area, it goes from white (allowed) to black (not allowed). Besides what is considered ok or not ok behaviour, support has to be able to check your intentions. thats why the rule is one key stroke = one action. This is very clear and black and white.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
hmmm, one part is really angry with gaile, I ask for a formal reaction and instead you dump me in the general discussion. No offense to the people regular here, but the general attitude here is the one I dislike and its the reason I mostly try to avoid this place. On the other hand it shows in my personal opinion that I have touched a point where arenanet doesn’t have a true answer for. On one hand those instruments are selling good. I will be the last to ignore that or be happy for arenanet. On the other hand it can be mis-used by people who are unfortunately in our community that are not willing to contribute to it in a nice way. That in itself is a dilemma. The support liason deciding to not answer my honest question gives me some inside how this discussion might have gone in the arenanet board room.
Like I said I like music and I enjoy music, so im not against these things. I think that people who want to practise should coinsider their location, but if you are good enough (and please be open to feedback bout it), do so in public, I like it. There are however (sadly) some who just like to troll. And misusing this is in my opinion as bad as swearing in map chat.
I am happy to see that most people here recognise my concern. It shows this community is better then the debate in the arenanet boardroom.
There has been some very good and solid solutions mentioned here, Im not against player made music. The wintersday bells where (at worse) just a wind chime, not making sense, but still doable. The horn can be mis-used, I hope that arenanet sees the light, but more important I hope the community knows how to keep this game clean.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
From the same thread:
‘Macros
Guild Wars 2 players are permitted to use macros as long as the macros are programmed with a 1 key for 1 function protocol.
This means that if you program a macro, it must require one keystroke per action. You may not program a single key to perform multiple functions.
For example, if you Press A and it results in the casting of a single skill, you’re ok. If you Press A and it casts multiple spells, you’re not ok.’
You are pressing A and it results in the casting of a single skill (or action wich is basicly the same) multiple times. So it isn’t ok. You are trying to make playing the game more convinient, and thats is not how it is supposed to be played.

The letters are actually singed with ____E
So it seems to me that his/her name ends with an E, and the first mail is saying that he/she can’t go to to lion’s arch cause ‘Circumstances prevent it’. So Ellen seems out of sight.
There is nobody in Destiny’s edge except Rytlock Brimston*e* and Caith*e*. but the writting style is not them. Caithe would be much more enthousiastic bout it and rytlock would order you.
So lets look into the mails further:
‘You may not know me, but I know you’ – so anyone you met during the parts of the main story that are the same as for others or in dungeons or in the living story so far are out . This include (thank god) Trahearn*e*.
’ I’ve heard whispers about a threat to the Ship’s Council’ This might indicate a member of the order of whispers.
’ I’d intervene myself, but circumstances prevent it.’ So there are reasons why this person can’t go to lion’s arch.
‘The situation has worsened. One of the Lion’s Arch councillors, Theo Ashford, has succumbed to his wounds. The Lionguard is keeping the new quiet while the festival continues, but they’re overwhelmed trying to maintain security in the city. At this very moment, a killer walks free, and this cannot be allowed.’
So the person gets information pretty soon and has inside information in the council (again pointing into the direction of the order of whispers).
’ you’ll find one of the best investigative minds in Tyria, Marjory Delaqua. She will need your help to find those behind the councillor’s death. Tell her E sent you’
Marjory knows who it is, and more important knows why this person is hiding his/her identity.
My money is actually on Demmi Beetlestone.
She is currently in the chantry of whispers still hiding for her dad. Very likely she still has ties with old friends in Divinity’s reach, wich are most likely nobels like lady kashmeer (wich would explain here presence). She obvious can’t show her face in Lion’s Arch. You might know her or you might know her not cause of the story and she has access to inside info from the council.
She fits the tale perfectly in my opinion. But then again it can be someone else :P

Was your character already level 80?? if not you might want to consider restarting all over to learn the game properly. Being dumnped in a lelvel 80 area without preparation might be a bit kitten you.
You might want to check the amount of karma on your character. For 355.000 karma you can get yourself temple armor. this is exotic and max stats.

The banners stay in place for 30 minutes. The benefit is that you provide a service for your members (wich you can tell in guildchat where they are) and others who touch it get a message with the the logo and name of your guild. So it is advertisement only. No influence gained.

Hi MisterEction.
I understand your concern, but bumping this thread doesn’t help it and will only delay things. You bumping it means the devs have to open and read this thread, recognise this is allready a known issue and that no new people are complaining. So no change to the bug and to the impact. So your using their time while they should be working on fixing this and other things.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The main difference between the bells and the horn is that the bells at worse produce the sound of a windchime. A bit annoying but still doable. The horn can produce very nice music, but some tones are used in traffic horns and sirene’s. The purpose of these is to draw attention (alarm sound). So thats why I’m asking now
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I am personally not a big spender on cosmetics or fun things in the cash shop, but I do appreciate everyone who does spent money there on e.g. the new music horn.
I also understand that people have to practice. So I want to make a suggestion to arenanet to provide a public mute button with the horn, so that people can practice without others hearing it. I also would appreciate it when people would consider the location where they practice.
Just now outside the bank in Lion’s arch someone was trying really hard to master the art of playing the horn. unfortunally with limited succes. It reminded me mostly of the personal story line on red alert
So while I enjoy the art of a true musician playing his horn and I also understand that arenanet makes money with selling these horns, I would kindly ask you to practice this beautiful art in your home instance till you have mastered it to a decent level

If you sign a tpvp match and you have to go afk.
Then leave when you have to go afk.
I don’t like the sPvP in gw2 but I highly enjoyed gw1 Fort Aspenwood. When I entered the queue and had to go afk before the start I would always leave the queue, even it ment waiting another 20 minutes to be able to get back in. That is in my opinion the decent thing to do.
Off course there is AFK and AFK. I often went to make a coffee in the kitchen, with one eye round the corner on the monitor. But I doubt anyone would be annoyed if I was 20 seconds later participating in a match.

Welcome back, and keep in mind, Your not paying monthly fees for this service (wich makes it even more awesome).
I hope everything turns out ok with your account. One small point. You are saying ~1 year. the game launched end of august, so that is still only 10 months ago. If you logged in after december last year they might have made a snapshot of your account. This means you qualify for an account restoration.
The account restoration system was implemented in december 2012 , so if you got hacked before that or stopped playing before that time this doesn’t count for you
But given your rough estimate of one year I wanted to mention it.

Lost ~2k gems worth of Transmuation Stones
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: mercury ranique.2170
First off all let me explain the business model of most MMO’s.
You buy the game, and pay a monthly fee. This means the company’s behind these games will go through any lenght to keep you addicted and keep you playing. This is the reason many players expect this as well from Arenanet.
Arenanet however has a different bussiness model without monthly fees. So after the initial sale they dont make anymore money (besides the gemstore, but thats up to the goodwill of the customers, and no garanteed flow). So they dont gain anything from keeping you sattisfied except some loyalty in the future wich is no garantee they are going to get that.
Now Arenanet is a nice company and within their limitations they try anything they can to make us happy and they are doing a great job in my opinion. However a support request will cost them say 20 us dollar (fictional number based on personal experience with other company’s) if they do investigate. This means they loose a good amount of profit they are making on you. Besides that word spreads fast and others will also ask for even lesser losses. Declining your request is cheaper (they dont have to investigate your claim for it) and means less requests in the future.
Now like I said. Arenanet is a very nice and friendly company. This means that for the very griefing situations they have been making exceptions. Each character is capable of gaining 105 of these stones. Personal practise is that, cause they only go to level 79 you only need them when you are leveling a character. This means compared with the crystal they have limited usage. So in my personal opinion the loss is severe, but not gamebreaking.

The location mentioned in the IP-adres is distracted by a whois-command (Who is this?) at your provider. This is a public system and your provider is not forced to give out your real home town. This has to do with the protection of your privacy. Some providers do give the town, but others choose to give the location of the internet providers central data system. Wich might indeed be in Canada.
If you have any concerns you can visit this website: http://www.whatsmyip.org/
At the top it will show you what IP-adres you are using. Compare it with the one in the email authentication and your done.

I think that something simular to the gw1 dishonorable combatant system should be in place. I think that system worked pretty well.
This is how it should work. If you accumulate 8 (dishonorable) points your are locked out of sPvP matches for 60 minutes.
You get points for:
Not being active. This has to be a path that has room for bad players. but obvious never leaving the spawnpoint is considered not being active. This ‘rewards’ you with 4 points.
Being reported for leeching by a player of your team: 2 points.
Reporting another player for leeching: 1 point (this is to prevent people from griefing and mis-use of the system, a report means you are annoyed enough to swallow a point yourself too.).
Accumulated points are removed after the daily reset.
After the first time out of 60 minutes you start with 2 accumulated points
After the second time out of 60 minutes you start with 4 points
After the third time out of 60 minutes you start with 6 points.
When getting 8 points for the fourth time you are locked out of games till the daily reset. You can still enter WvW and PvE.
To fill in any other griefing misuse, the misuse of the system can also mean a account suspension or termination if a GM thinks you are misusing the system structurally or against a certain player or group of players.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I would like to ask for an official statement, maybe from Gaile.
The newly introduced horn is not something completely new to the game. We have the two pipe organ’s and the bells. However, in my personal opinion the horn has a much more penetrating sound. With this I mean that people who play it badly can be really really annoying. I am also under the impression that there are allready players who are doing it in such public places, like the bank in lions arch, that I’m under the impression they are doing it with the purpose of being annoying (grieving).
I think everyone will agree that the last category is something we shouldnt have in this game, but I also wonder what Arenanet’s stance is on this. Just recently someone was playing the two highest tones alternating like a sirene or an alarm for 10 minutes in the bank in lion’s arch. Can I report these people (if I actually find them due to the culling there).
Don’t get me wrong. I have played lord of the rings online and I truly enjoyed the concerts often given outside the pony in Bree, so I don’t mind people playing it in a nice way. But people should consider however where to practise and people should consider not to grief people with it.

All precursors will say in the description: ‘This weapon is used to craft the legendary (weapon type) (legendary weapon name)’ (type and name depending on wich legendary it is used for).
Besides that I do think that when salvaging any exotic you get it is good practise to check the price on the tp before doing so. It’s not as if they drop every few minutes and saves a lot of trouble.

From the wiki: ‘Distortion is an effect exclusive to mesmers which allows them to evade attacks for some time.’
And: ‘Blur is an effect that gives the player invulnerability’
The confusion and bug is that the blur effect is calling the invulnerability an evade as Distortion while it actually grants invulnerability wich is indeed a different effect. So its not a bug that blur is not the same as distortion, but it is a bug that blur has a confusing ingame description.

I had the same problem with a name my little sister chose for her character…wanted to use a short way of Pimpernel so she used “Pimp”. We are not English speakers, we had no clue it had an offensive meaning before receiving the warning…I really wish there was some “detector” forbidding us to use wrong names in creation, to prevent this kind of things…
There is, but it misses a lot of things. It is also the main reason why people who are a first offender when it comes to names are not suspended for 72 hours. In generally Arenanets policy is that warning people doesn’thelp, so anyone who breaks the ToS for the first time gets a 72 hours suspension.
The only exception to this is a disallowed name. People get a suspension till they have changed the wrong name but not the 72 hours.

in Account & Technical Support

You are not forced to change a name cause it is in urban dictionary.
You are forced to change a name cause several people in the game where offended by the name and they reported you for it. To prevent mis-use of the system a GM checked it and agreed the name can be interpreted as something offensive.
I truly wonder why you want to hold on to a name now you know it means something really offensive and that allready got people offended enough to report you.
It isn’t important what kind of personal meaning you give to a name. The naming policy isnt there for the protection of the person choosing a bad name, but for those seeing the name in chat and above your head.
The result of a ‘well’ executed curve stomp (if the victum would survive it) is that the victum will have all teeth removed from their mouth. The victum will have broken jaw, severe head trauma, wich likely results in permanent brain damage and a broken neck.
A little bit of google results in a pretty good picture what someones face looks like after wards. I’m not going to link it cause it is really really bad. But if you still need some conviction bout how bad the name is look on google images for curb stomb result. the one im talking bout is a bit downwards but you will very likely know what I’m talking bout when you see it

I might be wrong but why would one play multiple accounts in gw2. As stated multi boxing isnt allowed, so you have to alt tab. In gw1 there where two valid reasons in my opinion to use a multi client. The firts would be trading. all trading would have to be done in a a mutual screen. Both party’s would put the items or money in the screen and show them to each other, if you agreed to the trade you would accept if both accept the trade was done. To transfer items from one account to the other, both accounts had to be online to use this. In gw2 you can simply email to your second account and pick it up hours later.
The second main reason was the 9 rings. the 9 rings is a mini game in gw1 that only has the requirement to be in a ring with enough tickets in your inventory. It is the best wayto obtain the lucky and unlucky title in gw1, but it could be played afk cause all of it was automated. To be able to gain points for the title I would park my main account in the 9 rings game afk and play my second account to pass the time.
Both those things have no reason. So to anyone asking the question if it is ok, I would like to counter the question, why should you??

The fiery gs gives a separate set of skills. so this would be an issue with either Fiery Whirl (no3 skill) or Fiery Rush (no4 skill). This will work to other professions cause when you sue the fiery greatsword utility skill you equip one yourself and leave one on the ground that any class can pick up. So any class can use this greatsword as long as there is an ele round that puts it down.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
No you can’t.
the capacity to upgrade is in the stats and not the skin. So if you transmutated the stats to a different back piece it is basicly that back piece but with different looks. So it is as upgradable as the item with the orignal stats

wich coins are you talking bout??
You have copper coins, silver coins and gold coins. They are all the same currency. if you have 99 copper coins and get one more it will turn into 1 silver coin automatically
If you have 99 silver coins and you get one more it will turn into 1 gold coin automatically
If at level 8 you only have 50 copper coin you have been buying stuff. The first tutorial part (where you defeat the big boss) grants you with 80 copper atleast.
If you have 50 silver coins allready thats a good thing. I normally am lucky to get bout 15 silver when i reach level 9. at level 9 i need to buy a trait book for 10 silver and drop back down. There are many ways of making money in this game. But none should be to worry bout right now. Wait till your like level 30.

Hi Gaile,
Isn’t there a way to block these fishing emails?
I’m getting these emails like once a day on my old, and new email adress which I both have used for Guild Wars. And a lot of different ones as well.It would be great if I can block these emails!
Can you help me?
TjahJadi
(although im not Gaile) Yes you can; get a spam filter.
The problem is that the sender of the email shouldn’t be blocked. The ip adres is just ripped off from someone who was hacked so thats no use either. The only way to filter it is the text. A spam filter is updated regularly to filter on the text.
Just to add. Many email-providers have a built in spamfilter. Maybe it is a good plan to share the mailprovider you are using. I’m personally using gmail. I had these kind of emails twice so far. I do believe that gmail has good way of blocking most of them, simply cause i did recieve them, but im not being bombarded daily.

DO NOT just buy one of every weapon and use them until you unlock all the skills.
instead, I recommend sticking with 1 weapon for like 5 levels until you get a feel for it (this is probably 10x longer than just using it long enough to unlock the skills), then switch to a new one. after going through all of them, you’ll have a favorite you’ll go back to, or at least 2 to narrow it down between.
also note: around level 10, I think, you can equip 2 sets of weapons and switch between them with the ~ key.
I disagree with you, This might be a good plan for rolling an alt class you have never played. But imagine being totally new. I remember it and I was totally newbe and puzzling out how to stay alive and how to keep myself going. That puzzle is part of the learning curve. you need to find the weapon you prefer on your own. the bets way is to be able to try them all as soon as possible. ok it takes an hour to kill wurms in queensdale to unlock them all (or whatever low level area you can find) but then you got it out of the way and you can experiment and switch whenever you want.
I wish I could turn back time and experience this game again as a total newbe. I miss the frustration of trying to find my way and the joy of finding it.

Just try things. PvP is a big problem to master. At the moment not many people are playing it. The people who do, have been there for a long time and know it too well. So the PvP game never started like it did in gw1, and it need some radical changes to make it interesting for new people again (im thinking bout a handicap like in golf for experienced people, e.g. an constant AoE effect, simular but not as hard and steep as agony in fractals).
But to keep myself on topic.
WvW is very well doable. As being said, when running alone keep watching your back and udnerstand wich colours belong to your world. Pretty soon you can see enough of the map to know where your going. then aim for (one of the) the blue commandor icon on the map and you will very likely find a zerg (big group of people). Follow them around and do what they are doing and you will learn quickly

i did start a ticket. i have the number and everything but i cant login to the support account. I mentioned it at the end of my post
You dont need to login to file a support ticket. please read the thread I posted earlier. If you allready got a 12-digit ticket number you will get an answer from support.
They are answering and helping 24/7, but they have their own deadline of solving your problem within 72 hours max. Most of the times it is done faster however and you will be helped within several hours.
Again good luck!

Hi and welcome to this forum.
What you have to do is start a support ticket
They will evaluate your situation and if indeed you have hit a bug you likely get a solution offered. Which one is up to them, but likely a refund. Good luck!!

indeed the amount of infractions needed for a suspension isn’t communicated. Your goal should be to have 0 infactions.

Personally I hold down my right mouse button and use ‘a’ and ‘d’ as strafe controls for direction and ‘s’ for forward motion. As holding down the right mouse button basically controls the camera, most of the time I am using my mouse to determine the path of my character by moving the camera. My character is always running in a straight line and I turn the world around them to point them where they need to go.
Out of interest,
how do you move (and dodge) backwards?
With default key-binds you can double tap ‘s’. This works for all directional dodges.
Yip, just remember to turn it off when doing a jumping puzzle
My controls depend a lot bout what character I’m playing. I’m also using a logitech G510 and a razor naga. So for all skills and for walking/control key’s I have atleast 3 options. I have learned myself to master them all and I acutally switch between the,. This not only elevates my control skills up, but it also gives me some very good anti-rsi solutions.
