vulnerability – 5 stacks – same
it doesnt mean we are the stronger but we do got good condi cleanse when stealth
and if burning was here also it become overkill and OP

I am ok with it as whole classes have the same issue and with the power buff you don’t really need to dodge to shatter
i really dont know why ppl want so much to change it to be blockable and dodgable
our main evades/immunity is dodge, and distoration
we dont have block or invulnerability like guard and engi do. we dont have immunity to dmg like warrior and ranger do
they all have that while can dodge and while blocking they can attack you

if i see guard using his focus block i know burst will come so i use MW which is on 10 sec cd (if i dont have endurance rdy) so yes i want to blind him as for 3 sec i cant hit him thus i want him not to be able to hit me – isnt it fair?
and its only blind for 1 attack which must be used smartly agaisnt burst skills and not just AA
the shatters now act both on defend and offence role which is more unique to me
As soon as you enter more organized PvP, I think condition are not as good as you say. There is too much AOE cleanse. In lower tier, conditions are definitely worth using.
this is a huge assumption of doing 4v4 against 2 eles/ guard
but if you go far and draw 1 enemy to you than condi is viable but if 2 ele come to you just disengage same with power builds
so it all depends on rotation/ composition. but as for now the powerzerk rules becuase of the huge dmg.
also with condi build you can support your team while doing nice 1k dps like with blind, stability, boon share etc..
oh i though i mean the builds above is not good with the meta atm.

rotation and communication is the most important things
you can see me doing so many mistakes in the vid above and the bunker guard was able to help as we planned to play together. also good map awarness and me going far decap to spread the enemies focus and taking all the hit while my team are the zerker doing free dmg …
what i love atm is everyone is testing eveything so atm there is no meta
regarding the builds above – ressing , stomping, buffing your team, support them, good speed to cover the map, good dmg or bunkering give some edge to the fight
Overall in gw2 I think your build is secondary to rotations, teamwork, and strategy, as well as teamfight mechanics.

also helseth run with bunker build with dueling and no illusion – he did no dmg at all just stay alive, cleanse condi, heal on shatter and mantra with stability nothing can touch this build
i would take boon share to at least share some boons to buff my team dmg

This reminds me a bit of the settlers bunker that helseth ran recently in the last esl. It actually did really well with sword invulns and staff chaos armor uptime but I may tweak it to have sceptre sword instead for more blocks and blinds via ineptitude.
i saw helseth went with carrion condi build with inspiration over chaos. which is more support role without much boons on him and no boon share
second fight we went with settler bunker with chaos line and no illusion line

3. can safely res and stomp with blind and stability so your team can focus on dmg
4. melee class will hate you
5. range class will hate your reflect abilities
6. good support with null filed/feedback and time warp
7. good up time of chaos armor and if blast the merrier
8. good pressure with confusion even with 1 shatter will stop your enemy from attack and focus on cleanse
9. boon share even if its 1 skill your team will love you (combine it with empower to get 25 stacks on your team!)

I do not know how you get that or maybe I’m completely missing how mind wrack works. MW damage is not linear. So the first clone + IP does high damage, but 3+IP is barely better. On the other hand, CoF is linear and hits up to 12 confusion (4 + 4 from minor +4 from blind) and 4 torment which is painful.
its only 1 from blind and not 4 so total from 3 clones +1 ip is 9 stacks

is all in your gamestyle and how you calculate your dmg output versus time of fight
if you know how to time your shatter in power build at the right moment than Power out shine any condi builds by far
but if you miss or get blocked, blind, evades than with condi which is DoT can do better is some rare cases
if you think condi does more dmg than you are probably better player with condi buils than power build
although i can see some hybrid build which on theory can do more dmg than power and condi build . the difference is with burst dmg
i really liked the buff idea and the ability to shut down enemies with blind especially warriors and thieves
my first game with OMFG 3 mesmers . we ended up with 1 pug mesmer and 1 warrior who felt like left out

as i played with the same concept (carrion amulet) here is few suggestion
Balthazar may seem nice with mantra but hardly as mantra heal usually used out of a fight due to interrupts.
also with illusion line over chaos you miss so much boons and protection up time which can assist you with the carrion amulets.
also with mirror reflect so helpful versus ranger/necro/engi etc….
regarding gameplay – really nice juke with the blink phase retreat spot – i hardly manage to do that in fights
funny thing i notice (noob me) i use my phantasm with 15 stack of might got signet activated with the trait and follow with another signet activation
25 stack of might on my 2 allies – was it really me?
also this build (and even condi) works really well with staff guardian (or bunker guard)
the 12 stacks might which turn on your group to 24 is really nice

i play with this build with some power runes variation
against thief it so great and funny.
but against heavy class like warrior its hard and sometime unkillable. although they cant kill me. i got whisper for troll build user, idiot etc…
also i didnt manage to 100-0 kill a thief like you did (maybe cause of no food in pvp). but 10-25% hp yes
its was hard for me to contest a point but the might stacks rise up till help come and then boom sharing
the condi version cant burst like this but i hardly can burst in even match unless the enemy is already pressured or low in hp . so the condi version against some classes and build may seem better

I am running with something like this right now and it is pretty efective in some way, but i don’t know it can compete with mantra builds for exampleIt feels like pre-patch shatter mesmer with a lot more defense and dmg splited in confusion spikes and power dmg presure. Good against thieves, able to burst down ppl but still have enough sustain to compete with d/d ele

- Delayed Reactions / Lost Time : Using my Temporal Condition Shatter build has really given me an appreciation for Time Warp and consequently how big of an impact Slow has on a fight. Mark my words, Slow will rekt people.

one fight 2v3 my team member got down. i put time warp and 2 of the enemies went for the stomp. so beautiful to see it in slow motion ….

i think for chrono when it comes out many adjustment (nerf mainly) will be made

my best suggestion like some said it above find a friend and fight each other till you learn rotations, skills animation, key moment
than go for a group play which has more tactics like dont look for 1v1 rather cap points and decap, support, harass, burst and go etc…
i can assure you after a week you will be better and can handle and learn from your mistakes
my only problem with power block mesmer is not agasint the good ones rather the average ones
almost every fight if i am daze (without interupt) i get stun and than they spamm daze abilities. sure they probably wont kill me but its hell annoying
i want it that the stun will be rewarding so if i am not using skill it will be daze. if i get interupt i will stun or something like that and increase the icd

And presumably these skills will have cast times, activating confusion procs as you use them. The difference is that ele channeling meteor shower will now take 3 hits of confusion instead of just 1.

but pvp – almsot any profossion gor 1-2 channle skills of 1.5 sec (in average)
it will make confusion decission procing more harder as you want to save it for the channle skills
unless they buff the dmg *3 which wont happend

My average ticking is 500-1k dmg. With the now several sources of confusion being able to consistently keep stacks on, I’m not seeing where people aren’t doing more overall dps. I’m stacking confusion like dollar pancakes.

i dont claim any of my theory craft as my builds cause among 1000000 players and 5 trait line most ppl will come up with the same concept or as you said almost
yes power is good for quick burst – sure thing. but in theory the dmg is higher in hybrid but will come 3 sec later
with carrion and 2.2k power i dont have any problem with diamond ele as i manage to fast down their hp below 90% . with rabid its bit problem but doable
so after playing with condi shatter build and like it mainly in tpvp
and seeing from the power version of boons sharing it may be good to share stability, might protection regen and more
also several attempt to build some hybrid build for mesmer i came with 2 theory craft versions
the basics

you got low armor with condi dmg so no huge burst to down 100-1 in 2 sec so BE very careful
BUT
you got 2.3k power and 1.5k condi dmg with many boons on you alongside blind – hence hybrid
location location location – know where to stand where to shatter and where to share boons
dont try 1v1 although you can do it (with rabid much easier)
traveler runes
25% speed so you can move faster if no swiftness proc
15% boons duration
10% condi duration
with chaotic persistence and average of 6 boons you will have +30% boon duration and +25% condi duration
boons
might – 5-12 stacks constant
fury with staff clones preety much constant
vigor with carrion and fury 28% crit chance so about 50% up time
stability – with shatter no problem to have it
protection – almost constant
regen – with chaos armor almost constant

if you dont got good crit dmg than scepter and pistol is better (and even more when they fixed the bug on pistol)
with gs and staff with no high pressure any thief will kite you fast. this is the problem with mesmer as its hard for them to go hybrid. so the blind, block, cleanse, heal along side higher hp will give you time to react

few suggestions
1. dont make video of pve game play unless there is something special and unique which hadnt been discovered yet you want to share
2. if you need to put it than fast forward it to the unique part like 1v1
3. if you down 1 ele and interrupt 1v1 at least let the winning one to recover and than do 1v1
4. dont play pu – so boring but its wvw so wth
5. if you insist to play pu than 1v2, 1v3 go after zerg and troll and make fun video
what i would suggest is (even if you cant “choose” your utilities, lets be frank most take 1-2 condi cleanse, 1-2 stun break)
the legend defy your weapons choice ie
if you take hammer and use it with demon legend than your weapon will do 1 stack of condi dmg as hammer is pure rane dps so like
blind, cripple, chill, slow, taunt which all support power dmg
if you take mace/axe you will get another stack of condition as of now the condi dmg is way too low regarding numbers of conditions and their stacks so give burning , bleeding , torment , confusion, poison
if you take centaur your weapon attacks will heal for small amout, cleanse 1 condi , give protection regen etc
sure put some icd or low duration or both
this way you will have utilities which support your weapon choice and you can swap to get different aspect while fighting
Actually if you bothered to read most of the posts asking for weapon swap you will see, in fact, Utility Swap is not the same thing as Weapon Swap. Some points brought up so far are:
1. It’s the only class in the game right now that can’t change it’s 1-5 skills. Classes always have 2-6 options to change these abilities.
2. Weapons are very Legend/Specialization specific. Taking a Hammer doesn’t help out Salvation line which has Staff altering abilities in it. The additional conditions in Corruption doesn’t benefit you unless you’re doing a Condi Mace/Axe build.
3. There’s no permanence to Legend benefits. For example if you swap out of Jalis, you cease to benefit from Jalis as there’s very few if any lasting buffs from any of the lines. All of Ventari’s stuff immediately disappears without the Tablet. Most resistance in Malyx lasts but a few seconds.
In essence, it doesn’t gain enough benefit from Utility Swap to justify losing a second weapon set. Now they could adjust the Utilities and make them more powerful or more Energy efficient or something of that nature but as it stands it’s just not there.
1. with 2 utilities legend you have 5 weapon slot so 10 utilities in total . no other profession got 10 utilities . so you end up the same but i say bring up one more legend to choose from
2. if you want condition with mace /axe you take healing legend and condition legend so you build yourself around condition. same with hammer you take jalis
3. you right the legend are weak atm and not benefit the play and game style of the revenant
i really dont know what ppl call for weapon swap
you have utilities swap which is the same and even more unique
one thing i would do is to give 3 legend swap – 1 give condi abilities, 1 give dps , 1 give healing, 1 give sustain, 1 give suport – now choose 3 out of 5 (like ele attunment)
now the main issues are the low dps both in direct and condi , less protection and other dmg negator (blind…), high energy cost etc..
for wvw roaming go hybrid carrion which will result in both power and condi dmg which is higher then full zerk or rabid. also with food and duration your burning will ticks longer
for pvp not sure yet. carrion can proc much more but the cleanse will negate the dmg
but in theory hybrid will result is better dmg cross the board

couldnt stack much torment up to 7 stacks (if confusion is for mesmer , torment should be for revenant.
burning is too low up to 2-3 stacks with short short duration
the punish/gain buff when you got conditions on you is hardly any gain. should be if there are more than 2-3 conditions on you your weapons do doable the stacking
energy management – didnt get it . thief got initiative with no cd. we got both energy and cd on our skills. some of which seem to energy costing and hardly beneficiary
legend seem weak as they dont do much dmg or conditions or any defense ability. some push enemy back or taunt but if you being targeted with no ability to defend like block, protection, blind or punish with condi burst you are screw
the same goes for power with hammer. although the AA is nice 1-2k dmg all other attack slow and weak.
also what is the concept of the revenant as i didnt get it by the skills he got.
if it to control conditions than he hardly does it (mostly killed by it)
so far it seems like a weak warrior
at some other threads ppl say condi shatter not good as in group fight condi get cleansed. we saw 1v1, 2v2 mostly so does it make condi viable now instead to say in general “team fight condi get cleansed” ?
You know what scares me most about condi setups? If there’s a Mesmer running Inspiration with mantra heal. Which, not coincidentally, is what I’m running. Of course I know other classes have good support cleansing, but just knowing that one mesmer can destroy any aoe condi assault just says it all to me. The only time condi’s get me is if there’s bad timing (out of mantras and havent recharged yet) or if I get dumped on in an outnumbered situations and can’t get away, in which case that’s fair game.
Condi is powerful and it’s really noticeable when you have team members without cleansing. So to me condi in a comp is situational. You take it to take advantage of weak cleansing, which is basic play to win anyway.
i though so too but when i was targeted by condi mesmer (he used pu) nothing i could do eventually. sure i could contest better but after i burn my heal and 3 of my shatter to remove the conditions (about 20 sec a fight) i had nothing but to disengage or die
if i play condi shatter (no pu) yes condi get cleanse but after 10-20 sec the enemy is vulnerable to the burst any kind of burst as if he used heal direct dmg than from my group, if its an ele than probably less utilities available etc…
