in pvp revenant is really bad
its dmg is really low even with zerk amulets while its easy to pressure him with no block, evades, immunity etc…
also the mace/axe do lower condi dmg
but its healing bunker build is good (not great) while cleanse conditions, give stability
its seems more wvw play ground

me and Mailmail were playing around this concept and i want to hear your thoughts
as i find condi shatter build are very good in 1v1/2 and can hold points why not to take it to be more supportive one
as for now shatter build support with blind , with null field and time warp which are both nice aoe along side never ending stability
to be more supportive i went to inspiration line to take temporal enchanter along side with medic feedback
now i am using settler amulet which bring my healing power up so each time i heal myself allies healed for 700 hp
also taking null field and feedback and time warp give my team resistance and super speed and with time warp also quickness
with those 3 glamour field i can have almost perma chaos armor which also can blind my enemies while my shatters also blind , heal and cure condition
my team with blast finisher can also have long duration of chaos armor
with this setup i am harder to kill while able to put pressure with condition around me passive and active (passive with chaos armor)
the lack of stability is notice from chaos line but the ways you help your team is noticeable.
with feedback range class like necro, ranger can do anything to your team
with nullfield enemies try to back off of it while your team wont get conditions on them
time warp is game changer – res faster, stomp faster , kill faster while your enemies are slowed with 360 range

pistol instead of torch – but you need good placement out side of the point while torch blind burn remove condition and blast finisher for aoe chaos armor
rune of mercy – 30% res faster with more hp and more toughness 3.2k armor but less condi dmg and duration

i try it also with power version but the dmg is much lower then the condi atm . as with condi i can be mind set to my team, combos and their hp while with power i need also to mindset to do active dmg

I think its an okay build, but you’re not going to be all that great in larger (more than 2-3 oponents) fights due to all the cross cleanse by eles/guardians/mantra mes that are on most “good” teams.
on the contrary. i dont spamm skills rather looking what my ele use.
example- if he is on fire i proc confusion on him. 6 stacks and he will turn water. he cant do high dmg and migh stacking so he will go air – i proc blind on him , again no dmg, so he go fire or earth so i block (easy as most his skills are aoe) so 5 stacks of torment so he will use utilities (water on cd) then i target him and call for burst. he has no utilties and i can proc confusion on him – up to 17 sometimes. he will die.
if also gaurds there more the better as he will use F2 to cleanse so no utilities for the group he will be the second my group target while i can blind warrior/thief and mitigate dmg on my group. guardian will go down and i will do stomp (stability) so my group can still pressure the other enemies
with time warp 80% win on point (usually mid), if necro going leech i proc confusion and blind like crazy and feedback. he will die in 3 sec
if engi use his heal i proc 6 confusion on him. he will stop attacking while my team can burst him as if he use skill he will get 1-2k dmg if he is not he will take dmg from my team – so win win
also most fo the fight are 2v2 3v3. maybe the first engagement is 4v4 on mid. but i will go far or close so if its 3v1 on close my team got the upper hand on the other 2 points
i will back of w8ing and if its 2v1 i can buy time depends on the 2 enemies comp.
the blind abilities gives you some control over your enemies while you can support your team by mitigate dmg with it.
maybe in higher tier where the support and rotations are very fast this build may not do much good but so far my team wants me to play it as i hardly lost close or far and even when i do my team got 2 other points. sure the rotation is the main key
As my previous post alludes to, I think it’s best if Maim builds try to trend more towards a supportive role rather than “condition bursting”. That’s the role of engineers and necros, not Mesmers.
ok you brough up condi engi and condi necro
i play them both . more on necro . and mesmer can do much better conditions and support. the only thing necro got is fear and boon removal. they lack stability (if not traited), low bleeding stacking , low blind procing, most of their burst come from signet and they got long icd versus the condi mesmer.
engi on the other hand got more condi spamming and procing but with low stacking. he got more aoe heal, block and no blind support and stability. still think if my group want 1 player to go condi mesmer is the class.

good build but need time to learn how to use it
melee class cant get you with the blind . shatter constantly
range will have hard time try to spread staff clones for pressure before you burst

so you know i am big fan of condi shatter even with the mtd nerf and lockdown buff
basically every mesmer is playing powerlockdown with more easy time
i also had fun with it but got bored pretty fast
as more the meta stayed zerker power base one i took the chances to further experiment with the condi shatter and rather by doing dmg and more holding points/decap/cap points
my observations:
1. easy time 1v1 while contesting point (i am not pu and torch used for blind and not stealth)
a. warrior – most of them go rampage so with blind i hardly die. you can contest
b. ele – hard to kill but with some combo they will disengage or die from confusion. you can contest
c. thief – easy to kill if he is not patient . he cant contest while you can
d. ranger – easy to kill with blind and confusion. he cant contest while you can
e. engi – hard to kill but doable depend on player capability and build. easy to contest with stability
f. necro – power can contest the point with aoe but after its gone you can kill. hard to contest
g. mesmer – hard to kill but if you shatter even 1 shatter on his face he will disengage. hard to contest . inspiration mesmer even with cleanse will have to shatter thus lowering thier dmg capabilities
h. guard – hard to kill while contesting
2. can handle 1v2 for short time and even down 1 enemy (hard to stomp). the blind give you time
3. on group play – yes this build doesnt made for burst at all. condi can and will be cleanse but
a. you can pressure the ele/thief/ranger/engi with even 6 confusion (1k dps). if he cleanse shatter and pressure him again. he will die. so while they confuse they wont do much dmg or movement while your group will.
b. support your team with blind
c. you are the perfect stomper with stability and blind. thus your zerk team can do more dmg.
d. you are the perfect resser with stability and blind
e. you make your enemies to use utilities earlier while your team save them for the right moments
f. you are still doing good dmg over time (not a burst 100-0) but if in 4v4 your team manage to down 1 the 3 allies can do dmg on other player while you get the stomp . or you can pressure with condi burst on the down which make the enemies to panic and use all their cleanse leaving them wide open to the kill
g. as you’re mesmer you will be targeted – thus your team will have the upper hand as you are not the dmg dealer or zerker and you can live longer and support yourself
h. you can support with null field or feedback. time warp is amazing for dmg/res/stomp/lowering enemy dps
i. my team doesnt have to take bunker build as i can hold points till help comes while doing more dmg than bunker while soften my enemy to the burst of my team
i would like to hear more ppl opinions if they have tested condi shatter
dont compare it to power mesmer rather to other class role (not build)
as condi atm not being used in tpvp

i agree before the patch lokdown was more rewarding
now many mesmer just spam it on me getting nothing basically beside good dmg
its kinda lost its edge on interrupt the right moment
in pvp condi thief still not valueable as before as he cant contest and hardly contribute to his team.
i tried venom share which is nice for good spike but still the power thief do more dmg and helpful in more ways . and you need good coordination with your team with venom share.
for 1v1 its still strong build with many conditions which cover the bleed and poison (poison buff for us)
in wvw roaming also very strong (and boring)
in wvw zerg fight any condi build wont work as you have shown – the only time you did burning dmg was on the down enemies
in wvw as any condi streanght it works

While most classes get 25%~33% movement speed by taking a single trait, we always have to either sacrifice a weapon set or a signet, or something like Guard to get that 25% mobility that everyone has…

in wvw roaming condi = zerk so if you want change in game style go condi
group play above 10 ppl you need power (no full zerk) and not condi

the problem ppl forget to adapt to the new metas ans skills and play like before and failing.
Mirror heal and blurred frenzy together with ineptitude give me a very easy time against LB rangers.

from my testing (and video posted) the build viable as holding far or close points even in some 1v2 till help comes.
in mid where you have 4v4 or 3v3 if there is ele and/or guard your condi wont goona stick but you will make the ele to be more on water and guard to use cleanse so if your team is good they can burst the ele fast after he gets out of water. etc.
but again condi guard and necro and engi can do it the sae if not better
our burst condi was nerf and we got blind to support us bit more and 1 confusion stack. so now instead of 20 torment and 10 confusion i can do 15 confusion and 8 torment you do the math (moving>skill use)
condi mesmer are great in 1v1 (romaing and hot join) but to be effective in group play you need to play it right with the right group composition
also cause the meta shofted to full power now the bunker lost its place. this is why condi mesmer can shine. as you can hold 1v1 and some 1v2 while doing dmg

the problem with it even if its only 1 condition is that it got huge dmg dot. 5-6k dps which few combo can get it.
i got null field and 2 sigil and torch and i still got killed because 2 guard target me so its doable dmg so in 2 sec i got killed unless i run away.
in 1v1 i won but in 2v1 i lost if i havent back away. so in pvp where you nedd to cap points 2 guards like that can win 2v2 and even 2v3 as its aoe dmg

Thanks. Plays well, but I lack the mobility. With Traveller runes it loses too much Condi damage and duration. For me as a solo player rather not, in a team, it is certainly very good.
if you mean wvw take traveler and stack sigil and bursting and with food you will have higher condi dmg
Ok, here’s a concept for the Duel Blink Mimic + Portal build. The build has a generalist, support theme, namely ressing power. Cele ammy but Knight might work. Or just go marauder if you’re skilled enough to play glass. No real reason not to. Will need to give it a play during game time.

In pvp I run it with travelers and bursting instead of generosity.
Also, mimic instead of null field for a double mirror imagesBtw. I consider yourself a condition builds expert. From your posts here and there, I do not understand if you are happy about condi mesmer atm or if you are not. The build works great even with 1 stack per MtD instead of 2. Isn’t condi mes “balanced” now and “op” before the nerf?
its seems you took the build to the extreme for 1v1 with 2 MI omg. but loosing chaos armor abilities and recharge staff skills and group support and condi cleanse . i also tried it with mimic but notice i can handle without it just fine so take null field for the support
i am not happy . reasons:
1. torment stacks change to confusion result in some lower dps (depends on your enemy skills activation). compare 15 torment for 6 sec and 10 confusion to 15 confusion for 4 sec and 8 torment.
2. i have hoped for the mesmer to be able to compete in tpvp as in team role and not 1v1. or 2v2. against ele, guard in a group its hard to see any difference thus the torment change hurts us more as we cannot burst any dmg for 1-2 sec . so our average dps in those scenarios is 500 dps rather 1-2k dps
3. conditions in tpvp currently is suffering because no class can burst them. mesmer had the potential to do so.
4. the build work well if you manage to play it well. i can do so many mistakes which make my team to carry me or i can suddenly hold far split enemy forces and kill anyone how come for 1v1 and hold nice in 1v2 until help comes which can turn over the score.
5. the build work poorly regarding condition dps in 3v3, 4v4 if any guard or dd ele or both are there. look for the thief, mesmer, ranger, engi and pressure them . ranger with 10 confusion cannot do any dmg for 6 sec, same for all or they get 5k dmg .
6. the build can support with lots of blind, poison, and using skills, and utilities which cleanse. alongside timewarp, null field, chaos storm you team can do wonder if they manage to blast t for chaos armor (blind).
7. i am the stomper and resser as i cant be intrupted and i can blind and pressure just with f1-f4 on the spot
if we just had 2 torment we can join in the meta, but in wvw we would be op in 1v1 (as for now maybe)

That doesn’t make sense to me. Warrior, Guardian and even Elementalist are usually right on top of any given point for most of the engagement. Thieves have to go into melee range in order to shank their enemies. This point is where thief is most strong and also their most weakest, which is why they probably benenfit the most from this build. Additionally, all points are of equal size except for the mid point of Legacy. That being said, of course some points give way to more melee combat than others…
Mesmers/Rangers/Necros are the classes that stay slightly off point, only going in for the kill when they see the opportunity arise. Those are the only 3 classes that typically don’t take full advantage of the AOE distortions.

afrer few matches with full group
thief – good thief will use his bow 50-70% of the time unless he targeted below 50% hp enemy. also you dont know when he gonna burst unless you are all in communication so to create distortion exactly at the right moment is hard
guardian and warrior – you probably wont have both in the same team and if you do you will lacking fire power . and if the guard is bunker you are not needed. yes they will be benefit the most
ele – both in and out
i played with guardian, necro, thief, engi. we lack fire power versus 2 power block mesmer thief, 2 guards
my range team needed help versus the 2 range mesmer but i couldnt helped them while the 2 guardian hold the point
the fight was porlong
on far or close with the thief the build was better as he manage to burst almost freely (i tried spamming distortion when he burst)
Having faced a few more Power Mesmers using PU lately, I must say it is extremely frustrating.
The difference between Mesmer and Thief is that thief has to be on top of you in melee in order to burst. Mesmer doesn’t (you don’t need a 4 clone shatter to knock someone down several pegs) AND Mesmer’s burst is AOE. I see issues here with PU.

Condi Shatter mesmers still need a buff. Something, anything. Maim was crushed far more than IP or any other trait makes up for.
If power shatter is the only thing Mesmer has still after HoT, I’ll be moving on.
so move on cause no buff will come to condi shatter
i think they didnt nerf mtd caused of IP rather they want mesmer to be master of confusion and not torment.

its hard for me to lose the staff meaning protection, blind procing, nice aoe and clones which does nice dmg along side the stunbreak every 8 sec.
pistol is good choice but atm seem to be bugged so not many bleed stack and its hard to shatter him (should i pass 4-6 bleeding and direct dmg or shatter for blind confusion and toremnt) and need to be carefully placed
sword has nice immobilize which can make you do nice burst without enemy dodging
thus its seem mainly 1v1 (wvw romaing) weapon
while my goal is to have bit more support for my team (the res of the necro while pressure the enemy mesmer and get him killed couldnt be done with sword as chaos storm push foes away

if i played versus power pu and because he couldnt bit me he just stayed in stealth for 16 sec i think . this is wrong
veil is great skill mainly use for tactic measured and not for abuse . saw gvg teams use it and its great
take blind when shatter instead of distortion which mitigate dmg
so just give thieves 2 – 3 seconds until revealed if not attacking
or make SR something else

steal give you stealth which is lack with p/p set so you can sneak attack and unload for good burst and bleeding
also steal mug and poison and weaken the enemy
also steal recharge with 60% chance on of your utilities (deception, tricks, venom)
trick also remove another 1 conditions (you got 2 as 1 traited)
steal also blind you enemies around you
combo
bp+unload for fast blind ranger/mesmer/thief etc
smoke screen the same but longer while blocking (good for res also)
SR + sneak attack and unload (if you fast) steal 3k life

i didnt see 20k dmg only when your team down enemy you unload for 13k (2 unload which connect)
you always lookd for the 3v1 and didnt support your 1 ally at far doing 1v2 and went to close for 3v1 – why?
your 2 mesmer did all the dmg. you just finished it with 4k unload
you target the guardian with lots of block and reflect instead of the warrior in mid
you didnt manage to stomp
their thief was a new player
you didnt use pistol 4 to interrupt the res (maybe once on close)
you didnt use SR leach with pistol – it would heal you almost 2k instead of w8 inside of it to heal you 1.5k
you didnt let the guardian bleed to death on close which would gave tour team some 5v4 advantage
you didnt used the fear from necro to help you down ally in mid, not to mention standing on necro field and getting down without using bp+unload for blind combo (npc thief in the mist even use it)

In Conquest, the main issue w/ PvP is it makes your stealth skills last long enough that you can stealth from outside the enemy’s LOS, and then walk up to him for a nearly-instant mirrorblade-mod-gs3-mind wrack burst, which is enough to instagib zerker builds and do heavy damage to other builds.
this is why instagib from stealth should be deleted even for thieves. yes it should do huge dmg but get you 100-0 in 1 sec … NO NO NO .
for now its the main burst for mesmer.
but cause every class has huge burst lets w8 and see
