In all seriousness though, elementalist is my 2nd main and I welcome the warhorn, knowing that it will bring 8 new weapon skills (I’m assuming ele’s will be able to swap attunement with it).
Whatever new weapon we got was going to give us minimum 8 new skills so I’m failing to see how that has anything to do with warhorn itself.
If they can rework mortar for engineer they can rework scepter.

Problem with that is Colin has demonstrated cluelessness regarding WvW in interviews.
I’m WvW and PvP for 95% of the time the 5% PvE is solely due to having to get items that anet saw fit to bar from the TP but I would buy them if I had the chance rather than be forced to farm them.
Don’t start events affecting WvW before reset
The most recent shunning of WvW (excluding the Golem week) has been the changes to the network code to help (s/t)PvP lag that ANet admitted they knew it would give problems to WvW players, and still they went with it. Because ESPOOOOOOOOOORTSSSSSS. As a result, WvW map cap has been lowered.
I don’t remember this was it explicitly stated in that lag thread?
I hope the new HoT map proves me wrong and while it looks pretty pretty with some cool stuff I doubt it’ll hit the mark for those dreaming of RvR DAoC days, might be best if we let that dream die. There is no going back again.
If they implement some of the stuff from the CDI threads then it might have a chance but they seem utterly uninclined to actually do anything players actually want.
A new map is nice and all, but we need fundamental changes like factions or alliances, immersion, real consequences, strategic play and most importantly smart avenues of communication between devs and player base.
The new map is potentially disastrous for lower pop servers.

Here is my idea, please don’t do this golem week again. This is just a boring ktrain for the whole week. And then theres the fact of starting it before the previous week finished possibly pollutes the result for that week. Glicko should also be turned off because its meaningless. One could get the idea that arenanet regard WvW as merely a casual playground whereas most players in WvW (but getting less and less due to neglect and a lack of development) regard it as the main game.
This may very well be the end for me, until now I was still waiting for a valid reason to pre-purchase HoT and then they implemented this. Now I’m not only weighing why I should buy the expansion but also why I should continue to support a game that I care more about than the Dev’s themselves. They don’t listen, they continually implement moronic unplanned junk into the game, we warn them and against better judgement they don’t heed the warnings from those of us that play daily. It’s apparent that regardless of what they say, they truly don’t play their own game, if they do than they are the kind of players they should be getting rid of. This negatively affects a game mode, it’s not fluff, it’s not cosmetic, it doesn’t make it more competitive, you might as well take all the mobs out of PvE and call it an event because that’s on par with what you have done here.
You do realize this is one week only right? Don’t you think your being a bit melodramatic. Its just an event for fun do not read into more then that.
It was terrible after 1-2 hours, a week feels like an eternity in cases like this.

Courtyard can get thrown in the trash and kittened on. Worst map in the pool. You can’t even get your daily on it if there’s anything to do with capturing/defending points.
And if they added an option for it you wouldn’t have to play it if you didn’t w ant to.
No-one has mentioned T1 servers yet? All 3 have a good oceanic presence. Certainly sounds better than T2.
Celestial has been destroyed, our new trait lines focusing on lack of diversity force us into either full condition or full power builds. If you try roaming with celestial you’ll get rolfstompedX1000 as engineer currently is with many bugged traits.

Are you sure the range of the boms area smaller now is a bug ? I would not bet. it is a melee weapon so it has a meaning that it works at melee distance. I did not use it becouse for pvp i found toolkit much better and having toolkit and bombs in the same builds let me out of range weapon .
Well there’s been plenty of discussion about it and no devs not even Josh have stepped in to clarify it.
It should hit the target you have selected even if its an aoe.

After only playing Stronghold all weekend, I will say I definitely enjoy it. It allows inconsequential use of mobility options on engie like rocket boots and elixir 4 in order to get around and more importantly return to a neutral standpoint in battle.
In regards to some things i found troublesome is that Archers are still not very useful in my opinion. Everything the archers can do, most players split up and take care of much faster. My solution is to allow summoning archers to be used more defensively than offensive. Having some npcs that can still slow down the enemy even when the gates go down and guards, Archers on the defending side can still be of use.
This is a good idea.
I actually had a little fun on condi engi today. It actually does pretty ok in the fighting realm, however, needs some tweaks. For the primary tweak, they need to fix toughness so condi is not just as squishy as zerker. I was killing very fine until I got touched by peeps, and it seemed like condi with a glass cannon. Condi is one of the few saving graces for engi at the moment. Alot of the other aspects of engi at the moment are unsatisfactory.
What stats were you running?
I have to admit bombs seem lacklustre ATM, using FT in a burning condi build seems better.
Alernatively you could run a FT elixir build with cele but more of a condition focus. Not ideal, but it works.
I ran this FT build from Phineas Poe in sPvP yesterday with a lot of success:

I don’t really like his build. It offers almost zero condition damage, rendering the whole concept of Celestial kind of pointless.
I don’t think he actually even runs that build any more. His wvw builds for the current meta uses knights not celestial I think.
I have to say i enjoyed Doc very much actually. He kept it informative and very respectful and asked good questions. I get that he is kinda new to GW2 community but don’t we want knew people to come to this game? The second caster seemed like a nice girl but her TS was well beyond unprofessional to say the least.
Doc is new? I recall him streaming during the first stronghold beta and he has his own guild on CD IIRC.
Because last time there was a tournament people complained about it like mad and said that they never wanted a tournament again and that ArenaNet should work on changes in WvW rather than having tournaments with the exact same WvW as before.
Plus the tournaments resulted in an absolutely poisonous atmosphere in WvW for the duration and led to the exodus of many players from the game.
Seems like a great idea for a fun and crazy week to me. I like the idea of putting crazy twist into WvW for a week to break monotony.

What about the effective bomb blast radius being 180 instead of 240? I don’t see it in there.
In WvW most guilds I know aren’t running arcane at all, and I just did a fractal for the first time in a long time and was told not to use arcane for it. So I’d say our build variety has improved. IMHO eles are in perhaps the best place they’ve been since beta.
It’s a bad design choice even for a week long event.
What’s even worse is that they most likely wont disable glicko for it as the should.
This needs to be emphasised, how can they claim to provide a decent ratings system when they don’t disable it for events like this.
Why would they bother doing a test server when people would use them to test everything BUT what anet put on there to test? No reason to use a test server when it wouldnt accomplish anything.
WTF! Test servers are used successfully in almost every MMO.
Anet seem to have a policy on not providing explanations for balance changes which is just so frustrating. Even putting a one liner in the patch notes would be something kitten .
Whats is kittening frustrating about these nerfs is that they refuse to explain them. Its like they have a policy on not explaining balance changes. But it just makes the community frustrated and build up ill will towards anet.
Will WvW rating still be determined during the Golem Rush event? If so why given it will clearly result in skewed results?
Let me ask this, what is wrong with this event? Personal opinion aside on what you may feel is wrong in wvw or not, this seems like it just a fun time, that no one is forcing on anyone to do. The game needs shake up now and then from routine and such.
Its like in sPvP if they added free heroes to help each side. People take the competition seriously, this cheapens the experience and only adds to the impression that anet don’t take the mode seriously.
So I’ve got 46 tomes of knowledge sitting in my bank right now along with a birthday booster to get any character to level 20. The plan is to use them on a new revenant but I wonder if I’m going to destroy the experience in using them and being a instant-max char? I usually dont learn a class well until I’m max level(I’m still clueless on a lot of stuff on my engi and he’s been 80 forever), so does anyone who’s played a bit in the beta think its going to hurt the experience or won’t it matter?
I could barely get thru PvE on 1 character so as far as I’m concerned it ruins nothing.
You didn’t specifically say the AMR bug, but since there have been 0 nerfs to engis since the patch dropped, it was a pretty safe assumption. Care to elaborate?

Unless you think that the reduction from a 90 second cd to a 10 second cd without any mention from devs or patch notes was a completely legitimate intended change…
Where did I say that the AMR BUG fix was not a BUGfix? Where did I even mention it? The fact remains there have been nerfs to not just engi abilities but other classes as well which have been given priority over bug fixes.

I would imagine so, like with weapon swap.
i too am looking for feedback about lyssa runes. because my initial guess is that trying to save the cleanse for when it will matter is going to get in the way of using the mo
Those runes act against nearby foes don’t they so may not be of much use with the mortar being a long range weapon.

Just to add clarification that no account is luckier than another in the sense that there’s no hidden internal modifier that influences whether they are lucky or not. Every account has the same probability of getting a precursor just like every other one.
How can you say that with such certainty? And I don’t mean anything deliberate I mean it could be something unforeseen. Look how long they took to find the original rng bug years ago.
Anet has stated it as being such either late last year or earlier this year.
Anet swore there wasn’t a problem with loot drops in early 2013, even going so far as to poke fun at those making the claims, and were later proven to be wrong.

There are games a heck of a lot older that charge a whole lot more (effectively) for an expansion.
And there are also games that charge nothing upfront for an xpac to subscribers who subscribe for 1 month.
No MMORPG is ever released complete. No expansion is ever released complete. There are always things that come down the pike after the expansion.
That is not true with regard to story.
Of course it should, the sPVP reward tracks are the best reward system in the game, it beggars belief that they can’t see that it should be applied to WvW as well.
