To be honest I think that the CDI program was dead when in active use. It really did seem more like a distraction than anything else.
Are you kidding? The CDI’s on Raids and on Guild Halls went like gangbusters, miss a day of reading posts and you’d have enormous amounts to catch up on. A great deal of the discussion bore fruit in the systems we see now, albeit without exactly matching any one person’s suggestions (as we should expect).
The experience may have been different with PvE, but it certainly wasn’t stellar with the WvW CDIs. I can’t comment on the PvE ones since I don’t give a kitten about PvE.

The problem with starting “suggestion” threads is that it is difficult to get people to take the time to write up long posts with detailed suggestions and ideas when everyone knows none of it will lead to anything.
Even most beta feedback and the previous CDIs went ignored when push came to shove, so at a time like this when it appears as if no one is answering phones at Anet except Gaile, what’s the big incentive to waste time? The devs don’t even read this forum – only Reddit.

Core mes is still enjoyable. Frankly I’d rather play it and die more than touch pay2win chrono with a ten foot pole. It’s for bad players, much like Blackwater was back in the day.

As a long time WvW – player of Elona Reach I can tell you, that – for some reason – most of the guilds seem to love the new borderlands. Their* manpower hasn’t changed since HoT. And as you can tell by the help of the statistic, they went from silver to almost no.1 in no time. Solve the equation.

The HoT disaster hasn’t affected the German servers much (not negatively anyway) because they tend to have a different playstyle (read: cannons, and more cannons).
The DBLs cater to zergs and blobs, which is the only thing we ever faced when matched with Elona, RS, or Kodash.

I think a punishment is warranted, to the tune of a week-long suspension or something, but longer than that much less a ban is not.
I say this because I spent years as a WvW main and reported and provided video of countless of hackers, people teleporting into towers and fully, painstakingly upgraded keeps to flip them, and if killed, teleport right back in two seconds. They were so brazen in their actions, emoting while they did it, because they knew nothing would happen to them despite our reports. And I know nothing did, because I added them to my friend list and saw them active and logging on unhindered.
Thus I feel that if unfair gameplay in a PvP game mode, where it actually hinders the experience of other players, goes entirely unpunished, then what difference does someone botting mastery points or vistas in PvE make? It makes no difference to me.
Yes, if you violate the TOS, there should be consequences. I just think when it comes to violations in PvE vs PvP modes, the punishments are completely backwards.

My replies, too, were getting deleted and infracted for no reason. I thought perhaps the thought police was on patrol again and had wandered into the WvW forum.
But then I realised I was being silly, wasting my time on exhibiting my displeasure on the forums when I could be playing the game like thousands of others, enjoying the exciting expansion content and grinding exploring in the new areas, unlocking the new elite specializations which enrich the game with more dynamic and engaging battles. Not to forget the latest great deals to be found at the Gem Store!

Hahahaha YES! Here’s a fix for the population issues. The upper 3 tiers get Desert BL maps (you know, because they require real skill and all that). The tiers from 4 down get Alpine BL maps. THAT is how they can get people to transfer down.
Not only would I come back to the game, I’d transfer to be back on Alpine.

sorry for the double post and this thread is tldr but anyway heres my suggestion
why not add the points per kill system like
a normal rank killed = 10point
bronze= 50 point
silver= 100 point
gold=300 point
platinum=500 point
mithril=1000 point
and last diamonds = 5000 points
that way, the defense and offense would be more tactical and the roamers would be more…..careful and skillful

with great power comes great responsibility
and also to prevent the camp spawning, have the team ability to bombard all enemies within 10000 radius from spawn at a 1 hour cooldown, only tanks survive the zerkz dead on the spot, of course this would trigger 1st within an x amount of players on spawn much like siegecrusher and siegerazer does
I think it would just make the alt-f4 routine more prevalent.

Now that the HoT meta is starting to settle anyone else notice that a handful of elites have become nearly unkillable in skirmish without heavy focus and many of these builds maintain a solid DPS?
Sustain has become too prolific in my opinion at least on builds that can output decent DPS. I have completely stopped engaging Dragon Hunters, Tempests and Scrappers. Any of the bunker Chronomancers also get a pass.
Not sure if this is a good or bad thing but a lot of fights have become an exercise in futility or a bring three friends sort of deal.
This is where being rubbish at 1v1 has it’s benefits. I can’t tell if someone amazing killed me or whether is was an OP class. I’ll always say it’s an OP class tbh.
No one has to be rubbish at 1v1 anymore.
If you are, just pick up one of the pay2win elites.

The automatic upgrades are fantastic. Anytime my server faces other servers of lower ranking, we can just flip their border and leave it entirely and it’ll be T3 in no time. It’ll be funny watching the one or two scouts they have trying to keep camps flipped to prevent the auto-upgrades.
Another great thing is, we don’t really need scouts either. It takes those lower rank servers with their small groups so long to get through our T3 walls on their border that even if they make it to lord we can wp in anytime we want and snuff them out. Even if we die, just instantly respawn right next to lord, lol. It’s hilarious.
Then again if they did manage to flip it and somehow upgrade it to T3, it takes our zerg less than 6 minutes from outer gate to ring up (I’ve timed it), whereas their small groups grow white beards by the time they see a glimpse of the lord room. So no big.
Please don’t change a thing; we don’t want to have to leave people behind from our karmatrain to actually scout, siege, and guard those keeps. This is working as intended.

They’re not talking to us. They sent their PvE forum liaison – who is neither a developer or a customer representative – to deliver information she doesn’t even understand, being that she is never in this subforum and doesn’t play WvW.
It’s just to deliver a statement about changes which take the least amount of effort for a game mode they will soon discontinue. And this is supposed to make our socks roll up and down?

It seems empty because the roamers are gone, as are most of the defenders. Zergs don’t stick around on the map after they flip it. Duh.

Our home border keeps getting k-trained on a regular basis and it is very rare that they bring golems, omegas OR discount. They simply do not need them. Just the other day it took the enemy blob less than 6 minutes to go from touching the outer gate to killing the lord. (Lol, t3 means so much…) There weren’t any golems.
Golems are useful for small groups, duos and trios of would-be defenders who have the ungrateful task of flipping their own border back. They are useful because of the increased supply cost of siege and the random, frequent interval at which the guard mobs respawn. You can’t run back and forth between the keep and the camp – you need mobile siege.
There is no excuse for this change. Not under the current climate anyway.

The number of guilds who have or will ever have the capacity to apply these upgrades is small, at least compared to the number of active defense-oriented guilds we had before.
The new system leaves many defenders and their small guilds outside with their noses pressed against the window. It is not an uplifting experience.
This will not result in a resurgence of defenders in any meaningful capacity.
I have seen many towers claimed by our guilds under the new system. I am yet to see a single one of those guilds come defend it when it is under attack.

I would most definitely quit, I am close enough to it as is. It would serve as the last nail. Not just the game mode, but the entire game, seeing as PvE is dull as hell and sPvP is now a joke.
While it seems many people have trouble grasping the concept, server pride is indeed a thing. It’s about community. I don’t want to be in a WvW guild, I never have. I don’t enjoy running in a zerg or a pre-approved build.
If they had simply done the sentry and dolly improvement and some other fixes on the old borderland, plus class balance patches, but beyond that left it well enough alone, I could have kept on playing.

The really worrying things about that is the restrictions on alliance chat- and the fact that it mentions grawls, ie PVE in what is supposed to be wvw.
The application is using a search string for the word “alliance” so it displays all lines including that word, but not all lines are associated with one another. More than likely the grawl bit has to do with a PvE quest, like the Priory & Vigil stuff before them in the results.

I’m from Piken and to be honest our PPT is rubbish but the enemy flat out refuses to fight us and when they do they wipe 9/10 times, i’m struggling to understand why they are so bad at this part of the game (not an insult, just an observation).
We don’t PPT much but we PPT enough to keep our place, but honestly EVERY server we fight can’t fight back or just runs, it’s not fun anymore, what happened to all these servers ?.
I can’t speak for EB, but at least on Alpine home BL Gandara gave you fights if you came for them and didn’t bring a zone blob. I haven’t seen Pikens in ages though, but if our slide down to Silver continues I’m sure that’ll happen soon enough.
Just don’t expect to get many fights on the Desert boredomlands. They’re all in EB now, what’s left of our fighting force.
