That’s unavoidable. It matters whether the wealth is generated by Chinese farmers or western TP flippers though.

China farmers – as their name suggests – farm gold and materials via bots either on hacked accounts or their own accounts. That means that wealth is generated from and injected back into the game. If the farmer sells this overabundance of wealth gained through botting (that legitimate farmers can’t compete with) to players A / B / C / D / E then that casues deflation.

Experienced flippers on the other hand log into the game, monitor the market and repost stuff for about half an hour then log out. Their method doesn’t generate wealth but reallocates it. The wealth goes from players A / B / C / D / E to player Z the TP tycoon who then hoards this wealth until it can be used to turn a profit. This causes inflation.

Bots can be beneficial to the average player as even though their stuff loses market value due to oversaturation they can also buy things much cheaper. That’s bad for Anet because it doesn’t nudge the player towards purchasing gems. Flippers on the other hand elevate prices and make the gem-gold conversion (or buying gold illegally which is risky) the only viable method of acquiring coveted items since most people suck at flipping and simply playing the game gives jacksh*t.

Farming causes inflation by creating more money supply.
Trading REDUCES inflation by deleting money supply from the game.

He doesn’t have the code that is used to generate the temporary code, so he cannot use the authenticator. He would need to get it removed and then add it himself.

Your hacker has added an authenticator in order to use it to lock you out of the account. You’ll need to contact support (see the link at the top of the page) to get the authenticator removed.

Lol no it’s not. It’s always easier to just swipe your credit card if your time has any value at all. Sure, some if the content may be fun but it is so unrewarding that the time investment isn’t worth it.

If you need fake prizes popping up in order to keep you attracted to a game, this model isn’t going to work for you and you should move on.

Expansions are done to reinvigorate cashflow. The fact that we have not seen an expansion is evidence that the cashflow does not warrant the unnecessary risk of producing and releasing an expansion.

Until such time as the gem store fails to meet their revenue requirements, there will not be an expansion.

If playing this game were rewarding then the OP wouldn’t have felt compelled to use the cash shop in the first place. The fact that the shop even has these RNG gambles is highly unethical.

This is actually one of the most rewarding structures possible. You can convert your time in nearly ANY activity that you enjoy into the reward for nearly any other activity. This system allows you to play the content you like and avoid the content you don’t like and still have access to all the rewards in the game.

That’s a labor-intensive question to answer. And one where the people who actually know wouldn’t be interested in answering because that would hurt them financially.

I know a problem I’ve only had for the past few weeks is when I go to sell an item from inventory, it sometimes keeps that items numbers for the next item I try to sell. Which is a little annoying when I list things for 2s over the lowest seller.

Yes, I’ve had this issue a few times myself recently.

If I use the right click menu in my inventory on Item A to “sell on trading post”, all items I sell during that transaction will attempt to use the “sell to highest buyer” and/or “match lowest seller” amount for Item A regardless of the item.

Here’s a tip:

Keybind your “walk mode” toggle.

If you turn on walk mode, you’ll only take 2-4 steps back from the fear, which means you’re still in zooka/bow range.

If you have a bow, you should probably use that instead of a zooka if you are good at dodging as it attacks much faster (even the slow Ranger longbow) and typically does more damage. Again, that’s assuming you don’t need the defense and movement skills that the zooka offers.

With Expertise, rangers were very strong with hammers, axes, daggers, spears, and scythes in GW1.

At times and/or in some content they were stronger with those weapons than warriors, assassins, paragons, and dervishes were.

The point was that they were designed as a bow class, as their weapon skills were exclusively bow-related. GW1 allowed for some very creative class building which allowed players to find ways to do things that weren’t designed.

Does every person who first picks up this game think the class is built around bows? Yes.

ArenaNet screwed up with handling player expectations on this class, which leads to the problems with Rangers being excluded from group content.

Even people who played Rangers in GW1 would expect Rangers to be a bow class in GW2. I think that simply naming it “Strider” instead of Ranger would have done volumes in setting better expectations.

That first time you get full bags and realize you don’t need to sweat it because you have an unlimited use salvage kit makes it worth the money.

1. Have your friend get a real anti-virus/malware scanning software and check for nasty things.
2. Have your friend change his email password to something new and secure.
3. Have your friend change his GW2 password.
4. Have your friend turn on Email or Two Factor Authentication.
5. Have your friend contact support via the link at the top of this webpage. He needs to let them know he was hacked and would like two things:
a. Change his account email to a new address (a brand new one).
b. Reset his account to before the hack.

It is imperative that he do these things in this order or else he will simply be hacked again.

Wanting new content is something that is unrelated to the gem shop. New permanent content (expansions) will always be behind a paywall, regardless of the ongoing revenue structure.

You use tokens to buy dungeon weapons.

Then you salvage for money (to buy a pre) or forge (for a chance at a pre).

The nice part is that you get the tokens while running dungeons so you’re always building money that way and can eventually buy a pre if you never get lucky.

You may enjoy grinding the same old parts of the game that existed since release, to grind up 60g+ gold each week, then visiting the Gem Store, then rinse and repeat for months and months on end. But you’re not everyone.

Not everyone wants to play a game to do daily chores for pocket money, then visit the shops.

Repeat: This is a game. Not work/a job.

Game content pays coins. If you find activity A to be a chore, do activity B.

In column 1 we have a game that provides playable content for free and charges for a specific minority of skins.

In column 2 we have a game that provides playable content for money and all skins as part of that playable content.

In order for column 2 to be worth paying for playable content, the rate of skin acquisition divided by cost per month must be less than the same rate of skin acquisition divided by cost per skin from column 1.

Essentially, the only way in which paying for column 2 is a good financial decision is if you are buying more than $10-15 worth of skins every month in column 1. If you are spending less than $10-15/month on skins in column 1, you would be “duped” if you instead played the game from column 2.

Demand for the skin has not yet been met. The other precursors are declining because the number of people willing to pay that much for the skin is declining.

Just remember that when it comes to skins, each one is it’s own market. Sure, they’re all precursors, but they don’t always move in groups.

We are still dealing with the demand surge (it’s taking a while longer due to low volume). Once enough wealthy people who formerly weren’t thinking about getting the skins acquire the Precursor skins, prices should drop.

The problem with the temple events is that there is no built in reset function. All event chains should have a built in system for resetting back to stage 1. For the temples, I’d go with “Win 3 defense missions” as the trigger for the reset function that then starts a mini event chain that takes the temple back to stage 1.

I saw the wind catcher buy orders. They’re down to 40g, and I assume most of the ones above that were filled rather than withdrawn.

It makes me wonder if there’s some insider trading going on. Perhaps someone knew the wind catchers were coming back, and that’s why the price spiked so hard in the past month: baiting the buy orders up so they can be filled by some guy who just runs off with the money.

To elaborate:

The Mail System is for sending GIFTS to other players (like whenever a new player joins my guild, I send them some food and potions for the buffs).

The Trading Post is for buying and selling items (i.e. trading). It is 100% secure and scam proof.

Unless it is a real life friend of yours or a trusted member of your guild, anyone who wants to trade using the mail system IS trying to scam you.

Killing the Svanir Shaman nets three items:

1. Daily Bonus Chest (the shaking one above your mini map) – This one is once per day per account.

2. Daily Boss Chest (the big one that spawns in a set location on the ground) – This one is once per day per characters.

3. Champion Loot Chest (the one that you loot from his body or the small chest that spawns where he died) – This one is available every time you kill him, but is dependent upon the undocumented tagging rules. There is a lot of conjecture as to how these rules work, but nothing is confirmed. It is commonly believed that doing either a lot of DPS or the first DPS will increase your chance to get this item. If you have a full map zerging the boss, expect that this chest will not drop for you.
