You know, why put up patch notes? I mean, they are lying in patch notes anyway.
For every guardian using pull, there is a necro waiting for that moment to press 5 on their staff and then watch the mobs flee in terror.
I’m pretty sure that this won’t ever be fixed or changed. Character customization is apparently not part of a “living, breathing online world” or a theme park mmo.
There won’t be any ele nerfs, why would there be? We are meant to poke at each other endlessly with skills that don’t do enough damage to scare a fly.
I suppose Anet tried the more damage-oriented version of pvp and they were scared of the results. Now it’s time to go back to good old cele wars. Maybe cele wars 2 since there was a little break of a month in-between.
It was probably a “bug fix” like every other balance/design decision too.

Server population does not change that much, it’s the monkeys at anet pushing random buttons that govern the server population indicators.

No thanks, there are enough mesmers playing these total rubbish condition builds where they just dodge around with staff and think they are actually useful. All it takes is one half decent dd ele to negate your gimmicks.
To all the genius people in this thread and elsewhere… Mirror Blade is something that you can DODGE hilariously easily.
If Anet follows their present route of nerfing every class that can burst, you will have a glorious celestial meta again, where eles are going through endless rotations and barely damage each other, cleanse all conditions, engis will quietly get their range back so they don’t feel left out and then all you still need is the shoutbow since Anet will have to fix the warriors (they cannot stay in this rampage or gtfo state).
Too bad that the celestial meta is plain boring as kitten.
It was not a bug. Anet says “fixed a bug” when they don’t want to deal with explaining their attempts at pleasing the herds of people who cry about something (and of course if they can get away with it, they could not claim bugs in connection with turrets).
It’s a really clever yet quite disgusting practice.
At least we are all very thankful for having been nerfed. The mesmer community has a bit of a Stockholm syndrome.

The only fun world boss would be tequatl because it is perfectly balanced between being an open world boss still doable with random people who know what to do and not being a “press 1 to win” zergfest.
Triple Trouble is just too much trouble for too little rewards. I guess it’s aptly named at least.
But the point is pve equipment makes everything overpowered. You’ll never have burn tick for anywhere near to 7k in PVP. Such ridiculous things are just possible in pve through specific equipments and the overall stat buff compared to pvp.
Tell that to the burn guards stacking 18 stacks of burning with one combo.
Anet seems to be balancing classes based on what they do best… RNG. How it actually affects anything is secondary.
You need only one run, but you have to get really lucky in that one run. (Provided you have a high enough personal reward level to be eligible for weapon skins.)
Obviously the burst classes (starting with mesmer now) will be brought back down so far that celestial monkeys will run around for another year or two. kitten this.
I’m not unhappy with the update. We really needed the nerfs. Just look at the subforum. Everyone is happy, clapping their hands because it was such a needed change. Because once it becomes common knowledge that mesmer is not OP anymore, all the people who were just there to play the flavor of the month will vanish and the rest can go back to be special snowflakes. Being special snowflake is what mesmers want to be after all.
We can justify every nerf instead of realizing what you wrote in your post. This whole company has no clue how to balance a game, classes, pvp, pve, anything. Thus they “balance” based on forum/reddit complaint posts. “Ah yes, we have to do something about profession X because there are 90 reddit posts complaining about it”
Curious how we had to deal with turret engineers for several months before they were finally taken down. They never changed pewpew longbow rangers even though there have been a lot of complaints about those too. I guess Anet developers have tunnel vision.

We really need a “nerf this” thread for every class. Except rangers. Poor rangers.
I dont like it. Ran a fractal on my engi the other day with a full glamour build mesmer, while this is OK in lower end dungeons, once you hit a certain point other builds just outshine it so much its not funny.
For higher end PvE the haste / slow effects it provides just dont cut it. For lower end, lowbie dungeon bosses that can be downed in few secs using timewarp, sure, but not pass there. I would rather the mes provide MI 100 times over TW. So much more useful.
And the other fields, null field and feedback, several magnitudes lower in usefullness then timewarp. Only way to get full use out of them is if the mes traits for boons on chaos armor and procs it all the time for the team of off those fields, but then the other aspects of the mes suffer too much, take too big of a hit. Just not worth it.
Are we playing the same game? Like it was explained in detail a few posts above, why on Earth would you not bring time warp? You hate the haste effect? Why? You also hate feedback and null field because… reflection and condi removal/boon rip is so useless eh?
Doing the same routine, some dailies, some wvw, some pvp, high fractals, dungeons, even some SW events, couple of world bosses.
By the way… just a technicality but if you log in to get your daily and log out, can you still be considered a “veteran” or are you simply just no longer a player of this here game?

Just for the record, we are NOT “rabid wolves.” We are just loyal gamers who worked hard to get our rewards in the HOM and cannot retrieve our rewards because of some bug that is now going into it’s 5th month with the only ETA of a relaunch of the working properly HOM is a generic “soon.” (Although, I have been informed it is a pretty good “soon” by Lauren in this thread —- a more specific ETA would be very nice)
Well, some act like rabid wolves. Because you are not unable to retrieve your reward because of a bug that is going into the 5th month… The bug has been fixed within hours. Anet could have opened the HoM right away but we requested (and hopefully they felt) that they also needed to clean up the mess the bug created and remove the rewards that were handed out for free.

Well, Trahearne says something along the lines of “i was born to destroy your kind” to Zhaitan’s minions at some point. Even if he does not know he was meant to be a servant of Mordremoth – and probably the writers did not know either – this sounds cool.
It could actually synergize well with mesmer/chronomancer so why feel insulted?
If they think that Now GW2 is unbalanced, why don’t they left before, when ele and engi will be able to win in 1vs3?
Yes, ele’s burn (guardian’s can’t stack burn so frequently out of the befgin of the battle and they can’t stack 20 might by itself, making burn deal really high damage) and mesmers are actually a little OP.
But all the other classes seems to be balanced, I’ve see fights really balanced.
And there will always be a “OP” class.
If ANet tone down a little (just a little) the damage and the hide duration of mesmers and reduce a little the ability of the ele to auto-stack might and the number of burn stacks that they’re skills and traits apply (why they have too many traits and skills to applyburn in active and passive ways and that recharge too fast) everything will be ok.
I think that actually is the more balanced and funny sPvP I’ve ever played on GW2.
Because they played engi or thief or something that destroyed mesmers and now they are kittened that they need to adjust.
Can you imagine the outcry if thief got invulnerable frames?

If you see a bunch of illusions running towards you, you can expect to be blown up so dodge or evade it? Oh you get stunned before it lands? Use a stunbreak. You have none? Why not?

omfg. Yes, as a mesmer, I totally agree that Confounding Suggestions and Blinding Dissipation need some treeks. However, these have been covered a million times in a million different posts. People are so stupid sometimes.

Mesmer….I’ve had my character stunned and been downed in one go without a thing I can do about it on some classes. While they have better survivability than a thief… I like playing my mesmer but…they need some toning down somewhere.
Not only do they have better damage and survivability than a thief, their portal on top of this makes the class even more ridiculous.
If you are stunned and then downed without a thing you could do then you were either a) in a team fight having used all your utilities previously or b) asleep. Either way it’s nowhere near OP or ridiculous.

It’s weird when it comes up during Guild Missions when 30+ people just from the guild are in one map. Not sure what the lower threshold is, but it’s odd anyway.
I played a lot of different classes/builds since the june 23rd patch and guess what, mesmers don’t one-shot me even on berserker amulet. You guys need to get your head from where it is buried deep and realize that you cannot let a mesmer freecast in team fights. Appoint someone with enough punch to kill it/keep it busy.
1v1 it is even easier, they are extremely predictable.
Of course all of the above would require to actually think and not cry to mommy to help you out with the big bully, which is admittedly easier.
I’m guessing exactly as long as it takes. Seriously though, repeating that they had 4 months won’t open the Hall of Monuments any faster.

Solo queue needs to come back. It’s time to realize that the idea of this hybrid queue was good on paper but does not work in practice.
There is no shame in admitting that and going back – at least on this one subject – to the previously working model.
So mesmers are basically a bunch of underdogs who actually LIKED to be beaten up by any random thief and being borderline useless? What is going on now is basically that people have to adjust to the changed rules, simple as that. Also what kind of mesmer is cheering for thieves? Ever?

Sorry to burst any bubbles about awesomely put together asura armor combos but i never notice what they are wearing, which weapons they have equipped or which gender they are. They are just too small, not noticeable at all unless you are looking specifically.
I have enter dungeons as ranger before, but before it starts, I was asked if I have an elementalist or warrior. I was “forced” to change to my elementalist if not, I guess they probably would have kicked me because of that. sigh.
There just isn’t enough information here to know why you’ve been asked. There could have been another ranger already, they wanted the indisputably higher dps and utility of elementalist, the lfg could have pointed out that they needed elementalist.
Not sure what that would accomplish. That one person is working on it, we don’t really need periodical reports about how they are fixing it. When it is done, the HoM will be reopened.
Eles did not need a sword. Maybe an axe. But warhorn will do just nicely.
If you have ever tried to kill the veteran dredge in the dredge fractal, then you know you do NOT want veterans in any dungeon. Not that kind anyway.
And this topic is why I never bother running dungeons in GW2. I love running instances/dungeons in other mmorpgs. Dungeons ain’t even timed compared to other MMO where time ranking might determine loots. Yet people make it all competitive that extra few minutes to getting their gold. The design is forgiving, unfortunately GW2 players make playing it unforgiving with certain mindsets.
Actually every mmo has a best way of running instances and every group in any mmo will want to do instances as painless and quick as possible. There is simply no need to make something take longer – unless you are doing a fun 5-necro run in CoE just for the sake of it.
Except if you don’t want to swap out equipment, profession, runes, skills, traits, etc. I’m playing cause I enjoy playing. You make it seem like it’s a chore you want to get out of the way as fast as possible. “Ah geez, do I have to run AC1P.”
I’ve even specifically pointed out in my previous post that there is fun in doing these dungeons when everyone in your party is doing their job so there are no hiccups. It’s a chore if you are doing AC P1 with a party that takes 30 minutes to kill the queen spider.
