Hehe really? I had heard about it since my first weeks in game. Anyhow, the bug report thing is in Options > Support > Bug report. Also you can use the command /support or /bug in chat to bring up that panel. It takes a screenshoot itself when you open it but you can get it to take another if you prefer.

Yes, it has been reported before and the reason is that instances share the same map as the normal areas, as obviously seen.

I don’t see how it could be an issue to have copies of maps for that purpose. We wouldn’t have more than 2 “copies” for each affected map and afaik not many maps involved in PS hava been affected. I don’t think it would increase too much the already huge size of the game client.

Couldn’t you write more clearly and properly please? This way everyone else, including devs, can understand more clearly what you mean and then be able to help you more properly. This is not a real time chat but a static webpage, you don’t have to write things in rush. No offense intended but just it’s hard to understand your posts.

Also it’s good to remember that some of the consumable has similar names to ones that doesn’t count toward collection. I made a mistake consuming one and then I saw it didn’t count, it was when I realized I used the wrong item :P And yes, it’s even completable after event is over, as other has said the items are plenty available on TP or can be crafted.

Story itself gives you a good portion of XP needed for the next level. It doesn’t have to be 10-level chunks. Heck, if something was OP before why not, I don’t know, lower the difficulty? That should be way easier.

And that’s just the example I tested out myself and found it’s easier to either build in anticipation or level beyond the recommended level. I am sure there are others.

Maybe I wasn’t around that time and also since I don’t recognize that name… can you tell more about that and how does it have to do with the subject here? Are you talking about why they decided to make story steps in chunks? Just trying to understand your point.

Also, a thing is before it would be player’s choice to wait and get upper level before progressing or take the risk and playing with low or equal level. Now, the game forces ppl to be upper lvled before playing it. What’s the purpose of having story levels then… Just for me it feels like game is dictating the way the players must play their story…

This happened to me with Echoes of the Past, even though I have completed it (and all the achievements). It’s really bothersome. Choosing to ‘continue’ it drops me off at the very first instance of the story, which would be Trouble at Fort Salma. I went through it again just now, to be sure, and it still won’t mark complete.

Yup, exactly as happened to me. When I just went to start the current episode it said my current one was Echoes of the Past even though I never replayed that one. Also, it kept showing that little star in it instead that Anet logo, like on the completed ones. Even more, after completing Tangled Paths now it’s the one which have the star as if it’s my current, when I have it already completed and I haven’t even chosen to replay it.

Yup I had noted it too, I had reported it in game when I saw it. The names are still visible even if you zoom all the way out.

It’s not quite clear why should it be split like that. When you just create the character, you’re in the story mode. Before, it would continue as-is, and allow you to pause whenever you want. Story was always there. You could pause it if you didn’t want to do it right now, but it was up to you.

Now your short front story is immediately cut out. You’ve fought Earth elemental grabby hands, you got injured, and then…. nothing. Narrative stops. You wander around aimlessly and there’s nothing story-related to do. You have to do random harts and do something else to level up to get to 10/20/30… and story then pretends that you didn’t go away for several days to level up.

When I just bought GW2 the story was the most awesome part and basically did guide me through the whole game, before I got into wvw and other things later

Now it’s all drawn out and tries to slow you down arbitrarily to “level up” and stretch out the time needed for story, which is not fun.

Yup, that’s how I feel about that too. Before you could continue story whenever you wanted. “Oh, are you low level yet? Well, it’s up to you to face it and have hard time or have a break to get the proper level.” Now, you are just forced to do something else just because the game thinks you aren’t ready or prepared to progress, and not even giving clearly any other objective or telling you clearly what’s your next step (yes, I mean the PS going poof from screen when you aren’t allowed to do it yet).
Stop dumbing down stuff, let people decide by themselves.

Personal story-wise, “chunked” mode is disappointing, because of the large gaps. You play a few story steps and then it goes away for a while, and other than “new things near you” and dailies nothing shows up in the right top corner. That familiar green star disappears completely. Wen I’ve finished first chunk it was very weird. “That’s it? Where did the story go?” (and then read in the Hero panel that it “continues at level 20”). I guess it’s just impatience speaking in me, as story (and leveling up) gives cool loot and I always wanted to do the next step sooner

No, that’s just the lack of “user friendly” brought by the NPE (that’s ironic as it’s meant to be more intuitive and user friendly). That was one of my first annoyance when I heard about NPE stuff, in that case it feels like “is it over already? Where did story go?”. It’s weird to get the player used to that green star leading them to the next step and then seeing it gone all suddenly…

Even if that answer is "we’re not going to revert or re-include the missing steps", then at least we have some solid information to make a decision on whether to proceed with the PS or continue to wait.

Yes, some info about what are the plans is nice. I have put my Personal Story in hold until something is done or said about that (just now I was just a few steps from getting it completed...) :S

When character is lower level, some trait unlocks (especially if you’re doing EOTM) result in a funny situation. "You have unlocked this trait! Want to open your traits panel and select it? [ disabled yes ] [ NO ]"

Yay, the "wonderful" (nop) NPE kicking in... *sarcasm mode off*

What’s going on is just side effects of a stupid mess made for NPE’s sake, unneeded changes or fixes for things that weren’t broken in first place -_- (Sorry, no offense intended) And with all respect Jeffrey, I’m sorry but whenever I see posts from you trying to explain how PS steps should be I get more and more confused, it clearly shows me something wasn’t well planned and executed here. It just drives me nuts to read “oh, did you play with someone else and accept progress? If so it would put you in the same next step as them” (or something like that). Sense and logic has been denied… -_-

While we are on the subject of story steps, do you happen to know if there has been any progress in restoring the Greatest Fear story arc that was removed for anyone who wasn’t already on it before the September patch hit?

Based on how long https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Changes-Coming-to-the-NPE/, in which there was some posts about the removed story step, hasn’t received any dev posts I would say no news about that so far.. not holding my breath in hope either…

A few days ago I was leveling up my crafting and I had to buy a lot of those. I didn’t noted if I was being charged more but I wasn’t really paying attention to my money. I’ll take a look at it again to see if something is wrong, although I’m on a different discipline if it even matters.

You can’t make the lowest level underwater weapons anymore, so that means you won’t be able to discover the very first trident, spear, or speargun/harpoon gun available. I think they did that because of the NPE and how underwater combat isn’t introduced until level 8 or whatever.

Yay the dumb NPE breaking up stuff… >.>

Dunno if anyone has confirmed it, but I personally tested this crafting recently (after a similar post about someone who was unable to make a low level spear). And you definitely cannot craft the lowest level tridents, harpoon guns, and spears anymore.

Maybe it explains why the API says it has no discipline for that recipe. The recipe itself is still in game but no one can use it anymore.

No dialogue showing up for team members

Even the dialogues sometime show up for the rest of the team sometime not and you have to read to the others what the png is saying since they can’t see the dialogue window. It would be much better if the other players are allowed to go through the missions dialogues and things by themselves but not being able to take decisions(leave that to the one who started the mission).

From what I know, other players just can’t interact with things, only the one who started the instance can. However, everyone in the party can see all and each dialog window, even though they can choose any options. The only dialog windows that doesn’t show up are those not related to the story. Like in the Hidden Arcana story step, I did it with a friend and it was their instance, I couldn’t see any dialogs of a few books spread around but it showed up normally for those books indicated by the green star.

Please fix "Targeting: Foe - Nearest".

As already mentioned, it’s not a good thing to post screenshots of exploits or even report them here. The proper way is to report them through the email provided.

Anyhow, if you want to know how to upload more than one screenshot, it’s easy. After attaching the first pic, just click Preview instead Reply. It will upload the pic but you will be back to editor and the Attachment field will be available again. Just repeat the process for each additional pic and when you are done, just click Reply.

did you post your ticket number in the Sticky, ‘Tickets 3 Days and Older’? You can find those Stickies in the Account Issues sub-forum. Every post in the latter Sticky gets a response.

And I don’t think they are ignoring or what not. Devs aren’t used to answer too much in forums but they surely read them. Support ticket also can take a while to get a response (although I have sent one recently and got an answer in less than 2 days). Just give it a time but if you get no answer to your ticket you can post about the delay in a thread, but I can’t recall which one now. I’ll update this with it if no one else provide it.

The issue is that players have no control over how this targeting system works which is egregiously silly since targeting is one of the absolute most basic needs for what is essentially a combat-centric game. Why can I—me—the player—not decide FOR MYSELF that I don’t want my targeting system to include yellow mobs, or non-threatening inanimate objects, or things I can’t actually attack/reach due to lack of LoS?

Options like that would be good. But wait.. with the new policy adopted with NPE… “choosing between which type of target you want the targeting system to pick up is too overwhelming for new players and could make them confused, we can’t implement such feature.” :P

Eventually, this map will become less popular and you will be glad that these chests can be farmed.

Yup, it’s just a “shinny!” new map then ppl are kind of in rush to get everything. After a while it will become less popular and the most will move along. Take as example Dry Top, it had a huge farming and stuff at the beginning and now only a few are still doing that as far I know of. Also as others said, after completing achievements and stuff there won’t be much else to do there.

lol, yup. I’m sure a better and clear title would draw more attention from devs and community. Putting generic things like “fix this” or “game is broken” doesn’t help at all, although the OP was some more descriptive.

Another thing, I don’t think it’s an issue with the game only, otherwise everyone would be experiencing the issue. It’s possible to be related with something at your end (computer, connection, your ISP, etc…), several things can be the cause, not the game only. Maybe with the “megaserver” it changed the way you connects to the servers and then for some reason your connection isn’t being able to handle it as before.

For more specific cases you would be better to try it through Customer Support.

Again this stupid feature… That prompt where players are asked to accept progress needs some improvement. It’s not so clear what’s going to happen and it’s even easily missed.

Now I can say more about that as I went through that prompt once. I can’t understand why the game would force players to be put in the same story line (even if temporarily), if I want to play the same story as my party mate I can always join them when they are going to enter the instance and if I want to know the progress it’s shown while playing it.

Wth messing up with our storyline for co-op sake? Once again, doesn’t the amount of players complaining about this sounds like something isn’t working properly?

On top of that he dies after a while of my trying to talk to him. Just drops dead.

If a TP NPC dies is because they are maybe a Trading Post Express spawned for some player. Some of the permanent TP NPCs at Rata Sum can be found at Accountancy Waypoint.

Yeah, I also had halloween stuff still in my achievements tracker on UI. Unchecking them in Watch List removes them. Also, even though it still had costume brawl, the one related to halloween didn’t count, only the one on normal dailies (not a bug for sure).

Yes, if you weren’t online during the time that release was live you won’t have them unlocked. To unlock them you will need to purchase them.

Well, Windows 10 is a very brand new system and it’s not even officially released yet then I think it will take a while until games are adapted to the new platform. Also, as it’s still in preview state bugs can occur, either with the system itself and with any software running under it. I don’t think GW2 or any graphic cards vendors have official support for Windows 10 yet.

Before megaserver you would always see your party members, no matter what place in world. But when megaserver went live this feature got broken, several times it wouldn’t show your party members, mainly if they were in a different map. I think it was an intended change to workaround what megaserver made impossible, then now it always shows your party members even if they are in different instances.

Well, I don’t know what anti-virus do you use but I have had no issues so far. By the way, there are “fake” anti-virus out there that says your system has some malware (even blaming innocent and legit softwares) and then requires you to pay or do something in order to remove “such malware”, beware of not be using one of those.
