I could but as i said to Wolf as far as i’m concerned as long as it doesn’t become a problem then it can just stay as a laughable matter. All the people involved have been told a big fat no deal, so unless that changes or they start to harrass members of our community the info stays out of the public eye. Its a shame though it would be nice to know if these ppl you mentioned are actually real. One thing can assure is that they do not have the power to force their policy on the whole community, mainly because we are against this idea.

The fix is not enough, confusion is too much stronger than any other condition, and this fix doesnt prevent ppl to keep 8/10 stacks of it 80% of the fight.

So let’s say have I have 3 characters with 100, 150 and 100 World Ability Points respectively for a total of 350 points available when this goes live, will the 350 points be account bound and you choose how you DIVIDE them per character or will EACH character have 350 points?
Each character will have 350 points ( the wxp will be merged, not the ranks, so you will have less than 350, maybe 340 something, but anyway ).
And lets say I level up my Main with 5 ranks and used it there, will my Alts still have 5 ranks to allocate?

A well played necro is very difficult to kill as a ranger, but :
1) Melandru runes gives you -25% condi duration and stun duration.
2) spray
3) Lemon grass poultry soup ( – 40% condi duration )

A 0/0/30/10/30 BM build is one of my favorite builds, but you need settler’s or apothecary or even dire equippement.
Healing power goes hand in hand with regen, regen is from wilderness survival, Nature magic and beast mastery traits.
A cleric equipe is good for power shout build like 30/0/0/30/10, good dmg, perma swiftness and perma regen, a GS + S/W are awesome if you use healing spring ( amazing healings ), but this is more for roaming with your buddies.
For solo I would sugges condi bm build.

Is the same problem we had several month ago with GvG guilds, many where upset because those guilds where “wasting” manpower ( which I do not agree with ), but I see red when we have the bloodlust buff and still see people farming them, that’s a waste of manpower.
If the problem is “People stealing supplies from siege to repair” then stop whining about people not defending points, that’s what this guys is doing you know!
No, they’re just stealing important supplies, a real defender will do anything in its power to destroy the catas/trebs/rams, even at the cost of 10 lifes.
If the problem is people getting on the ram instead of you who have ram mastery, then put up your own ram or just chill, watch for enemies and let him do the work. Shouldn’t you be thankful to catch a breather?

The overall philosophy of the game is actually not bad, but there is one big difference, PVE and PVP is not the same, specially if you make it a competition.
PVE loot sharing is all cozy, warm, touchy feelings and meant to be social and community building.pvp is competitive and cut throat, I win you lose kind of world.
Trust me, you don’t want that, WvW is not a competitive game like PvP is, as long as there is a population disparity it will never be a competitive gamemode.
Immagine if you win, you get like 100g more than any other server and some ascended equippements, then what will happen when anet introduce the second season ?
Your server will be assaulted by bandwagoners, you will sit in queue for 10+ hours.
I do hope that the only difference will be the finisher.
even if they did, they wouldn’t get the rewards for 1st place.
remember, your reward is locked to the server you were on when league started.

You should remember that this is not the real life.
In before the eventual second season starts:
+ We need the edge of the mist
+ Free transfers to servers
+ Give 1 month for the servers to adjust with the new population and edge of the mist
+ Create a distinction between PvE server and WvW servers
+ 3/4 weeks of qualifications
+ Reduce the number of servers
For the league :
+ (EU) Gold league with the first 6 – Silver league for the next 6 – Bronze league for the last 6 ( 18 server i think would be more than enough with the edge of the mist and obsidian sanctum implementation )
+ Less achievements, no more “farmable” achievements like temples
+ Lock the server transfers
+ Fair schedules ( in season 1 some server had the same color for weeks, there are server with an harder schedule than others )
+ No LS, that imho was lame to introduce
+ Create theacher NPC that gives the new people all they need to know in order to help theyr server
+ Create a schedule Tab in WvW panel, giving all the information needed, like ladder; the next matches;
To be honest i am not care on what rank we or SFR or whoever ends after the season.
This season is just a bad joke. To have fair results all servers should fight the other servers a equal ammount of times.
And it was also a big mistake to start the season with achievments, that brought all the PvE guys and achievment hunter to WvsW.
None of our servers, be it PS or SFR was able to bring the real WvsW player and guilds in the borderlands.
This week, the week where SFR really kitten s us is the first week in the season where I really have fun. I can join WvsW after work without waiting in a queque for 2 hours and finally there are very good fights.So just stop your childish whining about doubleteaming because it is not worth to fight about that season on the forums.

Morality: SFR is the best EU server no matter what.
- Piken didn’t take the opportunity, they double teamed by going 1 by 1 in our keep taking a shot at us, VZ was “scared” of SFR cause we were top EU for a very long time while Piken didn’t pose a threat
- RS didn’t take any opportunity as they barely attacked Piken, they couldn’t attack them more because we were already focusing Piken big time, RS didn’t cap and held any Piken important objectives and if we (SFR) wouldn’t have focused on Piken I’m pretty sure RS would have been left the 3rd place.Morality: SFR was the best EU server, in my opinion as long as we can beat other servers 1v1 (see Piken this match-up cause they think they’re special in this thread) we are the top server indeed. However this cannot be proven as ArenaNet categorizes servers differently, some criterias having no place whatsoever in PvP

I honestly think it would be best for the Ranger community if Anet just came out and said that they can’t create a decent pet system. They really couldn’t do it in GW1, and certainly can’t do in GW2.
They already said so,
Summoned creature AI is a different can of worms that we aren’t opening for the same reason. Pets that delay F2 use isn’t some wait script we put into their skills it has to do with core AI behavior shared by all pets and creatures and how they decide tasks. Rewriting that has the risks of breaking millions of unknown things so we have up until now band aided the solution. It is something that needs addressing but won’t be addressed until we can kitten how and when we will test it.
With my ele I can burst heal for up to 24k + conditions clean, it’s really easy if you use the right combo. And if the group is well coordinated you can do much better than that,
I once was in an enemy garrison with a very skilled guild, we where less than 20 against a full server, we kept pushing an retreating for heals, and each time we generated a tsunami that big that everyone was insta healed, I almost felt the need of some water wings.

im using 100% Zerker from Armor to accessories and Staff running with 12k hp 47% crit chance 91% Crit dmg – goes up to 111% during combat and 4,000 attack with food and 25 bloodlust stacks and im doing fine in WvW
Classic rally bot build, don’t you get killed by thiefs/ranger in 2 attacks ? some thiefs can even oneshot you… meteor shower at the wrong time will melt you by retalation.
And how can you assault a keep ? you’ll die before crossing the first gate imho.
Not everyone mins/maxes like that, and not everybody uses such food buffs every time they play pve maps. If it’s a concern for PvP WvW, it should be dealt just as confusion was, nerf it for wvw, not for PvE. I know I don’t use the vigor granting skills/traits and do really well with that 50% from that minor trait. While I am sure it will be OK, I do not agree with the developers that it’s “too much” vigor, especially since I rarely invoke the actual vigor boon-25% is a very small boost, making it almost not worth it to use 5 only for that trait.
No offense intended of course, as it’s fine to disagree. What I mean to say is that on its own, without food (as many players play PvE), 50% is not “too much endurance regeneration”, so the nerf does affect mightily all players that don’t eat that often (:P) and do not access vigor through other means.
I can understand, but untill Anet decides to balance PvE – WvW – sPvP separately we are all preatty screwed.
Right now the WvW situation is chaotic, there are several OP build out there :
almost immortal warrior dealing 10k with hunderd blades
stunlock-perma immobilize warriors
almost immortal rangers
2hot thiefs
confusion stacking engis, mesmers and thiefs
perma dodger rangers and thiefs
condi necros
… and many more
One thing that anet could improve is the way they comunicate with us, they speak like politicians, they talk a lot and say nothing.
That said, I would like to know what anet intends to do for the server inbalance, they had tons and tons of suggestions fro us.
Show up more, answare questions, help the comunity like spvp devs are doing now.

People uses warriors/guardians/necros because its easier in zerg fights,
they are faceroll professions, hard to kill and good damage, you don’t need to be focused like other professions.
Professions like ranger or eles are a lot harder to play in zerg fights, every mistakes can get you killed, you really need to know what you are doing and never loose your concentration.
People seems to forget that there are other ways to heal in addition to blasts.
with this build you can heal 20k+ HP every ~40 seconds, you alone :

I tend to run with 2 staffs, when I reach the bloodlust cap I switch to a cleric staff with sigil of renewal to maximise the heals.
A combo I use sometimes when the group/zerg need heals: water attunement swap(3710hp) + regen from trait (2280 hp)—> dodge ( 3170 hp ) —> geyser+blast (5296 hp) —> Healing rain + whirl + earth attunement + dodge blast ( if all is timed right its near 10k hp ) = 24K+ hp if you do it right.
On top of that the whirl finisher+ cleansing wave + cleansing water will remove a lot of condition from your alies.
It’s only boring if you farm it for achievements, otherwise its a funny area for small teams.
Once your server has the buff you don’t need to cap them anymore, you should keep an eye on them and prevent the other servers to steal the buff.
the only thing they should do is to delete the achievement related to it.
Who are you putting on 2nd place then? I really can’t see anyone except Piken or SFR taking 2nd place.

JS will face only SFR in the next upcoming weeks, so the 3rd. place is assured, PS need to repeat the performance of the first week or beat on of the two colossus, otherwise it will end up 4th.
It’s funny because it’s true,
and the problem is still the same, the developers don’t play ranger in WvW.
It would be cool if :
- We could face any server in our region.
- Low populated server could join in the same team, otherwise it will be just a boring pve map for more populated servers.
- It should give less Wxp compared to Borderlands and Eternal battleground.
- Mobs should not give Wxp.
- Give better achievements compared to Borderlands and Eternal battleground, so pvers will not screw the machup.
- Make it impossible to farm, if people like to farm they should go to pve.
- It should be possible to choose whichever overflow in order to joind the guild mates/friends ( like GW1 maps )
- Too many mobs, lower the number
- Give some sort of penality when defeated, like -10% HP for 5 mins.
So it’s more of a place where we get to pretend we’re in WvW but not really doing anything? I guess that’s fine if you just like the WvW activities without caring for how well your server does.
That poses another question: What will be the incentive to hold any objective? If it’s a “yes” to WXP and/or achievements (asked above), then this map is bound to end up nothing but a zerg train.
I hope this will be a place for a more interesting pvp for organized group of all size
Pvers will be more incline to join EB and BL’s to complete theyr achievements and pvdoor, and the wvwers who still care about ppt

You can give liquid wxp to other char and you can buy them with laures, there is no logic in keeping Ranks char bound.
One interesting thing : you know the bonus chests ? Even character that never set foot in WvW get them !

Question : why not give the pet +30% attack speed and decrease the damage for the time being ? that would decrease the times the pet/spirit will delay a specific command.

Why not ? it would be a good idea for improving surival inside zerg fights ( since most of vigor boons are on a non power trait lines )
As I stated, this change is a lot about low hanging fruit. The problem with ranger is things that are good we don’t want to overpower and the things that are not as good are difficult to change. For example:
- Skirmish and Wilderness line could probably swap half of their traits.
- Beastmastery has basically one generic trait per tier and just needs to be more generalized.
- both primary ranged weapons are a mix of single target and AoE.
- Both marksmanship and skirmish lines lack traits to enable power rangers.
Despite those problems rangers have some great builds in PvE, PvP, and WvW. The core problem is diversity but it just so happens that rangers are not setup in a way that makes it easy to improve that diversity problem.
Too much typing for the bus, I’ll try and discuss more when I’m in.

Im here for propose some ideas for the ranger condition and survey skill. They will never apply but just some ideas, that can be a base.
Sry for my english but you can understand me ofcourse.
Traps : Before my ideas i think traps arent very usefull and need up. Remove utilitaries traps and put a trap kit with 5 skill. remove traits VIII and XI from skirmishing. Traps are more larger withou traits. And for the rest an all in one traps traits or do something for dont maximize skirmishing if we want play traps.
arrow preparation kit : kit with 5 skill for some arrow preparation (fire poison cripple bleed chill). 5 next hit put the condition that we have choose. And that can be use with any ranger attack. Now we can remove sharpening stone. So add a trait for cooldown and condition duration arrow preparation can be good.If we are honnest rangers arent really ask in WvW. Put these mechanics and up the utilty of our traps can give us a more utility in WvW, and especially our own utility. I dont understand that necro is a best trapper like us (chill and poison, damage with condition transfer, bleed with regen, and their awesome wells…) Cant believe that !!
So we have to create 3 new utilitaries now.
little ideas for util. :
1 – Dust jet – survey – 5 ennemies gain 5sec blind. 5 allies gain furor (5sec). combo finisher smoke. yes ennemies are blind with dust so you can critical him easy.
2 – We are a ranger not a thief ok but we are the nature we need a stealth utilitary. Leaf spray – survey – You, your pet and 5 allies gain stealth(5sec), protection (5sec) and break stun. Ok long bow now give stealth but i dont really use this..
3 – condition signet – signet – passive : increase your condition damage and condition duration. Active : 5 ennemies gain fire(2sec), poison(4sec), bleed(8sec).
And again if we are honnest who use “seed turret” utiliary? Personally this skill never have his place in my build, and will never have.. So we can change for a usefull utilitary.. I propose a big dream utilitary :p :
-Fusion of the beastmaster – shout – you and your pet are merged for 10 sec. you gain his statistics.. yes a dream^^
I dont want an op ranger, i want more mechanics and recover a true trapper and archer.

I wanted to let you all know about the progress we have been making on the new area in the Obsidian Sanctum jumping puzzle. We’ve been taking feedback and testing the area and we are planning to release the new version of the map in November, barring any unforeseen difficulties. The changes to the map will remove the Borderlands Bloodlust buff from players in the map and will introduce a brand new area of the map laid out for large player fights. We are also adding the map to the dropdown menu so that players will be more quickly able to enter the map from anywhere, without being required to load into Eternal Battlegrounds.
We hope these changes will create a better WvW experience for everyone while providing a space for players to explore the large scale fights that have organically grown up around the game.
I, personally, would like to give thanks to the WvW team which has done a ton of great work in a very short period of time to make this happen quickly and to accommodate the feedback we have received. We hope you enjoy the new space and thanks for playing!

Well, I think devs are starting to test ranger more seriously, they are testing sword and great sword right now ( they have given up on pet man, too much work for them imo ), that’s a start, obviously since ranger is most used in spvp and pve it not a big concern for them how it performs in WvW.
Please devs, fix our pet mechanic ! other than that the ranger is a good roamer, second only to confusion engi.
A personal note : to play a good ranger you must disable auto attack and auto targetting, ofc you also need the right build, its been a while since I lost a match ranger vs ranger, and that’s because most ranger use LB for roaming without a right build.

I sometimes use a similar one but, with S/T + SB.
Or try an evasive ranger, it’s hard to play but rewarding ( one time I stomped a guy inside a 6 man group and managed to escape )

Honestly though, the loot system is frustrating at times, and can actually promote the kind of action I described. I don’t do that myself, but you can see how people concerned with loot may do such things.
Ohh XD… you are right man, it can promote bad behavior, like kamikaze squaddrons, I already see it : 40 pvers with berserker armor smashing theyr way inside a blob in a suicide attempt. /profit
The solution is… once you are down, do not try to get yourself back up. Just let yourself die as quickly as possible. The whole time you are dying, just spam the respawn waypoint as hard as you can. Once you are respawned, any kills that you tagged will drop their loot at your feet in the spawn area.
Wish there was a way I could suicide once I’m downed instead of waiting for someone to kill me. That way I could respawn a split second after, and never miss my loots.
I just hope you are not on my server…
Vigor is nerfed for almost every class, Anet cannot base skill balance on bad connections/Hardware, that would be silly.
p/p will still be viable.
