The only thing a zerg can do is rushing inside, usually 2 or 3 people make it alive.
Well my spider can immob for 7 seconds + muddy terrain + intimidating howl I should be able to make it… this needs testing but not before the big patch hits us in the face
I will try it just for trolling around and see what happens.
I am curious how this is supposed to be an instant kill. 2 seconds of burning will be inflicted for each tick of bonfire. As mentioned before burning stacks duration, so even if a thief stays in there for the full duration of 8 seconds the burning will last 16 seconds total. So after staying in there for 8 seconds, you’ll have stacked another 8 seconds of burning on him, which takes him a single removal.
Personally I would not spend much time on creating new builds anyways, as we are facing the april 15th major patch;)
Do you mean those 8 stacks of burning are only applied if the target stand in the bonfire for 8 seconds ? if that’s the case then it wont insta kill anything…
Not a wvw player so I can’t answer the question, but I would like to ask one. Why nightmare over undead rune? Seems damage would be more important then duration vs other players (that I assume run a a lot of removal).
I’m not sure, bonfire looks like it doesn’t improve its damage unless it goes up a whole second, in this case it’s 2 seconds.

I was thinking about the condition duration and how much you can stack it, I made a build:
The numbers are crazy high, I mean :
- Bonfire 13k dmg over 2 seconds… omg
- Winter’s bite chill for 6s and weakness 20s every 10s… crazy
- Entangle 31k dmg over 16s ( if the target doesn’t destroy it )
- Lots of immob
This looks like a real troll build, has anyone ever tried it ?

It’s a WvW thing, in PvP ranger is good.
Everything Aggrostemma.1703 said is a good start, but if you prefer condition do not take greatsword.
Invader armor + GS and LB is always good for zerging (or even GS and S/A for zerg surfing)
Dire/Apothecary/Settler’s for roaming
I still laugh at the time me and 2 other mates staked 15s+ immobilize on a warrior in TPvP, the guy raged a lot.
The mechaninc is just bad, but at least it can be cleansed.

1. what are guards/eles doing it better? cripples? fury? vigor? are we just talking about regen they do it differently and are subject to there own difficulty and they are subject to the 5 cap as well.
2. there are currently ways to to make it more reliable (pet swap, hit F3) but fair enough they are also not that flash when they are dead. Well see what the pet enhancement bring
I will conseed that rangers usefulness reduces as party sizes get bigger but in the order of 15v15 and bigger not less then 5v5. This is largely due to pet getting harder to keep alive
1. They can spam buffs like empower and have many blasts, ranger can’t. They also have better buffs like stability and retaliation.
2. It is not possibile to control the pet like you can control your pg, the pet will always move around and you cannot fear/daze an enemy stomping your ally in time or heal him if the pet is not nearby, and sometimes F2 fails.
Take the ele as an example, he can port to an ally to heal and buff him very fast just by switching attunements and casting few spells, it’s way easier and reliable than ranger.

Ele utility : Cleansing fire 40s cd(can be traited to 32s cd), remove 3 conditions and burn foes.
Human utility : Prayer of kormir 40s cd, remove 3 conditions.
The racial utility is complitely useless.

- and then there is the stuff our spirits doObviously we can not do all of this in the one build (but we can do a lot of it) but neither can any other class.
1. Aoes buffs are capped at 5 targets and besides ele/guardians can do it better and without loosing too much attack potential.
2. Pet buffs/conditions are not reliables.
Everything we can do it can be done better by someone else, a ranger shines in small group fights (less than 5vs5), with its ability to ress/stomp + group support and single target dps.
I don’t think so, but keep in mind that gw2 skill system has delays so when you see someone burst you down in 1 second it’s probably because of lag (or they found some kind of loophole).
It is highly unpleasant when good glass thief put you on your kitten with 2-3 hits but it is usually your own fault. Don’t go on glass zerk builds in WVW.
So thief can go glass cannon and survive but not other classes ? logic !
Stealth is my only defense while I play glass cannon, if stealth was nerfed I would die like the rest of you and I don’t want to, I just want to backstab and feel good about myself.
Thief must be able to kill any other classes because we cannot partecipate to zergs, and we are also pro players the rest of you must l2p.
Conditions are broken ! I have 0 condi cleanse because I need to invest everything in stealth/burst.
No but seriously, stealth needs to be reworked, go play in OS and count how many thiefs are there… a lot ? you know why ? because it’s the best class for 1vs1 and people play it because they want easy fights, they don’t want to learn how to manage cds or dodges, they just want to spam.
- -36/40% condi duration food are mandatory against a condi necro (I use -36% because they are way cheaper than -40%)
- Use ranged weapons for most of the fight, try to stay at range as far as possible, finish them off with sword only when they burn theyr last DS charge.
- Use signet of renewal when they condi bomb you
- Empathic bond is very helpfull
- Troll unguent and healing spring are the best healing skills agaisnt necros
- Don’t stand on red circles :P

pets may die easy when there is heavy AOE bombardments but…..
they are annoyingly tanky and deal heavy damage all at the same time to players.
If you do take the time to kill one, it’s useless another one is send to replace it right away.when the 1st pet dies, there should be a CD before and NOT after you can send in the 2nd one.
You lying, pets cannot be killed, the thing you can do is chop of theyr heads off only to realize they are like Hydra and you are simply screwed.
And what about us Rangers ? every time I log in ther’s this pet that keeps hunting me… I jump I run and I hide, but it keeps following me I fear to stop because I don’t want to be mauled.
I know we don’t really speak well of the CDIs at times, but they did make a post addressing how they understand the World Identity is too important based on player feedback, so I don’t know that they would change something in that direction. Of course all we can do for now is speculate.
To quell speculation early, that is not what we are doing. The announcement will have more info, but we are absolutely not getting rid of worlds and putting everyone into an EotM type system.
I think it’s cleare what the WvW comunity wants
LB is good against melee that have less than 2 gap closer with long cd or 1 with short cd.
In team fight it’s good for keeping pressure to the target but it also means that you are one of the first targets the enemy group calls, with my mates we usually call eles-necros- LB rangers, if we see the LB ranger dealing too much dmg we jump on him because we know he has 0 survival.
Give LB ranger more survival or more burst : ( few suggestions that might be crazy/OP)
- LB 5 – arrows instead of cripple apply 1s of immob and doesn’t stack
- Signet works without GM traits or no traits at all
- Range should be 15000 by default
- LB 3 should give stealth and the possibility to recast it to port 600 units away, the second skill aplies reveal.
It works has intended, I cannot find the post, but a dev actually said he wished there where more 2vs1 back on season 1, thats why we have 3 servers and not just 2.
Usually 1st and 2nd fight more against 3rd because it’s easier and more rewarding, but sometimes the most hated server is the one who has to defend against 2 – back in season 1 SFR had so many trolls that PS and VS fought a lot more them than each other just to teach them a lesson
That didn’t end well and the fight PSvsSFR hurt both servers so much that JS ended up 2nd, they(JS) also had an easier season, but the hate between PS and SFR was blind that ended up in a bloodshed.
You can find those legionaries who fought bravely during the first season on the streets of tyria, buy them a drink and they will tell you the most amazing stories you have ever heard.
Fights. The rest doesn’t matter.
As Urdriel pointed out, power is hopeless 100% of the time vs a good thief while tanky rangers may not have enough damage to kill 1.
This sort of absolutism is enraging. It’s why I corrected the post of the guy who said there is nothing to be done against thieves. YOU can not kill thieves, MANY of us can.
We all killed thiefs at some point or another, some more than others, but those thiefs had bad build/ they where newbie / they where suicidial or we simply outplayed them.
I saw a lot of videos on youtube of rangerX killing thiefs but all I always think is " how bad is the thief playing lol", thief that stands on the bonfire or walk out theyr own shadow refuge or miss they bursts like it’s the first time they play (miss the burst because of range, not because the ranger actually evaded it).
My point is : if the thief is good and he doesn’t make too many mistakes we cannot kill him, and btw we cannot chase thiefs, so he can keep resetting the fight at will till you make a mistake or he gets bored and leave.

I can see you PoV, but very few classes can clean that much condi spam on top of confusion, also condi damage in pvp is not that high like wvw.
I made some tests with these runes on my condi mesmer against almost every build in WvW (Os) and it’s too easy and forgiving imo, it makes a bad player look good, on engi is even worst XD… It’s one of the few rune sets you can really tell you enemy is using after few second of fight.
I’m all about introducing more builds on pvp, but anet must test it before doing anything, and I don’t think they tested it properly… Let us test it on wvw and then we can see if it’s in a good spot or still OP.
Btw I’m not a fun of the “lets implement this and see what happens, if it doesn’t work we remove it in 6 months” kind of things
A good way to survive thiefes is to have at least 3k armor and some aoe.
a good s/d or d/p thief can’t be killed in 1vs1, he will just run and reset the fight, sometimes they come back and sometimes they don’t.
- Wolf F2 is good to push the thief off shadow refuge
- Don’t waste your evades/dodges
I usually don’t bother with them, if they keep attacking me I retaliate but usually the thief is looking for cheap wins and won’t waste hes time against someone who he can’t kill.

Please don’t waste the time on this devs. I know some people want this, but there are so many things in the game that actually need fixing/attention long before something else is added that, I believe, a small percentage of people want. We already have pvp areas that are great for fighting each other.
And dueling is one of those important things. Which a large majority want.
Really? So, your telling me a majority of the player base wants dueling? Please enlighten me with your evidence.
I can’t say one way or the other because I have no evidence as well, but my suspicions are that the majority would rather see QoL, TP, wvw, pvp, dungeon updates long before dueling.
Yeah, I really don’t think the vast majority of people give a kitten about duelling, Runeblade and his 2 firends that keep spamming on dueling relate threads think the more posts are pro duelling and the more chances they have to see this feature live, the only problem is that they are always the same few people XD… we are not that blind.

Ok, so my server and the other two servers in my tier can (and do) queue maps 24/7. When is prime time? There is no “prime time” for us. Especially during tournaments.
BG is know to be the heavly stacked and full of bandwagoners, but I doubt JQ has queue right now since they’re ticking +100 (unless it’s a 2vs1 schenario).
Except few cases like BG and SFR most servers can’t play at full forces 24/7, this is the first reason some servers are overstaked, easy win easy rewards, do you really like to have 100+ people in q before you just because bandwagoners want theyr kitten rewards at all costs ?
Anet made the arena in OS and tought “oh well now they have a place to fight”. lol
Arena especially in season is full of trolls who interrupts GvG/duels, the only option is to go in bls
My guild doesn’t do GvG, we are a small guild and some of us just roam around in search of fun fights, I more than welcome those who do GvG, at least they’re having fun and do some group pvp.

@Jocksy – Thank you for the sigil tip, I didn’t knew that… signet of the hunt is just for roaming, when I play in OS I usually switch it with lightining reflex as stun breaker if possible or signet of the wild.
@Dave pare – The build is intended for 1vs1 more than anything, I find doggy more usefull in this case and Entangle is way to easy to dodge, and doesn’t work against thiefs, also having 0 weapon evades on 1 set is very bad against burst classes
@Rym – I would take both to hard counter necros and hambow warriors, the necro can send me like 6/8 condition and reapply them costantly ( not sure the cd ), with my ranger I cannot survive it against good necros… with my condi mesmer/ele I can kill them pretty easily.
You are not getting punished, you can play whenever you want, but the concept is good the prime time should reward more than the offpeak hours, which are easier and therefore should reward less

You get punished. You don’t contribute as much as others simply due to the fact that you happen to be living in a place with a different time-zone (or simply work during the days).
And who are you to decide that your time is prime-time?
What is prime time for you might not be prime-time for other players.
Prime time is when reset happens and when there are more people online, simple.
So you are saying that I should get punished because I play at prime time ? everything I do is going to get undone by night/morning crews and I feel my performance is nullified by those people.
The OP araised a valid point, we are not saying you cannot play or you should get less wxp/loot, we are just saying that EU/NA server have theyr prime times and thos hours should reward the server more than other hours.
Why not making 2 or 3 time frames more important than others ? each time frame could have like 4 hours, the rest will reward less ppt, that should satisfy most people
Depending on server zone [NA or EU], after given times [1:00am or so], all structures tick for half the points.
That way people who can’t sleep or just happen to be in daytime when the vast majority is in nightime can still play, and have an impact on the score, but it can’t be the same impact as daytimers because it just isn’t the same effort.
It makes no sense for the majority to run around killing each other during the day, just so that some come later and conquer everthing with Walk toggled on.

Why do you Anet didn’t listen to the WvW comunity feedbacks ?
I get you guys spent a lot of time creating it and now you don’t want it to be a complete waste of time, but this is not how season achievement should work.
Right now you need N(50-70 ?) ruins capped and this is ok in a WvW mentality, but achievement hunters will just run in circle avoiding all fights and farming those points over and over till they finish the achievement, or worst they will trade it with enemys like it already happened during season 1.
I already saw this behavior twice yesterday, 3 ppl from my server trading 1 ruin with 2 ppl from Gandara, I as any normal WvWer just killed those 2 gandarans and moved on, but this should not be allowed in a pvp enviroment.
- My suggestion : keep the achievement but instead of giving 1 point every ruin capped you should give 1 point every time you help your server achieve 1 bloodlust, also lower the requirement by 1/3 or 2/3. This way achievement hunters will be forced to at least help a little bit theyr server.
I think they will add a boon duration set. Since you have to give up a lot of stats to actually get the +45%, I think (hope) that they will just make a set that is something like;
(1) +10 to all stats
(2) +5% boon duration
(3) +10 to all stats
(4) +10% boon duration
(5) +10 to all stats
(6) +30% Boon durationSince there is a cap at 90% boon duration, you have to assume that they want people to be able to hit that cap. Because if they make a cap that is not possible to reach, its redundant. You just have to give up a lot of other numbers to get there. Also, they are trying to increase the viability of support builds and nerfing boon duration, which is a core mechanic of this play style, would kill them.
I really doubt they will introduce a set with +45% boon duration, at max it will be 25%.
Right now without runes you can reach +67% boon duration.

Eb reached a top of 305 last time I saw. Gandara border i think hit 200 at some point

Would be fantastic to be able to remove few things from the Ui like the achievements panel and the objective panel, I know a lot of people who find it disturbing.
Was curious on how much condi removal is too much after 15 april, I’m thinking a build like this should be able to counter pretty much every condi build :
- clean up to 4 conditions every 10 seconds (passive) with Signet of renewal and empathic bond.
- clean poison and/or blind every 10 seconds by dodging ( since I will run regen build poison can really destroy my build ).
- Signed of renewal fagainst the necro condi bombs.
- clean up to 6 conditions with the new trait survival of the fittest using muddy terrain and keen edge.
It’s maybe too much considering some nerfs on condition like perplexity runes/impale/duuhfire ecc… And the damage won’t be to good, enough to kill most people but not as good as a condi Bm bunker…
Right now I’m running with the same equipe but with 10/0/30/20/10 and it’s pretty effective but not enough to counter perplexity engis and condi bomb necros.
What do you guys think ?

Imo it’s pretty logic,
char1 has 100 ranks and char2 has 0 ranks, they will both have 100 rank points to spend.
Why would anet make a wxp pool and then not let you use every wxp point on every char ? only for the title ? it doesn’t make sense.

So when the ranks become account bound. Say my total rank is 400. does that mean I have 400 points to put into each character, or does it mean I have 400 points to split between all my characters.
It means that you have 400 points for each character and can spend them however you want on each.

Yes if you want the level 80 skin you would need the transmution crystal. It dont matter which weapon goes into what side as you can switch the stats and skins around until you are satisfied with the final look.
Yes you can apply the ascended skin to the exotc weapon.But If I where you I would wait until the April patch (April 15) since you then will have the wardrobe and potetiall more skins.

1) lvl 69 axe(cool skin) and lvl 80 axe(bad skin) —> I want the cool skin on the stats of the lvl 80, should I buy a transmutation crystal ? which one goes left and which one goes right ?
2) Ascended sword (cool skin) and lvl80 exotic sword —> can I apply the ascended skin to the exotic sword ?

1st of all duels are done in empty server ( the game doesn’t start and you can play how log you want ), 2nd he’s not playing in good faith and hes griefing, both are against the rules of Anet

If the developers think its a good idea to create duel arenas in places like LA based on the players need then they will do it, but your spam doesn’t help your cause.
I’m quite sure Anet will never create a pvp/duel server just for 5 people, and they wont even make duelling possible outside controlled enviroment such as arenas.
For the time being you can keep trolling/griefing in OS/sPvP showing to the entire world how awesome and skilled you are…

First option has GS and you don’t want that in a condi build, I would suggest you to use s/t + a/d ( both sets have an evade skill which is important to survive bursts ).
The weapons : I’m a big fun of of sigil of energy, besides 2 sigil of burst don’t stack togheter.
Armor : Apo is very good but the problem is that you are not making that healing power much of a use, you have 0 regen and you gain only ~400hp every 25 secs with that healing power, imo is wasted, I would go for dire armor for more HP instead.
Trinkets : Put some chrysocola jewels and you are good to go.
Utilities : Signet of the wild procs only 80hp/s i would go for signet of renewal against condi classes
Traits :
- Marskmanship (2 over 3) —> you are using 2 pets that have powerfull conditions, +50% in duration is quite powerfull
- Beastmastery (10 over 9) —> 5s of Vigor every 20 is not bad, it can give you a bit more survival, and it also procs with any kind of pet.
The build is pretty cool, but I prefer regen build a bit more
Apothecary/setterls + 10 in Nature magich + dwayna runes is enough to have good regen uptime, if you want to try it just remove 10 from BM and you good to go.
I suggest you to experiment with builds and try to find which you are more confortable with.
