If you queue up attacks prior to the player stealthing, they will still land. Ranged attacks that is.

Skills like rapid fire are ment to track the target even after stealth.
The thing at issue in OP is not a bannable offense (even if it were due to ToS, it wouldn’t be enforceable), and that makes this a dead issue.
Well of course it is not a bannable offense. But it is so unfair for rewards in the tournament. But if arena net was against it, if they came out and said something like, “This is a tournament where 3 servers battle each other, no 2 servers are meant to ally in order to ensure top tier rewards. Any servers caught doing so will be receive 3rd tier rewards no matter what rank they place.” or anything like that people would not do it, they would have better luck trying to win on their own.
I cannot find the dev posts because the search is broken, but more than once a dev said that the 2vs1 is ment to be, if anet didn’t want that they would have made a 2 way battle instead of 3.
Is not cheating and never will be, whining on the forum will make other servers gang you even more.

I don’t play a lot of pvp (rank30) but I don’t think they care, I reported many times those farming server and they are still there.
The first time I noticed it I was on hotjoin for the sole purpose of testing a build, it was obvously Skyhammer, as soon as I logged in I saw all 3 point red and everyone was fighting in middle, the score was like 300-10, I decided to go mid (I was red) to figure out what was happening, it looked like a bar fight.
The next match I was blue so when the game started I capped close and then far, after that I was banned from the server XD.
The name was something like SKYHAMMER FARM ! RED WINS!

PvP : Good close holder ? I would say mediocre close holder, remember that ranger has very little stability uptime, Guardian is far superior, a good ranger will hold for few minutes, a good Guardian can holt forever. Decent suport build at mid.
PvE : Easy game mode, everything is good
WvW : Good roaming class, inferior to most thief roaming builds/condi engi/Hambow warrior/PU mesmer
I also had huge lag spikes in the last few days, only in pvp.
Theres nothing competitive in WvW, it’s just coverage lol
The real question is, what do you do with 8 people in WvW ? (considering you play in tier 1-5)
You can take the first towers of the enemy bl but after that it’s quite complicated to do anything else apart from flipping camps.

I’d like a 8man party size for pvp/wvw, only problem is anet would have to increase the aoe cap from 5 to 8 for buffs and heals and this would give zergs more incentives to keep blobbing
I bet that after the balance patch warriors will still be more than welcome to any party in pve-pvp-wvw, theres no need to qq.
I think it depends on what you want to do, I always prefer running + toughness than vitality.
Toughness reduces the damage taken from direct damage, not conditions or falling damage.
Vitality gives you a greater pool of HP that work good against both direct and condi damage.
Ranger has a great source of regen, in this case armor/healing power works better than vitality/healing power because between regen and high armor you can mitigate most of the damage you take and in most cases you can refull your HP bar many times during a fight, but it’s hard to refill a high pool of HP (lets say 25k+).
Against condition specs like condi engi having a higher HP pool works better than having a higher armor.
Against power specs like S/D thief having a higher armor wotks better than having a higer HP pool.
That said, I never run less than 2.8k armor just because there are too many thiefs roaming around :P, Not sure if it’s true but I read somewhere that going for more than 3k armor is not has beneficial than spending your point’s in something else (like vitality)

Tried it yesterday for few hours and had much fun with it, I had some problems finding warriors who didn’t run away like usain bolt and the OS was empty exept for a gvg late night.
I was amazed by the dps and relative tankiness of the build, hope I can find someone tooday in OS because most of the people I find roaming around are not that good, in OS I usually find more competitive and enjoyable fights.

2. Sigil of energy is good, but with the perma cripple I’m not sure about the sigil of Hydromancy, I know they don’t stack, but will chilled override cripple movement speed ?

1. I will try it out, I had a 10 serie fight against a warrior the other day and the few times I won was because I landed most of my immob and cripple.
2. I was thinking so, I will save some money to buy the sigils you mentioned, they both should do around 1k damage on targets with around 3k toughness and that’s a lot, now I understand why they are so expensive.
3. In most cases I run with TU, but I kind of feel better with HaO against bursty opponents.
5. Never tried Omnomberry pie, from the wiki it says it heals for 325 and has 1s cooldown, it look interesting, especially with sword attack speed
I will test it out tonight if I have enough money, I was just wondering why not going 6 in BM ? the only master traits I really like of MM are eagle eyes but it’s not as good without RTW, Predator’s instinct is good but I think I have enough cripple with the spiders. Instead in BM I can slot many cool traits like :
1. Invigorating bond – heals 1600 hp it looks good
2. Zephyr speed – nice for stomping and burst
3. Vigorous training – it would give me a nice uptime of vigor

Hello guys, considering the upcoming skill bar changes I decided to get used to run a LB power ranger and I love it
, but I have serious probles against warriors, any tips to improve my build ?
Against most classes is very effective, obviously is not like a condi tank build so it needs more thinking and trategy but thats the part I really like
I tend to keep my distance from the target as much as I can switching to a/wh when needed but against warriors I feel like I cannot make any mistake or else they obliterate me, a missed lb3 or lb4 means that I’m probably dead.
Here some tips I use all the time :
1. equipe a bow
2. at safe distance start with the scouts, they can blind and they are easy to kill, don’t let them get near you
3. Kill the rest of the guards and dolyaks with Aoe
4. Finish the lord
You could change build when you are roaming in solo, a condi bunker build is the most easy to play and very effective for everything from taking camps to fight other players.
I specialize in killing thieves because as a power roamer and guy that starts on the edge of combat setting up with a bow I have to kill thieves or be useless.
I went through many iterations of sic em builds. Ultimately I can’t live without LR and SoTH (for my speed AND pet’s speed and occasional extra burst) so there is only one slot up for grabs in power IMO. This is now the condi clear sig for both that and extra stun break. It is ultimately more useful than sic em because:
Imo Signet of the hunt is only good for the initial burst, but is it worth ? I prefer to use Traveler runes instead and gaining that extra util slot for something less situational.
I usually run with LB+S/W and my util skills are LR-SoR-SotH + RaO, this will give me enough skills to create a gap between me and my target while keeping pressure at them and building up might in the process.
I feel the balance change will fix 4 of the biggest issues I have with power ranger
1. The damage of LB is not good enough under 1k units
2 Signets need a trait to be completely usefull
3. The arrows travel very slow giving the target enough time to evade them, plus some skills like barrage take too long to cast
4. the reveal time of sic’em is not good enough for me to use it over another util skill.
The changes in paper look almost OP but we still need to see what the balance patch will bring to the other classes.
Most people in the cdi suggested some of these changes and the devs answared
Do traps need some love ? yes, but they are very viable in both PvP and WvW roaming, while the power build lacks sustain without the signet of the beast mastery and it’s too easy to dodge arrows without read the wind (which really need the attack speed buff), without read the wind it’s almost useless to equipe eagle eye.
The fact that you put a trait that gives you 300 vit, should be telling how bad the class needs the HP.
Every class can put +300 vitality from traits.

Take a moment and consider that some of us don’t enjoy PvP/WvW or even consider it to be interesting. It’d be fine if it was optional, like to take a Legendary into WvW you had to do WvW completion or something. But forcing people who don’t like it at all to do it is asinine.
Why do you think I like Pve ? It’s soooo sooo boring, I did Pve for settlers armor and for my monk runes, it was painfull but I did it anyway.
To complete WvW maps you need to play with the guild/zerg, most of the objects are doable in solo, then you need someone to take towers/keeps/stonemist.
I’m pretty sure only certain walls are fixed, I’ve never used this exploit but yesterday I tried on Quentin and didn’t worked, then I tried it on stonemist and it worked.
As explained to the previous poster, since they changed the stacking part without it affecting the thief’s ability to gain stealth off a wall, it probably meant they intended it to work that way.
The patch note it’s clear, I think they didn’t fix it on purpose, do you immagine the uproar of childish thiefs all moaning about being nerfed (aka fixed) ?
Yeah, I did some tests and yes, I prefer the sigil of life ove benevolence, as other have said it’s not worth that extra healing to others compared to what you can get for yourself, because in the end ele will always be the target and it needs the extra sustain.
I will stick with sigil of life + energy, the +250 healing power are more usefull and the extra dodge is always apreciated
I’ve updated the lik of the build with the sigil of benevolence, instead of life.
With 1619 healing power and 52.5% healing bonus:
- Dodge roll heals for 4454 (+20 hp)
- Attunement swap heals for 1513(sigil) + 3220(attunement) = 4733 ( + 299 hp)
- Regen ticks for 506/s ( – 2 hp/s)
- Soothing mist ticks for 245/s ( + 2 hp/s)
- Geyser heals for 5547 (+ 195 hp)
- Blast heals for 2506 (+ 136 hp)
It looks like it’s a bit better, a combo of swap + dodge + geyser + 1 blast will give + 650 hp to allies, not a huge difference but still. The problem is that I will heal myself for less…
Today I should be able to buy the runes and I will test with both life and benevolence to see what the best for me.
I heard the Chinese servers have 4 additional maps that rotate in and out. And different color commander tags. And no nightcapping.

It’s true, you can always trust the internet. I heard they also have 100% balanced matchups and the winning server is decided at the last minutes.
from my experience
1) Thief and warrior are the easier to play, with a condi build they are even easier.
2) Mesmer and necro are easy to play but are slow (you can invest in some runes tho).
3) Ranger has few interesting builds but has hard times against the aboves.
4) Ele and Engi are the hardest classes to master, those are my favorite classes to play with and against.
5) Guardian… some say it’s agood class for roaming but I don’t remember to have ever lost against one of them in 1vs1, if you can manage your dodges good they cannot kill you.
Ele’s water fields are the best heals an organized group could wish for, with each and everyone of them you can refill everybody’s health while a guardian can only heal 5 people each time.
In a small and unorganized group I would prefer a guardian, but just because it’s easier and doesn’t require other people to recognize when and where to blast, leap and stand.
So, in short, complaining will do you no good. If you like the gameplay as it is, good for you. If you don’t, I suggest you find another game to play. The PvP ship for GW2 has set sail and the course is not going to change.
Most skilled people I knew from GW1 left GW2 in the first few months or didn’t even bother to buy the game, we all knew anet was aiming to a more casual aproach.
Imo it’s a waste of time complaining because after 2 years what did they do to respond to the more competitive players ? GW1 pvp in his first month was waaay better than GW2 pvp after 2 years.
Maybe it’s just me, but from you listed it looks like there are more viable build now than ever, you even listed s/d ele as a problem… every class as now at least 1 good build, the next step should increase that number and not decrease it.
So.. you are forced to wait. Indefinitely. For months. =/
Yeah it has been months.. wait! years for me, I still need 60%+ of map completition in pve but I don’t want to kill mobs and do quests, why don’t the quests complete themselfs for me ?, I should at least be able to go to npcs and grab the rewards of other players work.

IMHO, the reason zergs started in the first place is because the maps allow for too many people in too small of a place. If all the maps were significantly larger, a single zerg wouldn’t be able to effectively conquer the map. It would take too long to get from point A to point B as one group and would result a lot more small scale warfare.
Every mmo I know had zergs, Daoc, L2, RFO, WAR, GW2 and ESO… it’s just how it works and wil lalways work.
I am honestly curious…maybe a touch negative (zergs are not my preferred play style) and I am wondering what drives so many people to this “style”.
I do mostly roaming and OS duels, but somethime I like to zerg because :
1. I like huge fights and big sieges that can last for hours.
2. When I’m too drunk to even read the chat I prefer to follow the commander and mesmerize myself with all those shiny lights and colors when 2 zergs collide O.O.
3. Sometimes theres nothing to do as a roamer so I switch build and run with the zerg.

What the heck is an AI build? I’ve seen that term pop up recently and can’t find what it is actually.
MM necro and BM/Spirit ranger are considered AI builds I think… they are very viable builds in PvP, not sure about roaming.

I used to love running 2/3 man groups with my full cleric ele, it was very effective
but now with that much more healing output I can really see it shine ! the only thing that I really dislike is the lack of info about healings done in the combat log :S did they improved it ?
Has anyone tried it already ? I was thinking of getting the runes and try it in WvW but I’m not sure im doing the correct math.
full set of cleric + healing food + 25 stacks of life + 6 in water gives around 1865 healing power, aquatic benevolence + runes grant +35% healing to allies.
Now lets assume I do a simple combo to heal my allies :
Swap to water 1472(sigil) + 2848(attunement trait) + 418/s(regen)
Dodge roll(4275) + Geyser(4907) + Blast 2 times(2285*2)
In a time frame of 2/3 seconds I can heal my party for about 19k hp + 2 conditions removed, after that I could also use healing rain + eruption and other ppl blasts making the healing done even better. It looks too good to be true.

They could work on the already existing ruins and improve them, like :
- Adding traps and rolling stones(like the ones in OS) around the area, and you can controll them only if you have the controll of the ruin.
- Giving some rewards if the players defend an objective
- Giving some rewars when 1 or more group successfully take the ruins buff for theyr server.
They could also work on the north west/est corner of the bls, those places are cool but theres nothing to do after you take the sp.
I would love to see the Halberd implemented, swiss style combat !

Before making ridiculous suggestions I would recommend the OP join a fight club or come to obsidian sanctum to fight more skilled players. Or check in on sPvP where thief is one of the weaker classes now.
Lol, you know thief is weaker is sPvP right ? and thief the weaker class ? double lol.
Try to follow your suggestion and play a bit more of OS/PvP man and you will get better, you will also notice that most people play thief and mesmer in OS just because its easier to win.
Hey guys lately I have been dueling a lot of players from other servers to help get better and I realized that players of equal skill on other classes I have a really hard time winning against. Everyone says that thief is OP but we are only OP against unskilled players.
Put us up against a player of equal skill on another class and we will probably lose (Or at least me). Thieves just seem to have to sacrifice way more than other classes to do more damage or to survive. So I wanted to discuss if the thief community thought the thief was weak both in Spvp and in WvW compared to other classes.
I think you need to change your build, a thief is pretty easy to play if you can manage the ini.
I would suggest you to learn in OS, there are lot of good players there that can make you improve your game, most are thief because it’s the best 1vs1 class, but you will find other classes aswell.
I always tought Eotm was the new champ train map for pvers.
And the bagfarm for more dedicated WvW guilds :P
