I don’t think it makes any sense, wouldn’t you want those types of people to “go away”? and what better way than spreading such evidence? Same goes for the "we cannot discuss info on disciplinary action taken, why the heck not? If I catch someone red handed in the act, I wanna know they got punished!!!
Oh well, good thing I don’t own a gaming company because that would be the first two things that WOULD be allowed! I wouldn’t want scummy cheaters and hackers hanging around my game! I would want them brought to light and shamed right on out of the community. In RL we call this prison, it’d be like saying you cannot have a sex offender list, cuz we can’t name n shame. It would also be like “oh well sorry you cannot be a witness against that sex offender because we can’t let you know if we do or don’t send him to prison”… It doesn’t even have to be something “extreme” like a sexually violent crime either, it could be minor such as, have you read any local ‘blotters’ recently? I was looking at the GW2 Wiki for these things and I’ve come up with a good fix for them, for those who are opposed to their complete removal. I honestly don’t know that I’d fully support even this though, as these items are truly WAY over-powered (WvW is supposed to be about siege, why would you want to disable it, if you’re going to do that may as well take it out, then while you’re at it take out all the structures and NPCs and just change the name from WvW to non-structured [open world] PvP) I still think the best solution is complete removal!:
-Make them cost 150 BADGES + 5 GOLD to buy (anet forgot a few 0’s)
-Make them disable ALL siege (including golems) for 5 seconds duration
-Cost 15 supply to deploy (will encourage guild +5 buff, and/or rank point spending)
-Range: 600
-Radius: 225-Make cool-down 1 hour (can only use one per hour)

I love this disablers <3 Finnaly defenders got advantage, no more golem/blob rushes, no more ninja caps. Its gonna help break karma cap train meta. Now you have to actually think and work harder to cap something.

Imagine the below:
Golem rush, 20 golems, they also bring designated disablers. Offenders disable any and all defensive siege they can. Lets even say defense disables all 20 golems. Where will we be in 20 seconds? I do not know, come back 25 seconds LATER after the defensive siege WORKS AGAIN… (I’ll tell you what, 25 seconds later they’ll be on the lord, because it aint gonna take no 20 golems more than 25 seconds to break in anything that aint being defended, and it wont be because it’ll be disabled for 25 more seconds)…
So, have fun with this new game breaking item if you like it so much

Have you tried playing in a small group/havok? It doesn’t sound like you have and having siege disabled for 45 seconds just as you get to the inner gate as you try to ninja pretty much means ggwp. This promotes nothing other than having to run in zergs and discourages small groups from capping anything other than camps.
No idea what Anet’s mentality behind this was, were they hoping that it would help small groups defend against a zerg? It barely slows down zergs and completely hinders a small group’s chances of taking anything significant. Anet should just get a public test server but apparently they’re worried about living world spoilers (sounds like a bullkitten excuse much like their other excuses).
EXACTLY, THIS. When I DO offend (I normally don’t – I normally DEFEND) it is usually a small team doing it. No less than just me (lol) and no more than what will fit in a single “party”… I LOVED 3 manning towers, even against 1 or 2 defenders (that obviously didn’t know what they were doing LOL). Now, kiss that goodbye. They wont even need to know what to do, they’ll spam disablers until they can get their “support” in to help them defend >.<

What do you think of the new Siege Disablers?
I only ask because I personally think that would be something “worth it” to get behind — asking ANET to fix (rather, completely remove). That item seriously breaks WvW (I’m on strike until I hear from ANET, and if I don’t hear back by the end of the month I’m uninstalling and never looking back)…
I’ll go ahead and describe my personal experiences with em. Starting at the beginning, I don’t really come to these forums (up until the inception of these game breaking items), or the website, or heck, I don’t even read the “patch notes”… So I didn’t even know these things even existed till one was used/abused on me (no, I don’t use that NPC either because I normally do not bother with stealth or supply removal traps either, although I’m fine with the existence of those items)… So I’m chillin’ in a structure to defend (I’m an adamant defender, almost do defense exclusively), when all of a sudden I thought I disconnected from game, because, WTF, my AC is not working. Oh no, what’s this new ‘buff’ it has “siege disabled” – WTFF FORTY-FIVE MORE SECONDS. I almost fell out of my chair. Now the zerg attacking my structure AOE’d it down with absolutely NO resistance since they just TURNED IT OFF ON ME. Now of course that’s normal, if there’s an AC the zerg will send some ele’s ranger’s and whatnot AOE classes to go AOE the AC down, I expect that. But normally you can blast them with the AC to deter them from destroying you and your AC. Nope not any longer, now they can just come and disable it on you, and destroy it with NO resistance whatsoever (trust me it does NOT take even 30 seconds for a small team to AOE down siege, more like 5-10 seconds!). That was my first experience with it, I had ONE more that was nearly identical (except with a ballista) before Rage Quitting.
Now even though I cannot attest to this one personally, it’s one I’ve read about around here (since being on strike from playing really)… This item can hurt defenders AND-OR offenders! I just showed how it can HURT a DEFENSE, now lets go over how it could hurt an OFFENSE. A single guy in a tower could spam these on the gate, which would render any and all rams useless (indefinitely if it has supply in the structure). Alright, so lets see, with the inception of this item ANET should just completely remove the Flame Rams, Arrow Carts, and probably Ballistas. While they’re at it I say, just remove all siege (would they seriously just leave pults, trebs, and golems!?), and then while you’re at it, if you take out siege (what I see WvW as being all about, siege’s) may as well take out ALL structures and NPCs/MOBs and then just change the name from WvW to non-structured [open world] PvP!
Also, why so lop-sided? Here’s another scenario I could “hypothesize”. Especially since these items are so lop-sided, in the respect that they disable siege for 45 seconds, but golems for ONLY 20! As if golems weren’t OP enough as it is, they decided this patch to ADD A MASTERY for them, AND give them only 20 seconds with this new game-breaking item instead of 45, which is what everything else gets! I could now VERY easily imagine a situation where someone decides to set up a golem rush where they designate people to disable defensive siege. I could even picture the defense disabling the offenders golems. But guess what, after 20 seconds, the offenders will be able to use their golems again. Where will the DEFENDERS be you ask??? Oh well, I don’t know, get back to me in ANOTHER 25 seconds, which is how much longer THEIR siege will STILL be disabled (meanwhile golems are back to busting into said structure)… If it’s enough golems I’m sure they’ll be through whatever wall/gate they’re hitting before that 25 seconds is over! Yea, this is REALLY FAIR ANET!!!

I have to agree with Offair here too, if you can’t kill whoever is running in on your circle then no, you do NOT deserve the cap. They’re there to defend it after all – that’s the point of them running into it. So it’s really not broke (btw).
Would you also say we should not be able to res the lord to eliminate the circle (so you have to kill the lord again)? Because trust me, being an adamant defender myself, I’d be rich if I had 1 silver every time I ran into a camp circle just to contest it, and ressed the lord so they they’d have to kill the lord again, AND me. By the way, I’m not talking about the “lord bannering” which I hear is gone now anyway (which I can’t do cuz I’m a ranger), but I’m talking about when I manually res the lord. Which as I said, if I had even a mere silver for every time I did that, I’d have like 5,000,000 gold!!!

I personally don’t care what “side” people think it will benefit more at this point. All I have seen and heard left and right is how horribly abusive this item is period. So to me, it doesn’t matter who it may benefit more, or who it may benefit less. The item should just be removed so that nobody can use it or abuse it. Also bear in mind, players will ALWAYS play a game someone develops in ways the developer NEVER could even imagine. So I would have to say (also being so new of an item) who it does, will, or may benefit more at this point is still rather subjective. So again, bad item, just needs to go AWAY!!!
My guild and I have had some majorly epic defenses. Battles lasting anywhere from 18 hours to 21 hours, to 23 hours. I really cannot pick a single favorite, but the ones that stand out are: Langor Gulch, where the battling lasted ‘on and off’ for eighteen hours. A battle we had at Durios Gulch, pretty much non-stop between TWO offenders that wanted to steal it from us, that battle lasted about twenty-one hours! Then there was Ogrewatch Tower, which was somewhere around twenty-two/twenty-three hours of non-stop craziness (and actually where, if I’m not mistaken, my guild earned it’s defending reputation [it became more known server-wide who we were {we are and were actually a small guild}]). And of course there was the instance of my one buddy and I camping at the Danelon supply camp for 22 hours back when the game launched, we just had to make sure our fortifications got their supply and upgrades!
Ah the good old days, the memories that will be there forever. Too bad now the game is nothing more than a huge zerg fest. At this point all we can do is reminisce about when people used to actually PLAY WvW. My guild and I [about 10] would protect our camp, escort our yaks, do our upgrades, get our tower fully upgraded and supply stacked up. Then siege it up and wait for someone to come ‘n try to take it. Then a group of people would finally show up to take it, and actually try to get it. Other people were actually doing the same too! Offenders would not just tuck tail and run away because they faced the slightest bit of resistance (like now-a-days/ktraining/zerging). When and if we wiped them, they’d send in another group (because people actually ran multiple groups, instead of one BLOB), or come back themselves to continue to try for it. Oh,, the good ole days…
Now, since I guess that makes me an old man:

Maybe you haven’t read any of my posts (I should have plenty on this subject by now as I’ve not been playing /all/ day), I don’t build rams, I am a defender. I don’t see any valid reason to build a ram for defense…
You could just transfer out of your stacked server and never hear about queues again…

X-fer to a low population server and you’ll never have this problem again, then nor will the top tier servers (‘cuz all the stacked people will have left)… It’ll be an all around better situation for all!
iam wvw player and… guys, what is achievment? rly dont get me wrong but wvw players rly dont care about some achievments. When we have a season, we rly dont want any achiev-hunters here to interupt our matchup and make us lose. Do pvers like when , for example, wvw players come to pve and finnish all group events they see so they interupt thier “organized” train on map.. its same.. so for me.. thx anet for no pvers in wvw this season.. its getting better

how many wvw focused players here crying about weak achievments? cuz i dont see anyYou know that the only people actually defending the 5 achievments here are the people that play on the top stacked server so they don’t have to face queues to get in their WvW… Well, these queues wouldn’t exist if these people (youself included, mr. SFR) didn’t stacked in a few servers.
I’m pretty sure all server under T4 (and maybe even T3), have room for PvE’rs to take part of wvw without anyone complaining (havent seen a single complaint about queues that didn’t came from T1-T2). And making that PvE’rs only need to log in wvw for 5 minutes then leave, is hurting these servers that actually need more people to compete.

Maybe at this point it would be, but at the time I didn’t even know such a stupid item existed. Yes, some people (like myself) actually just play, rather USED to play, the game without reading the website/patch notes/living on the forums.
This doesn’t do anything but promote stacking on the server mostly likely to win for the next several weeks.
Transfer to most likely to win > spend 5 mins on achievements per week > non-wvw stuff the rest of the time > MAX TICKETS

Eventually all servers will be dissolved and we’ll end up with perma-EOTM….

I am extremely disappointed with this feature and will be quitting at the end of the month unless there is a definitive reply from Arenanet.
At this point I’m really hoping ANET KNOWS how BIG of a MISTAKE this was/is and HOPING like **** they’re planning on doing something about it. I’m guessing (or maybe it is just hoping) that this is the case since they’ve been working VERY hard and adamantly to censor my efforts to get a large group of people together that are angry about this (including a petition I’ve started)… Of course that could go either way though, they could be sweeping me under the rug hoping I let it slide, like we have let many things slide in the past as well. Although I do still have SOME faith because they HAVE fixed MAJOR things before, such as orbs (and their subsequent removal), or a player in stealth trolling objective circles…
Normally I’d be playing, but I am SO peeved right now I cannot play, I’ve been sitting around the forums all day instead of playing because of this nonsense! Not really how I wanted to be spending my SAT. But thanks to this new ‘creation’ my defenses have been thwarted by zergs disabling my defensive siege and destroying it with NO resistance whatsoever. Yet another change for the worse I see. I am not a class that can just ‘banner’ a lord, but I am a defender so – I’m sorry but if your offensive group (no matter the size) cannot kill a few players AND the lord, then the defenders have a well deserved victory. It’s bad enough ANET plays favoritism toward ktrainers/zergers/offenders but now they just made yet ANOTHER move in their favor…
This is sickening… I could even be in favor of putting some kind of limitation on it, but flat out removing it. Ridiculous…
Tell me about it! I’m an upgrader/defender and I have less than 1/4 the ‘profits’ of my ktraining/zerging friends. Yep, less than 1/4 of the exp/wxp/ranks/badges/gold/etc – us defenders/upgraders get the short end of the stick, ALWAYS… I’m up for ANYTHING that balances out the offending and defending. Maybe then more people would help defend too! Not to mention, of course I’d like to see the same kind of profits that offending/ktraining/zerging would get me – had I only actually liked that style of play, for all the defending that I do… (at this rate I wont see diamond legend until about 40 years from now!)

in my view , wvw became better than before with disabler
p.s. there are always the trebs-omega-catapults-balista- ac that are out of trap range . only ram affect so much the disabler

Actually, that’s what some of us want. More big open field fighting. It’s a lot more fun than just trading undefended towers with the other 2 teams.
PvP has, wait for it, PvP. You want a larger or non-organized/non-regulated fashion of PvP, then head to the area they made for non-organized, non-regulated PvP in Obsidian Sanctum.
If you clump all your siege in one spot and get disabled, then GG for the defenders.

I’m a defender (lower numbers than offenders) and have had this happen to all of our siege, so now they can just mow us over without any resistance whatsoever because they can disable the defensive siege before/as they destroy it. GG anet, now they can mow over our stuff without any resistance what-so-ever.
PvD harder, that’s what ANet apparently wants…
1. Spread out and attack various objectives simultaneously. Some of them will succeed.
2. Build ranged siege and actually defend it.I NEVER play with the zerg, since I find it ridiculously boring and waste of time. But if it’s really a problem, then just add a cooldown for the skill.
Like “You can only use one siege disabler once per hour” – I could imagine having one dude running around disabling everything is frustrating.
So far I’ve seen this as frustrating to both offenders and defenders. Meaning it’s an all around bad idea… Trolly item for trolls who want to grief people… Please remove… That is all…

There are no glitches in wvw and anyone who says there might be glitches, zoom hacks, bugs, bots, people under the floors/walking through walls will have their posts removed and get infracted. So obviously what you just saw didn’t happen. /sarcasm

The last update really stuck it to defenders… nerfing banner rez, buffing golems, and one only need look at the siege disable trap to sum up the direction wvw is heading…

In other words… you can disable defensive canons, ac, and ballista for more than twice as long as you can disable the offensive golem rush.
At the very least… all siege regardless of whether it is golems or not should be disabled for the same length of time.

Yep, they’re killing WvW. I have no doubt they eventually plan on just eliminating it all together. They’re just getting us ready to play EOTM style all the time, so that when they get rid of REAL WvW and say “have fun in EOTM” we’re adjusted for it…
They don’t care about WvW, that’s quite clear. If SOMEHOW they do, it’s DEFENDERS, guerrilla warfare (small group style) and solo roamers that they unquestionably do NOT care about. So they apparently either want to promote their new title – Zerg Wars 2 – and or just eliminate WvW all together…

I don’t need a better game than GW2 to stop to play GW2, I (a lot of us) can leave the game (and will do) just because the game became dull and boring after 24 months of stagnation. And by the way, I spent more hours in RoS this Summer than in GW2.
I will not take part in this fall tournament, due I’ll be busy with another game. Guess that after another 4 months or so ArenaNet proclaims a whole revamp of WvW, with a new scoring system, GvG, maybe even a expansion pack.. would arrive in time to save the guild I belong? I DON’T THINK SO.
Of course GW2 will stay alive this year and probably a few more for the PvE people, but I’m not a PvE player, neither the guild I belong, neither this forum. A year ago I was worried about the WvW lack of progression, lack of evolving, lack of support and vision from ANet. Now I’m not longer worried, since I feel that I did fulfil my goals in the game, and is time to move on.
Do NOT bother, they’re killing WvW, and likely to eliminate it all together IMHO. Also you just admitted to something “illegal” (not legally illegal, just illegal to their TOS/EULA/RULES) so they’ll likely ban your old and new accounts.

Do you have any specific issues to report? It’s difficult to escalate bug reports, without details on the bug(s) you are experiencing and how it’s affecting your gameplay.
I have a couple specifics, just look around these forums. How about Siege Disablers? How about the tournament achievement issue? How about the “lord banner” issue? How about the WvW EXP issue?
As I see it, WvW is in TRUE DANGER. After all, WvW is now the ONLY reason for individual server sanctity. Not even guilds are ‘bound’ to specific servers now!
So what’s to stop ANET from just eliminating WvW? There’s no real reason to “chose a server” now. After all we have MegaServers, and EOTM…!
WvW players, proceed with extreme caution / prejudice – WvW may be slowly on it’s way out the door (they’ve already shown that it is NOT a top priority, even though for many players, myself included, it’s pretty much the ONLY reason they play)!

This is a valid point! Though it still doesn’t settle well with me that I feel WvW is still “in danger”… Seriously there’s NO reason for individual server sanctity any longer besides WvW ONLY (not even guilds any longer)…!
Yet another sign that WvW is in DANGER.
I too enjoy WvW almost exclusively. I’ve leveled 7 of my 8 toons in WvW ALONE (they’ve NEVER seen a day of PvE).
Get rid of WvW and you’ll alienate LOTS and LOTS of players (including me, I’ll uninstall and never look back)!
I consider WvW in HEAVY danger anyway. First it started with EOTM and MegaStupidServers. I felt then WvW MAY be in danger. Now they JUST merged guilds, so a guild is a guild no matter what server is their “base”. Now there is NO reason for individual server sanctity other than WvW. Not to mention they’re also further trashing WvW, not just with this new achievement crap, but with those new siege disablers they added. While they’re at it they may as well remove all siege and all structures, and just call it un-structured PvP. Wait, why would they have two different PvP’s in the game. Right, maybe they may as well REMOVE WvW completely.
This does after all seem to be the direction they’re headed in…
