We need to stop referring to EotM as a WvW map. It is a PvE karma train map where you can kill players.

And, let it be known, the “we’ve” he’s referring to is both TC and BG. For Queue’s on JQ, we only have 15 on one map right now. If you like to play during the time you made this thread, we have plenty of room for you in WvW on JQ.

HEHE Sad but true. We are being double teamed by BG and TC atm and a lot of people prefer to stay out of WVW waiting for easier week. BTW to BG fun boy. I am not denying BG is a very good WvW server but we wait and see what happens when yaklovers are not in the same match up. JQ helped them to get to 3rd place last season now BG helping them to get second place. Weeks between season 1 and 2 can show real picture. Seasons are more about politics. TC knows they can’t take first place and only real chance for them to get second is become kittenes to BG or JQ. BG and TC basically not fight each other now. Both servers fight JQ.

Your issue is that you have zero sense of strategy. There is no agreement between BG and TC. It is all strategy and it is in both server’s interest to fight JQ. Why? Two reasons:

1. TC is closer in points to JQ. It is smart for them to attack JQ and steal points away. Hitting BG doesn’t really do much to help achieve second.
2. BG sees JQ as the bigger threat. Given that TC is focusing JQ, it makes sense for BG to beat on JQ. Get the win now in case there is another week where JQ prevails.

2v1 in WvW Working as intended?

Because it is smart strategy to 2v1 other servers at times. It is working as intended. Every server does it as needed, and we certainly do it on TC.

There are a lot of times where we allow an enemy server to take another enemy’s keep. Why? It is more valuable to get a fully fortified keep reset than to win that particular fight.

This is a good addition for the PvP lobby. Some servers such as TC already have a great lobby, but if you go to Anvil Rock, it is a ghost town.

The summary of the last CDI on this topic was that merging was a bad idea. ANET would basically being giving a bigkittento the WvW community if it was implemented. I doubt they will do that.

@OP. You have to understand that many of the people who play in PvP have been doing it for a long time, so you will die a lot at first. You just need to keep at it. If you want to fast track the process, I recommend the following spec.

Engineer
x/x/30/30/x

Stand on a point and spam bombs and grenades and you’ll be fine.

The reality is that ranks should not be included in matchmaking. For matches it should be completely based on MMR and how well someone is playing.

The issue in general is that matchmaking does not work correctly (as you point out). That is due to two things: a broken leaderboard and a lack of players. The broken leaderboard means that positions on the ladder are incorrect which causes poor MMR.

The lack of players is an even bigger issue. Essentially ANET had to make a decision between waiting 15 minutes to start a match or to start a match more quickly but add in some players who do not belong in the game. They choose the latter.

ANET is really feeling the effects of their decision to remove rewards from PvP. Hopefully once the new rewards are in place on April 15, we will see an increase in participation. That, along will a ladder logic revision is what is needed.

go to EoTM, you can get all your achievements there, the fights are better, the loot is better, the map is better. There is literally no reason to go into the normal WvW maps.

Overall, these traits are really unbalanced.

1. Ranger, thief, and necro have skills that aren’t any good
2. Mesmer and Warrior have OP skills
3. I’d imagine most bunker guards will take the vit buff. It is too much for this class already
4. I really hope that engi turret shield does not block people who run into them.

Perma stealth thieves (both power and condi damage) are gonna be SOOOOO much more annoying to kill now, even if you can outplay them, a 50% damage reduction in stealth is way too much.

I doubt many will even use that trait. They have to choose between damage reduction or heal. I’d imagine most will still choose the heal.

1. Top NA server would beat the top EU server head to head due to coverage
2. The top EU guilds are way better in GvG
3. The EU meta is more advanced than the NA meta

ROFL @ the qq coming from all the thieves for taking their beloved spammability away and bringing in some actual active and thoughtfull gameplay.
You know: other classes with only 2 dodges have to actually think about when to use them.
Compared to burst builds from other classes, S/D is still doing pretty well even though it is not the burst like backstab.
And i’ve never ever seen a S/D thief who jumped on me and retreated afterwards for 35 seconds.

Still waiting for this S/D burst combo. Please explain.

The huge queues are here ‘cause of the PvE achievement hunters during he season. Normal queues aren’t that frustrating.
Even now, most of them already got what they wanted and queues went down (At least in my server) from 300+ in peak to around 80. Manageable.

In my honest opinion, there are much worse things to worry about in WvW. Stop picking on the little things that don’t really ruin your game experience and I’d much rather having ANet working on the things that do than on this. Oh noes you need to wait 15 minutes…
Have a cup of coffee, chat with your guildies, buy your GF flowers or take a shower while you wait.

Disagree completely. Queues are always there on reset nights unless you play on a low tier. This would be a good enhancement.

There’s also the fact that you guys have way too many people when your groups do go for those targets. 10 people for a camp? That makes your main zerg a lot smaller than ours when we’re sending 2-3. 20 people zerging the ruins? We’ll go take your tower and take back the bloodlust after you leave to defend.

I said it before seasons started and I’ll say it again, since some people, like yourself, don’t seem to get it.
JQ does not have the coverage or the people to win the seasons. We can be competitive, sure, but we queue 1 map in NA prime time. Simply not enough when TC prime time is NA, and BG has no down-time.

So please do try to stop fishing with troll comments and getting some people to reply, it’s just a matter of coverage / population, of which we don’t lead in either.

From what I’ve seen….

TC has the strongest late EU through east coast NA
JQ has the strongest west coast NA through SEA
BG has the strongest post SEA through early EU.

BG is really competitive in both of the TC and JQ strongest areas, while TC and JQ are only really strong in the timezones that I have listed.

The way a 5v4 should be handled is as follows (assuming the 5 person team wins)

1. Everyone on the 5 person team should get a win
2. The 4 members of the losing team should not get a loss
3. The 1 person who left should get a loss

There is nothing worse than waiting in that queue for an hour, getting down to number 14, and then the queue freezes. I don’t mind the queue wait since I’m usually doing other things. I do mind when the queue breaks and I have to start over.

Remember the point of this thread… It is the most useful professions. The single most important profession is…. wait for it…. eles. Without their water fields, nothing else matters. You don’t need many in your zerg, but if you have none, your zerg won’t last for long. Anyway, the rankings.

1. Ele
2. Guardian
3. Warrior
4. Necro
5. Mesmer

Which leaves the following as the bottom classes: thief, ranger, engi.

As I’ve said in other forums, there is one really easy fix to this issue… do not cap levels at 80. I do think the 20k per level is a good idea. I also think that as people progress, they should also see a higher rank.

If that means someone who is currently a level 71 becomes a level 200, so be it. It also allows ANET to introduce awards above level 80. For example, maybe level 8o is dragon, maybe level 100 is elder dragon. Maybe at level 150, a virtual Jonathan Sharp appears and beats on the corpse of your enemy.

You get the idea… no good reason to cap the levels at 80.

Theres absolutely zero difference if you where to make a rank 200 with a special finisher. It simply becomes the next “dragon”. If you’re going to add ranks after 80, you might as well keep the ranks the same they are now.

Wrong. You miss the point completely. Certain hard core people are willing to grind 450,000 for the next rank. People who are more casual want to see more frequent achievements. The goal here is to bring MORE people into PvP and KEEP them there.

My solution gives something for everyone. Casuals can see progression and the hardcores still have something to go after.

Why not add a new rune set instead that is anti condi, and includes a way to transfer condis back to the attacker.

Imagine if they added a rune set that was 25% chance when being hit to transfer 2 conditions. What if they made that the four piece bonus and then added for the sixth piece 10% increase to critical damage AND chance on crit to proc 2 second stun! IMAGINE THAT! Then they would add 25% chance when being hit to stun for 4 seconds for the fourth piece and the 6th would be 20% increase to healing AND transfer all conditions to surrounding enemies! It would be glorious, all of us running around getting passively beaten by rune sets!!

I hope you never go into game design.

I’ve been noticing lately that people are getting stuck in queue. It will start to count down and then at some point, will just stop. People behind them in queue jump ahead and the person just stays on whatever position they are in.

There are definitely some bugs with it.

Or how about something not completely kittened like:

1) + 25 Power
2) – 10% Condition Duration
3) + 50 Power
4) – 10% Crowd Control Duration
5) +100 Power
6) 10% Chance on Hit: Transfer 2 conditions to your opponent. (10s cooldown)

Or something like

1) +25 Vita
2) -10% Condition Duration
3) + 50 Vita
4) +10% Boon Duration
5) + 100 Vita
6) 10% Chance to convert 2 conditions into boons when hit (10s cooldown)

Just suggestions… would indeed be nice to give people some sort of counter to all these conditions. It’s already pretty kitten ridiculous how many conditions can get applied in such a short time by just 1 or 2 condi casters….

I like either option. Probably #6 needs a longer cooldown, but I like the general idea.

No good team keeps someone full-time on close. If the other team is smart, they will win every team fight at mid since your team will be outnumbered. That is a loss for you.

If you like just sitting on a point, do it on mid. No one will ever ask why are you camping mid.

It is already a lot easier to defend than it is to attack. That said, the reason people don’t play defense is because of one thing, it is boring.

Ha. We pushed off about 5 assaults from IoJ (on their bl) at hills earlier this evening. They had 40 to 60 for almost everyone. FA even crashed the party a few times with around 40 of their own.

We probably had around 30 to 40.

I can tell you one thing….It sure the hell wasn’t boring. Maybe the pvd k-train is exciting to you, but attacking keeps that are being defended, and defending keeps, is probably the most fun I have in WvW. It is so much better than open field fighting, where you just run into each other, spam 1, and see who is the last one standing.

Attacking keeps that are being defended, and defending keeps, actually takes strategy. 1 mistake can cost you the whole kitten operation. Supply plays a factor in it as well. It sure isn’t boring.

Some people may think defending is boring as kitten but i have the greatest times upgrading/ pre sieging keeps and once under attack i enjoy the view of all people willing to come help defend using all the siege and killing them, or losing it but giving everything we can to defend. Banners, suicide contest runs, guerilla attacks.

All in all lots more fun then PvD or open field fights but on the other hand not as rewarding and PvD, but i play for the fun and not for the rewards, if i did i would play PvE lol

You both miss the point. You need people focused on attacking in order for you to play defense. Most of the time, you will just be sitting in the tower waiting for someone to attack. That’s the boring part.

The actual fight can be fun to defend (if you happen to enjoy just sitting on an AC or treb), but the sentry part is not. Doing the sentry piece is where most of your time will be spent. It is boring.

This ^^. If they want to GvG in a BL map during a queue, they have every right to do so. You also have every right to go in there and attack anyone you want on the other server.

Mesmers are the best 1v1 class. You can’t really expect to beat them as a guardian unless you are quite a bit more skilled than the mesmer player.

based on the swiss style tournament, and ranking system, you’ll see only SoS and TC switching groups week in week out. BG will always be stuck with JQ, while Mags will always be stuck with DB.

My Prediction :

1. BG – 45 pts

5. TC – 25pts
6. DB – 9pts

TC isn’t part of a double team with BG. TC is focusing more on JQ for one reason, JQ is closest in score. Taking points away from JQ is a smart strategy to try to get second this week.

That said…. who really cares about the blobfest known as T1.
