I do not agree. I think with the new GM traits, plus survivability buffs, we need to see how the meta plays out first.
I’m actually worried about the turret traits for PvP. We really need to see less AI spam in this game, not more. I’d like to see turrets, spirits, and minions all nerfed, not buffed.
I’m also worried about turrets providing boons. Are all turrets on the same cooldown schedule, or do I get 1 boon for every turret up? If one boon per turret, that could be way over the top.
I think there are really only 4 good roamer classes. First, I classify roamers as people who run either solo or with a max of one other person. Anyone who runs 3 or more is a havoc squad. For roaming classes, the best, in no particular order, are:
warrior, ele, thief, mesmer

Actually most of the new GM traits for any profession aren’t that great. I don’t see many being used. The best ones are probably for ele.
I think an unranked queue is a great idea. I hope is added.
Everyone seems to think they get to a certain % and then can’t get any higher because other players are bad. That is simply not true. You are not going higher, because this is where you belong in the leaderboards. Think about it this way… how did you move from 60% to 85%? Those players were less skilled than the players at 90%. The reason you moved up is because you were able to carry your team.
In other words, you stop moving up once you reach the point where you can no longer carry teams. (of course it is easier to carry teams with certain specs than others)
Mesmer will be in a really bad spot after the patch so please keep that in mind when you do your balancing anet
No one will take your comments seriously if they are this broad. You need to be more specific.
1v1: Mesmer is currently the best class for this. I don’t see that changing with the patch. At EQUAL skill levels, the mesmer will win.
Team Fights: Pretty useless. They are good for some burst (depending on their spec), but after the next patch, I’d much rather have an ele handle the AOE burst.
If you want more NPC, go to the karma train map known as EotM. Keep NPCs out of the real WvW maps.

This should not be a feature within WvW. We don’t need people taking up queue places for this. Instead, if someone wants to test a build, they can:
1. Go to OS and duel someone
2. Go to PvP and choose a 1v1 custom arena
I miss town clothes in WvW. Of course TC is the RP server, so it might just be me.
Exactly. It means that if you are a roamer, and want to look for other roamers, you can set a LFG and team up.
I typically only see lag during three way battles for stonemist. The vertical nature of the structure probably makes things worse.
Last season, it should have been 1-9. ANET messed up by separate 4-9 who were fairly balanced.
The problem now though, is that there are no strong #8 and 9. It will not be a fun experience for them.
It will be interesting to see JQ vs BG when things really matter.

TC have been going hard, and certainly offer a new dynamic to the match-up, indiscriminately hitting what ever the heck they want.
TC map politics aren’t like the old BG/SoR/JQ match ups that’s for sure!
And I love it.
It’s been a fun time. I think TC got the best of the SoR guilds and they blend very well with the previous TC players.
I fully expect to see a great matchup (with the new schedule system, I don’t know how often those three will play against each other).
I’m reeeeeally hoping that people have a chance to earn legendaries through PvP. I’m also hoping that they are slightly different than the PvE ones so that we can still see if someone earned it through PvP or PvE.
Hey I’m on Blackgate. Why’s it so dead now? There isn’t any PvE event crap going on. It seems every time I try to come back to this game, WvW is just dead on my server so I just quit again. Maybe my timing is off lol
I wouldn’t worry about it. I expect week 1 of season to look more like the link below. Right now no T1 server is going all out.

You guys are also doing a good job of honing in on where it’s most used, how it’s used, what you feel is too strong about it.
One recurring theme I’m seeing here is people feel that the initiative work lately has helped to benefit this skill.

I personally do NOT think it is an initiative thing. That does help with being able to use it more often, but it is not the biggest issue.
The problem is the entire IS—>PW combo. An immobilize, a stun, an evade, and good damage is too much for two skills. I’d like to see the stun or the evade removed.
If you took initiative away, would you still feel that way if they used two abilities (put them on cd) to do that?
It is the thief design, imo, that will continue to be problematic. You address one thing and you’re just peeling layers to get to another issue.
They aren’t going to completely redesign a class at this point. Better to look at incremental fixes. Removing the evade or the stun would add more counter play and increase the thief skill cap a bit.
Removing the stun could potentially make S/P thief the strongest build ever made
No cast time spammable evade ( or little cast time) with tons of damage. Removing the stun would alo increase the dps of the skill.
basically a burst build with more survivability, that would make D/P obsolete.

I think you are completely wrong. You assume the stun would somehow decrease cast time. What people are suggesting is to remove the stun, but keep the cast time the same. That would NOT increase DPS.
@OP: Change the title to “Too much evade”. Your current title talks about dodges but your post talks about evades. It makes it seem like you don’t know the difference (which I doubt is the case) and so most people won’t take your post seriously.
If stability is reduced, than CC such as fear also need to be reduced.

You guys miss the point completely. EotM was the ANET vision for the future of WvW. They wanted to roll it out, and have everyone love it. They disregarded feedback from people on the forums and thought we didn’t represent the majority. So, what happened? They rolled it out and …. it was a failure by WvW standards. It was successful for those who enjoy karma trains or running troll builds.
Maybe of you are trying to look at just plain condi vs power and saying one is easier than the other. Instead you should be looking at aoe vs single target. AOE is skill-less play. Single target actually takes skill. That applies whether we are referring to condi or power.

Did you watch the most recent ready up? New team deathmatch map coming April 15.
Only forum users wanted rewards between now and April 15th. You do not speak for the mass majority who were ok with no rewards…. or so we hear.
If you think these are bad, hope those leaked new elites are fake. Those were horrible.
I think during the previous ladder discussion, it was pretty clear that the leaderboards are broken. Hopefully ANET is working on a new system.

You are missing the point that we need this feature for fun not competition, and the game is beeing balanced around teamplay not 1v1.
We already have enough whining about classes just because the whiner dies in 1v1
Leaderboards just give another option. Just like in conquest, you can select whether you want a ranked match or a fun match. Give people the same option in 1v1.

Anyway, the new healing skills they introduced a few months back also had to be unlocked, and nobody complained! Why is that? Could it be because everyone had hundreds of skill points saved since launch and didn’t mind, whereas now because they’re saying they’ll also be unlockable for gold you’re all feeling their evil hands in your pockets?
Actually the reason is that most of the new heal skills were really poor so people disregarded them. How often do you see someone running one of those heal skills?
Poison on steal needs to go as well as the 900 range blind on black powder. The blind pulse on black powder needs to be adjusted as well. There are two abilities that deal with blind, one on engi and warrior. Not every profession can over load the blind, and thieves should not be immune to melee damage because they decided to hit 5.
The blindness is only for the first hit. As you know, most melee players are smart enough at this point not to just stand in the black powder.
I never understand why people have problems fighting asuras. I use human characters and it isn’t hard. Do you use a crazy high screen resolution or something?
The big mistake they made was giving out pve legendaries in pvp. What they should do is make it a unique legendary pvp skin.

There should be PvP specific legendaries. This way once the gear cross-over happens, you know how someone received the legendary. Is it because they were a PvE champ, or because they were a PvP champ? It really gives PvP people something that identifies them as one of the best.
@ANET, as an easy fix, maybe make the particle effects/footprints a different color. Again, differentiate PvP from PvE.
It is an unsupported game mode style.
It will highlight how broken thieves are.
ANet will not balance around team deathmatch.No good will come of this.
You need to wait to see how the scoring works, how many people play on each side, and what’s considered a win.
The more people, the more the meta revolves around bunker (look to WvW for an example).
The smaller the number of people, the meta revolves around 1v1 duelers.

Are you a zerg player or a 1v1 player?
If you are a zerg player, I definitely understand your complaints.
If you are a 1v1 player, mesmer is the best class in the game for that. Roll PU and win.
Maybe explain which downstates you think are better?
I know we were told to wait for the feature patch and that it would make some of the balancing issues so away.

It is more strategic in WvW than in PvP. More options = better strategy.
Plus, interestingly enough is that last weekend’s unpublicized GvG between two top guilds generated over 1200 concurrent viewers. There aren’t many PvP tournaments that generate anywhere near that many.

From my point of view, it looks like eles are taking the brunt of the indirect nerfs. Celestial losing it’s crit damage and boon duration is being nerfed on all runes. At this rate, I’m going to have to change all of my gear out.
Celestrial is getting 6% increase in all stats (except crit damage). Personally, I prefer that, since the crit damage isn’t the reason I use celestrial.
